Needs more colour and more makeup.  And more accessories.  More everything

  • charlotte

Color! Please, I’m begging for it. You don’t want the Oscar statue to outshine you.

  • gabbilevy

What’s up with all the drab dresses? Clearly, the ladies are running on fumes. Go home, celebs, take a bubble bath, come back for the Oscars.

    • halleyg

Good idea! I’m so bored. Where’s the fashion?

    • Candigirl1968

There seems to be a real style line in the sand between the stars who came up before life was all paparazzi and fashion moments (Helen and Sally) and those who came after (Anne and Amy).  I wish a young stylist or designer would volunteer to help shake things up for these very fit, attractive, but not 28 year old, women.

      • Airkisses

Even Amy looks very uncomfortable on Red Carpets. She came into showbusiness relatively late. I get the feeling that her style might be more casual and/or conservative in general, rather than these showy outfits the younger ones (Anne, for example) wear.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

    Blah’d About You.

    • dress_up_doll

Wow. That’s a blast from the past. It was a good show, wasn’t it? Wonder what ever happened to Paul?

      • RedRaven617

Paul Reiser is actually appearing here in Palm Springs with Rita Rudner. I forgot the date.

      •  I saw him in Hermosa Beach, CA at the Comedy Corner. He was hysterical.

  • that color makes me sad.

  • I like the shape, I like her hair, I like that she doesn’t seem to be Botoxing herself into oblivion.

But my god, looking at this makes me want to take a brightly colored marker to my computer screen!

    • Carly Warnock

I disagree. Her forehead looks wide, shiny and wrinkle-free. I think she is definitely doing some botoxing. She is aging very nicely though. Some more colour is needed.

      • Hmmm, you’re right. I mostly noticed what was going on below her eyebrows — I guess that’s more Juvederm than Botox territory 🙂

Still, if she’s had work done, to me it looks like “has she had work done?” and not “she’s had way too much work done.”

        • Noelle Haland

Really?  Every time I look at her, I think of all the work she looks like she’s done – surgerizing & not ‘only’ injecting. She barely looks like her old self.

        • Alessia M

I agree with you, Stella. I think it’s her eyes. She’s always had very distinctly shaped eyes, and I’m glad she hasn’t messed with them (or has messed with them very well).

  • Kathy_Marlow

The shoes don’t look like they go, they look like a version of espadrilles (summery) and the dress is not that season.  The whole thing could use some definite OOMPH

  • Imasewsure

Nice shape and would have been pretty in just about any other color… fugly frumpy shoes

  • I think she’s looking good here, but she’d look GREAT if there was some color somewhere.  Statement necklace perhaps?  Pop of color shoes?  All of the above?

  • lexilexi

This dress may need a bit of color, but it makes her bod look fantastic!  Not crazy about the granny sandals, even if they are Jimmy Choo’s.

  • Sobaika

Someone slap her makeup artist. Thanks in advance.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

    50 Shades of Meh.

  • Snore.

  • I don’t particularly mind her in a neutral color, but THIS isn’t the neutral color for her. Bolder accessories – or accessories at all – could have helped, though those shoes are ALL wrong.

  • Could totally like this with a color in the shoes.

  • The body’s slammin’, but that dress cries out for color in the accessories.  And those shoes should be burned.

  • another_laura

She looks good in this dove grey color.  Those shoes are kind of a crime with this dress.

  • TonyGo

Those shoes hurt my feelings.  Very Sophia Petrillo.

  • Annabelle Archer

Even with the lack of jewelry, I was on board until I got to the shoes.  Why are shoes always where the worst decisions are made?

  • Once again, hate the shoes. I know shoe design is in kind of an ugly phase, but there are some good looking ones out there. Jeesh.

The older Helen Hunt gets, the more I like her.

  • MilaXX

I wish this dress was navy blue. Burn the shoes.

  • mmc2315

    Beautiful.  It’s very “her”.

Just have to change out those shoes, girl.

  • rumcg66

She never wears color and I’m irrationally pissed off by that. Also, those shoes suck, especially with that dress.

  • That is a great dress for her, but the color is to bland.

  • Too much, too white under eye concealer.

  • E. D.

Ugh, shiny and pleated and dull color.

  • Jackie4g

Not a lot of people can carry off subtle and understated and given the venue where these pictures were taken, even fewer people would try. Ms Hunt is a woman of a certain age, in great physical condition, and seemingly more comfortable with the low key colors in hair, make up and clothing. Leave her alone, she wears it all well. OK, yes, the shoes are bad.

  • wow that’s a great dress on her. I actually like the gray, but some poppy shoes would have been fun

  • I think that Helen needs to look in to bangs.

  • I think that Helen needs to look into bangs.

  • Judy_J

That’s a great dress on her….I just wish she’d worn some shoes with a bit more color.

  • Fordzo

    Those shoes hurt my feelings.

  • Janet B

Love the dress on her, but it needs a bit of blue or green in it.
Did she forget to change her shoes before leaving the limo??

  • AuntieAnonny

Pretty dress ruined by Uno Boob. Seriously, where’s the other one?

  • decormaven

If this gal ever wears a colored gown, I will know it’s a sign of the Apocalypse. Great dress, but why can’t it be something other than a neutral shade?

  • Dear God, those hideous, horrible shoes, with that colorless dress? Why, Helen, why?

  • I don’t mind the color — I think she looks lovely.

  • BuffaloBarbara

A very nice shape and drape, but how awesome would it be if they’d remembered to dye the fabric into some color?  Pretty much any color.  How about a nice royal blue?  Wine red?  Flash up the make-up and dye the dress and you’d have a WERQ.

