  • “Hey, I made this with the leftovers of a dress I worn before and I just didn’t feel like styling my hair for this. I just felt like getting my makeup on because this is the face of an ACADEMY AWARD WINNER, suckers! I look silly, but you still can eat my shit!”

    • LeSourire

Ha! Though I believe this was worn before the Oscars.

  • Side boob Jennifer?  Shame.  You’re better than that.

  • I love this. Amazing shoes. The style is different for her. She obviously willing to experiment with her fashion. Good job, Jen.

  • Rebecca Damsen

  • MilaXX

Oddly enough I liked this until she got up to accept her award and confirmed for us all that her breast are real. That was one jiggly walk to the stage.

    • You prefer rock-hard fake breasts?

      • Can’t speak for Mila, but I prefer real ones…and an outfit that doesn’t tell me what kind they are!

      • MilaXX

not at all, but I don’t find boobs jiggling that much classy at all. Better to leave looks like this to the A cup gals.

        • kschwarting

I was thinking the same thing.  She’s too well-endowed on top to wear a garment without support in the bust.

        • You must be a gay guy or a straight woman. Trust me when I say that straight guys and gay women can look at a GIF of her boobs jiggling all day long.

          • MilaXX

straight gal, but you kind of prove my point. She’s at an awards ceremony, not Girls gone wild.

          • BawlmerGurl

Trust ME when I say that this not-straight woman finds this outfit tacky and certainly not worth any more looks–still or animated…

  • TAGinMO

I can’t believe I like this as much as I do.

  • Tr16ia

Betty Rubble wore that dress out to the Rockadero with Barney.

    • RescueMe23

OK – I just burst out laughing at my desk…

    • Imasewsure

To watch Ann Marg-Rock with Gary Granite I’m sure… The Rockadero… totally forgot about that one. Thanks!

  • j_anson

Can’t say she doesn’t look hot. And I’m honestly not prudishly repulsed by skin. If an actress WANTS to show skin, she should be able to, and bless her. But it’s hard not to feel a little weird when fashion constantly trims more and more from the minimum of coverage necessary for classy “dressed-up” female clothing while leaving the neck-to-toe-covering male uniform untouched. * sigh *

  • Her makeup is really pretty here.

  • I have merely one question: WHY?

  • Sobaika

    Nope. Not a fan. Next!

  • SewingSiren

    Too many things going on.

    • trisker

    • conniemd

Yeah. It really lost me with the hemline. I could deal with the bodice and the skin, but the different panels and uneven length of the hem was too much and did give the feel of just patching together leftover fabric as others mentioned.

      • Mistie Holler

Totally agree. It was a scrolldown fug.

  • werika

Efficient use of scrap cloth. These are hard times after all.

  • Wait what? I guess its works in a folded napkin tankini kind of way. Oh wait, that DOESN’T work!

Love the necklace and the shoes though!

    • 3boysful

It’s an origami tablecloth skirt with a napkin bodice and doesn’t work except perhaps on the flattest of ladies.  And even then, the skirt is too much.  Shoes are too short.  Hair is awful.  I has a sad, Jen.

  • Alli614

I don’t mind the dress.  But someone has got to teach her how to pose!  But I suppose that’s a lot of the charm that goes along with being Jennifer Lawrence.  Also, no more yoga hair on the red carpet.

  • deathandthestrawberry

Not sure about the dress, but love the shoes!

    • ccinnc

So do I, but are they ‘way too big, or just so high-heeled that her feel can’t help but fall out of the back?

  • Girl that’s not your dress. Your look is not edgy/editorial, it’s girl next door.

    • Yup, I think that’s the problem right there. I love every item, but not here and not on her. Pass it up to Rooney Mara, she’ll werk the hell out of it.

  • Adriana_Paula

    That is a bib.  No.

  • JimMcC

The weird thing to me about this dress is that it gives so little coverage that I feel like it SHOULD look vulgar, but somehow it manages to be sophisticated and (I think) pretty beautiful. An unexpected thumbs up from me!

