    Um…. wtf???

    • Funkykatt

      perfectly stated

  • Sobaika

I feel bad for her – she had to show up at the same event as Teyonah Parris, looking like this.

    • Rand Ortega

(& by Dayum I mean “exactly”)

    • Eva_baby

+1. a thousand times. This is tragic.

    • aeb1986

haha i was just gonna say that! the last T-Lo post said the rest of the day would likely be a disapointment after Teyonah and Tilda. Then this…. T-Lo, once again, you were right

  • jackiexx

    holy scrolldown fug batman!!

  • Missy Covington

She looks pretty and happy and [she turns to the side] oh honey, no. They’ve stolen the lining out of half your dress!

  • gabbilevy

Is it sheer over her butt? WTF?

  • In_Stitches

Hahaha, when I saw the thumb nail and before I scrolled down, I wondered if she was in character. Such a meek, blandly pretty color with a conservative, normal neckline is not what I have come to expect from good ol’ JJ. Sure, the skirt makes it look like a salute to synchronized swimming costumes, but I commend her convictions.

  • mary McCall

It is all bad… But the last photo made me shudder. Wow!

  • Can I get the one the model behind the one in this dress is wearing in the runway shot? It’s a much better dress — not for January; just in general.

  • Guest

I feel bad for her – she was looking like this at the same event as Teyonah Parris.

    • MilaXX

so was Jessica in that granny pink flowered dress. Sadly Christina stayed true to form and also looked awful.

      • formerlyAnon

Stars, starlets and celebs of other ilk: May I ask? Stylists. Why DO y’all pay them, again?

  • Who dosed her drink with a happy pill? I’ve never seen her so light in spirit.
“Did you run over a small child or something, January?”

She may be happy with herself, but I don’t think it’s that hiddy dress that’s putting her there.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

Yes, I thought pretty much the same thing … “How nice that you can be so happy with yourself in spite of that horrible dress!”

    • oldbobbydraper

don’t try to get on january’s good side, she no longer has one.

    • drdarke

I almost like this dress in front for its easy breezy flirtiness – then she turns around, and I hate it.

I think people have been sent home on PROJECT RUNWAY for less than what that dress does to her ass….

  • Ab so lute ly NOT

    • Vlasta Bubinka

      Clouds whither in blue
      Nightgown fantasy realness
      Sheer lady ice dance

  • Nay. Someone must have told her she has PBF (permanent bitch face) because she’s smiling all over the place this year.

    • Little_Olive

I’m borrowing that acronym right this second.

      • Feel free! I’m sure I borrowed it from somewhere else!

  • I am always amazed at the difference between the celebrity photos and the runway ones. I’ve decided a big part of the difference is attributable to the “active vs. static” nature of the display, and this dress is a case in point. It seems to flow so beautifully on the runway model–the skirt is light and airy looking, the fabric looks like it has some life. Whereas, when just planted in front of a camera, the effect is the polar opposite: it looks heavy and lifeless, just another mash-up of sheer and solid weight material, a lot like the 5000 others we’ve seen this season.

I do like that color on her. Down here that’s the classic “Carolina Blue”.

  • It looks like a costume for an interpretive dance performance. The seaming on the satin and sheer side sits all wrong on her.

  • Simple case of ugly dress syndrome. There is no known cure.

  • Deac82

I think its interesting, but its not a red carpet look. Waaaay too resort

  • Woo hoo! Sexy bathing attire…for the 1920’s!

  • Rand Ortega

Sorry…no. There’s something a little too Twyla Tharp/interpretive dance/ballerina for me. It doesn’t seem to fit the occasion, either.

    • Little_Olive

      “Twyla Tharp”

Dying here. It’s actually just like the poster at the music room in high school.

    • Vlasta Bubinka

I can hear Robin Wiliiams in The birdcage: Twila Twila Twila Twila!

  • schadenfreudelicious

is she heading out to ballet class afterwards??…

    • Little_Olive

      Dead on.

    • This dress covers: ice skating, ballet and fairy princess. Once size fits most.

      • schadenfreudelicious

indeed, not many dresses can cover a double axel, first position, and waiting for prince charming quite so effectively!

  • MilaXX

YUCH! Bad hair, unflattering dress. I really hope she considers using wigs for her next movie roles, because the damage to her hair is making for some really unflattering RC’s.

  • Little_Olive

    Hahahahahahahhahahahahah…. *takes a breath* hahahahahaa….

  • Carrieanno

It’s good to see someone wearing something not from a fall or pre-fall collection. Enough with the cold weather stuff (even if it is snowing out my window).

  • Jessi03

Is she going to do rhythm gymnastics?

  • mhleta

It’s not her dress. It needs a taller, bronzier gal. On JJ it looks sloppy and frosty. And her hair looks beyond fried. She does look very happy, though, and I love her shoes!

  • Ediths_Head

That doesn’t even look pretty on the model! Girl, what were you thinking?

