IN or OUT: Eva Mendes in Valentino

Posted on March 15, 2013

Gather ’round, kittens. Let’s all meet in the T Lo conference room for a meeting. There’s donuts.

There are two simple questions on the agenda, the answering of which will determine your vote.

Eva Mendes attends Vogue Eyewear Spring/Summer Communications Campaign in Beverly Hills, California in a Valentino dress paired with bag and shoes by Dolce&Gabbana.

Valentino Resort 2013 Collection/Model: Mackenzie Drazan

We don’t know if we love that backdrop for being fun and colorful or if it’s a distracting combination of wealthy child’s birthday party and gay pride parade float. Anyway, that’s not what we’re here to discuss.

Answer these questions quietly to yourself and then enter your vote, please.

    1. Is this dress cute, feminine and springtime or cloying, infantilizing and somehow crudely simplistic?
    2. Is Eva Mendes really the type of gal to work this look or do you think she does better with sophistication and a breezy urban feel to her looks?

Please note that both T and Lo’s opinions are represented in the above questions; hence, the idea to put it up for a vote.

Vote Now!

IN! These donuts are DELICIOUS!

OUT! No jelly-filled?

Miss Solange’s polka dot explosion delighted the Precious Unborn Fawns, who voted it IN.

  • Jessi03

Eva. Wtf are you doing? Out. I want Boston Kremes.

  • StellaZafella

Not the best for Eva all around but…sweet.

IN as the perfect outfit for an Easter Egg Hunt on the White House lawn.

  • Pants_are_a_must

I don’t think this dress belongs on an adult woman, to be perfectly honest. Also, the accessories are badly chosen. OUT.

  • PastryGoddess

Michelle Williams called and she wants her dress back STAT

  • Okiewankenobi

I think she needs the sophisticated, urban look. This should only be worn by someone younger than 20, and I hate that bag with it!

  • Cathy S

I love that dress but the shoes are too heavy and dark. What happened to Spring? IN.

  • Alexandra Simons

I’m siding with cloying and crudely simplistic. The shoes are way too heavy, and the clutch is beyond Disney princess. O.U.T.

  • Pepper Pan

OUT! she looks like a fake Barbie

  • Jessica Rowe

OUT. It is like she had another outfit on and then put this dress on last minute. The accessories and shoes do not go at all. She is not a princess chick. If she wants to go hipster, this isn’t the dress to do it in.

  • MilaXX

OUT!!! I hate the dress to begin with, but it’s really too young for her. Then she put what looks like burgundy suede pumps with it when for once silly putty pumps may have worked better. The bag has no place with the dress AT ALL and the earring don’t go either. I just hate it all.
Send that dress to Kiernan so it can be as sweet as it should be.

    • preach!

    • PastryGoddess

Agreed with the Kiernan Shipka vote. I initially said Michelle Williams, but its too twee even for her

    • lovelyivy

      I was thinking Dianna Agron.

    • ChiKat67

This dress should not be on anyone over 20, and those shoes have got to go! Send it to Dakota Fanning. She needs some bright yet non-cray clothes.

    • Louise Bryan

Absolutely! OUT, out, damn lace. Infantalizing hardly begins to describe it. And I prefer chocolate frosted donuts, please.

  • The dress is crudely infantalizing, most definitely, and she looks ridiculous in it. If she were a ten-year-old, i might vote IN, but she isn’t, so, alas – OUT!!! (And yes, she’s better with sophisticated urban looks.)

    • If she was a 10 year old (based on the 8 year old I know) she’d roll her eyes and refuse to wear it.

      • lol! i have a boy so i don’t know about young girl fashion trends! Maybe a four year old would like it!!!

      • VeryClaire

I agree, I was trying to think of what age child could pull that off and I decided I wouldn’t even put it on a toddler on Easter Sunday!

  • Jecca2244

I love this dress, just wish they did it in another color for her.

