Jennifer Lawrence in Emilio Pucci

Posted on February 01, 2013

Say what you will about her, when Jennifer wants to turn it on, she TURNS IT ON.

Jennifer Lawrence makes an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ to promote her new movie to promote ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ in an Emilio Pucci dress paired with Jimmy Choo shoes.

BAM. The pictures obviously aren’t great for doing a nitpicky assessment, but the color and the shape look ridiculously good on her. Love the shoes, although we wouldn’t have gone for black. Girl just straight up looks hot. We wonder why she ever wound up looking frumpy in the past. It’s not like she’s hard to dress or hard to make look good. She’s ten minutes old and she’s got a killer body. This should be a no-brainer.

Who knew she could rock bright yellow orange and not look like she has rickets? Props, Gurl!!

      • kschwarting

I’m so envious of that!  I have the same coloring, but that color would look like hell on me.

On another note, on behalf of girls with actual tuckuses, I thank Jennifer for making us look good.

    • Magdalena Monzerrat Ontiveros

      I love the colro! LOL

      • alyce1213

LOL. Spellcheck didn’t catch it, did it?

    • Silly Grrl

I wish I looked that good with pneumonia (or you know, healthy).

      • H3ff

        The last shot is DAY-UM.

      • Alyssa

No joke! Very few people can pull off that color, let alone someone with pneumonia!

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I like the shoes only because they aren’t just basic black.  I love the look and she is wearing it very well.

      • 3boysful

The same style in a croc or brown print would be cute, too.

        • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

          Good call on the croc.

        • Brian

I misread that and wondered why anyone would need crocs with all those pearly embellishments.

      • MoHub

I like the shoes because they aren’t platforms.

    • Annabelle Archer

Girl that is your dress!  And your hair!  AND your killer pumps!  All kinds of snaps Lady.

      • Kristin McNamara

My feet ACHE for hers though. In the last picture, her right foot looks like it’s falling OUT of the shoe, it’s so steep. And in the third pic after the model, you can actually see redness/blisters forming on her right foot :(

    • charlotte

Great color, but it looks awfully wrinkly on her and on the model. Maybe it looked better on the show?

      • ChiKat67

It looked really good on the show.

    • foodycatAlicia

Gorgeous. Possibly not a great sitting down dress though?

      • girliecue

Probably not IRL but on the show she sat angled slightly away from the camera so you couldn’t really see the slit. She looked comfortable and didn’t squirm at all. No undesirable flashing of flesh, even though that looks like a given with that front slit.

        • foodycatAlicia

           Clever girl. Good to know!

        • Karen Maslowski

She was also delightful on the show. I had never seen her look so good.

          • girliecue

Right?? I just came back from seeing Silver Linings and have completely fallen under her spell. The girl has got IT in bucketsful! But her hair does look so much better lighter than dark.

    • Laylalola

She has boobs, and so much fashion isn’t made for them — I know I’ve posted here somewhere before that that’s why, even with a killer bod, she looked frumpy in at least one outfit this past year.

      • Jennifer Coleman

Co-sign this. She actually has a killer body, not one fabricated for the camera with push up bras, corsets and other props. Most high-end clothes without a touch of spandex does not respect the curves. Even this dress is smashing the boobies a bit, but it comes with the territory when dealing with designer frocks.

      • SugarSnap108

There is, no doubt, an anti-boob bent in fashion.

        • gabbilevy

Truly one of life’s greatest ironies.

        • LauraWL

Yes to this! I just watched a video where Garance Dore interviewed Stella McCartney and one of the things she said was that she really liked Stella’s clothes bc they were made for girls with boobs and so much designer stuff isn’t.

          • demidaemon

Does she smoke crack? Because I think a lot of (read:most) dresses made by Stella are either a) not bust friendly b) not figure flattering or c) just plain ugly.

    • siriuslover

She does look great. That color is just amazing on her.

    • alyce1213

I’m surprised that I say this, being a straight woman of a certain age — but this girl is just delicious!