  • No.  And sideboob!

  • It’s a pretty dress, but it needs some bitchface to wear it. She looks too sweet.

  • Annabelle Archer

The asymmetrical hem is making me stabby.

My only quibble is the side-boob shot. Otherwise she looks stunning.

  • Jessica Rowe

    too naked!

  • I mean, really, why bother with a dress? Come in a swim suit. And this is not about being a prude at all. If she wants to show she is hot 24/7, by all means, go for it girl. But somehow we thought (didn’t we?) you don’t need to resort to this. Aside from that, the dress is awful anyway. Why would anyone other than a hooker want to wear this?

  • Kate4queen

I just don’t like these French Maid apron dresses… sorry.

  • procrastinatrice

I actually like it. This whole look is weird, and it would look horrible on most people but she looks sexy and adorable. The shoes are fierce. But what the hell is she doing in that last shot? I can’t even guess.

  • elephantasmagoric

Oddly I quite like the top half minus the hair. It’s the belt and skirt that throws it off for me.

  • Stubenville

    Is this on purpose?

    • MilaXX

yeah, you should see the suit she wore to the after party. It appears there was a theme to her look that night.

  • anotherkate

What can I say, I love me some luscious sideboob. Plus her legs look great and she looks happy as hell. I’m into it!

  • Jessi03

My pretend best friend can’t dress.  Or stand.  🙁  I still love her.

  • xmixiex

    gurl you better WERRRRQ

  • fringebenefit

    Painfully awkward.

  • RescueMe23

I’m not quite sure that this is…I’m tiring of her as well…
We need some new celebs!  🙂

  • BayTampaBay

Here boobs are two sizes two big for this dress and her shoes are two sizes too big for her feet.

Love the dress on the runway model.

  • jilly_d

She actually looks far better in this than she has any right to, but I dont think it’s really her look. Those shoes are hot-hot-hot, though.

  • Dot

Obviously not a dress for mortals. Sideboob with a cocktail napkin. That necklace is killer, though.

  • I don’t think she looks bad but I don’t really think this is her dress. Great pairing of necklace with dress though!

  • Tatiana Luján

love the skirt, but I don’t like the top.
It bothers me that actresses preffer to wear shoes that don’t fit rather than wearing their own shoes.
If you are an actress, you should have a pair of kick – ass sandals that match your outfits.

  • MaryAtRealityTea

    Eeeermmm… No. That’s all.

  • Judy_J

Side boob.  And those shoes are a couple of sizes too big.

  • She looks amazing!

  • kirkyo

    Well, I love the necklace…

  • MarissaLG

So reminiscent of Anne Hathaway’s Oscar dress!

    • l_c_ann

Except she wore this one or two days before the Oscars.

      • MarissaLG

Good to know! JL looks much better in it anyway.

  • Oh she’s 22 and wants to show a little skin? LET HER!

  • Qitkat

OK, she’s 22, and hot, and talented, and I don’t want to be a prude, but please don’t do this anymore.
    Love the necklace though.

  • schadenfreudelicious

is there an legitimate reason why the majority of lady stars wear shoes that are obviously too large??  If they are borrowing the shoes are they not available in their size, “it’s the size 9’s or nothing missy!!”, what gives?

  • rissa42210

This beautiful woman should stay away from all short fussy skirts.  They wear her.

  • MK03

It looks like one of those “sexy aprons” they sell at Victoria’s Secret around Valentine’s Day.

  • Scroll down fug. Loved the top, then it went really awry at the hem. I thought it looked great otherwise, though I feel sincere pity for all of these actresses prancing around town in shoes that obviously don’t fit them. Heels are hard enough without having to worry about falling off of them because they are too darn big!

  • appliquer

    Enough with the bib dresses.

  • PeggyOC

Nothing says “Academy Award winner” like a big black tablecloth hanging off your hips.

  • CMSmith1848

This is not her! She actually looks uncomfortable!

  • lalahartma

  • Carly Warnock

side boob is becoming mainstream apparently. she looks hot but it’s not my fav look for her.