  • disqus_B0WuGFmiYP

This should be a “Girl, this is not your dress” post. It’s just… no. Out.

  • This dress IS cute and springtime, but TOO cutesy for Eva Mendes. This is a “Girl, that’s not your dress.” OUT.

(And light, Spring-y dress, with heavy wintery shoes? NO.)

  • Sobaika

This is a cute dress, but not AT ALL for her. Not even a little. Niet. Nahin.

I’ll take her clutch though. And a powdered jelly donut.

    • SassieCassy

      i love that clutch!!!!!

    • Only if it’s raspberry filling…

oh and OUT for the dress. She’s way too old for something so young.

  • AmeliaEve

OUT. That dress is too soft for her — her bold looks are much more suited to less fussy styling. And those shoes do not connect to the dress in any way: too dark, too heavy, too boring. I do really like the clutch, both on its own and with the dress.

  • kirkyo

    Out. Wow, that was easy.

That shade of yellow is not her friend.

    • I thought that too. Which is surprising to me, because I usually think that she can wear just about ANY color with her skin tone.

  • OUT. Cause of the shoes. I wished she went for a lighter color.

    To answer your questions –

    1. The dress is cute, feminine and springtime. I’d rock it with glee.

    2. Eva’s way more suited for sophistication, breezy urban looks. Hmm…maybe that’s the main reason why I gave her this a OUT. Because the dress is not her style. This post maybe should have been a “Girl, That Is Not Your Dress”.

  • butter nut

ya know, if she was rocking a turban with this dress, i might be inclined to go for it. but right now, with the lighting & the setting & those accessories & that head, i’m gonna say no. this dress belongs on someone else. OUT.

  • Anathema_Device

Between the donuts and this dress, I might pass out from the sugar spike.

Out, by the way. I like the cut of the dress, but that much pastel lace is ridiculous on anyone over the age of 4. And wine velvet pumps? WTF? If you’re going to wear dark shoes, complete the toddler look and wear black patent mary janes.

    • With short matching socks and a barrette. No! Better yet, a matching headband. With ducklings on it. And a puppy purse…..I need to go find some Peeps now.

      • Anathema_Device

The socks need to be the frilly ones with lace edging, right?

I will say, this dress does look like it would pass the “twirl test” to which I subjected all my dressy dresses back when I was little.

        • Oh yes, the twirl test! Or maybe how high can your skirt fly on the swings!

It is Spring (at least in Florida), so maybe the Mary Janes could be white for Easter?

  • I love me some Eva, but this is not your dress. OUT.

  • SassieCassy

no. she should stay away from yellow in general.

  • Aly Light

I think someone could work this dress, but I think they’d have to accept the fact that they look kind of like an Easter basket and roll with that. I think Eva Mendes doesn’t come even close. I might let it slide on her if she was wearing to church for her niece’s first communion or something. But for Vogue? OUT.

  • The M&M store backdrop gets an unabashed IN!

That dress gets a tepid OUT.

  • Imasewsure

I hate that little girl Easter dress in general. Might work on Eva in a different color combo (and hey, how about another fabric too while we are at it). I think this would look great on an eight year old though OUT

  • OUT. Burn it. Twice.

    • I think the dress would actually be cute on someone like Kiernan Shipka, but I thought the “Burn it. Twice.” comment was hilarious!

    • BrooklynBomber

Twice may not be enough for that one. I can’t believe it’s Valentino. I’m thinking maybe it’s ValnTEEN-O!

  • I thought it looked kind of refreshing in the head shot, but I don’t like the whole dress (too much) and the shoes are thw worst.

  • OrigamiRose

Love it. Am so glad that spring dresses and colors are coming out. IN.

  • Zippypie

OUT. Too coy and cutesy. And Grandma’s tablecloth sweet. Eva’s hotness is lost in that mess.

  • KayEmWhy

Out! Not age appropriate and the waistline is in the wrong place.

  • Indigo54

What’s the world coming to when grown women go around stealing their kid sisters’ Easter dresses?