  • yybb

For the seemingly talented actress she surprisingly has only expression on the red carpet.

  • When I saw “Dolce and Gabbana” I groaned and was all prepared for another eye-twitching black lace dress tarted up with gold accents and gauzy underlays.  This is shockingly, wonderfully, NOT that at all, and I do love it.  But the color is SO unsuited to her.    And what color is this, anyway? Steel gray?   Helen, you should send this dress to Halle Berry or Frieda Pinto or some other gorgeous woman of color and let her rock it.  You, my dear, need to get in touch with your inner Crayola box.

  • stubbornthoughts

Love this dress on her, but if it were a navy blue I think it would’ve launched this into WERQ territory. Though that would also require other shoes.

  • larshine

Dear God, those shoes. Oh honey, no.

  • capybara_cafe

Even though it’s not a nice, bright color like I’d like to see, I still love the shape and cut of the dress, and I think it looks fab on her.

  • Where is our pretty for the day?!!!  Meaning, of course, Hugh Jackman at the same luncheon.

  • Christy Cricow

I like this dress a lot, but the color is that of dead flesh. No thanks.

  • RocknRollmom

Color is not your enemy, Ms. Hunt.  Also find a new make up artist.  Ditch those horrible shoes or only with the jeans or casual skirt they were intended to be worn with, not a cocktail dress.  Also, she does get points for strategic, well done work.  She is letting herself age, but a little botox and a little filler (most likely recently done in light of the cheeks and eyes) considering how thin she is otherwise.  (I read a lot about this….yeah that’s right.  I read a lot).

  • It looks like I’m alone here, but I think she looks pretty great. A different shoe was definitely in order, but I think that shade of greige is lovely on her.

    • Spicytomato1

I’m with you. The dress is flattering, both in the cut and color. And, much like her contemporary Julia Louis Dreyfus, the woman seems ageless! Wow.

  • nannypoo

It’s not the most exciting color, but it’s pretty and it looks nice on her. The shoes are the work of devil.

  • Those SHOES! Yikes!

  • I love her in this dress but I so wish it was a beautiful shade of eggplant or anything else but this dull colour.

  • She’s been killing it lately.  The style and fit of that dress are great on her.  Hair, makeup and jewelry, very nice.  That said … COLOR!  SHOES!

  • 4JJ

The shape and length of her dress and colour of her hair are great, but vice versa is all bad.

  • BitterKittenJessie

I like the soft grey on her BUT the accessories needed to pick the dress up- not drive it to bland land…. Is anyone else not a fan of the bust draping?  Left boob- non existent sag compared with the gigantic right one .

    • J. Preposterice

right? it’s just screaming for killa earrings or a statement necklace or red shoes or…something.

  • What a blah dress.

  • Molly

The dress fits her perfectly. I think she looks like a chic, real, graceful woman.  The color is the very definition of drab, but she look good!

  • Dot

Fit is great; I think her makeup artist forgot to blend the concealer under her eyes.

  • Trisha26

The dress is okay…what is it with white & gray on the RC? Hate the shoes.

  • ballerinawithagun

I thought sure it was going to be a Donna Karan, really surprised that it is D & G.

  • spooki C

Fire your makeup artist! She looks quite good otherwise.

  • Noelle Haland

It’s a pretty dress with a nice shape on her, but just imagine if it had been in a rich color. Those shoes are dreadful. Blech.

  • HOt Mama needs better shoes.

  • unbornfawn

  • LOVE the simplicity of this…it is her style n works on her…she is not a “trend of the moment and every accessorie under the skies” kind of girl!

  • libraangel

Very nice, but please, a pop of color somewhere!

  • Oh, girl those shoes! Great dress though, too bad it’s in such a drab color.

  • The shape is great, the hair is great, everything about this is making me feel sad.

  • great dress for her, just needed to be in a different colour, and different shoes.

  • I love her. I mean I really love her. This is a lovely shape on her but this putty color is drab and boring. She also needs more makeup, a necklace and better earrings, and cooler shoes. If this were in or out, I’d give her an in for shape but an out for color and accessories. Her hair is lovely though.

  • gracedarling

I can’t figure out whether her eye make-up is horrible or if she usually wears glasses, but if it’s the latter, for God’s sake, wear them, Helen! This would have been phenomenal in a burnt orange or deep blue, with some statement glasses and better shoes. As it is, her eyes, feet, and body are all receding, which is a pity as colour aside, the dress is flattering as hell.

  • appliquer

Like the dress, but what’s with the shoe color?

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

The neckline and dress shape are flattering as hell. I don’t mind the color, either. The shoes are an abomination.

  • bringbackbeatles

She looks stunning, but… that dress is terrific for her except its color. It’s pretty, but very drab against her skin tone and a real color would look great. Shoes are awful. Love the hair and makeup.

  • formerlyAnon

I like, lack of color notwithstanding. She looks FABULOUS.

  • Has she always been this gaunt?

  • StillGary

    SHe looks great!

  • Jennifer Coleman

Oh my eyes! Who knew clashing beiges could be so painful.
The dress looks great, but the accessorizing is awful.

    • libraangel

Isn’t the dress more like a gray?

  • jmorino08

What I wouldn’t give for a body like that!

  • kathrineb

    Does she have colorphobia?

  • The dress is matching her concealer.

  • insertclevername_ici

I disagree with everyone here. Not everything needs to be in a bright color and Miss Hunt looks fabulous. She is classically beautiful and is dressed very appropriately for the venue. And she managed to do all that without growing up in the era of stylists. luv her

  • guest2visits

The shoes took the dress way down.  Otherwise, I thought she looked good.

  • librarygrrl64

Everything between the neck and the knees is…okay. The shoes should be burned.