  • bxbourgie

No.  It’s too GROWN for her if that makes sense.  Its like…  no this dress is for sultry bitch-faced women.  Not for her.  The model is pulling it off because she is serving BITCH-FACE.  Maybe if her makeup was more dramatic?  I don’t know.  I love her but I’m not a fan of this dress on her.

  • Sara Brams-Miller

I love the shoes, but WHAT is with these girls wearing shoes THREE sizes too big for them????  Has anyone else noticed this????

    • rainwood1

I can’t tell if the shoes are too big or just too high to work for her.  She has lots of space behind her heels, but her toes are hanging off the front.  Gravity is sometimes too powerful to combat.  I’d hate to think how uncomfortable those shoes were to wear.

  • filmcricket

Yeah, no. Funeral table cloth wrapped around a bathing suit, and enormous shoes. That side strap is doing yeoman’s work, though. Kudos to it.

  • She looks awesome. But she should have kept the runway necklace/neck piece.

  • Kristy Evans

Is this a thing now? The apron dress? First Anne Hathaway and now our dear beloved Jennifer Lawrence? Y’all, it wasn’t even cool when Renee Zellweger did it in ‘Empire Records.’

  • Alyssa

I love the necklace with this dress, but do not care for the apron-tucked-into-skirt top. I don’t think it looks classy for the most part, and it doesn’t do her boobs any favors.

  • teensmom99

    I think it’s adorable.

  • Girl, That’s Not Your…pile of fabric.

  • mhleta

Well, she is just getting her Xena Warrior Princess on, isn’t she? At this point I’m so smitten with her I’m almost willing to sign on for whatever ride she’s taking us on. However, since you’re inviting us to quibble, I will voice my objection to the shoes being too big. Otherwise, I’m all in.

    • mhleta

No. I left it alone for a couple of hours and came back to it. The top bothers me. It would be better if the top were just a nice basic sleeveless, fitted impeccably.

  • Nariya

Maybe Rooney Mara could do this dress. Maybe. Set it free, JLaw.

  • BrooklynBomber

No!!!! I’m officially fed up with female movie stars as designer clothes racks/fashion models. The only one who’s got her own style is Helena Bonham Carter, and she’s turned her hair into a damn bird’s nest. Come on, Jenn: be yourself. Be a rebel!

  • This is making me do this with my eyes: o_O

  • Alyssa Schiffman

On anyone else I would hate this, but with her body and skin – I love it.

  • Zubair Ghumro

TLO! Attention please…the dresses that need your bitchery are mostly left in Whiteboard and easier one’s are discussed as normal. I need your commentary on this cractistic whoring up of an otherwise sane girl. Please!!

  • guest2visits

Wow – very bad. This is the real apron dress.  It looks like she should be serving drinks; all she needs is the white collared shirt
underneath, her hair is already in a bun…  it may be formal black Jen but it’s still in poor taste. You don’t have to strip down
to nothing these days to get attention or credibility… there’s a whole basket of up and coming little teen and pre-teen stars
that are experimenting with high fashion and doing it with great style and fun – and better than most adult celebs.
LOVE the shoes – although it looks like they don’t fit.

  • buffythekid

It’s unbalanced. She’s got that voluminous skirt and a giant karate belt bow, and then the top is a patch of fabric covering her boobs? Does not work.

  • BazoDee

After all the ridiculously adorable video of her after the Oscars I wondered if I could be objective anymore. Could I really find an outfit for her that I just would not accept. And the answer is yes. The front is just too small. Too much side boob. Love the shoes though!!!

  • oohsparkley!

Whoa! Sexy. It’s odd and very high class hookerish.

  • Zippypie

May I take your drink order before or after the BJ?

  • decormaven

She needs a couple more laps around the runway before trying to pull off such a technical garment. It’s like sending a toddler off on a two-wheeler. A very cute toddler, but a toddler, nonetheless. She has such a great, sweet spirit, however, that it saves the look.

  • Trisha26

Awful dress in general, honestly, who could wear that? And it doesn’t fit her body type or personality. She just looks awkward from head to toe.