  • Aaaand burgundy velvet pumps? What the what? OUT.

    • Vlasta Bubinka

All I could think of when I saw them was secretarial pool clodhoppers.

      She’s out. ‘Ku:
      Little girl lacy
      Clomp over here zombie foot
      Twee virgin realness

  • OUT, that is not her dress and the shoes don’t even go with it….

  • Julie Fountain

Out. This is a classic “girl, that’s not your dress” moment, I think. And those shoes should never, ever, be combined with that dress.

  • Fisher&SonsFuneralHome

I could see Zooey Deschanel pull it off but she might be the only one who could who is over 18. Yellow is not Eva’s color.

  • Out. It’s a bad match for the lovely Eva. Those dark shoes don’t help.

  • Out. Hate the dress, though less than I would on someone lacking her edge.

  • Out, infantalising and not her colour. I like the shoes the model is wearing though.

  • sleepycat

I like the dress, but not on her. OUT

  • Jillaine

    OUT. Just out. Nothing works.

  • TSkot

    Not your dress, dear. OUT

  • marilyn

Out. This is not the right style for her (too girly), and the colors are bad for her. Also, the shoes are absolutly horrid with it. Black pumps with this? Really.

  • theblondette

I think she actually makes this cutesy dress look quite sexy, so IN, even though her shoe choice is VERY poor.

  • OUT. The dress is too pastel-y, if that makes sense, and anyway Miss Mendez is too much woman for this kind of look to work on her.

  • Out. would be in if that cutout was in the shape of Texas, which it almost is. who I am kidding the shoes kill it and it would be out regardless.

  • Michele

OUT. I don’t like lace in general, but this yellow and pink version makes me want to vomit. I don’t think this is a good dress for anybody.

  • Her and Selena Gomez need to switch dresses and then Gomez needs to throw this dress away.

  • Girl, that’s Kirsten Dunst’s dress.

  • ILL! My God I didn’t think anything could look ugly on her. Wow, was I wrong!

  • Kate4queen

Out, I like the dress but not on her.

  • I actually love the dress, but don’t think it suits her. I think Kiernan Shipka, for example, would look really chic and stylish and lovely in it. It’s just not Eva’s dress. Plus, the purse is over the top to the point of looking tacky and cheap, which I am sure it wasn’t, and the shoes don’t suit it at all!

    • 3boysful

Weirdly, half of me likes the purse, albeit NOT with this dress, and half of me thinks I could recreate it with some pasta, gold spray paint, and one of Nana’s vintage brooches.

Fortunately for Eva, I still happen to have my Easter purse from age 5: woven straw with embroidered straw flowers. She’s welcome to borrow.

  • Jangle57

So wrong on so many levels! That dress – I think maybe one of the Fannings?, but not Eva! And with those shoes – gack! My eyes hurt now…. OUT

  • Dagney

I just canNOT with those shoes.

  • stagmania

OUT. That dress is too young for her, and the colors are really not working.

  • RebeccaKW

Out. I do (sorta) like the dress, but not on Eva. The color is off for her and the length is wonky. Also…are those shoes maroon? Regardless, they are too heavy for such a springtime look.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

The dress is juvenile and her body is way too boomin’ to work that flavor of look.

  • SewingSiren

I prefer my doughnuts in dress form , that way I can have as many as I want.

  • gabbilevy

    1. The latter.
    2. The latter.

  • rumcg66

OUT. Dear lord, that is so out.

  • Kate Lorenz

I adore the dress – It reminds me of Fluttershy from My Little Pony and that is a GREAT thing.

However, it’s not her color and it’s way too twee/adorable for her. I don’t like boxing people into looks; demanding that Eva wear something sexy all of the time, but this is SO far out of her wheelhouse that it just comes off as sad and so, so, aging. Ship this off to Elle Fanning.

