She’s wearing a disco ball! And making it look cute!

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

She can wear damned near anything, it seems.  This is adorable on her.

        • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Amen! She’s adorable and she just makes it all work.

      • gsk241

         Absolutely!

      • bitchybitchybitchy

BK’s think alike-I was seeing disco ball, but cute as well.

        • http://rhymeswithtruculent.blogspot.com P.M.

*I* would wear a disco ball, if I could make it look that good.

    • http://twitter.com/BrerAndy Andy Morris

This kind of cute 60s retro chic thing suits her so much more than the Grand Dame looks she’s been throwing out on the Oscar campaign. Way more in her wheelhouse.

    • VeryClaire

Awesome dress, cute hair. She looks happy and comfortable. And extra kudos for none of your body parts looking like they are screaming in pain or about to expose themselves! That sets you apart these days, AH!

    • zenobar

Love this look from the Vidal Sassoon hair to the champagne pedi.

    • mmgk

Her eye makeup is really bizarre here.

      • Ms. Schmidt

It looks like they (or someone) didn’t line her lower lid either a) that well or b) completely.  It’s making her eyes look funky and not in a good way.  In that third picture, the photograph angle and the makeup all combine to look just awkward.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=610791985 Aniela Marie Perry

I like the concept but the execution is pretty bad.

    • Jessi03

      You go, Miss Annie!

    • http://www.facebook.com/ann.verwiebe Ann VerWiebe

Is that vintage? It’s really stretched out (except for the seamlines).

    • http://twitter.com/KayleyMaybe Kayley Maybe

I looked at this and was reminded of the female agent from “Get Smart.”  And then I remembered that she actually played that part in the recent movie version, right??

      • MilaXX

Yup to both. She’s giving us Agent 99

    • Hetha Innis

I don’t know, it looks like a bejeweled sack. Not into the eye make-up either. Yet somehow she still looks really cute. Bitch.

    • Annabelle Archer

Love it.  Love the cat eyes, love the sandal, love the length.  Only quibble is the complete disappearing act of her breasts.

      • VeryClaire

That’s ok, not everything has to be on dispaly all the time to look good!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000060490093 Anita Freiler Palmer

She looks like she has a stye in her one eye. It’s so oddly squished looking….

      • carolie_king

I thought they looked a bit uneven, and not just due to the bang treatment.  I wonder what was going on.

    • mhleta

Spectacular, but what’s going on with her eyes? Her right eye looks swollen shut, or maybe it’s that her left eye looks much bigger. I really notice it in the first shot.

    • http://twitter.com/lisledanielle Danielle Lisle

Bravo! Hire this makeup artist for life, Annie.

    • http://twitter.com/Nancer Nancer

Love it, she looks great. Those shoes are fabulous!

    • decormaven

Love the dress, but the eye treatment makes me think she’s missing an ankh and a was sceptre.

    • http://twitter.com/SillyGrrlJen Silly Grrl

      That is beautiful. Love it.

    • christinewithanx

It’s very Masters of the Universe. If she had long hair, it would look totally tacky.

    • Tatiana Luján

Love the dress. It has so much bling-bling, that I wish she had worn a more subdued shoe, like black stilettos.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Appropriate for a costuming award gala. Not so sure about the blingy shoes. Overall, good job.

    • d4divine

Underwhelming…she looks like she’s going to a cocktail party.

    • oatmealpie

She looks like Liv Tyler here, especially in the 5th photo.

    • http://profiles.google.com/denise.alden Denise Alden

It’s a little bit “Liza with a Z” but more tasteful.

      • H2olovngrl

Have you ever noticed how much she looks like a young Liza? Go watch one of Judy’s Christmas specials from the Sixties. It is uncanny.

    • mjude

      love the look.

    • LinXGUA

There’s a crucial moment in our lives. The moment when we must feel like Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra.
      Actually, i like it.

    • http://dentsdelait.tumblr.com/ Nancy Marion

I’m having Phi Phi O’Hara wonky eye flashbacks. Step away from the cat eye, Anne. Back. Away.

