I feel like I’m being so judgy right now, but ick. He just does not look good.
That’s what it’s all about! =)
He just does not do it for me. Never will. He’s like a piece of dry toast.
A piece of dry toast LOL. I was thinking that he would look good if he wasn’t so obviously baked, so dry toast fits.
A perfect description. Bland and tough to swallow with anything.
I just sang this outloud while clapping my hands. As in the Hokey Pokey. Thank you for that. I needed a smile this late on a Friday.
He just always looks like he can’t wait to hit the bar and find someone to roofie.
Can’t get past that hair.
is it frosted?! or is that the lighting causing him to look like… that.
It is obviously dyed or highlighted, but at the same premiere, I noticed in Mila’s post her hair looked like she had dyed part of it silver which she clearly hadn’t, so maybe those are some seriously harsh or bright lights making it look brighter than it actually is.
I think there’s dye. But that’s some Touched by an Angel lighting there, and it’s not helping. My hair naturally does something similar in bright light.
HAHAHA. ’Touched by an Angel lighing’!!! OMG, thanks I needed that.
At the Oscars or something tangential I’ve seen recently, His hair was rather yellow. NOT a good look for him.
I agree. This is like bad highlights (ie of the home highlighting kit variety, c. 1989), exacerbated by weird lighting.
I love him. But I don’t like him blonde and I don’t like him in a demob suit.
is that hair for a role? i really hope it is….
Lovely suit but the tie is letting him down – too pale and blah. I might have been tempted to go with some colour in the tie – yellow?- or even a bowtie.
Is it me or does that suit look itchy?
It’s the crabs
Oh wow, that made my day!
like wool on a hot summer day.
Best part of these pictures is the flying monkey photo bomb.
lol best comment ever.
The monkey is laughing at him!
He ain’t the only one.
I was terrified of those as a kid. Have not yet recovered from my fear.
What’s past a “skosh” tight on the suit. Also the hair is wrong. No like.
Oh, GOD no.
WHAT DID HE DO TO HIS HAIR?!! He looks like he belongs on a box of Lucky Charms.
Makes him look stumpy.
Yup. He looks like a big ol’ rectangle of gray.
He looks like someone used one of those dye kits on his hair that come with a plastic cap and a crochet needle to pull the hair through.
Too boxy and business-y.
He buttoned the BOTTOM button on that suit and left the top one undone? Totally ass-backwards. That’s what is making it look like it doesn’t fit right.
Jeez, these celebrities need someone to pin a note on their sleeves to remind them to breathe sometimes.
I love me some James Franco!
Lol, looks like we are the minority here. #TEAMFRANCO4LYFE
Freaks and Geeks 4-ever!
I’m a Francophile, too!
That does not fit him with the precision and ease that one would associate with a Gucci suit.
Not awful, but the suit’s a little too tight – he looks stiff and shapeless.
and of course there’s the spot that looks stiff and shaped…
He doesn’t look like a man who is comfortable in a suit.
Now I know why all the guys pose with one hand in a pocket. He looks really uncomfortable!
Why is his hair blond? Why am I so ok with it?
The tie is all wrong, along with the blond hair.
He looks neither great nor powerful.
Other than the ultra-awkward posing, I think he looks great. I can even deal with the hair
These pictures just have me laughing.
Is the hair for a movie role? Its an awful color.
I think it’s the lighting. See also his shoulders.
He could not look any more uncomfortable, but it’s a nice suit.
I like the color of the suit, and if it was the right size it would look better. He just looks super uncomfortable as if he bent his legs or arms the seams would pop!
Why not a colorful tie?
He wears a lot of Gucci and it never looks right.
is he constipated? gassy? why is he making those faces?
He’s a brick… road. Blocky blocky, with bad lighting of gold.
I see what you did there!
Well, he looks cleaner than last post. The hair may be for a role, it’s strange.
Nice suit, needs a better tie.
Are the shoulders built up on that jacket, or is he the New ‘n Improved James Franco? Now with Sun-In hair!
why does he have that hair????
He looks like he knows that highlighting job is screaming “SUN-IN”.
gosh he looks stiff…if I didn’t know better I’d think he was playing the Tin Man.
He looks so short legged…is it the suit, the camera angle, him ? idk. I never noticed that about him before but he looks especially stocky here. His thighs look thick, which I like, and the pants fit him snuggly in the crotch, which I also like…but those are for purely selfish reasons, and really don’t look good as far as this suit and these pics are concerned. He just looks so awkward. Also, he needs to learn how to tie a tie, and pick out one that compliments/contrasts better. His hair…oh lord, no…
Better showing than the LA premiere? Maybe? That yellow brick hair is freaky, though, trick of the light or no.
