That cover photo does her NO favors.

    • Indigo54

Completely agree. Looks like she has a mustache.  Surely there were better shots they could have used for the cover.

      • l_c_ann

Yes, Indigo, exactly.  I’d even go further to ask how she managed to grow a normal upper lip between the time the cover photo was taken and the cover reveal.

      • ChiKat67

I thought the same, but figured it was just the angle in the first picure…then the second photo confirmed it.  Cute outfit though.

    • Annabelle Archer

That is her?!?!!??! OH my lawd.  Clearly the publishing world has a hate on for this chick.  First the won’t even use her name and now the photo from Hell?

    • random_poster

I thought it was a male model who shaved his legs for the cover and was showing them off.

      • I thought she looked really man-like in the cover picture too. Very unflattering picture.

    • Melizmatic

I thought it was just me; that pic is BAD.

    • charlotte

I think she looks like a weirdly manly version of Brooke Shields.

    •  She looks like Jennifer Connelly on the cover. Or at least, how J Co USED to look circa 2001.

    • NatalieD28

I thought it was a joke cover! Like some Ivy League-type parody thing…I’m not sure why, I just didn’t think that cover was really her…There is no way that was the best shot in the bunch!

  • Indigo54

  • seriously.  clear shoes. why is this a thing?

    •  Normally I’d agree, but for some reason I really like these.

    • Tatiana Luján

Because clear plastic is to shoes what illusion netting and cutouts are to garments.

    •  Because sometimes you have to show a little skin. This reminds boys of being naked, and then they think of sex.

  • MsOlympia

Excellent, I too like to celebrate magazine covers with spiders on my stomach.

  • Annabelle Archer

    Hooha rorschach test.

    • MoHub

       Rorschach uterus print.

      • kimmeister

Exactly, it feels like an Xray!

    •  Heh, for once, a pattern like this DOESN’T draw my eye to the crotchal region. I’m surprised that I like it so much.

  • I’m seeing Fallopian tubes. That print. No!

    • Kristin McNamara

That’s exactly what I saw at first glance. I can NOT understand why designers CONTINUE to use mirror-image prints time and time again. They always, always, always look terrible to me, and create images I’m SURE are not intended…

  • iheartbuffy

I think Ms. Williams has earned her own “Of Course.” Also, the print looks like wall paper and the whole ensemble does her no favors. And clear pumps…..

    •  Funny… I think it’s incredibly flattering. The silhouette isn’t anything new, but it seems just right for a daytime event.

    • Bailey Debruynkops

she is totally deserving of an ‘of course’ eye roll. groan. hopefully with girls’ season ending she’ll go away for a while.

  • lobsterlen

I like the skirt with the tank like top more than the matching pieces she is wearing.

    • random_poster

Me too.  And if the tank lost the dust ruffles it’d be just that much better.

    • kschwarting

I totally agree.  At first I thought it was a dress and that there was a flaw in the fabric where the print didn’t line up correctly.  It’s also such a strong print that the solid tank is a nice relief from it.

  • I WANT THIS OUTFIT. I love everything about it – the print, the shoes, the belt… head to toe perfect… almost; the hair is boring as sin, but I like the rest of this so much that I’ll let it slide this time.

P.S. I think the picture of her on the Boston Common cover is horribly unflattering. Whoever OKed that as the cover shot needs to be fired.

  • butter nut

she looks like wallpaper.  should have kept them as separates.

  • misstee212323

Officially bored with Alison Williams now. Does she go to the opening of an envelope these days?

  • Sobaika

Boston Common and Town & Country? Someone’s publicist locked down her look and made it work overtime.

I hate the plastic edge on the pumps she has on.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Oh I love it!  I can’t really see the shoes enough to see the squished toes we already know are there.  I guess it’s kind of conservative, but before I talk myself out of things, I’ll stick with love it.

  • insertclevername_ici

So chic. Although in my opinion it would have been better if she tucked the shirt in so she didn’t have the second break in the pattern. As is, it is taking a very sleek look and giving it a hint of awkwardness.

    so very boston.

  • MissAmynae

Love it. Crisp pattern, classic clean silhouette. Simple shiny healthy hair at a non-absurd length. Very “All-American Pretty Girl” which is just about perfect for this event.

