This is a huge improvement for her. She’s a stunning woman.

      • Rhonda Shore

She really is.  The only problem is that the hue of the dress is the EXACT same shade as the carpet!!!

    • schadenfreudelicious

you really can wear those bridesmaid’s gowns again!

      • Anathema_Device

        Oh god. Hilarious. Thank you.

      • ChiliP

        Racoon eyes. Fried hair.
        Old tangerine bridesmaid’s dress.
        Why, Morena, why?

I actually like this look (for her…she has a shaky track record) but your comment made me laugh and I couldn’t resist a haiku :)

        • charlotte

Okay, now I have to haiku her, too. Vlasta started a trend.

          Orange dress looks great.
          She is an utter beauty.
          What is with that hair?

    • Danielle Lisle

I’m still on the fence with that large side peplum-thing, but that color is gorgeous.

    • Donyelle

basic but the color and drape are beautiful

    • Pattie knitter

It looks like she needs the patented TLo hoick.   The color is nice though.

      • ankali

Yeah, I wish the bodice fit her better. I’m a little concerned about this color suddenly being trendy, but that’s more for selfish reasons since I don’t look great in orange. Suits Morena, though.

    • Anathema_Device

Overall pretty, but her makeup looks a little muddy? Or something? Anyone?

    • charlotte

The dress is gorgeous and I don’t even mind the peplum so much, but is she trying to channel Whitney Houston with that hair and makeup?
Girl. You. Are. Stunning. Embrace it for Inara’s sake!

      • KateShouldBeWorking

Given the raw material, it confuses me how she can look like that. Seriously, HOW does that happen?

    • Rand Ortega

The gown is rather dated & cheesy, but the color is gorgeous on her. & w/ her being so incredibly stunning, that classes the entire look up quite a bit. A bit more bling (either bigger earrings or a pendant & some bracelets) would’ve been nice.

    • Kiltdntiltd

She seems to have the opposite problem from Halle Berry. She’s a stunning woman, and yet always manages to fall short of really showing herself to best advantage.

      • Rand Ortega

I thought about that. Her style always indicates an attempt to downplay her numerous gifts. Maybe a modesty & demureness makes her stop short of displaying her sexiness & innate glamour outside of her roles?

        • Kiltdntiltd

Such a natural modesty well becomes anyone so seriously blessed in the gorgeosity department. She can still dress with restraint and class, while also looking jaw dropping lovely.

She needs a stylist, or at least a better one.

I nearby apply for the post.

          • Rand Ortega

She would be more than lucky to have you. Class is definitely the foundation of your many talents.

            • Kiltdntiltd

Why Suh, you ah makin’ me color up right now.
              I’m very flattered.

      • AnnaleighBelle

I was just thinking that she could actually pull off that last Halle Berry Tonight show illusion netting dress – if it were fit to her body.  And she didn’t have to sit down.

        • Kiltdntiltd

That dress surely needed a bit less Va Va in its Voom. Morena could be able to do it, but I don’t think it’s how she sees herself.

          • AnnaleighBelle

I guess it would be pretty blinding, like a supernova.

            • Kiltdntiltd

And best viewed from a discrete distance.

      • gracedarling

I believe that’s what’s referred to as ‘pulling a Jolie’.

    • urbanamish

boring, but still a personal best. which is sad.  that’s still not remotely good enough for this exotic beauty.

    • Tatiana Luján

      Her haircut is terrible!
      She is so gorgeous.

      • urbanamish

it reminds me of my perm growing out in the 80’s.

        • halleygee

    • AnnaleighBelle

This woman is breathtakingly beautiful, but I’ve yet to see her in any non-role clothes that do her justice.  Why does this gown fit like that on her chest?  Why is the “waist” up around her ribcage (front view)?

I just threw away an Esquire magazine that said she’s the most beautiful woman in the world.  I wouldn’t argue against that at all – but I’d rather see her in jeans and a tee shirt than a lot of the gowns she wears.  Jeebus, it’s such a waste.

      • kimmeister

The bodice is cut for someone with a shorter torso than her, so it is simultaneously riding too low on her bust while the peplum is starting too high, which makes her waist look thicker than it is.

        • AnnaleighBelle

It’s a crime.  I see her on Homeland and my breath catches, she’s so beautiful.  Before I watched that show and only saw her on the red carpet, I never looked at her twice.

