Is she dresses as a popcorn ball? Some things should be left for models only.

    • gabbilevy

But a *cute* popcorn ball. I think she’s pulling it off.

  • imperfectlaura

I like the unusual awards show choice, but I think there was a better shoe for this look than the one she chose.

    • BazoDee

I agree completely – it comes up too high around the ankle and somehow is not flattering to her legs.

  • unbornfawn

I think this looks better with the belt at the waist. A good move. It is February, these are white shorts (something that usually drives me crazy) and for reasons I can not explain I like this on her very much.

    • Sara__B

White short shorts in February, with a belted sleeveless tunic, and sandals that should be paired with a gown. She’s got serious fashion magic for sure — I should hate this but I think she looks good, too.

      • rottenkitty

I think she’s darned lovely, too.  Which surprises me because her fashion choices can be so hit or miss. And she’s not ridiculously thin. But white shorts in February just makes me shiver. Oh, to be young.

  • Sobaika

She looks cute! Wish she was wearing earrings, she always looks very underdone around the face. I don’t blame her though, she is super pretty.

  • Why is she wearing a top made of crumpled metallic giftwrap?  Mr Kors, you have something to ‘splain to us here.

    • QuincyTKatz

Michael Kors stole that look from Oliver (season 9) – Hamster bedding

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Disposable closing that you can recycle!  Genius!

  • Rand Ortega

The shoes are a bit fussy for the shorts, but she looks fantastic.

  • MilaXX

She looks cute, but the shoes are distractingly too big.

    • Sweetbetty

Totally agree.  I was wondering how she managed to walk in them at all.  Her foot doesn’t even match the contour of the sole.  The too-big shoes on celebs is always a mystery to me.

  • Annabelle Archer

It’s interesting, sexy and fun, all without being obnoxious.

  • carpediva

Super cute. Shorts so often can go tragically wrong.

  • I love this. It’s an unusual choice for an award ceremony, which suits the venue.

  • IAmJ

I actually really like this look, even if I’m not crazy about the shoes. She is a gorgeous girl.

  • MK is taking lessons from PR contestants, I see.

  • aeb1986

Fun and spunky but maybe not season appropriate?

  • Imasewsure

Look! My ugly shirt has pockets (or the shorts… can’t tell). Even so, she looks cute… ditch the shoes though

  • I like it. I just don’t like the placement of the belt.  I like the way it is higher on the model. It looks cute and fun.

  • Squarah

She looks so cute from the neck up and knees down that I’m just going to ignore the middle bit…

  • jw_ny

This is adorable!  I really like the whole look…agree that it’s not seasonally appropriate tho. The stiffness of the top seems kinda problematic tho.

The top has a similar textured treatment that Daniel (PR) did for his Miranda Lambert gown last week…which was seriously ugly and bulky.  This has a much lighter feel to it.  I wonder if this is the look he was striving towards, and if he was copying MK (?).

  • Janet B

    That looks stiff and uncomfortable.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

I like this very much and think it was a good choice for the event/venue.  And I don’t think this was any less seasonally appropriate than all of the white dresses on the RC at the Oscars.

  • Super cute!

  • I really, really like this entire outfit.

  • ankali

She’s so very pretty that I’ll allow it, but I will register my disapproval of the smock-effect going on with that tunic.

  • another_laura

Initial impression, I like it!  On closer inspection the texture of the top is bugging me.  Still, I’ll go with my overall impression which is cute!

  • She looks good – how could she not with that face? But I really don’t like what she is wearing. Why do so many starlets who wouldn’t dream of wearing ladypants think shorts are OK?

  • Alyssa

I personally would love this for a summer appearance…it just looks so out of season to me. But she has the power to pull this off, which I don’t think many could.

  • warnerave

the outfit is super cute..if you’re going to the mall..

  • procrastinatrice

This looks great; the ponytail was the perfect choice for this outfit. I rarely enjoy her sartorial choices but this is really working for me. It’s cheery and casual-glam.

  • DiverK

Maybe I’m showing my age, but shorts and high heels are for street corner ladies.  Shorts are not for formal/semi-formal wear either.

    •  Well, then, lemme sit right down beside you and we can complain about the kids these days, because I had the exact same thought. And then we can yell at them to get off the lawn.

      • Judy_J

I’m right there with the two of you.

        • l_c_ann

          Gerontology loves company

          • formerlyAnon

             And I love your wit.

      • formerlyAnon

         Lemme pull up a bench.

  • Trisha26

Don’t mind the outfit, it’s different, but even for the ISA it looks too casual. (And it was coolish in LA on Saturday – this is a Summer look for sure.)

  • scroll down OMG!  and, i love ya, honey, but your shoes too big.

  • Jessica Rowe

    a total monet

  • appliquer

Bedazzled car hop. Makeup is gorgeous, however.

  • Carly Warnock

Makes her look bigger than she is and seeing that she’s tiny that’s a crime.

  • Lisa Dugan

She looks great.  It’s a little odd but it’s working for her.  She really wears clothes beautifully.

  • Qitkat

I read the title too quickly and was expecting to see Nina Garcia. Thank goodness I was wrong. This Nina is kind of cute though.

  • lalahartma

  • j_anson

Well… she’s the right age for this kind of look, I guess.

  • Mmmmmm, cornflakes…

    • Zippypie

Hooker on a streetcorner cornflakes.  With waaaaaay too big shoes.  Makeup is pretty though.

  • decormaven

Send this look to Miami, and choose a more suitable dress for an awards RC. Can’t stay mad long- her VF party dress was one of my faves.

  • formerlyAnon

She’s pulling it off, but I just refuse to accept that short white shorts are appropriate for any awards ceremony taking place indoors.

  • MissAmynae

Love it. Wouldn’t change a thing. perfect for the Indie Spirits, since they’re on the beach and “summer in February” is considered perfectly okay for this occasion

  • libraangel

I didn’t even see the white shorts at first – on Nina, I mean. Something is wrong with this

  • Is her top supposed to look like it’s made of gold plated popcorn?

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

OK, I’m confused.  Is this a bedazzled jumper?  Like the shoes, don’t like the hair.

  • quiltrx

    IT’S FEBRUARY.  That is all.

  • BaddestMotherEver

Is this her outfit for the talent portion of Miss Kentucky?

  • It’s cute enough, but white shorts and a sleeveless top in February are a little bit too off-season for me.

  • peachy

    dress shorts? no. just no.

  • How does she manage to go to every event?! To the fans of Nina: is she always being nominated or something ?

  • kathrineb

I like the subtle make up but the outfit is ugly. I hate top.
