Oh dear. The skirt hits at such an unflattering point. She looks a bit blocky in this, which is not something I usually  associate with her!

      • heartbot

I’m so over tea length dresses on the red carpet. They make everyone look stumpy, and they’ve been everywhere the last few months.

    • KGW

Where’s Rhett?  Modern day Scarlet. Curtain Fabric.

      • Kim Baker Vidas Davey-Irvin

“i saw them in the winder and just HAD to have them.”

    • Alexis Peñafuerte Wenceslao

Mullet skirt in awkward length. No.

    • Alyssa T. Robot

i wanna like it… but i just don’t. i think its the ankle straps with the length of the dress.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Top half is perfection – bottom is heavy.  Too bad!!

    • lehen

      oh man.  so bad.

    • Aidan B

The mullet hem strikes again, ruining an otherwise stylish and flattering look.

      • RedRaven617

Who ever thought a mullet hem was a good idea… ugh!!

    • IAmJ

Should this even count as a dress? Put in some effort, MK!

      • alyce1213

Obliged to wear Kors, it seems.  Assuming they gave her some options, she could have picked better.

    • alyce1213

Why am I thinking about Dorothy Kilgallen?  Oh, that dress. (Though I suppose back in her day, Dorothy would have had 3/4 sleeves.)
The bag is also wrong, as are the too-big shoes.  Her hair is too long, it’s boring, no contour — but at least it’s not coming down on both sides like cocker spaniel ears.
CZJ is so stunning, I wish she’d represent better.

    • MilaXX

Not sure I like the mullet skirt on her, but coupled with that granny purse this is very aging on her.

      • LLuL

I was about to laugh at you for saying the look ages her. But then I googled to confirm she was over 50 and discovered that she’s in her early 40s. You are right- This combo is aging. That said, CZJ is striking and always will be.

        • Stubenville

Holy crap! I thought she was a well preserved SIXTY.

          • filmcricket

Oh come on. I’m sorry, but outside of Hollywood how many sixty-year-olds can you name who look like this? She looks her age. I think we’ve just become so used to the overly filled and botoxed denizens of LA that we don’t recognize what a (relatively) natural aging process looks like.*

For perspective, think about the fact that Julianne Moore and Julia L-D are the same age Rue McClanahan was when Golden Girls began.

*(I’m sure CZJ has had some work done, but she appears to have avoided the tight ‘n’ shiny pitfalls a la Kidman, for example.)

            • kimmeister

There was a post here a couple of months ago where it was clear she had just had something done around her eyes.  It didn’t even look like her.  Things appeared to have settled in better by now.

            • TerryMH

Yeah a little better, but to me, she looks like when you take a picture with an automatic focus camera and its a bit blurry right before the lens gets it sharp and snaps it.  I wish lady stars would stop with the face work, but in the world of Hollywood, she’s probably considered a “natural beauty.”

        • WhiteOprah

Well- there are a lot of rumors that she has taken some liberties with her age.

        • MilaXX

She married old. Perhaps that’s why you thought she was older.

      • Sing4yursupper

The last couple things that she’s worn have aged here. What’s going on here?

    • prettybigkitty

It looks like she got into a fight with a roll of damask wallpaper and lost.

    • MoHub

I was doing okay until I scrolled past the knees. It’s as if the dress can’t make up its mind about how long it wants to be.

      • 3boysful

Right–she is so gorgeous (although that is a pound of makeup troweled on there), but this is scroll-down fug.

        • Maureen Cox

Agreed. CZJ is such a naturally gorgeous woman, but the super-heavy makeup she’s been sporting lately is painful and obscuring her beauty. I think she needs a big hug and a new makeup artist.

    • Danielle Lisle

That hem length is giving me unpleasant “Side Effects”.

    • Dot

Hate the hair, hate the wallpaper dress and I especially hate that ridiculous little clutch purse.

      • BrooklynBomber

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how’d you like the show? I kid. That little bag is awful.

      • 3boysful

Eeek.  I was so appalled by the mullet that I had to go back to look at the purse.  Could be cute for a lunch meeting with your agent;  looks horrible with this dress.

      • Stella Zawistowski

Oh goodness, that grandma bag has GOT to go.

      • Stubenville

But for the color, it’s a murse.

        • Dot

           A tiny little doll murse.

    • sablehunter

Oooh.  Me no likey.  That makeup is horrifying.  Mine looks better when I do it in the car… the dark.

    • E. D.

Hair, makeup, and jewelry look good.  Everything else is no good.

    • JaCory Deon

This dress makes her look shorter than she likely is and the Liz Taylor eyes aren’t working.  Also if you’re gonna go strapless you need to pull the hair back or up…it’s a bit too “garden party casual” otherwise.  The whole thing looks a bit too pedestrian for me.

    • teensmom99

I feel like the dress could look great (as a girl who with great gams, I have a fondness for the mullet dress) and I like the fabric’s play on the dreaded illusion netting.  But it’s like no thought was given to the styling.  I’d almost say it’s like she threw it on, but no one with that much make up threw anything on carelessly.  But this is missing the accessories–shoes, jewelry, purse–and hair that it needs. Can’t say that I know what those are, but they are missing.  I can’t agree with my fellow BKs that it is a fit issue or even a style issue.  I think this dress would look good on her curves if it were all more pulled together.

