Too much dress, too many patterns, and it’s too long on her.

    • foodycatAlicia

It’s a bit literal for Disconnect isn’t it? Next screening she could wear a telephone on her head.

    • Susan Collier

Perhaps if the dress fit her better, I’d be more forgiving. I just look at it and think Kinkos Quilting.

    • Dd

What is this? Are those photos of people at a basketball game? The only thing the stylist got right is tying the dress to the title of the fiim. “Disconnect” indeed.

    • gabbilevy

It’s too long on her, but I love it anyway.

    • hughman

You do not want to dress like a walking Boing Boing article.

    • rh33

Is this a dress made out old ties?

      • drdarke

I think I saw this dress for sale at Disneyland…..

    • Jeff Warhurst

It’s goofy looking. Like a joke.

    • Lilyana_F

Too long and stiff on her. I kinda like it on the runway, though.

    • Imasewsure

      Cute girl. Ugly dress

    • annabelle archer

Andrea to stylist: Are you sure?
Stylist to Andrea: Trust me darling.
World to Andrea: Oh honey, no.

    • crash1212

I like it. Quirky fun. Like her shoe choice better than models. Dress does the heavy lifting so no need for major accessorizing. Looks like I’m in the minority….oh well.

    • MilaXX

Weird dress but I kinda like it, not sure about the shoe though. Looking at it again, I wish she could have gotten it shortened to the model’s length.

      • marlie

Agreed. It’s a really interesting dress, but the length is weird on her.

    • schadenfreudelicious

that is one seriously ugly dress, can’t get past the photographic crotch faces…which is not a phrase i thought i would be typing today…

      • Meg0GayGuys6

So weird… is Kerri Strug on her belly button?

    • Nellie Wilson

      It’s crazy. I love it.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

Trust me sweetie, when T&Lo asked for more color and patterns on the red carpet, they probably weren’t talking about these colors in this pattern. On a positive note, the shape and neckline of the dress look good on her … but I agree that the dress should be shorter.

    • conniemd

I kinda like the effect of the horizontal patterning. I just can’t get over faces on the material. Just like the Dolce and Gabbana collection with the Jesus type faces. I can handle animals, even body parts like hands or legs, but not faces. Just too creepy.

    • RebeccaKW

Is that Chewbacca right above her crotch?

      • marlie

        OMFG, that’s… SOMETHING. Whoa.

      • schadenfreudelicious

i was thinking the same thing, a windblown Chewy :)

      • foodycatAlicia

Is that Ralph Macchio right above Chewbacca?

        • schadenfreudelicious

i’m getting a Ben Stiller vibe below Chewy to the right, and perhaps Juliette Lewis???

          • RebeccaKW

I think maybe David Krumholz rather than Stiller. Def Juliette Lewis. And Ferris Bueller-era Charlie Sheen at the hem in the red jacket. And Ashley Judd, maybe, in front of him.

            • schadenfreudelicious

agree on Krumholtz, this is turning into a rousing game of “identify the people on my crotch”….

      • charlotte

Is that Charlie Sheen towards the bottom?

        • RebeccaKW

I thought the same, Sheen from the 80’s.

    • Tatiana Luján

This is an example of how the hem lenght and the shoes can change a whole look from interesting to sister-wife on crack.

    • marlie

I actually like the dress. If you’re going to do a busy pattern and print, this would be the way to go, unlike Julianne Hough’s dress from earlier today. BUT… Andrea seriously needs to have it hemmed. Or pass it on to a much taller starlet. The shoes are inoffensive. Her hair is rather bland, and her makeup is doing her NO favors.

    • sablehunter

Why do I like this? Very “We Are The World”

    • filmcricket

      That dress is wearing her.

A Blanchett or an SJP could wear this, she’s not in that league yet. And while I agree going simple on the styling was a good choice so as not to fight with the dress, her head looks unfinished. It’s possible to be polished and simple at the same time.

That said, I quite like the dress and she should seek out more things in that green that’s near her face, it’s a good shade for her.