      • Cassie

        She’s a fence-jumper, for sure.

      • nizea paqueo

she’s my fence jumper..talented, funny and she has curves..she was fantastic in Silver Linings!

        • alyce1213

Agree, it was a feisty, captivating performance.  She’s got talent, which also separates her from the bunch.

    • ChiliP

      Freaking finally! Jen, you’re a 10. Stop dressing like you’re a 6.

    • Sobaika

      YES! COLORS!

If I see more any more beige/navy/black/white this awards season I will not be happy.

      • Annabelle Archer

Daily Mail has pics of her in THREE solid color dresses, looking fab in all. In my head she’s working test runs to find what looks best. She is one of my most anticipated women of the event.

    • NDC_IPCentral

I love the color, too, and I’d love a top, or a skirt for that matter, in that shade in my wardrobe as well.  What a fresh eye-opener on a winter’s day.

    • Relax,ItsOnlyFashion

See this is what happens when she can wear what she wants and not be put into some ill-fitting old lady Dior look because of her contract. It reminds me of when Mila Kunis had her Dior contract and started dressing wearing all these Grace Kelly looks and the moment she got out of it started looking like she was in her 20s again.

    • Sara__B

She’s gorgeous, and the dress looks great on her, but I can’t help thinking it would look even better if it weren’t so tight the front slit was about to rip and the skirt makes wrinkles around her hips. Some ease in the fit looks so much better to me!

      • LLuL

Completely agree. One or two sizes up in the hips would make the dress more flattering and practical. Still, she looks better than ever in this shape and color. It could have been a straight-up, undisputed WERQ.

      • Dot

Agree. I am not a fan of that huge slit and the tightness just accentuates it — makes me wonder how you sit down in that thing without flashing the world!

    • decormaven

      Young and fun! Good job.

    • AthenaJ

I wish the pics were of better quality, cause girl is working it hair to shoes! Glad she finally found her style groove, here’s hoping she stays in it!

    • Jessica Rowe

I really don’t know of anyone that doesn’t like her.  Or this outfit.

    • Imasewsure

Love me some dots… love love love yellows on people who can wear them too

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

i love love love the dress she came into the studio in. gorgeous aqua, ladylike but such a beautiful color and fit for her. this is great too. i’m surprised how well she wears these updated joan holloway looks because she always struck me as more of a hippie, california blonde, bo derek type. but the works so well with her proportions and coloring. but i do much prefer the aqua number she came in with.

    • Kathy_Marlow

She should get that dress in every color and variable style (with the peplum, w/out, short sleeved, etc) and wear the hell out of them.

    • formerlyAnon

      “She’s ten minutes old . . .”!

This sounds like it should be a common expression but I can’t remember hearing it before. I’ll be using it.

      • sweetestsith

Agree. Her hair has been looking SO much better lately, better shape, really lovely color transition (I assume she is going back to blonde at least), pretty styles. I hope she keeps this hair team for awhile!

      • K

Yes. I watched the show and the whole time marveled at her hair. This is my favorite hair color for her by far. It’s nice to see a mix of tones in there and it looked great.

    • procrastinatrice

Oh my damn.  That is all. I will be dreaming about that dress and those shoes. Not to mention having that body.

    • Gabriella M

I’m now craving sherbert – and particularly melon – colored shift dresses for spring/summer. If you close the coochie slit, it’d be perfect for work.

    • teensmom99

This is what a peblum should look like. Wow!  Also, I like that when JLaw pulls it together,  she doesn’t look like she’s playing dress up in mom’s clothes  (which is how I always feel about Kristin Stewart).  As to black shoes, I think they were a good choice to winterize this look a little.

      • 3boysful

I know–I am not a huge peplum fan, but the shorter, pointed in the front version is cute.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

WERQ – if she had gone one size up.

    • Aidan B

Freaking fabulous!! I want to be her, but I think I want those shoes just a tiny bit more.