  • SewingSiren

Oh my god! The light blue was so pretty ……… then I saw the sweep. Gag. And the side view.. even worse.

  • What in god’s name is that.

  • NDC_IPCentral

Oh MY, that last photo, which I actually hadn’t looked at in the first scroll through is horrifying.

And those shoes reflect UP. I wasn’t a Catholic schoolgirl, but a lot of my friends were and are, and the old saw about “patent leather shoes reflect up” is well-ingrained. And with, errr, this dress, that reflection may convey TMI, indeed.

    • Erica_Vuitton

I thought the same thing and didn’t linger on the shoe shot as to avoid knowing JJ better than I’d like to.

    • kimmeister

I’ve never heard of that old saw but it is wise indeed! Also, her earrings look like t pins were stuck into her lobes

  • librarygrrl64

    Scrolldown fug.

  • This is a good look for her, but I think she should have worn it a little looser, like the model.

  • Snailstsichr

Hem it at your hips and go play tennis.

  • Dear Lady Stars – ALL lady stars:

Upper thigh is gauche and there is no place on any red carpet for it.
Except Cannes, I’ll give you Cannes.

    Thank you.

    • It’s disturbing that there needs to be a “memo” about that!

  • I am so done with you January Jones.

  • Ice dancer.

  • I get that she doesn’t want to go totally Betty Draper, but this is just boring – and the skirt reminds me of a dance costume I had in 1985. And I had those shoes in 1997.

Something about that dress reminds me of the outfit I wear to the gym. The color scheme? How it makes her boobs look? The distinctive leotard feel to it? Doesn’t help that her hair looks kind of dry and sweaty at the same time. I’m glad she’s happy though!

  • jetpackdino

Sheer, pale fabric that trails and flutters from a woman’s posterior always troubles me.

  • Imasewsure

I think this is really pretty on her (except for the side shot) but it’s just a bit dull… dig the shoes

  • Susan Collier

Especially not digging the additional sheer “modesty” mudflap. In all, the dress looks too summery for March, unless this premiere is in Penang.

    • I cannot stop laughing at the phrase “modesty mudflap.” Or stop wondering how I can ease it into conversation…

    • Vlasta Bubinka

Where’s Spinal Tal when you need them to adapt “Big Bottom” and the (in)famous mud flap line? Oh Nigel Tufnel, come here!

  • EEKstl

This is a dress which BEGS for appropriate styling. She needed to “zhuzhh” (TLo, HOW do you spell that???) it up. Jewelry, makeup, hair, shoes, it needs to be super sharp. BOR-ING!

  • libraangel

I want to like this, but…the color? seasick blue/green? ( and why do models always have cutesy, pretentious names?)

    • Cutesy, pretentious? She’s Belgian. It’s a foreign name.

      • libraangel

I know, but even on the ‘model shows’ the American girls are told to pick out trendy artsy names

  • I mean…no jewelry? And it gets a bit ice-dancerish around back…

  • Janet B

Really dislike this from head to toe.
From the waist up this reminds me of an old tennis dress from my youth.
January sure does look pleased with herself, she shouldn’t but she does.

  • Tracy_Flick

OMG. Tennis dress + nighty + curtains. Nooooooooooooo.

  • Anz

From the side, she appears to be wearing a swimsuit with a petticoat what dafuq…?

    • dafuq was my reaction, too.

    • I’m going to try to use “what dafuq” at least once a day from now on.

  • PeggyOC

This is like the 360 equivalent of a “scroll-down fug”. It’s a pan around fug. Ok, ok, ok, great googly-moogly girl, what are you wearing?

    • littlemac8

The last photo caused me to burst out with “OH HONEY NO!”

  • crash1212

    Scroll down fug.

  • MoHub

    No. More. Sheer. Please!

  • BrooklynBomber

Awful. Hips upward, it’s a cute dress. But in addition to the awfulness of the sheer panels, this is a dress that doesn’t look flattering on one of the slimmest women in Hollywood. No, it only approaches halfway decent when it’s loose, as on the model. Ridiculous.

  • I feel second-hand embarrassment for her.

  • Indigo54

I thought that was an Ivy dress at first. What a horror show!

  • MaryAtRealityTea

Tennis dress from Daisy Buchanan’s closet? Shoes also look orthopedic. Ick.

  • One of the costumes from “The Real Housewives On Ice.”

  • Qitkat

Ooohh, I was ready to give this dress a pass…until she turned around. Oh my gosh, that is worse than accidentally tucking your skirt into your panties.

  • formerlyAnon

This would be SO much more flattering if it weren’t skin tight.
Nothing to be done about that sheer portion, though. Could have gotten the same contrast in texture and drape without the sheer and it wouldn’t look so much like a drill team costume at a religious high school.

  • NC_Meg

Ice skater meets flapper? Good Lord, what a weird dress.

  • So glad she wore the stripper heels. It shows that she understands the dress.

  • maggiemaybe

Those shoes are totally bumming my high.

  • Her hair looks like a bad wig. Awful.