I may be grading on a curve here, but he looks sooooo much better than the last time TLo featured him, that I don’t even mind the hair. The suit is interesting and fits nicely and he clearly got the message about how icky his smoker teeth looked. He also looks healthy, not pasty and sickly. Someone in his party saw that things needed fixing and did him up right, which can only be a step in the right direction.
He looks cleaner than usual.
Agreed! Hair–bad. Suit–bad. Complexion–scary bad.
It’s too easy for me to put him on a Shit List and leave him there.
I think this is close to a personal best for him.
Clean shaven, hands not in pockets, decent enough tailoring.
While there’s no brave color choices I suspect the fabric has more oomph in person. Subtle threads of some other color.
Tie’s a bit askew but someone could have helped him out with that you can’t always catch it yourself after you’re dressed and in motion.
While I don’t mind the hair, I’m not sure that it suits his color, but then, I agree with the observations that something’s iffy with the lights at this shoot.
He’s got the wrong button buttoned and that fabric looks itchy.
The suit’s fine, but he looks like such a hamburger. Why again is he getting lead roles?
Apparently he missed the third season of Downton Abbey where Tom Branson is repeatedly raked over the coals for wearing tweed in the evening. It’s a nice enough suit but it’s way too casual for the event.
Has he always been so beefy-looking, or are these pants way too tight in the thigh? He looks more like a Tatum than a Franco…
What’s with the orange hair? Still…hot n cute …nice mix!
I was going to make one or two small comments on his dress, but I read the comments first, and now I feel I have to be a booster for my man James Franco! Yes, the hair doesn’t look great, he looks a bit stiff as if the suit were heavy starched, and he could use some color with the tie, but still, I like the guy. I can’t help it.
The flying monkey’s suit fits better, and the monkey also looks more comfortable in those clothes than Franco looks in that gorgeous but poorly-fitting suit. And the hair…no, I just can’t go there. Too painful.
Not digging this suit. It seems stiff and snug and the bottom of the jacket frames his package in an odd way.
Did he always have THAT face? I don’t remember that stunning face, perhaps he’s aged into it. A pity it’s buried under orange hair. I’m so fixated on his face that the suit may as well be invisible.
HE might have looked BETTER in front of that green OZ background.
Too gray and tweedy. I hope the orange hair is just from an unfortunate lighting situation.
He thinks that because he is italian, he can rock an italian suit. But he cannot. That jacket makes him look like he’s hunch backed, and the pose alone is enough to make him look like a marionette. And that hair is a travesty.
The orange hair has to be a lighting thing. Lets hope that its lighting things. He should be knocking it out of the park but isn’t. Beautiful suit, clean shaven, nice shoes. Hem on the trousers could be better but all the male stars seem to have that problem. He just looks so uncomfortable. Like he has never done this before.
I think he looks cute.
I think the suit has an interesting texture, but the color does nothing for him, and the fit is way too boxy. And the pants are a trendy bit too long. And he looks like a banker.
Someone needs to help him with his suit selection and tailoring. It’s too wide in the shoulders, and the pants are too big and too long. He looks like a brick in that.
Not really doing him any favors, is it?
Has he bulked up for a role, or is the suit doing that to him? Couldn’t he have gotten a suit that fits? This thing makes him look like a gorilla. If he moves his arms, the suit will tear.
I’m surprised how much I like the blond on him. I wouldn’t have predicted that. I also think that gray is a very good color for him.
I was thinking the same thing — is it that he’s been working his upper body, or is the suit tight around the neck & shoulders?
I’m so bored and disillusioned with the state of men’s fashion in general. We are such an afterthought to the entire industry. It’s amazing how rarely I see a pic posted here of a man in a suit that fits great and has a flattering silhouette. Time for a revolution! The suit & tie is a dinosaur.
How can you all complain about this guy? His suit looks like it fits pretty well and the colors aren’t horrible. Pant and cuff length pretty good. The gold tone in his hair is sort of cute. Yet, I too don’t much like the whole. Just can’t figure out why.
nothing bland about James Franco – he’s marvelous. He just needs a bath or something.
Is it normal for a suit to accentuate his ganglia like that? Yuck!!
It’s a bit monochromatic, and it seems a bit tight in one or two places but, considering the source, he looks pretty good! Not crazy about the hair color, though.
Better than last time, but still meh.