    • Trisha26

She looks great overall, but I just want to take that skirt and yank it around so the slit’s in the back. This is vulgar.

    • MilaXX

She looks great. She mentioned in a post SAG interview that Rachel Zoe styled her. Is this new? If so that may be be reason for the change.

    • warontara

I want this dress SO BAD. She looks great!

    • redhead with tattoos

Saw her on Kimmel last night in this dress, read a lot more mustardy yellow on screen, still bloody gorgeous. Win all around.

    • E. D.

Yay!  Dress looks great + no platforms on the shoes = WIN

      • tereliz

She so doesn’t need them, she must be 6′ tall in 4″ heels!

      • Pamela

I also YAY for no platforms, although I still can’t fathom wearing heels that high.  Like T-Lo said, her legs are 2 minutes old but ouch!

    • tereliz

      God, I want her legs…

    • Danielle Lisle

      SNAPS in respect!

    • mjude

she is becoming one of my fave young actresses.  love her

    • m0r0

It’s and orange yellow it makes a world of difference on those of us who cannot wear yellow. Try it if you have the opportunity. I can’t wear orange either but this color will surprise.

    • BrooklynBomber

    • JaCory Deon

She looks better than the model in this dress.  Bam!  The Chorus is silent.

      • Stubenville

Agreed, but the model styling is whack.

        • kimmeister

          I think the model’s shoes have eyes . . .

    • SewingSiren

      Devil eye.

    • janinedm

I’ll point out that this isn’t contractually obligated Dior.

    • Julie Chase

Giiiiiiiirl crush! I covet those shoes. And the legs that fill them.

    • kimmeister

I think the basic shape of the dress looks amazing on her, but the darts at the top of the waist look wonky on both her and on the model.

    • MissAmynae

she’s hot as hell, and i desperately want to share a big ol’ bottle of Jameson with her.

      • fursa_saida

She is probably top of my list of People I Would Like to Get Drunk With.

    • Shawn EH

Killer shoes, killer hair, killer dress = nailed it!

    • ellabob

Obsessed with those shoes!!!   love the dress – you go girl…

    • PeaceBang

If Miss Lawrence can kill off the clodhopper pumps trend by the sheer force of her hotness, I will be forever grateful. P.S. I still hate peplum dresses like this and Amy Adams’ polka-dot number.

    • libraangel

Somehow something is off for me – too loud color? too printy shoes? Sorry, T&L, I can’t agree with your assessment.

    • subwaycars

Love the color, and the shoes and I her hair. Damn, girl.

    • MichelleRafter

Amen. So nice to see a girl with some meat on her bones.

    • PaulaBerman

She looks so good with her hair down and more natural makeup. Often her face is overdone and it doesn’t play to her natural beauty… I have a crush on her!

    • Eleonora Rossi

She’s great, so powerful, I love this dress on her and I want those shoes!

    • marlie

Love it. And I’d kill for those shoes.

    • Melinda Mary

Don’t think much of the dress on the model, however it looks great on a real woman with some curves.

    • margaret meyers

I’m so glad she didn’t go with the fatigue hat from the runway look.

    • Vera

      Girl crush ON!

    • julnyes

      Love the look, love JLaw
      (hated Silver Linings Playbook)

    • guest2visits

Loved the blue shoes on the model until I saw they had EYES.   This is one of Jennifer’s best looks.

    • meebs

    • Lilak

She is one luscious little Cheeto!!

    • quiltrx

It looks like it’s pulling in places, but otherwise it looks pretty great.  And those shoes are WICKED.

    • bertkeeter

      THAT’S what I like….super color,modern classic shape……NO intelectual BS….just subtle and sexy! A total WERQ!

    • kikisayshi

LOVE every bit of it. I could smell a WERQ if this were on a step-and-repeat.

    • pop_top

I love everything about this. The color, her hair, those shoes!
      Dior should be shamed.

    • cheekypinky

    • Nicole

      girl can WERQ!
she looks absolutely fabulous and I think the hair compliments this really well
