  • A trifle too restrained, really for the venue and film.but a pretty look nonetheless.

    • Vlasta Bubinka

nope- calling it Dowager Empress nightgown realness

  • Very pretty.

  • ChiliP

It’s pretty, but it’s not wowing me. The bodice is too busy.

But my god, she is absolutely stunning.

    • gabbilevy

It’s funny. The dress is nothing special, but it’s setting her off fabulously.

      • Introspective

agreed. which in the end seems a well thought, calculated choice on her (or the stylist’s) part. either way someone on her team is doing a bang up job of making sure that no matter what she wears she sells her own beauty more so than the clothes’ beauty…

    • 3boysful

I’ve always wanted to be a blue-eyed brunette.  That is a stunning combination.

      • You can. Blue contacts and a really good dye job. Or a wig. But will it go with your skin tone?

I did the opposite for Halloween: Cobalt blue hair to go with my brown eyes and I have an olive complexion. It actually looked good!

  • QuincyTKatz

Pretty make-up. The dress is kinda just there- neither good or bad, it’s just there.
But the hair, come on, some effort would be appreciated!

  • She and Yvonne Strahovski need to be cast as sisters sometime. I’ve seen every episode of Chuck and sometimes I still get confused! 😛

  • Sobaika

I’m not too big a fan of the top half of this dress and it’s way too beachy-casual for a movie premiere, no?

    • SassieCassy

why is she into that terrycloth fabric lately

  • AnnaleighBelle

  • HomeOfficeGirl

    No to the ruffles…

  • Steve Carell looks like he’s trying to grab her in every photo. It’s kinda creepin’ me out.
The dress is just ok, it’s not inspiring much feeling in me one way or the other.

    • christinewithanx

Haha, it does! I wonder if they thought of that ahead of time…

  • imperfectlaura

I don’t mind the dress, but I don’t like the way this look was styled, particularly the eye makeup.

  • ceceliadid

She tends toward modest looks, which is okay.  Not everybody needs to go to slutsville.

But the dress looks too much like a wine bottle bag.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

I kind of want to live in Slutsville.  That sounds fun.

      •  I’m sure it’s a fun place; Halle Berry is apparently the new mayor.

    • Imasewsure

You are right… a wine bottle bag!! Good call

    • SugarSnap108

Ha!  You’re so right.  And yet I like it.  Or maybe that’s why I like it.

  • Imasewsure

I’m actually looking at the dress in spite of that dreadful background so I must love it. She looks great – don’t mind the busy neckline since the rest of the look is so simple

  • Needs a little more boob to fill out that top.

    • alyce1213

Couldn’t disagree more.  She’s got the perfect body to wear a deep plunge and not look trashy.

  • aeb1986

I like the back better than the front. She looks pretty though.

  • ankali

  • lobsterlen

Is that Steve Carell  getting ready to devour her?

    Its a nice dress.

    This movie looks horrible.

    •  I saw the movie last night at a preview screening and it was surprisingly not bad.  It’s not a masterpiece or anything, but it had lots of genuinely funny moments.

  • alyce1213

Not everyone can wear this, but she has the flair and the slender stature to do it well.  It’s pretty, the detail is interesting, and she looks great.

  • l_c_ann

I don’t think the neckline froufrou flatters her, but (dang) she got billing above Alan Arkin AND Jim Carey.

  • The last photo is pretty awesome; it looks like Carell is holding her head back with one hand, and about to fondle her boobs with the other.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Nice dress, but I think she should have worn her hair up.

  • kimmeister

It’s not hideous, but I just don’t like the dress at all, on anybody.  A gathered waist only looks good with a fuller skirt, not a straight one.

    • Yep. I don’t like the dress either. It’s kind of dowdy. She makes it look a little better than the model does, but I don’t think anyone could give it a Wow Factor.

  • SugarSnap108

It’s not a wowzers, but I like it.  She has such a beautiful face, I think simpler looks suit her well.

  • BayTampaBay

When did Olivia lose the blonde hair she sports in the Revlon ads and TV commercials?

  • Trisha26

Not crazy about the gown, the fabric looks cheap. I wish she’d spent as much time on her hair as on her eyes.

  • MilaXX

It’s okay. Not bad, just not setting the world on fire.

  • elleg929

The dress is scroll up fug.

  • Olivia absolutely does nothing for me – looks and fashion. Anytime I see an overwhelming positive response, I have to go back and stare at the photos, willing myself to see what they see. I don’t.

  • Annabelle Archer

Maybe if she lost the overlay, and the lace, and changed it to a halter neck.  And did something with the hair. Maybe?
Mostly it looks cheap and if there is a criminal usage of elastic.

  • looks too much like a nightgown.  an itchy scratchy one.

  • libraangel

Quick Olivia: take that lace caterpillar off you neck! (Funny the way the poster in the back looks like the guy is going to grab her!)

  • crash1212

I really love this on her. Finally, the dreaded plunging-to-the-navel neckline that doesn’t look hoochy. I love the casual, but done hair and her make-up and jewelry seem perfect to me. Nice job. That movie looks terrible though.

  • The mesh in the bodice is just ugly but what is amazing is how comfortable she looks. The dress isn’t puddling around her feet so she can walk and she is giving off a great relaxed vibe. She doesn’t look like she would knife you to get a few minutes out of the Spanx and heels.

  • lrober03

That fabric looks remarkably similar to my back seat

  • decormaven

Not fond of the choice of lace on the bodice, but that’s a stunning ring she’s sporting.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

The dress looks too small on top and too big on the bottom and the stuff near her face….eeeewwww.

  • MsOlympia

That is a very Olivia Wilde dress.

  • lizlemonglasses

Fashion-wise, I think the dress is “meh,” and I’m tired of her ombre hair — but not fashion-wise, I can see why she’s on my husband’s Laminated List.

  • peachy

    wow — 3 for 3 ‘yuks’ today

  • i love her posing in front of that photo.

  • Cousin_Rose

OK Halle, this is how you do a deep plunging neckline.

  • guest2visits

Very pretty but the material makes me think someone is standing by with a lint roller. Looks rough and stratchy too.

  • E. D.

    I really like it!

  • bd73

love it. it’s a werq. the dress is pretty, the tailoring is flattering. her hair looks perfectly simple, eye makeup is great. and her eyes, well…

  • lilibetp

Don’t like the hair at all.  Prefer her makeup to have a little color instead of all smokiness.  The dress is okay, but something seems off in the fit.  Can’t really see the shoes.  Nice engagement ring.

  • It’s pretty, but boring.

  • kathrineb

That kind of makeup doesn’t work on everyone but I like it on her!

  • Carly Warnock

I like this. A lot of war paint though.