  • Nonmercisansfacon

    Say no to sideboobs Katniss.

  • Laylalola

She’s really almost butch, isn’t she.

  • marilyn

Too much like a costume.  It is nice, however, that she used straps to avoid the exposure of side boobage.  All in all, it is kind of a cheesy dress.

  • formerlyAnon

I am pretty convinced they handed the contestants one black table napkin, one small black table cloth and one black server’s apron and gave them a half a day to knock this one out.

  • So fabulous. So fun for Indie awards. Although I am still trying to figure out why SLP was Indie. wha?

  • PaulaBerman

Love her face. Love her bod. Everything else– terrible.

  • This is what Hathaway’s Oscar dress wishes it was: a fancy apron.

  • Another crazy-ass Lanvin dress.

  • Imasewsure

Keep the shoes and the necklace (collar?). The rest from head to toe is not worthy…also not fun, not attractive, not fashionable, etc.

  • I am so obsessed with her, I think she could wear a trash bag and I’d love it. I love that she has a “normal person” back and isn’t afraid to show it off.

  • PastryGoddess

Someone please send this girl a drag queen to teach her how to pose.

  • libraangel

    All hail Queen Jennifer!

  • looks like Grace Kelly’s beach wear from “to catch a thief”

  • margaret meyers

Another dress just for the Runway.

And now that we’ve seen that photo of her right after the shots of the shoes, well, we HAVE seen her boobs.

  • Tae Kwon Do belt.

  • kikisayshi

Love the hair, makeup and shoes, but that dress is a  hot mess!

  • shawnhunter

i feel like there are too many competing elements, but that neckline looks really good on her and i actually think the necklace was a good addition. but then again she has yoga hair and her make-up looks underdone.

  • quiltrx

Love the necklace and the shoes…not so sure about everything in between.  But if you’re going to wear this, the Spirit Awards is the place.

Especially if, on the morrow, you’re going to be able to tell everyone to SUCK IT, BITCHES.

  • Veronica1022

I love the look, but I think she’s about 1 inch of fabric from having been part of the “We Saw Your Boobs” Song.

  • geeeque

    sideboob AND underboob! most impressive….

  • ojosazules

    It’s a ridiculous dress.

  • No no no no no no no! Mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go!

  • pookiesmom

  • Holy ugly!

  • Oh this is so awkward on her. And she knows it. I actually like the pieces, but this is not for her.

  • enonymous

No comment? Damn! yall gettin lazy

  • ChaquitaPhilly

    Mwa Ha HA HA!
    It is to laugh!

  • cteeny21

I like it! I am not the biggest fan of side boob though. Maybe a little more fabric on the side and I would love it!

  • notterriblybitter

Someone needs to invent something that prevents your feet from sliding forward in strappy high heeled shoes. Supergluing your feet into your shoes seems a little drastic.

  • mmc2315

So pretty in the thumbnail!  And then….

  • “Girl, that’s not your dress.” This is too much… NO.

  • peachy

dayum gurl… WERQ it! her gams look fantastic.

  • Well this is a scrolldown problem if I’ve ever seen one. That neckline looks fantastic, and I don’t even mind the oddness of the back strap….

…but honey that SKIRT is AWFUL! The shoes are cute though.  So waist-to-ankles is problematic.

  • prettybigkitty

    Yeah. . . . .no.

  • imsusie

the shoe doesn’t fit. why can’t shoes fit?!

  • librarygrrl64

Waaaayyyyyy too complicated for its own good.

  • Frank Lithium

Jennifer. Please. Let the pros, i.e., Mr. Kloss, handle this piece.

  • kathrineb

Only positive comment: I love the shoes… but are they too big for her?
Wearing unnecessarily fussy garments seems to be her thing.

  • littlemac8

    No No No No NO…there!

  • Nicole

I love the look but wish she would’ve done something different with her hair.
Also, maybe just straighten the bottom…?
to be honest it looks like she just took some lose fabric and stuck it to the bottom
