Very chic, even though the shoes are a bit of a let down.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

A cute little dress. Not loving on those shoes, though.

    • http://twitter.com/DarrenMcMahon54 Darren McMahon

      Fried egg realness!

      • http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/lastbutnotleast janinedm

I’m worried that the styling makes her look over-easy.

    • mshesterp

Ugh, hate it.  She looks sickly.  Well, everything from the neck down–the face and hair are cute.  But the color does nothing for her.   I just want to put a jacket on her and warm her up.

      • oldbobbydraper

she is the same color white as the white in the dress!! it’s a wonder no one was blinded!

    • gabbilevy

Glad she filled in the sheer and the length is better than the model’s. Don’t mind the shoes, but there was probably a better choice out there.

Funny, she’s got basically the same hair/makeup as yesterday, but this is *miles* better.

      • Sobaika

Hmmm, I was thinking her skin tone just blended with more opacity, but you’re right. It was a smart move.

        • gabbilevy

It looks like it’s either different fabric or lines, but it’s kind of tough to tell on my screen.

          • capybara_cafe

Yeah, it’s definitely different fabric. I thought skin tone till I got to the shoulder, but it’s the same color where that small wrinkle in the fabric is. I really think it loses some interest without a 3rd, more obvious color.

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Huh, maybe you’re right. At first I thought it was lined in white, but maybe it is just her skintone. Kind of loses some interest, in my opinion.

      • j_anson

Her lips are just as bright, but they’re coral instead of hot pink, and coral works SO much better on her.

      • shawnhunter

this is actually what she wore to the photocall earlier in the day before the premiere. for some reason the hair looks much better here than in the other look though.

    • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

Those are some red lips.  Only thing I can really see in these images.  Esp with the beige shoes.

    • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

She looks great! Love the hairdo, makeup, dress (glad she had it shorten). The shoes should be a different color though. OR maybe some kicky sandals in metallic gold.

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I was thinking the same thing. Gold would have been *perfect* here.

    • http://twitter.com/SillyGrrlJen Silly Grrl

Wouldn’t have picked the putty shoes, but this is much better. Now put that shitty pink lipstick away FOREVER.

    • Indigo54

Wow, is it the lighting?  She looks so pasty.  I can see the veins thru her skin.  ugh

      • Angela_the_Librarian

Nothing wrong with being “pasty!” I will say though that the thought of wearing this little summer dress in the winter in Berlin make me shiver. Hopefully they had the heat turned up to tropical!

        • Beardslee

My thought exactly.  February in Berlin and she’s wearing a flimsy sleeveless dress. Too bad the ‘pre-fall’clothes had not arrived to save her from chilblains.

      • Rachelle Neame

I think that the blue background isn’t really helping warm her skin tone up. But her skin looks flawless.

    • Annabelle Archer

She went from fun to frigid.  What a let down.

    • MilaXX

I like everything but that shoe.

    • j_anson

I… don’t think she’s quite pulling off that yellow. But I kinda like it anyway.

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

so cute! too bad about those shoes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1677420035 Nicole Seligman

much better, miss emma. this look is definitely in your wheelhouse. i would have loved a more pop-py earring, but these are sweet.

    • elemspbee

cute! i like that she’s playful with her style. Or that her stylists are playful with dressing her.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Cute! The nude shoes don’t even bother me that much – this is so popping with that bright yellow and red lipstick that another color in the mix would have made her look like a cartoon. (I say this even as a person who tends toward cartoonish looks myself.) Wish they’d turned the sheer bit into another color for contrast; the white lining is fine but it loses some of the interest.

    • EverybodysStarling

I like my eggs sunny side up, so: first time I like something that Stelle McCartney created.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

Shoes are sad. Otherwise, she looks adorable.

    • http://twitter.com/Nancer Nancer

While I am not a fan of skin tight dresses, the fit on the model’s version is much better than Emma’s. Much more flattering, in that it gave her a shape while Emma is just looking shapeless. I’m thinking she needed to go down a size.

    • Jessi03

I like her stank face most of all.

    • AuntieAnonny

      That’s how you do it.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

The dress looks kind of cheap (seriously, that is a pillowcase hem) but it’s cute otherwise. Plus Emma looks good and I don’t hate the shoes this time.

    • suzq

This is Stella McCartney for Target, right?  This version takes all of the interesting things out of the runway dress and renders them in cheap fabric.  Nope.  Emma got the shaft here.

Also, why line the dress in white?  Why, why, why???

      • margaret meyers

        She got the s h i f t  shaft.

      • demidaemon

Yes, it takes everything that was ugly in the dress and actually makes it cute.

    • E. D.

Knee-length and it would be a WERQ for me.

    • DominoEstella

    • Sara__B

Who else wear colors that wash her out in an out-of-season dress (she looks frozen) and still look so cute?

    • filmcricket

With the red lips and yellow dress, she looks like 2/3 of a condiment collection. She should have gone with green shoes to complete the set.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

      One big giant — MEH.

      • capybara_cafe

My thoughts exactly. It’s just not doing anything for her. I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it at all.

    • margaret meyers

      Home sewing.  Expensive home sewing.

      • decormaven

True! My sister made this better in Home Ec in 1968. And if they decided to leave off the beige detail in the dress, why in the heck did they pick those hiddy pumps as an accent for this look?

    • B_C_J

This dress is utterly boring and shapeless. The shoes are a yawn. Her hair and makeup are pretty with exception of an overly bright lip.

    • crash1212

Well, I don’t hate this – but mostly because Emma got rid of the see through netting thingy that the poor model had to wear.

    • Alyssa

Emma Stone: You deserve better than Stella McCartney!

