Naomi Campbell in Alexander McQueen

Posted on February 06, 2013

She sure as hell doesn’t need us to say it for her, but Miss Naomi’s still got it going on.

Naomi Campbell makes an appearance on the ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ show to promote her new reality show ‘the Face’ in Alexander McQueen.

Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013 Collection/Model: Esther Heesch (NEXT)

Stand back, peasants. The Lady is SERVING.

Yes, yes. She’s batshit crazy, but the point is, she is a CREATURE of FASHION. Like a fairy or a nymph, except in 6-inch heels and with a greater likelihood of beating you with the nearest object for not treating them with the appropriate amount of respect and deference. You better recognize. That’s all we’re saying.

I COVET that dress. Like, in a bad, 10 commandments-type way.

  • VicksieDo

I lurve that dress, and I’m very glad she didn’t wear the pilgrim thigh high boots with it, that is some awkward!

    •  Now that you point them out, I love the boots. I’d previously looked over them as she didn’t wear them. I want them so badly but maybe in a knee high version. And I 1000% concur with your gladness that she didn’t wear them with the dress.

      • Nooooo, that original dress/boot comination is MADE of fierce. So much cooler than the accursed and ever-present bootie.

        • geeeque

Nuh uh! It’s an evil Santa elf!

    • Louise Bryan

The booties (with the ankle-breaking, killer heels) were definitely a superior choice.  All hail Naomi!

    • NC_Meg

See, I think it looks more Pilgrim on her than on the model. Can’t put my finger on why.

  • Claudia Fernandes

In the very first momento I saw the first picture, I thought Jimmy was making the easter confession to thesexy first woman priest…But then I realize I was mean, Naomi is «fabulastica»

  • A. W.

The pleating on that dress is giving me life.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

    French Maid/Dominatrix.  Fierce.

  • Sobaika

    • Points for “BESEECH” and if I had it I’d hand it over for vocab use alone!

  • Diego!

Did she have something implanted in her cheeks? I can tell her face is “roundier” now… But she looks fierce as sh*t! You go, crazy girl! 😛

  • Take note, Jessica Biel – this is how you work those bangs.

    • Pants_are_a_must

Especially considering both their bangs are fake.

  • butterflysunita

    She looks fabulous.

  • allaboutthewalterbenjamins

Naomi is probably one of the creatures Borges forgot in The Book of Imaginary Beings. Who forgot to put away the mug and laptop before she arrived or are these mock-ups?

    • MilaXX

Jimmy always has that on his desk.

  • SewingSiren

Is she starting to look like Anna Wintour?

  • Judy_J

I saw her a few years back going through customs in NYC.  You can bet I stayed the hell out of her way.

  • Both she and the English-rose model look great in this, despite being color negatives of each other!

  • Nariya

Love how she sat with the white pleats just so. That is pure expertise right there.

  • I want to see her do the “IIIIIIII’m FIFTY” lady from SNL!

  • ecallaw1977

I could care less about her reputation–when she walks down the runway I am in awe of her.  Still.

  • mmc2315

Would have loved to see her with this dress plus the thigh highs.  Smokin’

    • MilaXX

Thigh high boots rarely make for a good sit down interview. The bit above the knee sticks out when the person is sitting & looks weird.

  • not feeling it. Of course she LOOKS fabulous, but this reads “sexy Elf”

    • Vickiefantastico

My thoughts exactly! Make it green, and it screams Christmas.

  • Janet B

Gorgeous, sexy, without showing all sorts of skin and season appropriate.  This makes me happy.

  • mjude

    i must agree TLO.

  • Le_Sigh

luv huh and her unapologetic brand of diva-crazy-fierceness.  (like mariah carey’s minus the gold lame and butterflies).

  • gabbilevy

What a fabulous little dress, and perfect for a sit down. The cut around the ankle of her booties is adds cool visual interest–this is Fashion with a capital F. My only complaint–her hair is just too heavy. Getting those bangs off her eyes would have given this look just the tiniest lift that would have sent it from being merely awesome to one of the best talk show appearance outfits ever.

  • Tatiana Luján

I like the outfit, but I don’t like the way (her?) hair was styled, too stringy, looks like a wig.

    • julnyes

well it likely is a wig or bare minimum a full head weave.

    • A.

Its probably all wig. I don’t think she has enough of her own hair to weave anything.

    • MilaXX

       Naomi is always weaved up.

  • A perfect dress for a sit down tv interview.

  • Great dress. Bangs too long, darkening her eyes even further, giving her a gloomy vampire maid look.  But maybe that was what she was after.

  • Introspective

naomi could werq the hell out of a burlap sack. she is a force of nature.

    • jennifromcali

At first I read this as a fierce of nature…also true.

  • poggi

I love that she totally wears this like something she just pulled from her closet (now, that may be because it is or because she has no intention of returning it), but so many celebs clearly look uncomfortable wearing their borrowed get-ups.  Not her.  She owns it (or if she doesn’t literally own it, she does now).

    • Can you just imagine some assistant from the McQueen showroom saying, “Um, excuse me, um, Ms. Campbell, but um, could we please have that dress back?” Their battered corpse would be discovered days later …

      • poggi

Exactly. What poor intern gets saddled with that job? As you noted, someone expendable.

  • julnyes

    She is fierce and terrifying.

