• kschwarting

The dress and yoga hair are unfortunate, but she looks 100 times more alert than she did at the Oscars.

  • Sobaika

She looks very good. But, uh, she should have kept she shades on.

    • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

      Why?

      • Sobaika

They up the chic-factor, without them you can really notice the yoga hair and lack of makeup. And as some others have pointed out, her Botox addiction.

  • Jessi03

Is she going to a beach funeral?

  • Annabelle Archer

Random thoughts as they hit me:

Wow, that is a peppy widow.
Wow, no wonder she sticks to Carolina Herrera.
WOW that is a lot of botox.

    • greyhoundgirl

Yes, the botox is extreme–that unnatural tightness of the forehead…And, as others have noted, she looks so different.  The whole shape of her face has changed.  I noticed this at the Oscars when I had difficulty matching the name to the face.  She had a unique face before, less so now.  And I love “peppy widow”.  The sunglasses complete that look.

      • siriuslover

But at least she’s not giving us the duck lips anymore.

  • NC_Meg

She looks great, especially with the sunglasses. Not to say her face doesn’t look ok (because I think it looks better than it has in a while) but the shades are perfect and I want a pair.

    • kimmeister

      The shades are fabulous!

      • urbanamish

totally agree and desire.  anyone know who designed them?

  • TRSTL

I think she looks great here but…… I must confess, I would not have recognized that face without a heads up that is is her.

    • lobsterlen

That is maybe an extreme conclusion to jump to … Is she pregnant? One of the first things I noticed on myself and on others is how much my face changed and changed very early on. I don’t know if she dating anyone or even married. I haven’t read any pregnancy rumors for Renee. Her face looks so different. Either that or she had a ton of work done.

    • rosie5215

With the glasses on, I thought she was Naomi Watts for a second.

      • Fordzo

I feel like she went to her plastic surgeon and said, “Make me look like Naomi Watts,” because she does seem to be morphing into her.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=610791985 Aniela Marie Perry

        Me too! So different.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000088447181 Sam Smith

I was going to post the same exact comment, but I think she looks like Kate Winslet.  She certainly doesn’t look like her self.

  • http://twitter.com/watchinginkdry Krysta

OMG she appears to be . . . smiling??

  • Beth G

    Well… she’s less…. puffy…. around the eye… than she was.

    The dress is fine.

  • MissMariRose

Gasp! Does Carolina Herrera know Renee is cheating on her?

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZBFH32YG44LIIZYLSQPMBXMYCU Sarah

Good thing, too. She looks like a real human, and Herrera dresses always end up making her look like a stiff lollipop. Keep it up, I say.

      • MissMariRose

I know. This is the first time I’ve seen her in years where she looks like she can actually breathe.

  • librarygrrl64

The dress is flattering, but the hair and the lack of jewelry and color are….blah…

  • lobsterlen

She looks good here but her face looks totally different. I did not recognize her at all.

  • lilibetp

It’s not just Botox, she’s had something done to her eyes.

    • zuzu

They look wider.  She’s always had very squinty eyes, and here they’re not.

    • MilaXX

Looks like she got whatever Justin Timberlake had done.

      • Fordzo

Justin Timberlake looks stoned, though.  She looks like she’s had “work” done.

    • julesj

Has she had a boob job?

  • mhleta

I see nothing to complain about here. She could have used a stronger lip color and maybe a bauble or a belt, but she looks healthy, rested and elegant. I don’t feel this black is funereal because it’s light and the collar/ shoulder is very pretty.

  • imperfectlaura

All this look does is prove to me that she should veer away from Carolina Herrera more often.

  • another_laura

I can’t see the dress on my screen, but I think she looks lovely, hair and makeup are fine.  Yes, some work has been done, but she looks fresh and relaxed, so you go, darling, do what you need to do.

  • Pants_are_a_must

I can’t help but think smiling probably hurts her now, she’s stretched so tight.

This dress is nothing of nothing.

    • Fordzo

I was just going to say the same thing about her looking very tight.

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

That looks like pretty much unadorned skin – and it looks fantastic. I love the dress and I think she should have  done a little more with her hair and makeup to go with it.

  • Monday1900

There’s a good chance I’d like that dress if I could actually see it!  Unfortunate background.  Her poor face.

  • Jackie4g

Gee whiz, my mother had that dress in 1953.

  • ceceliadid

    She looks sedated.

  • SewingSiren

    Old dress. New face. Unrecognizable.

  • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

I wish TLo had posted this without her name so we could have fun guessing who it is.

    • SewingSiren

Yeah, I would have thought Claire Danes maybe?

      • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

or Laura Linney with a touch of Joan Allen.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

      Grandma Walton?

  • schadenfreudelicious

unrecognizable, but atleast she no longer appears to be sucking on a lemon 24/7…

  • MilaXX

Groom the brows or keep the glasses on.

    • Mismarker

Yes! Her brows are in utter disarray.  It may be part of the reason she is unrecognizable!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000905542323 Rhonda Shore

It’s a cute look.  She looks quite refreshed.  Her skin looks much better than it usually does.