  • I like the dress a lot, but it looks weird on an adult woman, especially one that looks like Eva Mendes. OUT

    • Lizzyisi

It’s also a bad color for her. Plus that heavy clutch, dowager rings and sci-fi earrings make no sense with such a childish dress. So, OUT.

  • ankali

OUT for the look (cloying & infantilizing for sure), IN for the donuts (even without the jelly-filled)!

ETA: I do love the bag.

  • DinaSews

OUT. I’m late to the meeting. Did no one save me a donut?

  • That dress could be cute. If the person wearing it was about 12 years old. OUT.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

I love this dress, but not with those shoes…out.

  • hillmad

Out! What that dress is doing to her complexion is a sin! And then to add those dark shoes and gaudy gold bag! WTF?

  • In! Yellow’s hard to rock, but she is.

  • another_laura

Out. Looks like a bad Easter Sunday Going to Mass Dress that she spilled cranberry juice on. And nothing need be said about the bag.

However, I’ll take some of those donuts, please!

  • Little_Olive

    1) The second thing.
    2) The second thing.

    = Out.

Apparently the decent stylists were all busy “eating” at that luncheon thing.

    • Seriously. All of the ladystars who have appeared at that event don’t seem to have been dressed their best.

      • It’s as though they were all auditioning for a stylist. Pick me! Pick me!

  • teensmom99

IN–somehow Eva can make this look work. Mere mortals who are older than 15 would have a hard time with this but Eva is no mere mortal.

  • Sara__B

OUT. Not cute. Old and frumpy- looking (and I am an old frump). Not her style. The fit is off. I do not like this dress AT ALL.

  • jilly_d

The colors look nice on her! Could have worked if she ditched the sleeves, gotten a simpler bag and BURNED THE SHOES WITH FIRE. As it is, it’s OUT.

  • Qitkat

    M&M decor to me.
A nine year old girl would look adorable in this for Easter.

  • Out. I hate everything about this dress and *even if I didn’t,* I would still hate it on her.

  • VeryClaire

Good lord NO! That dress should be the tablecloth at a children’s easter egg hunt party. It has no business anywhere near an adult.

  • PastryGoddess

    I want donuts now…

  • Alexina04

I was already planning on giving this an out (it’s just hideous) and then I saw the illusion netting so OOOUUUTTTT!

  • m0r0

    Twee twee tweet

  • PeggyOC

Out. Unless you are six years old and going to an Easter Egg hunt, these colors together are unforgivable.

  • OUT! The balloon backdrop needs something more interesting than white walls. Maybe a wallpaper of those same balloons deflated. Oh wait…this isn’t the comment section for Sebastian’s Wonderful World of Step and Repeats? I’m in the wrong room.

  • CPK1

jelly-filled Easter basket! So wrong for anyone over 5. I could handle the dress in a different palate. The shoes suck.

  • She looks like the host for Romper Room. So that would be an OUT.

  • mightbewrong

Ehh, out. Maybe in other colors she’d look like less of an easter basket. Doesn’t need the weird bit around her neck, either.

  • Carly Warnock

Out. The dress is cloying, the face is harsh esp. with that makeup and the shoes are all wrong. A dove grey would have gone well with this, in a smaller, strappier shoe.

  • dschubba

Where’s her Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it?

  • Out. That is just ugly. I hate the dress.

  • out…the bag and shoes with that dress?

  • Anna Vasquez

    Wait, where are the donuts?

  • Out! But I’ll still take a couple of donuts.

  • That’s a dress for Diana Agron.

  • I’m going to say Eva needs a sleeker look. Twee does her NO favors.

  • I was hoping this would be featured here. TOTAL OUT. She needs to ship the dress to Michelle Williams. The dress is absolutely gorgeous, but not hers. And hate the shoes. Nothing works, IMO.

  • Elizabeth Silverstein

Out – girl that is not your dress.

  • CeeQ

This is too much for me. It’s just too much pastel. The dress itself is nice but all that lace and pastel colours….it’s too much. OUT.