  • mary McCall

She’s too young to go with such a “young matron” look. The shorter, flared skirt in the solid color would have looked wonderful on her. And those shoes…not so much.

  • teensmom99

I always wondered what happened to my mother’s old Liz Claiborne office wear.

  • Alyssa

I would like this much better if the print on the blouse & skirt lined up. As is, it throws my eye. And I’m so over the clear shoe trend.

    •  Have you ever played the game “would you rather”?

Would you rather her wear these (clear plastic) shoes, OR silly-putty pumps. Your only two options. 😉

      • Alyssa

I don’t like this game. No one should be forced to only have those options! 🙂 But, since it’s a game, I’ll say these clear plastic shoes. They do have shiny toes!

  • Introspective

sure its rorschach-ish, but the print is pretty. my problem is the look does feel a little older to me than i think she should be dressing.

that said, its a flattering shape and well tailored. this is a meh for me than anything else.

  • j_anson

  • MilaXX

I prefer the printed  top/navy skirt combo the model is wearing. Allison’s version is boring.

  • mars tokyo

She looks like Joaquin Phoenix on the mag cover.

    • joancarol

      She does! She does!

  • Sara__B

Overkill with that print. I wish she’d chosen the flippy black skirt the model is wearing.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Love the look, head to toe.  Is that her twin brother on the magazine cover?

  • I like the colour and pattern but I think it’s a bit aging on her. The pencil skirt and shell top would have worked better.

  • ankali

A little stiff, but still gorgeous. This is the best I’ve ever seen her look (she must have stepped up her game once she saw herself looking like her own male cousin in that cover photo).

  • ThaliaMenninger

Eh, she looks fine. Why do I have such an unreasonable hatred of this entitled little snipper?

    • libraangel

Maybe because maybe Daddy gave her some help to become what she is today

      •  She’s not the only one, though. I don’t hold that against her; rather I have a fierce hatred for her show, thus clouding my impressions of her.

  • Why does this girl annoy me so?

  • Little_Olive

Park Avenue Princess (not necessarily a bad thing).

The cover is indeed horrible. She does look great, but more in spite of the dress than thanks to it. The print is… oh, whatev.

  • marilyn

The  problem with wearing the separates together, is that there is a giant break in the pattern, at crotch level.  If the patterns on top and bottom had been matched so they could be worn without noticing the interruption in the pattern, fine.  But that is not what happened.  It must be that the designer did not intend these to be worn together.  Or……the designer cheaped out and would not use the extra fabric necessary to make them match, which puts this in the category of off the rack.  I assume that the price is not off the rack, however.

  • At least they don’t call her “Brian William’s daughter”.

    • charlotte

Or “Brian Williams’ son” regarding the cover…

  • conniemd

I liked the print until someone said fallopian tubes and uterus and now that’s all I can see. Argh!!!!!

  • schadenfreudelicious

i think she is a very attractive girl, but she looks like a dude on the cover shot….

    • libraangel

That’s what I first thought – a MALE rock musician

  • allisankelly

Looking at the cover photo, I’d never guess she is supposed to be one of the “pretty girls” on her show (that I don’t watch, but occasionally read an article about). It’s an unfortunate picture.

  • AViewer44

It looks very nice, but it is Just So Marnie.  Marnie Season 1.

  • libraangel

Not bad, not good. But what is worse is that magazine cover – horrible!

  • guest2visits

These pieces look great for her. The cover though, ages her about 20 years.

  • bd73

love it. pretty dress, great fit. looks great on her. (mag cover looks like a dude dressed up as her.)

  • Love that Prabal pattern!

  • Trisha26

That print looks like “pelvic regions” – bone or organ – ewwwh!

  • kathrineb

I actually think she looks pretty on the cover. If I had teeth like that I would smile like that too lol.
There is something blah about her outfit. Is it the flat hair? If you described this look to me I would assume it has some edge, but it doesn’t and it needs something…

  • Susan Collier

It’s bizarre how the cover Alison is tapping the IRL Alison on the shoulder. Eerie.

  • hellkell

That cover doesn’t look like her at all.

  • is that….. BRIAN WILLIAMS’ DAUGHTER???

  • kikisayshi

     Love the dress

  • Carly Warnock

Love the Prabal Gurung dress. Definitely getting to be one of my favs.