    • shiftercars

I love it. But she’s serving some serious ketchup & mustard realness. I can’t help but see condiment couture.

      • l_c_ann

It would look much better were it graced with a necklace made of pickle slices.

    • Stubenville

Does Stella pay celebrities to wear this stuff?

      • libraangel

I know – I think she does, but another question: why is she a designer?  (I could design the above – it’s so boring)

    • Kyle Crawford

Is it not still February ? How is this anything more than a not very exciting beach cover up? I do like the runway one though…

    • shelley514

This dress on her looks just the way it does when on a hanger in the closet, straight with no personality.  Quite dull.

    • http://twitter.com/chylde chylde

That girl needs some bronzer. Something. She’s fish-belly white!

      • julesj

and marbled white legs…not a great look.

    • nannypoo

I like it, but it’s nothing special. I don’t like her lipstick at all.

    • ojosazules

Why do they even bother attaching the names of something as passé as seasons when doing the collections? Spring this, Fall that, what on Earth does that have to do with anything?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000393765005 Garcia Loca

Runway version is tons better: 1. Sheer panel/stripe adds visual interest to an otherwise too-casual outfit. 2. Longer dress flows better. 3. Emma’s shoes are incongruous to the dress. 4. And this is just my personal opinion — this is the look for a brunette girl with olive skin, like the runway model in this example.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Love the hair and makeup. She’s SOOOOO pale that even that white white blends with her skin tone. I love the huge pop of yellow, and I also like that it’s shorter than the runway version, but I wish she’d have gone a skosh longer, and that the contrast color between the white and yellow was more pronounced. And worn different shoes. Overall, though, she looks really good here.

ETA: Though I can’t get past the fact that this is SUCH a summery dress…

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=149100065 Virginia McMurdo

I like to call those shoes “the ironic nude pump.” It is played out!

    • lizlemonglasses

Congrats to Stella McCartney for seemingly banging out the same quality I did on my home sewing machine in 1994! Emma looks gorgeous, though. I love her hair and makeup, and unlike the commenter who called her “fish-belly white,” I’ll say that I love that she’s not drenched in orange tanner like every other 20-something ladystar. I’d forgo bronzer with skin that gorgeous, too.

    • mjude

is this our 1st like for a stella dress?

    • mhleta

Boy, they sucked all the fun right out of that dress when they took it off the runway.

    • Zippypie

Love the hair and makeup SANS lipstick.  That color is just not working.

She looks like a fried egg.

    • PuttyGalore

That looks a LOT like the dress Samantha made on last week’s Project Runway…

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

It doesn’t fit well, and the color washes her completely out.  Plus, she’s so pale that the sheer insert loses its impact.

    • amian3

She looks lovely: hair, make up, dress. The shoes are dullsville.

But it is February! This is a summer outfit so unless you are in the southern hemisphere is it really odd. Like all the velvet we will be seeing in July.

    • Molly

Cute dress. A little eggy. Shoes are sad.

    • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

The dress is cute and punchy, if a little shapeless. But I would have loved a bolder shoe and a softer lip with this.

    • Nonmercisansfacon

Emma’s version of the dress looks way better than the runway version! She looks good. Colofurl shoes would have been the way to go though.

    • bertkeeter

      Liked runway version better!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Dare I say she should have worn the runway version of the top?  It at least breaks up the mental image of a sunny side up egg (that’s upside down)…otherwise it’s just a standard dress.  I love that hair though.

    • PastryGoddess

Her expression says everything about this outfit

    • Trisha26

I love people who stay out of the sun and her hair looks cute! But the shoes are hein and that dress is way too casual for the event.

    • peachy

pretty, sort of…….in a ghostly, egg sort of way, i suppose. the model looks far better — can’t  tell…. is ms. stone’s version complete with the mesh across the bust area? her skin is almost as white as mine and nearly the identical color of the mesh/net/whatev that is. she doesn’t look bad at all. sort of, newly born-ish. a stylish newly born-ish thing.

    • pookiesmom

This is the freshest I’ve seen her look in a while. I love it!

    • teensmom99

Well she looks better in those Stella color blocking with weird curves than any one else does.  Fun blue shoes would have been great.

    • TaurusKW

Note: A sheer strip next to white fabric is a TERRIBLE choice on someone so pale.

    • PeaceBang

She’s just so adorable I’m going to overlook the terrible shoes and the fact that I’m actually liking a Stella McC.

    • demidaemon

Again, proof that a heavily modified Stella is actually cute. In that it is no longer a Stella dress.

    • formerlyAnon

Nice dress, but the washing-out effect of the white near her face is not entirely counter-balanced by the lipstick.

    • boweryboy

By removing the sheer and raising the length it changes it from (ugly) high end to H&M.

She looks like she’s wearing a cheap wrinkly T-shirt dress.  The lips are too red.  And I can’t even with the shoes.

    • bd73

three thoughts: 1) what would it look like with red hair? 2) this is the eye-searing egg-yolk color of mr. lovegood’s suit at the weasley wedding in the final “harry potter” and 3) the shoes prove how on the fence she is about this. a bold, heavy shoe, maybe with a black line it for definition, would have cemented the look – oh, and 4) there’s a lady on tv who sells tubes of makeup that cover up the veins in your legs so they look smooth and flawless too. takes two minutes.

    • RzYoung

      Snoozzze, like the ring though

    • http://twitter.com/lisledanielle Danielle Lisle

Chic, but I wish she hadn’t filled in the illusion netting.

    • lobsterlen

      She looks like an egg.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Nope.  I mean, come on – it’s Stella.

    • librarygrrl64

I love everything but the shoes.
