  • Mia Farrow plays Wednesday Addams. Sounds about right for a horror movie screening.

    •  THIS!  Yes.

    • I was thinking “Rooney Mara: the early years”.

      • Deac82

“Remember, self, just delicately touch your fingers together.  Clutches are so gauche.”

      • Jennifer Coleman

You bring up an interesting point. She does not have the striking severity of Rooney, but she looks eye-catching in severe looks like this. Instead of going with her natural ethereal good looks, she plays against them. I think it kind of works here.

  • Monkey Toe

Did she cut her own hair with nail clippers?

  • I actually like this. She’s waifish enough to make this work. I know, I know, velvet, but it’s winter, the velvet doesn’t have a complicated pattern so it’s not cheap looking.  I can even support the black tights and shoes. Her hair and face look light and fresh to make the whole thing feel youthful.

  • PeaceBang

    I don’t understand sleeveless velvet.

  • Isana Leshchinskaya

on a woman with a slighter frame, the black portion makes her chest look concave. and that haircut is not exactly flattering. get back up on that fashion horse, mia. i know you’ve got plenty of supersnap-worthy outfits in you.

  • teensmom99

This is a woman who needs soft fluffy hair.  And a better dress.  Besides all it’s other problems (that chest piece can’t flatter any one), there’s something weird about the cut of the sleeves that is just . . . off.

  • This dress isn’t a friend to her torso/arms.  Don’t mind the velvet and I do get the “concept” of it but this is BROQ. As are her bangs, lack of makeup/jewelry.  My five year old niece works this exact look but she does not.

    • Rrroza

      Hi …what’s BROQ, please?

  • jilly_d

Girl, those are not your bangs.

    • SerpentsDance

Those aren’t anyone’s bangs. They look like she cut them herself with a pair of safety scissors.

  • The outfit is very her, with 2 major qualms: 1. girlfriend needs WAY better support. 2. whoever cut her bangs needs some talking to.

  • anotherkate

Her bangs are terrible. So is the dress.

  • Ruth Preston

Everything about this is seriously unflattering. And did the hair and makeup people get the wrong address?

    • l_c_ann

You beat me to it.  I don’t see any makeup and the hair looks positively maid-ish, not maidenly at all.

  • YAWN. It screams “middle school” to me. Either that, or intern at the office.

  • schadenfreudelicious

in the first shot i was sure the background was going to say “Joker” as in the joke’s on you Mia….

  • unbornfawn

She looks a little old to be pulling off this Twee look, or this Twee look is making her look older. Either way. No.

  • elemspbee

Bare arms with thick black tights. Can we be done with black tights already? I know it’s winter but then again if folks have to go out and salt the sidewalks and plow snow before it ices over, because that’s their job, then these starlets can bear to expose their ashy legs too. That’s their job.

  • Susan Sontag

Did my mother come from the 1960s and trim her bangs for her?  I think I sported just that look in 3rd grade once thanks to mom.

  • Zooey Deschanel is so pissed that broke into her house and raided her closet.

  • Monabel

Prissy collar, with those bangs, oh dear.

  • MilaXX

That hair is horrid makes the whole look dowdy

    • SRQkitten

I don’t think bring Mamie Eisenhower bangs back is a good idea. Ever.

    •  Yes – and the lack of makeup. I think this could have been so much better.

  • lrober03

Twee version of Audreybot.  Not impressed.

    • DTLAFamilies

I was thinking the same thing: playing in Rooney Mara’s pond and in over her head.

  • Tatiana Luján

Love the dress, hate her bangs.

  • Annabelle Archer

Zooey Deschenael called, she’s pissed bitch stole her look.

  • ankali

If you asked me to conjure up a mental image of Mia Wasikowska, this is pretty close to what she’d be wearing: Peter Pan collar, check. A-line skirt of modest length, check. Tights, check. The only thing I don’t find predictable (not necessarily a bad thing) about this look for her is the use of a saturated color.

  • ConnieBV

No. Looks like a bad Martha Plimpton redo.

  • Someone shoot her hairdresser.

  • I don’t know how those bangs are making me feel.

  • zuzu

    Hedvig Palm looks displeased.

  • plinkiedoodle

  • Imasewsure

Worked for Mia Farrow but not working for me here… too stiff…. too juvenile but kind of dig the simple hair and makeup

  • NYCGlamourpuss

Very pretty, but she could have turned it up a notch with the makeup.  Her face looks way too simple.

  • ccm800

    cute little chic look

  • Liz

Those are the bangs I cut for myself in 2nd grade!!

  • Nonmercisansfacon

I like the drss without the tights And that haircut….is she playing Jeanne d’Arc?

  • margaret meyers

I am so intimidated by that look on Hedwig Palm’s face.  I can feel how unworthy I am.

  • guest2visits

That collar and those bangs have ruined the dress.

  • Frank Lithium

I just cannot get behind anything in this outfit, from the black stockings, to the grossness of a velvet dress, to the Lisbeth Slander (Ronney Mara) bangs. Ew.

  • quiltrx

Please tell me that hair is for a role!  Hairdo plus dress equals twee as fuck.

  • RzYoung

She cut that fringe herself didn’t she?

  • Aurumgirl

    She looks cold.

  • She looks like she’s plotting to kill someone.  Who could it be?!

  • lilibetp

Do you suppose she trims her own bangs?  I can’t imagine a professional hairstylist leaving them that crooked.

  • kschwarting

The girl is a stunner–sometimes I think she purposely downplays her looks.

The hair is unfortunate for all the reasons articulated by the PUFs, but I don’t mind the outfit.

  • libraangel

The little lost match girl done posh.

  • kathrineb

In general I think she has a great sense of style but I am not feeling this look. Shes a beautiful girl but the dress is not going good things to her upper body.
Call me strange but I like the short fringe/bangs on her. If only they didn’t look like I cut them for her.

  • MissMapp

I can’t decide if she looks more like Mia Farrow or Julie Harris. It’s eerie!