    • ccinnc

Scroll down fug. Everything else is ok for me. PS. While CZJ looks great in formalwear, she looks awkward in casual clothes. Appropos of nothing at all. :)

    • Annabelle Archer

It’s unfortunate that they ran out of material and couldn’t finish the dress, she was looking rather lovely down to a certain point.

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

This didnt need to be a mullet dress. Kill the train and add a cute belt and a necklace and she’d have nailed it. As is, this is not good.

    • marilyn

This is a Sound of Music Special:  She took some drapery and made a dress out of it.  Clever girl!

    • Jecca2244

is this custom? and that bag. whoah.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

I cannot stand mullet hems.  I’ve feel like I’ve seen this print everywhere and I hate that purse.  Otherwise, everything from the neck up and the ankles down is great.

    • Tatiana Luján

Burn the dress and remove that ridiculous amount of makeup off your eyebrows.

    • mmc2315

Everything was going well until I saw that hem.  Aw!

    • butterflysunita

Awful, heavy makeup.  Someone that beautiful should not be obscuring her face like that.  Not even going to comment on the mullet skirt because the other kittens have said all that needs to be said.

    • In_Stitches

Someone needs to tell that dress to trim it’s bangs; that mullet grew out far too long ago.

    • Maya

this is one of those “until you scroll” dresses. looks great, till you scroll down.

    • Trisha26

No to the train. No to the shoes. And I think I like a lace “print” even less than I like lace. Beautiful hair and makeup.

    • sleah_in_norcal

come on, MK, this is your grandmother at a bar mitzvah all over again.  and the makeup is awful.  spider leg lashes.

    • mhleta

I will take this dress over all the white noise out there any day. It’s a modern take on a flamenco dancer dress. She’s a dancer. Could easily pass for Latina. I think she looks pretty. If she’d accessorized with red, however, we’d have a problem.

      • l_c_ann

Maybe the Welsh had an Armada ship land there as well?  (see Black Irish)

    • filmcricket

Much as I loathe mullet hems, I’m actually pretty okay with the dress, although I don’t think it’s doing for her what she wishes it were. The shoes and purse are terrible though. A pop of colour with either would have helped a lot.

    • Janet B

      That’s not an evening bag.

    • MinAgain

I’m not feeling the bag, but she looks very pretty in that dress.  And the shoes would be a nice choice, if they fit her.

    • Garcia Loca

Couch in ladies’ room at Nordstrom.  But a VERY PRETTY couch.

    • ojosazules

      The fabric is ugly.

    • Pamela

Too long-would’ve been better cocktail length.

    • schadenfreudelicious

not diggin that mullet hem and the bag is better suited to luncheon than evening….

    • lrober03

To me it looks as if it’s a lace print, and not actual lace, which I would find to be a weird choice.
      Definite mullet skirt

    • libraangel

I am seasick and nauseous. Dramamine, please!

    • PeaceBang

TERRIBLE dress. The hair is also not up to snuff.

    • Kim Baker Vidas Davey-Irvin

… exactly what age does she pretend to be, again?

    • guest2visits

I like the dress for her; without the train, and definitely without that clutch.

    • Carlos Abreu

only in america michael kors is a designer

    • quiltrx

In the first shot, I thought the shape was very “Audrey in Sabrina” and I was prepared to be in love.  But I’m kind of disappointed it’s a regular mullet.

And I REALLY don’t care for these short-repeat-cheap-off-the-bolt laces.  It doesn’t look at all expensive, which we of course know it is.

      • filmcricket

THAT’s what it reminds me of, thank you! A sad, sorry imitation of Givenchy. Sigh. Now I want to watch Sabrina.

      • l_c_ann

“these short-repeat-cheap-off-the-bolt laces. ”  Yes, you’ve got the reason I saw it more as a colorless calico print than a posh lace.

    • bertkeeter

How do you spell FRUMPY in spanish?

    • marlie

For a mullet-dress, I like it a lot. But the accessories – shoes and bag – are ALL. WRONG.

    • dschubba

      Ew, no.

    • decormaven

All the dynamics are off here- the strapless neckline makes her appear broader than she is, the mullet skirt shortens her height, the shoes are ill-fitting, and I can’t even go there with the bag.

    • pookiesmom

      Yikes, this is bad.

    • Marie Fessler

She looks heavy.  Not just her weight, but her attitude.  Where is the cocky, beautiful smirk she usually wears?  Also, is it possible the heavy makeup (which so many have referred to) is to cover the effects of any work done on her face while she is healing?  I don’t know about these things. Just wondering.

    • Veronika Kaufmann

where’s Indiana Jones to rip off the ruffles?

    • Thom

HEEEELLL NO! Tacky-looking lace-printed fabric, a straight-across strapless neckline and then a shin-length mullet skirt? This looks like a sample dress from JoAnn Fabrics.

    • Alyssa

I like the print, but the hem kills it for me.

    • Ann Martina

      matronly, stiff, dowdy

    • Mary Lauer

OMG, mullet mother of the bride. How perfect that it is MIchael Kors!

      • libraangel

Exactly. What would the duchess say to this dress on PR?! AND even more importantly, how would he like the criticism ?
p.s. I think we should boycott MK anyway because of his extensive use of fur, but that’s just my opinion.

    •ês-Martins/100000345906318 Inês Martins

      ballroom dancing shoes… nope!