      • Qitkat

Even though I said earlier that the dress looked like a failed collage, I actually like the concept behind the idea. That green print is very flattering on her. I think part of the failure for me is that there is too much sameness in the width of the various prints, there needed to be narrow and medium ones as well as wide. And while Chewbacca and the Karate Kid on a print dress could be fun, the crotch placement of the faces, which may have been inadvertent, is just bizarre.

    • demidaemon

It’s cool, I think, but looking at the dress gives me eye twitches and minor seizures. There is a reason I was never into those “Magic Eye” (I think that’s what they were called) books.

    • l v

      Does. Not. Compute.

I had a class in art school entitled “Electronic Strategies for Artists” wherein we were to learn how to create “internet art” and use Photoshop and all that jazz. For an assignment, we had to take images from the web and use them in a new way. I like quilting, so I made a patchwork of photos and solid colors that, well, you see where I’m going here. So, yeah, I think this looks like an art school project. AND if you’re gonna wear it, have better shoes.

      • Qitkat

My assignment pre-dated the internet, but yes.

    • Qitkat

It makes me think that someone saw a David Hockney collage exhibit 20 years ago, and tried to recreate that essence. And failed.

Is this the companion piece to Julianne Hough’s Peter Pilotto Frankendress?
This one’s better, but not much. Plenty of crazy today.

    • jetpackdino

Some hot-air balloon out there has a hole in it.

    • VicD

That is the dress version of a corporate brochure cover, and that ain’t good.

    • MissusBee

Is she about to hide from Doc Hopper in front of a giant psychedelic billboard? Because then I totally get it.

Seriously though, points for avoiding the obvious, and there is cuteness here, but the length is wrong and her overall look needs to be more fierce to carry this off. You see the dress, but the girl disappears… in front of a giant billboard. Oh my god, I think she is messing with us.

    • charlotte

She looks a lot like a German actress called Anna Maria Mühe (google her), just with dark hair.

    • CommentsByKatie

Great on the model, awful on her. As a short woman, I have to say that if you aren’t tall enough to wear it, you shouldn’t wear it! This is a dress you can’t really alter without ruining it, so she should have kissed it goodbye and handed it to some willowy model type.

    • Bert Keeter

OK..chain her and her stylist together with Pilloti n the other chic’s stylist n throw in same murkey deep water!

    • Trisha26

What a silly dress that’s too long and doesn’t fit well.

    • gracedarling

As a fellow pale-skinned brunette… you need BLUSH, baby, BLUSH.

Love the dress on the runway, but it’s not the dress for you.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

That’s way too much dress for her. It’s cute, she’s cute, but they’re not cute together.

Love her….she was amazing in W.E.

    • Bridget Smith

Ok, this girl is seriously pretty – she was on the short-lived show Party Animals (with a pre-Doctor Who Matt Smith!), where she was filmed in many extreme close-ups wearing little-to-no make-up. She’s lovely. Whoever has been styling her for the red carpet is doing her a terrible disservice.

    • Colin Murphy

I like the lack of curve in the sillhouette how she’s wearing it compared to the runway look, I think the hemline should be a bit shorter though. And as a minute thing, the dress may have been a little better without the face picture layer. So, this look is decent.

    • amanda lynn

      where’d her makeup go?

    • Mar8

What’s with the crazy prints this week?

    • mhleta

Fashion should enhance a person’s beauty, not obscure it. This print steals attention from her lovely face, and that’s a disservice to her. Save this print for someone who wants the attention to go somewhere other than her face. May I have it now please?

    • Sara Munoz Munoz

That dress is stupid. The prints make no sense together, but even if they did it would still be an ugly dress.

    • disqus_sZRDWtvvVD

No, no, no! The double whammy of Proenza Schouler & Peter Pilotto in one day. Possibly my two least favorite designers. Way worse than Stella McCartney! 😉

    • Jessica Charlotte Siewierkiewi

THIS is a ‘what the fuck was I wearing 10 years ago?’ in the mismatched print competition.

    • marilyn

This is too much dress for her. She needs to be about 5 inches taller to carry it off. It is interesting. But, she is too little and pale to carry it off.