    • http://www.facebook.com/henry.maler Henry Maler

I like it. The eyeliner is weird but she’s being working the Very Serious Actress look for so long that this is a nice departure.

    • MilaXX

Pretty, but I’m not crazy about the shoe with this

      • kimmeister

        It’s too much, right?

    • melanie0866

      She looks cold.  But good.

    • aeb1986

The eye makeup is a little much for her but she looks SLAMMIN’ in this!! Who thought Anne Hathaway would rock the sexy disco ball mini dress? I like!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1576973112 Patricia Groves Dobrowski

It’s cute, but I can’t shake the thought that if you give her some wings, she’d look like Glam Tinkerbell.

    • margaret meyers

      A winning look.

    • Introspective

glittery with a side of cute is never not a good thing. nice work annie.

    • stubbornthoughts

      Love everything but the shoes!

    • MaryanneGirl

NO MORE HATHAWAY. I need a BREAK from her. Take your Oscar and go home! LEAVE ME ALONE.

    • Monday1900

Very Barbra!  Amazed at all the work on that dress–it’s beautiful.  I look at the dress though, and not at her.

    • Stubenville

Does Hathaway go to every award show?

    • Imasewsure

Kind of a disco Cleopatra thing going on there… love the glitter shoes too but (dare I say) I wish they were a bit chunkier since the dress is so heavy

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Inês-Martins/100000345906318 Inês Martins

not keen on those shoes with that dress, too matchy matchy on the bling side for me!

    • peachy

all the individual parts are right; but somehow, i still am not crazy about it.

    • BuffaloBarbara

Very cute.  Not everyone could work it, but it’s nice here.  The shoes may break some Geneva convention rules, though.

    • kschwarting

She looks great, but girl, I’m not sure that’s your eye makeup.  It’s making her eyes look wonky in some shots.

    • holzfaellen

I feel cold looking at her. Doesn’t look february to me. Then again, I’m not in California…

    • sweet_potato

She looks really great in this.  The dress, while CRAY, works fabulously here.  She’s rocking that whole Edie Sedwick factory chic.  Perfect hair and perfect eyeliner.

    • merciblahblah

Dammit, I can’t stand her, but I have to give credit where credit is due. She looks fantastic. LOVVVVVING that modified/modernized cat eye makeup so hard, and her matchy metallic pedicure.

    • alyce1213

Weird, unflattering eye makeup and very weird hair — like a back-to-front comb over.
The dress is a disco ball so it’s fun, but she’s looked a lot better.

    • Susan Crawford

I love the sleeked out hair! Very chic. The gold polish on her tootsies is killah, too. The dress is also kind of fabulous, but honestly, at this point, I’m getting tired of seeing Ms. Hathaway at EVERY SINGLE EVENT. Yes, I know she’s on a mission to nail that Oscar, but enough is enough. Do yourself a favor and stay home just once. You can wear your cozy flannel PJ’s, your fuzzy slippers and eat some Chunky Monkey out of the carton. Trust me, no-one will forget you.

    • Sara__B

I’m not a fan of the eyeliner, the dress, or the shoes, but somehow she looks good anyway. There must be magic involved.

    • EEKstl

      Adorbs, love the hair!

    • ConnieBV

Two snaps in a Z formation. ARGYLE SNAPS.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

GREAT hair and makeup. BEAUTIFUL dress. But Payless shoes (that don’t fit well).

Disclaimer: She’s at the top of my celebrity girl-crush list, so she can do almost no wrong.

    • crash1212

      Beautiful.

    • Trisha26

      Adorable & sophisticated head-to-toe.

    • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

Love it! The girl can work a shimmer, that’s for sure. The eyeliner is a bit strange but that’s my only complaint.

    • E. D.

Don’t like the eye makeup, but otherwise great considering the event.

    • l_c_ann

I’m not sure it’s the eye makeup that’s making her eyes look wonky.  I think one of them isn’t opening as much as the other, as if she has pink eye or some such.