Also, no she’s not pulling it off. Still OUT.

  • Jessica O’Connell

OUT. It’s a lacey Easter egg. Not good.

  • She looks like she’s role playing for a creepster. She’s just too hot to pull off easter egg cutesy. Ick. OUT.

  • schadenfreudelicious

Eva that has not been your dress for atleast two decades…OUT

  • rloliveira

infantalizing. Honestly. What a terrible choice for her. It doesn’t even fit well.

  • nannypoo

Too young for Kiernan. Perfect for a four-year-old.

  • sweetlilvoice

Out! The dress is too young for her. Shoes are way too heavy. She’s a hot lady, dress like one-not a little girl who is going to Easter church. And the background is ridiculously distracting-pride float is right!

  • Erica_Vuitton

OUT OUT OUT… so many issues where to begin? Finish your step and repeat and go home to Mr. Gosling. I’m positive he can make this all seem like a bad dream. And tomorrow, casually tell your stylist you want to meet for coffee and then slap them viciously about the face with that dress.

  • jw_ny

    It ain’t Eva’s dress…it ain’t nobody’s dress. So ugly…

  • So OUT it hurts. Nothing about that dress belongs on her.

  • Tatiana Luján

Out! It is not her first communion, but she is certainly one of the girls invited to the party.
I love the shoes and the clutch, they shoul have been worn with a different dress.

  • susan6

Eva Mendez and “twee” do not go well together.

  • ick, out

  • tereliz

Is she fucking the Easter Bunny? Or just meeting his parents for the first time?
Either way, this is NOT HER DRESS. Ever.

    • Lori

I am absurdly entertained by the idea of a first meeting with the Easter Bunny’s parents.

    • barbarienne

Great, now I have an image of Eva Mendes going to a Furry convention looking for a bunny to get with.

      • There’s a furry convention in my city this weekend (downtown is a HOOT right now), maybe she’ll be here. And maybe lonely, forsaken Ryan will need a shoulder to cry on and I could be that shoulder?

    • rotflmao, ha, ha, ha, ha I don’t care about the dress. You comment is priceless though, ha, ha.

  • Janet B

  • formerlyAnon

    OUT. Also, OUT!!!
There is a very tiny young girl window when one might wear this without looking like you’re wearing a tragically tacky Easter dress, or are a very, very colorblind older woman tragically enamored of lace.

Tragically (featured word of this comment), Ms. Mendez is not in that window.

  • Tashina Savage

Out! I love the dress, just not on her. Those shoes and that clutch were terrible choices. This dress would look adorable on Elle Fanning.

  • The dress is cloying, infantilizing and somehow crudely simplistic. And she’s not the gal to work this look, though I’m not sure any gal over 17 should.

  • So not her dress. OUT.

  • Out. Not her colors or style at all.

  • SouthernGirlRena

I hate – HATE – that dress and the shoes. And while I am on a roll, that background. Her head looks fantastic. Love her hair and makeup. And her hand. But since I suppose we are voting on clothes and not heads and hands, out.

  • crash1212

OUT. And now I have toothache. Thanks Eva.

  • Carrieanno

    Out. Where’s the donuts?

  • MissMariRose

Pastels are not her colors. OUT

  • Monabel

  • barbarienne

Cloying and infantalizing. As to whether Eva Mendes, specifically could rock this sort of look, I’m going to come down on the side of virtually no one over the age of 6 could rock this look. Maybe a Katy Perry-esque approach of playfulness that says, “Yeah, it’s a kiddie dress, and that’s why I’m wearing it with Doc Martens” or somesuch. That Eva Mendes is not that person is no crime; practically NO ONE is that person.

    Definitely out.

  • VioletFem

OUT! Not a fan of this dress, but it might work on a much younger girl (Read: pre-teen). The coloring is not flattering and the whole look is infantilizing.

  • Kristy Evans

OUT. Blurgh. Send this to Elle Fanning, post-haste.