  • VeryClaire

It’s a cute casual summer dress minus the sheer panel. Not exactly movie premier material. Does she dislike jewelry?

  • No. No, no,no,no. NO!!! She looks like a little kid who pulled one of mom’s old prom dresses out of a box in the attic. An I can’t even with the hair.

  • Yikes.

  • jmorino08

I was almost on board until that last picture. Who is responsible for this nonsense?

  • BaddestMotherEver

A little something from Michelle Kwan’s consignment sale.

  • Ooh, honey, NO. Clearly she wasn’t that sold on the dress either, since she didn’t bother to do her hair, just barely did her makeup, and borrowed a pair of her grandma’s shoes.

    • Indigo54

Dag! You made me spill my soda!

      • Sorry about that! 😉

  • PastryGoddess

Her bum is shitting sheer fabric. How is this a good thing?

Also hot oil treatments are your friend

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

It’s a pretty dress and it really suits her coloring, but her hair is nasty. Makeup is too soft for all that white and pale blue. And like the model, she should have been in black sandals. Also, she needs statement jewelry.

  • mjude

    nothing cute about that

  • LaSylphide

Oh goody, another transparent skirt. How original. I guess we should be grateful we don’t have to look at her panties. Come on JJ. Get your groove back.

  • I think JaJo just pioneered the scrolldown-and-turnaround fug.

  • oldbobbydraper

she is the personification of bland.

  • Heeeeeeeeelllllz NO

  • Jacqueline Wessel

I thought she looked really cute until I got to the side view. So unecessary.

  • PrunellaV

The only good thing about this look is the smile.

  • I like that she changes up her look all the time and I love this dress. Maybe it’s not enough for a premiere? Who knows but it’s a pretty dress and the hair, make-up and shoes are perfect with it.

  • oohsparkley!

I was going to defend it and say she looked pretty. But then I looked again and she looks pretty because she is pretty, while the dress really is bad. I think I always want to defend her just because I want to defend the underdogs. I really wish January and Christina would get a fabulous stylist.

  • I thought: Oh. Ok. Yawn. Then she turned with a walking pose and I was like: Oh….. a bathing suit. Not good. Not good at all.

  • PeaceBang

Ooof. There’s a special kind of hiddy going on here: the happy hiddy. She looks so smiley and pleased with herself and yet every element of the look is atrocious.

  • tereliz

This looks like resort wear. Not a dress for an opening for a hit tv show. Time for cocktails on the lanai!

  • myristica_fragrans

i really like this dress. too bad she failed at accessorizing.

  • marilyn

Its a little early for summer dresses. That one is a hodgepodge of fabrics. I don’t know if I like it or not.

  • stubbornthoughts

That’s one poorly designed iceskating costume.

  • “You guys, for real. I am not an ice bitch who is furious about getting sidelined on my TV show. I am super-friendly and approachable. See? I’m smiling and dressing in this easy-demure way. See? See how hard I’m trying?”

  • Maybe for Dancing with the Stars…otherwise No!

  • MissAmynae

First thought: She has such a pretty smile.
Second thought: Why couldn’t this have just been the blue in a pretty a line or circle skirt, with the white again for trim?

  • gracedarling

I think this could have worked if she’d gone up a size and done something a bit thirties to her hair. Still – nice to see her looking so happy!

  • Anniebet

Tennis dress meets nightie. Fight ensues.

  • Louise Bryan

Is she heading to a pool party after this? First reaction: “Oh, blah!”

  • Last photo: Ice skating snow queen. And she looks so washed out.

  • looks better with the looser cut

  • Trisha26

Hate everything about this ballroom dancing/ice dancing fiasco. And that scarecrow hair. And those sandals.

  • She paid someone to make her look this bad. Frightening thought.

  • Melissa Brogan

Aw, I was so happy for a minute–
Look at January Jones smiling! Girl must have given her hair stylist the night off, but she’s so pretty when she smiles
Look at that nice icy white and blue on her, works so well on her

  • Jennifer Coleman

This dress is going out of its way to be weird.

  • I thought the year of sheer was over, but looks like it’s doing an encore. When will this trend END? I’m so tired of sheer fabrics over short skirts or see through blouses. Enough already!

  • VicksieDo

That dress looked much better on the model. And she has nary a piece of jewelry or even toenail polish. Gotta commit to a dress like this with more than a smile… I think this dress needs a really tall lady to wear it well.

    • amaranth16

I’m pretty sure she’s got nude toenail polish on – but yes to everything else.

      • VicksieDo

I just meant it needed to have a color 🙂

        • amaranth16

          I’ll drink to that!

  • mmc2315

Uff. Terrible in too many ways to count. Not your color, not your dress, not your hair…

  • That is one stupid dress. She looks so cute and happy though! I love the makeup!

  • annrr

I like the dress altho it looked better on the model bc it was looser and looked more breezy. I think it is the hair and shoes that bring the look down. Her hair is absolutely tragic.
