    I think that is darling!

  • It’s all very … orange.  Dress, lips, cheeks. She would have been better off with the tomato-ey color the model is wearing.

  • Sobaika

Not too many could successfully wear that color, and the shoes were a bad choice regardless of the orange piping.

    • See, I like the shoes (though maybe not with that outfit).  That orange, on the other hand, makes my retinas hurt.

      • Sobaika

I like the shoes too, it’s a bad choice for this outfit though. Nude wasn’t the way to go.

      • Louise Bryan

I like the shoes, but I think the clutch is wrong.  And I’m SO glad she didn’t wear the pants.

        • roadtrip1000

At first I thought the clutch was a wooden cigar box.

  • Why are we doing that thing over the hip/waist?  It seems to show up in various forms on a lot of dresses, and I just don’t think it’s a part of a woman’s body where accent is wanted — it’s certainly not a part of my body where I would want an accent, though I acknowledge that if I were wearing this dress an accent on the waist/hip might be important to draw attention away from other aspects of my appearance that might be distracting.

    • kimmeister

I think the white triangle would have more flattering had it actually been at her waist, to visually nip her in, rather than right below her waist.

      • MoHub

And it needed to be on both sides or not there at all.

I also think ivy green shoes would have been fabulous with this.

  • Vickiefantastico

Can I just say that I LOVE the pants under a dress look? I’ve never been able to rock the look myself, but I have seen it done well.

    • cleverlady

Yes… it would have been more adventurous  had she worn the pants too. Great look. Now it’s just a boring dress in a questionable color… could have raised the bar.

    • ballerinawithagun

Yes, I love the pants with this look!

    • LaSylphide

Agree about preferring the look with pants; kind of exotic.

    •  And it’s such a casual event, the pants would have been perfectly right there, with some nice sandals.

    • MoHub

Flashback! I had several outfits in the late ’60s/early ’70s that were elongated tunics—long enough to be worn alone as dresses—over pants. I practically lived in those.

  • MilaXX

That piping saved that shoe from being yet another boding silly putty pump. Cute look overall.

  • Alyssa

She definitely didn’t choose the right accessories for this dress, which itself is glaringly bright. I like the color, but it needed more fun in the styling. And for some reason, I’m seeing a giant shark tooth.

  • Missy Covington

So that shade of orange is apparently a thing now, huh? Citrus producers rejoice.

Shoes don’t go (unable to tell if they would be cute independent of the dress), and the dress hangs like thin, spongy craft foam material that kids use. What is it called? Foamies or something like that.

    It’s a bright-orange Foamies dress.

    • kimmeister

I think orange was last year’s Pantone color of the year.

    •  I hope not. It’s my least favorite color.

      • MoHub

Personal preference. It’s one of my favorites and looks great on me.

  • MissMariRose

I like it. But then, I’m a sucker for orange.

  • Tatiana Luján

The dress looks too big on her, but I don’t hate it. Love the color.

    • lindsmh

Yep. Super cute dress, but it doesn’t look like it fits her.

  • alyce1213

I kind of like the slacks she chose not to wear — nice fabric.  Not with the dress, with a good top.

  • lizajane1776

Not the world’s most flattering dress, but she looks cute in it, fun.

  • Trisha26

Cute overall look! Bonus points for the shoes, not too matchy, and huge bonus points for not wearing the pants – ugh! But what’s with the odd bodice cutaway thing? That makes a design feature look like a fit issue.

  • butter nut

    me likey.

  • jw_ny

That orange is searing in the pics of Michelle.  I thought it was fluorescent until I saw the pic of the model, which is a lovely burnt orange color.   Hopefully fluorescent never comes back!

The straight across neckline looks too high on her…uncomfortable, and that cut out at her arm is an odd shape.  I’m not digging it on her, but do like it on the model.

  • teensmom99

maybe I’m showing my age, but I like the shoes with the dress.  The dress looks too big on her.

  • decormaven

Whoever was the graphic designer for that step and repeat should be tortured in the hot noonday sun. Not one celebrity who’s been photo’d against it has looked worth a damn. I’m starting to get an irrational hate on for the sponsors of the event or whoever signed off on such dreck. As for this look, its a’rite.

  • Annabelle Archer

  • nice dress, but its impossible to tell whether it clashes with her hair and/or skin tone, or whether its just that terrible backdrop that fucks it all up.

    nice shoes.

also, apropos of nothing, monaghan has a very sexy voice.

  • peachy

horrible background. meh dress. forgot who she is. (and let’s let it stay that way)

  • Very pretty. And such a great color.

  • Anybody who can rock orange like that deserves respect.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

It’s a really pretty dress and I love the shoes, but it is at least 2 sizes too big for her.

  • libraangel

Don’t wake me up: I’m falling asleep looking at this outfit

  • ankali

Cute. Love the orange piping on the shoes. She could have done more with the hair.

  • I like the sideways variation on the arrow-pointing-to-uterus theme. There’s something fresh and playful about it.

  • Indigo54

Love the color!!!! Triangle placement looks a little off but not bad.  Is that a purse or a block of wood?  Let’s hope she loses it and never finds it again!

  • E. D.

I like everything but the bag and shoes.

  • The dress (on the model) is perfection but she can not carry this off. The fit is wrong, the inset makes her look long-waisted and her makeup and hair look too girlish whereas she should have been aiming for sleek.

  • annrr

I like the dress and the shoes, but not how the dress fits her.  And I think her make up takes it into too matchy/ orange territory.

  • Yawn….. move a long… nothing to see here.

However, it looked fierce on the model

  • guest2visits

Really nice on her, orange isn’t my favorite but she looks beautiful in it.  The shoes may be nice too but they don’t photog. as well.

  • Cute and sharp.

  • stubbornthoughts

I love her and the majority of this dress (and the color on her!). But man, I’m not feeling that white chunk that basically says, “THIS IS WHERE THE BABY GETS MADE.”

  • Cute dress, wrong shoes.

  • Diego!

Did she dive into botox? Her right eybrow has no change whatsoever in any of these pictures!

  • That damn yellow backdrop needs to be BURNED, it is screwing up the colors on all of today’s looks!  However, I think she is great.  Even the nude shoes are working for me because of their impeccable lines and piping.

  • barbarienne

If it weren’t for that color, the dress would be Yawn City. As it is, it’s still Yawn Town.

Kudos to her for the color choice, and I suppose a more elaborate outfit would get overwhelming in that color. Glad she didn’t pair it with the pants on the model.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

     Really, really cute look!

  • ThaliaMenninger

It looks both too big and like it’s choking her. Which is weird.

  • leave_Blake_alone

    I think she looks great!

  • Welp, I’ve found the shoes I want most in the world.

  • Frank Lithium

    Bold and sassy.

  • librarygrrl64

    LOVE it!