  • Nancy Karpen

Hate the dress, the accessories are all wrong for it and it’s too young and sweet for her.

  • ojosazules

    Wretched dress. Out.

  • mommyca

OUT! I’m with the second option in both questions…

  • conniemd

Out. Wrong dress for Eva Mendez, this is a dress for a young, unsophisticated woman. Too cutesy.

  • prettybigkitty

    Without a doubt, out. Yikes.

  • oh out. not for her at all. but you must tell us who thought what!

    • formerlyAnon

I’ll bet that it was Lorenzo who was positive (he seems more often to favor excess of the feminine stamp).

  • No woman over the age of 8 would want to wear that. Looks like old Barbie 70’s wear. Yuck, burn it.

  • Samantha Irene

This dress cute, feminine and springtime, but – she does better with sophistication and a breezy urban feel to her looks. She needs to pack this dress up and send it to a Fanning or Shipka or even perhaps Kirsten Dunst – OUT for Eva

  • it’s not a good dress for her, but it’s a good dress.

  • OUT! Horrible dress/color on her. This is not her schtick at all. And the shoes are KILLING ME. And not in a good way. She looks like a birthday cake exploded on the wicked queen’s shoe wear and crown. Awful.

  • This is one of the quickest, most visceral “OUT” votes I have ever cast. the ONLY thing I like about that dress is the fact that it has pockets. The rest is odious and not at all worthy of any adult woman, let alone Eva Mendes. I’m all for stretching one’s fashion horizons but she needs to pack up that dress and send it straight to Fanning International. Eva looks most amazing with those chic urban outfits, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, etc. This is a cotton candy nightmare.

  • k b

The dress is lovely. Eva looks like she’s trying to impress the in-law’s at Sunday service. Ridiculous for her unavoidable overt sexuality.

  • E. D.

Good God, not with those shoes!

  • Out. I want a Boston Creme, dammit! Haha just kidding.

I don’t like this dress because it looks to me like it’s growing that weird pink mold you get in bathrooms sometimes. So it’s kind of just grossing me out.

I do think she could work this dress if it were a solid color (the yellow, or maybe the darker pink – the lighter pink looks like it would wash her out), and didn’t pair it with those terribly heavy velvet (?) pumps.

It’s all just too very “I had a freaky friday switcharoo with my mom but I’m still celebrating my 6th birthday anyway!”

  • OUT. The dress is just childish and looks like those swirled ice creams (the ones where you put a cone under a machine).

  • Trisha26

OUT. She’s dressed like an Easter Basket but with sensible shoes and an Oscar bag. The dress is not only “not her” the entire looks is bizarre.

  • Hey, where are the donuts?

    Out. Because no.

  • toddlers & tiaras

  • her eyebrows are too much. OUT

  • MzzPants

    1. She looks like an Easter egg. 2. Are those shoes red velvet??? Dear God.
    3. OUT.

  • librarygrrl64

  • BrooklynBomber

cloying, infantilizing and somehow crudely simplistic?
    That one.

do you think she does better with sophistication and a breezy urban feel

As for donuts, I’ll take a glazed old fashioned.

  • SorayaS

So far OUT it’s not funny. Those colours would be terrible on pretty much everyone and the styling seems incongruous.

And yeah- really infantilizing. I would allow a Fanning to attempt it but yellow and pink lace, ugh even I don’t think they’re that twee.

  • Anniebet

OUT. The twee makes my teeth hurt. I can see Carey Mulligan in that. On a bad day. When her husband Marcus takes her out for a photo op to meet little old ladies in a home for the elderly in Britain. She’d be wearing a straw hat, pink flats and carrying a basket of flowers to hand out to the ladies.

  • msdamselfly

OUt Hideous color and style on her

  • Out!

  • OUT! Does she think she’s 13? Or a Barbie? I suppose we can be thankful she’s not going the Halley Berry way of “look at me I’m still young!” but… This isn’t the way to go either.

    Your clutch it hideous.