  • smitnkitn

Scrolls down, forming the TLo comment in my head, “We’re sick to death of the black lace trend, especially in this awkward length.  And that Ma Ingalls hair is an abomination unto the Lord.”

  • Carla_Charlton

Normally not a fan of lace, but I like the pattern here — kind of art nouveau. A general question:  When it’s cold, does anyone ever wear something to cover their legs?

  • iheartbuffy

     funeral.

  • http://profiles.google.com/denise.alden Denise Alden

I hate to say it, but I think she looks great here.  And I think it has more than a little to do with some “cosmetic altering.”

  • kathryn_dc

    Uh oh. Eyebrows.

  • http://twitter.com/Nancer Nancer

Loved the top of the dress, love the shades. I think it’s hard to really tell how well (or not) this looks on her because of the dark background; the dress gets lost.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Wow, an actual smile from her, and not an expression of having just sucked on a particularly bitter lemon. The dress is just OK, though. Could have used a belt, and some color somewhere in the accessories, and SHE could have used some makeup. Plus, this is total errand-hair.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Was this the unveiling of her latest round of botox?

  • BrooklynBomber

    Hold me. I’m frightened.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/DAQBA4ARCT6OWBBVZEZM5TCFJA Jon

If I were her agent, I’d constantly send her false start dates for the next Bridget Jones movie, so she’d gain some weight. She can be any weight she wants, but she carries an extra fifteen pounds beautifully. I’m guessing a lot of actors would, if they’d give it a try.

  • frannyprof

She looks…refreshed. And, yes, more alert.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

I see Ms. Renee has learned a new facial expression. It works!

  • http://twitter.com/lisledanielle Danielle Lisle

She definitely looks like she’s mentally back on this planet.

  • Sara__B

Lacy schoolmarm, from the days of pointers and rapped knuckles. Snore.

  • peachy

who snatched the real renee and replaced her with this wax mannequin?!  thanks!!!

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

“We’ve replaced the real Renee with Folger’s Crystals.  Let’s see if anyone notices.”

  • amf0001

this dress might have looked better against a colored background,  but it kind of swallowed her here.
Also,  sunglasses on the step and repeat look ridiculous.
She’s been on my irrational hate list for a long time.  She’s still there.

  • Imasewsure

My isn’t see pleased with herself…. but she looks great in a really easy dress and killer shades. Don’t mind the hair at all for this outfit and venue

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

I actually really love this dress. She is looking quite “refreshed.”

    • margaret meyers

I know.  She had to get out and  make a public appearance looking flawless QUICK.  She was such a mess at the Oscars. That’s a great dress, and much-improved, improved face.

  • crash1212

I think she looks very pretty. I’m surprised how much I like the dress and her low-key face and hair are a nice combo. Well done!

  • libraangel

Well, Ms. Renee, you’re back and looking good

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

    She looks… different.  Good, though!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3OBBIZ6M6TBHXYURMKXYMTC7RE Rita

We used to love Ms. Zellweger for her girl next door quality, and then somewhere between “Cold Mountain” and marrying the country western singer she got too big for her britches.  Oh, but I’m supposed to comment on her dress.

  • marilyn

Girls with pasty skin color should not wear black without a major load of (faux) tan and makeup.

    • kathrineb

I disagree. Dita Von Teese can rock black with her beautiful alabaster skin. I’m standing up for pale girls everywhere. I gotta say I hate the look of fake tan, it’s not a crime to be pale.

This is not a good look but If Renée defined her brows and or wore some liner or lipstick I think she would look much better.

      • julnyes

Pale is different than pasty in my estimation. Being pale isn’t problematic, but pasty makes me think of someone looking wan or sickly and that is never a good look.

    • Corsetmaker

No, no, no! Fake tan is horrendous. A bit more make-up perhaps, but not fake tan!

It really ticks me off when people suggest someone pale ‘needs’ to use fake tan to make their skin darker and somehow more acceptable. Why is that ok?! Nobody would contemplate making the reverse suggestion!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

Yes, totally! The one thing that would bump this look up a notch is oompa loompa skin. What was she thinking, leaving the house in a black garment, with her natural skin color all hanging out for the world to see?!

  • PeaceBang

She looks great for 75. ??!

  • warnerave

she looks really good..better than i have seen her look in 2 years…no longer heavily botoxed…

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

I still think she’s slowly trying to morph herself into Naomi Campbell.

  • kikisayshi

    Loosen up, girl. Geez.

  • quiltrx

Pretty dress.  And her face seems to have calmed down from whatever the holy fuck was going on with it at the Oscars.

  • KittieLynnNYC

I found it hard to concentrate on the dress, mostly because this chick needs to eat a cheeseburger or two, like ASAP.

  • calimon

    Imposter!

  • http://profiles.google.com/sauchih Sau-Chih Feng

I’m glad she decided to skip the lemon-sucking before coming out.

  • http://twitter.com/amndad amanda lynn

I love the dress; i wish a chubby girl like me could rock it.  and her face!  whatever she had done (i can never tell) has worked wonderfully, we can see her eyes.  she looks WONDERFUL!

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

She has pretty skin.  I really don’t like that dress at all.  Jessi’s Beach Funeral totally sums it up.

  • ccm800

    someone got their eyes did.