          • NoGovernmentName

Oh, wait until you watch Firefly. Your breath will be GONE, and you will be even more offended by how bad she looks. Such a pretty woman who looks so bad all the time. It’s a fashion crime.

    • Anya&Paul

She’s such a beautiful woman, but she so rarely looks in her public appearances.  Literally what is happening on top of her head??

      • kimmeister

A delicate little robin is building a nest?

    • libraangel

    • MilaXX

      Prom, bad hair included

    • Pudgy Possum

The dress isn’t quite the right fit. Otherwise, she’s looking nice.

    • bd73

::drops mic, walks away::  ….:: comes back:: wtf, mb?!?! have you heard of headbands? the nice thin jewelry kind? you’re allowed to sweep the curls off your face. they can run free – with product – away from l’visage. this is not new. there’s an entire section of the hair industry devoted to the taming and prettification of curly hair. all kinds of curly hair. and that dress?! what are you hiding with that waist flap? what do you have to hide in your midsection?! nothing? then stop it.

i want you to take this pink ticket and report to style school at once.

    • kathrineb

      Heavy and aging look.

    • LaSylphide

Love the dress and the color, but it just looks odd on her. The top doesn’t quite fit and it’s too low.

    • Lily-Rygh

    • ThaliaMenninger

It’s a weird look, but she usually dresses so badly, I’m thinking this is a step forward.

    • j_anson

The dress is fine. In fact, in the right light (later pictures) it’s fantastic. But WHAT is up with her HAIR?

    • quiltrx

Not the best she’s ever looked, but the dress is beautiful and her hair is almost-there.  And how did she match so perfectly with the carpet????

    • Jaeda Laurez

Pretty. Finally. Aside from the hair- i really do prefer the short hair, even though this hair looks more…Homeland-y.

    • NoGovernmentName

      Oh girl. I give up.

    • Imasewsure

Looks boring and pageanty to me… don’t like the fit either but I think I almost always feel like these hang kind of low…

    • AViewer44

She’s so gorgeous ….. But no.

    • bertkeeter

I like the duck tape version better!

    • joancarol

She’s gorgeous, but she smiles like a girl who wore braces.

    • jennsilentcrow

That bodice! It looks like some seams fell out or something,Grandma just didnt have time to finish it before she had to scoot off to the dance. Hairstyle and makeup are 100% “never gotten ready for a prom before”.
(too bad cause the color is gorg!)

    • butter nut

i love it on her.  i just want to pull the whole thing up a good inch or two.  it looks like its slowly sliding down throughout the night.

    • Austen Jane

 the 80s were 30 years ago.

    • aquamarine17

her hair is not flattering at that length and now curly, a crime. I’ve mentioned it before. at the moment, she would do well with some kind of long hair extension. her bare shoulders are incompatible short hair, even in casual clothes. the dress color is great. longer hair (or hair up in a great do, without the bare shoulders) plus good makeup would have made a difference. i like her confidence and she is beautiful.

    • Nicole Ellis Semple

This is all wrong. Just wrong.

    • Deedles

She normally straightens her hair within an inch of its life. I have hair like hers (in the amount of curl and length) and the cut she has for the straight hair days doesn’t translate into being a good cut for the times when you just want to go curly–triangle head, anyone? I applaud her for wanting to go natural, but if she’s going to do that, she needs a cut that can go both ways–straight or curly (and her stylist had better do a little homework on the proper products for the natural days!!!).

    • warnerave

the best i’ve seen her look…

    • marlie

I think she looks great – WAAAY better than she has in her last couple of public appearances. The dress is pretty, if standard, though that side-peplum isn’t working for me. It’s also a great color, but I would have preferred the color that the model was wearing.

    • Darva Sutra

Am I the only one who saw the thumbnail and thought, “oh, Ashley Judd is looking pretty good”?  And that is NOT a complement to Monica.  She needs to revert back to the sporty pixie cut that flattered her stunning features, and ease up on the muddled eye makeup.

    • amf0001

it’s a size too small,  too tight at the hips,  too low at the bust.  But a great color! However her hair and make up are distracting here.

    • Bakerlooline

    • librarygrrl64

It’s a bit too long, but I think it’s a good choice for her. Not perfect, but she looks better in this than in her usual choices. She’s such a beautiful woman to begin with, of course.