  • Joyce VG

OUT. Cloying is a good word for this. Seriously no jelly-filled? Boo.

  • ashtangajunkie

She looks like an Easter basket. Out.

  • PrunellaV

She leaves me cold, but I think she looks just fine. IN. Except the shoes don’t go at all.

  • mike__tv

Out. The shoes, clutch, hair-makeup, and earnings are one look, the dress is another, and really it’s too infantilizing. Although I would like to see her try the fresh springtime thing again, but commit.

  • julnyes

    This is a child’s dress.
    SO OUT.

  • OUT. I might accept this dress on one of our Baby Stars. Chloe Moretz would look cute in it, even though she and Kiernan Shipke are too sophisticated for it really. It’s all wrong on a grown ass woman, and Eva Mendes is all woman.

  • Out – Looks like a tablecloth – you can do better than this!!Go back to your natural hair color also.

  • carolie_king

Ugh. OUT. Too sweet, too ugly-pastel, YUCK on the shoes and bag. Barf. I am definitely with sophistication/urban for Ms. Eva.

  • Eclectic Mayhem

No.  She’s a fabulous woman but this is just not working.

  • velomango

In. I think she looks springy and fun and it’s perfectly slightly-tongue-in-cheek and goes w/ the background. I also dig the maroon shoes.

  • Peeve

OUT! I’m not sure this is anyone’s dress over the age of 12. There is such a disconnect between the face and the dress. I don’t mean that in a mean way, it’s just too damn young for a grown woman.

  • OUT. She has a definite style and is so easy to dress, not like some generic blonde starlet. Valentino is so problematic these days; I think the burgundy suede was an attempt to tone-down the saccharine. The shoes are the only thing I like about this look.

    Chocolate glazed, please.

  • Out for me: she’s too old for this dress and has the wrong coloring. I’m thinking maybe (a big maybe) Carrie Mullegan or perhaps Dakota Fanning could almost do this dress…almost. As is, NO.

  • littlemac8

    OUT- cloying!

  • Contralto

    WHAT?! No. OUT.

  • Judih1

    Out. Yeeech

  • zelavie

OUT. Way to sickly sweet. Taylor Swift probably sleeps in this dress.

  • kathrineb

    eh not great look.

  • out

  • Ooh, gosh no. That dress is horrifying in itself. But add THOSE shoes, THAT purse, and put it on Eva Mendes? Big. Fat. OUT.

  • This could work on some beautifully, but not on her at all. OUT.

  • PeaceBang

It’s the worst I’ve ever seen her look. OUT.

  • MandyM

Out! She looks like rainbow sherbet and that is just too damn sweet..

  • bertkeeter

Didn’t Carol Burnett wear this on “MOMMA’S HOUSE?

  • demidaemon

Well, the black pumps are all wrong for this dress. ETA: Sorry, they looked black at first glance. However, they are still wrong and now uglier. So that’s one point against her. I also find it a little eye-searing in color as well as too literal an interpretation of baby’s first Easter egg. OUT.

  • Out. That is a Taylor Swift dress – twee and childish. Eva Mendes is too fierce for it. She can keep the purse though. It’s too matchy with this dress, but it’s fierce on its own. Like Eva herself.

  • bd73

  • OUT! Put this on someone younger, like Miss Shipka, and I would love it. Also those shoes are the WRONG choice. I can’t even.

  • Kirsten Kirsten

This dress leant work on Eva. Put it on Kiernan Shipkan. OUT

  • H2olovngrl

I can’t sign off on this one. She looks like my old Easter basket.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

“Gather ’round, kittens. Let’s all meet in the T Lo conference room for a meeting. There’s donuts.”

“I can’t have donuts, Karen, I’m on an all carb diet!!! GOD you’re so stupid!!” (Yeah, I know in the movie it’s actually “Taco Bell”, but I thought this was fitting too.)

