I think it’s adorable, but needs to be knee-length. Love the red shoes with it, too.

    • drdarke

Exactly, @another_laura:disqus – this dress is so long on her it makes her look stumpy.

Also, is it me, or did Christina Ricci have serious Botox…?

      • agree, it makes her look a bit dowdy, like its office-wear.

      • Faerie Nuff

Botox?!? She’s 33 and she doesn’t go out in sunlight. She doesn’t need Botox to not have wrinkles.

        • drdarke

I know, @faerienuff:disqus ! But look at her face in some of those shots – she looks like her expression is frozen on there….

I really hope I’m wrong, and it’s just bad photography.

  • Introspective

the dress is nice enough but it definitely should hit her at the knee like it does the model. clearly lil christina is way too short for the sample size.

and while i love the red as a classic pop of color for a b&w ensemble, the shoes are so close to the red of the carpet which makes her feet disappear.

    better luck next time girl.

    • Sarah

Yeah, I was lookin’ for the feet at first. Unfortunate, but not really her fault…have to say though, I really like the runway look with the tights! Not the shoes, so much, but the tights are cute.

  • Tracy_Flick

This woman does not age. Remarkable.

I agree that the length makes her looks stumpy. But overall, it’s a fabulous dress for her, and I love the shoes as well. Hair and makeup look great.

  • lobsterlen

I love it. The length doesn’t even bother. Love the red shoes.

  • Perfection. Too bad the shoes blend into the carpet.

  • hac51

Slightly OT, but “the premiere of ‘Smurfs 2′ during the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival”? Whut?

  • MsOlympia

Her hair is too flat and stringy, the skirt length is awkward, and shoes invisible, but clearly Christina is a beautiful woman.

  • BrooklynBomber

It’s an okay dress that looks better knee-length, and the “pop of color” shoe doesn’t seem to be working. I’m just glad she didn’t go with the patterned stockings.

    • I think she’s such a wee person, it is this unfortunate length on her.

      • BrooklynBomber

Yep. As a wee-ish person myself, I’d say that’s true, oh tall one of whom I am bitterly envious!

        • To be clear, I don’t think this is a flattering look for us tall gals either. I always think knee length or floor length, never in between. =)

          • BrooklynBomber

Actually, I’m with you. There was a picture of someone here recently who managed to pull it off.. .. oh, yeah, Julie Bowen in Monique Lhullier, but most of the time it’s not a tough length manage.

  • MilaXX

Cute look. Shame the red carpet makes her shoes disappear.

  • I really love the dress. She should have had it hemmed to knee length and had some more volume with her hair.

  • Wait a second… Smurfs 2 is premiering at TRIBECA?

Anyway, the dress is pretty, and I like the pop of color in the shoes. The dress could stand to be shortened a skosh, though.

  • Wrong length. Boy does she look annoyed to be there.

    • StellaZafella

I was thinking, with the dress and her attitude here, she really would be right for a Bette Davis bio pic…just not for HBO, please……. I thought I was making a joke, and then I looked again. Hmmmmm. “But y’ ARE, Blanche…Y’ are!”

      • alyce1213

Your idea is genius. Perfect physical casting and I think she has the acting chops too.

      • ballerinawithagun

Have always thought that, she’s got Bette Davis eyes…

  • crash1212

Love this dress. She looks beautiful in it. I suppose it could be shorter, but I’m liking this length on her. Love the accessories. Not crazy about the hair…needs more volume up top. Love the red shoes – great make-up. Nicely done!

  • She’s a petite little thing, I wish she’d had the dress hemmed to knee length. I just adore her, but I do wish she’d keep a hairstyle that included bangs, her face is so well suited for them.

  • SewingSiren

I wish the carpet was a different color, because as it is her feet are disappearing. Also prefers her hair the natural color. Other than that, cute.

  • erinbinek

Love the dress, hate the shoes. They match the carpet and it looks like she isn’t wearing any.

  • tereliz

I know she’s short, but I don’t feel like this length stumpifies her as much as some of y’all do. I like that the bell of the skirt doesn’t flare so much at this length, creating a long, elegant line. It’s a beautiful dress. Something about her eyemakeup seems off though, and the crown of her hair is a little flat.

  • AndreaSkates

    Jessica Rabbit.

  • SugarSnap108

  • Qitkat

Love the way the skirt reveals the wider black elements when in motion. I think Christina is giving up the side-eye because she has realized that stripes with teeth may not be her best friend.

  • nannypoo

I like it. Too long, though. I don’t like her makeup. Her lipstick is too red without some cheek color.

  • Would be better with a shorter hem and some jewelry, but very nice.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Do the designers that lend these not allow hemming? She’s so tiny and another_laura’s right, the skirt needs to be knee length. Otherwise, the whole look is fabulous.

  • Rachel Wertheimer

I don’t think it COULD be easily hemmed, honestly. Look at where the black gores open.

The length doesn’t bother me, but the hair needs something. Bangs, maybe?

  • Jonquil

I have those shoes! They’re my favorite pair.

  • Suzanne Johnson

I see a strong resemblance to the young Bette Davis here — the enormous eyes, the very high forehead. It’s especially noticeable in the third photo.

  • Trisha26

I actually love that dress, it looks much better on her than on the model, but the photos/look is off somehow. Red shoes on Red Carpet? Matching Red lipstick? Photo/posing angle?

  • jmorino08

I like the shorter length on the model much better! I know CR is a teeny weeny little elf, but that length is, borrowing from the Fug Girls, stumpifying!

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

    Her forehead blinds me.

  • her feet look like stumps! they blend in with the RC way too much.

  • quiltrx

    I LOVE the dress!
I’m willing to forgive the length–yes, it would look better if it were shorter. BUT…she’s tiny. And with the way the skirt is gored, you can’t just lop off some of the bottom…it would require a major alteration to be the “right” length for her.

  • LaSylphide

Love the dress, agree it’s too long on her. And what’s with the weird ‘Frankenstein’s monster arms’ posing? The dress would look a lot better if she stood more naturally.

  • anotherkate

Wow. Even though I know she is pixie-sized, she is working the hell out of that dress and somehow she looks tall despite a notoriously difficult hem length. Love the red pump!

  • demidaemon

    Cute, but under-accessorized.

  • “Christina Ricci attends the premiere of Smurfs 2” that is just too depressing.

  • guest2visits

Pretty, I think. She could have done something, anything with her arms, though – looks like she’s tipping over.

  • librarygrrl64

SO glad she didn’t go with a white pump!!!

  • pattie capet

    yay christina!

  • Pretty enough.