  • MilaXX

I have to admit I want to see her show & I hope she surprises us all by being completey professional

    • demidaemon

Umm, don’t get your hopes up. I saw the previews–expect some diva tantrum behavior. I’m still going to watch it, though. 🙂

  • Cathy S

That dress is amazing. So is she.

  • j_anson

I love that dress. Although I’d love it more with those boots.

  • Rand Ortega

  • hughman

She’s looking a little (aka, a LOT) like Chad Michaels from RPDR in the last 2 pics. Yikes.

  • BeeBeauNYC

I will say in terms of her ability to remain one of the (if not the) most highly sought after models, no one holds a candle to her – she is perfection in terms of body, beauty and style. But as a person yes she is as wacko as they get.

  • OMG. I NEED THAT DRESS!!!!!!!!!!  PLEASE!!! SO cute!

  • Nancy Dunn

She was a drinker, and recently said that she took a year out of the spotlight and quit drinking. Her drinking explains a lot of her behavior.

  • Carly Warnock

Such great legs. She really wears clothes well.

  • filmcricket

I can’t really tell from the model picture: is the skirt supposed to be bunched up on one side like that? It’s making my eye twitch.

This is very pilgrim-y, even without the thigh-high boots. It’s cute, I guess, but I think it’s her that’s making it work. On most people this would still be too short for a sit-down interview, and they’d be swallowed by the ruffles at the wrists and neck. So: supermodel wears clothes well is the takeaway, I guess? (And I hate those booties.)

  • LOVE that dress! It is to die for. Would not known that was Naomi. She looks younger.

  • BrooklynBomber

    What a great look.

  • She looks fabulous. Not someone I’d want to meet when she’s having a bad day, but no denying that she looks HOT.

  • She’s a goddess. A crazy, crazy Fashion Goddess. They do NOT make them like this any longer.

  • Jennifer Coleman

You serve up that haute, cute shit, you cellphone flinging, hair-wrecking goddess, you!

  • shelley514

Loves that dress!  Prefer it with the boots on the model, well the “other” model photo.  LOL.  My man would love this whole thang.  Naomi’s hair is a wiggish disaster though.

  • I love this, as I love everything with pleats.  The only miniscule change I’d make is the British-invasion style sleeve treatments.  Otherwise, I want to spend my next 6 months rent on it!!

  • Stubenville

[Tim Gunn voice] That’s a whole lotta look. (And Ms. Campbell could squeeze a werq from a Hefty bag.)

  • Zippypie

She is serving it up fierce.  I want to watch her show just to see the crazy.

  • I am sorry, but after the war crimes tribunal bullshit the only reaction she provokes in me is anger.

  • Ann

Is there a new reality show called Models on Ice that I’m not aware of? She looks ready to join the Ice Capades.

  • nannypoo

I hate the outfit but she looks beautiful anyway. I didn’t watch the show, so I can only hope that Jimmy stayed well clear of throwable objects. He should be very afraid. I did not know she has a show. Can’t wait.

  • greymain

  • Call me Bee

That is the perfect dress for sitting in a chair on teevee.  But I watched about 10 minutes of “The Face” and it’s just “The Voice” with models.  All forced “drama” and pregnant pauses.  Very annoying–even that cute Nigel Barker couldn’t redeem it…

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

    That dress is amazing.

  • hypeman414

I think she looks great.  Perfect for a sit down interview.  The model’s boots are great, but Naomi’s legs are perfection, so definitely no need to hide those.
For all the Naomi haters, yes she has acted quite the fool sometimes, but haven’t we all.  Let’s cut her some slack.  She is the main draw for her show (it sure ain’t Nigel Barker).  She lends it credibility, being a member of the Trinity, etc. etc.  The producers are going to edit the show to make her look demanding and diva like.  It’s what we want to see (or at least what they think we want).  My sincere hope is that they have a real modelling contest and less drama, and improve upon America’s Next Top Model.

  • bd73

    i recognize them fierce boots.

  • SpillinTea

She is serving us legs, face, and body for days. Slayomi Campbell, ladies and gentlemen.

  • neofashionista

I think she looks like a Christmas Elf dipped in Charcoal

  • OrigamiRose

She looks great, and made a good choice in swapping out the footwear.

  • Anniebet

I was all in the midst of bowing down to her when I caught a glimpse of that index finger ring. Is it a snake? A tool? Last nights noodle ramen? The rest of her is angel-on-a-stick.

That dress defies superlatives, it’s that good. I hope Mr. McQueen is grinning somewhere on top of a cloud.

  • PeaceBang

She’s too mean to wear that dress. All I see is a disgustingly rich, abusive woman with horrible hair in a gorgeous frock, pimping her product and her image.  No thanks. I’ll gaze in dreamy delight on the model all day, though. It’s an amazing look. All hail the house of McQueen.

  • notterriblybitter

I love that dress and want the detail with the cutouts and white pleats on everything I own; clothes, shoes, curtains, upholstery, towels, bathmats, sheets, pets, shrubbery and also on my car if that could be arranged.

  • AthenaJ

Growing up as an awkward, chubby white girl, I didn’t want to look like Cindy, Elle, or Kate – I wanted to look like Naomi. The woman is the image of a goddess (and she’s got the wrath of one too!)

  • libraangel

EECCKK!!! No with the lace and cutouts and Jimi Hendrix sleeves. She might look good, but dress not

  • Hottie Pilgrim Witch, testify!

  • guest2visits

Not that she isn’t beautiful; but I thought this dress/outfit looked silly.