On to Eva! Oh… is it Easter? I really hadn’t noticed (*rolls eyes HARD!*). I can’t even with this one anymore. She may as well have on a shopping mall Easter Bunny costume on for as literal as this is for this time of year. And way to completely mis-match the shoes.

  • Out. It’s like a doll dress from the 70s.

  • IN, because I think the stupid thing is pretty and that’s more than I can usually say for what’s up for judgment. If only her stylist had done something with her hair that morning. Also, someone confused her “spring dress” shoes with her “look professional” shoes.

  • Out Out Out ! and the accessories don’t fit too !

  • hmatz

OUT. This dress is just not working. It’s not only too twee for her, it’s also not particularly flattering. She’s a bodacious babe, and in this dress, her whole body just looks flat and boxy to me. But the really, the accessories kill it. The gold clutch seems like it’s trying too hard to match the dress, and those shoes are WAY too heavy for this frilly, baby girl dress.

  • OUT. She can’t do twee.

  • CarolinLA

Oh, please – as if Vogue has ever even seen a donut…

  • NoGovernmentName

Out. That thing is bananas. Not in a good way.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Way too Easter basket for her. It’s not good with her coloring.

  • OUT. at first i thought it just needed someone else to wear it, but when i started mentally putting it on zoe saldana or carey mulligan, doesn’t work. possibly solange? i feel it needs some edging.

  • Mazenderan

OUT. The shape is wrong, the colour is wrong. Her make-up and shoes seem to be for a completely different outfit, too.

  • butterflysunita

OUT. From the neck up, lovely. But that is one silly dress. Even looks awful on the model.

  • unbornfawn

OUT. A thousand times out. It looks cheap. It looks like she spilled pink lemonade down her front and tried to wash it out and failed. This lace, yuk. Not her dress. Don’t think it is anybody’s dress.

  • lilazander

OUT; not her dress … at all.

  • Haley Buchanan

OUT. Pack it up and send it to a Fanning sister – they’re young enough to pull it off and can use the pop of color in their lives.

  • Pterodactyl111

IN. It’s not the greatest, but it’s not offensive to my eyes.

  • l_c_ann

It makes her look hellish short wasted ( probably because she has a figure) and I don’t think I’d like that dress on anybody in those colors. Maybe in a deep hunter green and another green (sort of like chalcedony).

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Out. I remember intense use of this lace in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. It was stiff and looked table-cloth-y then as well. The keyhole neckline is distracting and the colors look as if she tortuously melted innocent marshmallow peeps and bled them all over the dress. And if you were FORCED to put this dress on someone, it should be anyone but her. Put it on Dakota Fanning’s eight year old blonde cousin from Des Moines or something. No. God No.

  • drdarke

Am I too late to pop in and say, “Girl, that is not your dress!”?

Out – big time. That dress looks like blonde hair on Jessica Alba – completely out of place given the woman involved.

  • ConnieBV

This was a Kirsten Dunst. Maybe even Kristen Ritter. Mutton as veal. She’s still hot, but way too grown for that dress. You’re a SERENA, honey. Quit dressing like a Blair.

  • OUT! The ‘fabric’ looks like dyed acetate lace.

  • Lilyana_F

Out. She has a beautiful, strong face. Cutesy is not her look at all.

  • Qdahling

Girl that is not your dress. Out.

  • mhlmh

  • The dress would be cute on a 12 year old, otherwise…terrible.

  • melanie0866

Out. Like a dress made of marshmallow peeps.

  • Caaro3

So THAT is what ‘twee’ means. OUT.

  • libraangel

I am on a diet. It is very odd, but Eva’s head doesn’t seem to belong on the dress/body. So OUT (and I’d give her one anyway for the DARK shoes with a Spring dress

  • Airkisses

This needs to be on a Fanning!

  • guest2visits

Looks terrible. Never thought I’d see a dress look so bad on Eva.
This might work on one of the really young starlets; but I still don’t like it.

  • OUT that is NOT her dress and it doesn’t go with the shoes or clutch