Well, we’ll have something to watch for in five nights.

    • B_C_J

The dress is chic, fun and it suits her perfectly. I am not loving the eye makeup. It is making her look odd. The shoes are not my favorite but that has to do with the fact that perhaps they are not buckled tightly enough.

    • AmeliaEve

      Like a mod Cleopatra. Love.

    • Zippypie

If there was a moment for a redder lip, this was it.

I do love the dress but she looks washed out.  The shoes almost ruin the look with that bowed out crystal encrusted strap.

      • BrooklynBomber

She looks awfully tired; maybe the red lip would’ve brightened her up. But there’s something about the dress that’s off; maybe a skooch longer and not curving up at the hem would be better.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

The Cleopatra eye makeup is a little bit odd, but she looks lovely. She’s really serving up that Liza realness. Love her hair.

    • formerlyAnon

This looks great on her. The shoes could have had a little color with the bling, but I quibble.

    • PrunellaV

Wow, I can almost see her breaking into a rousing rendition of “Zou Bisou Bisou.”

    • Cousin_Rose

Head to toe WERQ worthy. Or at least make it Girl that’s your dress. Looks lovely and eye-catching as she always want to be.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=724916801 facebook-724916801

      Head to toe, love it.

    • http://twitter.com/enuma enuma

What’s with the Forrest Whitaker eye?  Did one of her gays accidentally stab her with an eyeliner pencil?

    • Judy_J

Cute dress!  Nice pedicure…her feet look fabulous.

    • http://twitter.com/chylde chylde

This is such a WERQ I can’t stand it. TLO? She’s a little bit Mad Men Meganish here. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

    • throwaneyeonthis

LOVE the hair.  Very Vidal Sassy-on and paired with the perfect dress to give it a touch of the ’60s mod.

    • DTLAFamilies

Did she have a Botox accident? Because her eyes are cuh-ray-zee.

ETA: Having said that, I love everything else about this look. It’s similar to the Selena Gomez dress from yesterday but for some reason I like this style much better on Anne.

    • valerie saenz

World’s most attractive accessory ~~~> a big genuine smile.

    • ankali

Cute despite the boob-flattening effect. Her hair looks pretty, and I LOVE her pedi!

    • Elizabeth Silverstein

      Dear Annie,
You should cut your hair dear. It was adorable like two months ago. You don’t want “growing out my pixie” hair when you win your Oscar. Your only option here is to go back to the pixie. You cannot get to “chic bob” in a week.
      Kisses,
Bitter Kittens and Precious Unborn Fawns, LLC

      p.s.
Dress and make-up are fab, perhaps a different pair of shoes…

    • Girl_With_a_Pearl

Her outfit is cute, but there is something really odd going on with her eyes.

      • bd73

        rogue eyelid

        • libraangel

          Cleopatra eyeliner

    • libraangel

And the Prix de France metal goes to Princess Cleopatra- er, Anne

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

I cannot WAIT until she gets her bloody Oscar and goes away for a while.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I am seeing a young Barbra Streisand in these photos, which must be an amazing trick of photography & makeup, because she doesn’t look a thing like Babs.  This is awfully cute.

    • MzzPants

I hate to see her go back to long hair.

    • elzatelzabelz

Love! Pretty damn close to a werq.

    • Christy Cricow

So relieved to see that spray tanning is over.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

So pretty!  Just love it except for the eyeliner, and that’s a small complaint.  It’s all gorgeous.

    • quiltrx

Cute dress.  Why is she giving the crazy eye?

    • http://www.facebook.com/NadiyaOsmani Pudgy Possum

perfect, except the shoes don’t seem to fit???

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=603005248 Jeff Warhurst

      Edie Sedgwick.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

What happened to her eyes? How come they’re two different shapes and sizes?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/EUGYOKAAL2HTYHQTEXMJYHHYFU Rebecca

With her toenails painted gold … all I see is toenails.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

She’s darling but for chrissakes it’s February.  It’s even really cold in LA – well, cold for them anyway.  Can’t these people wait on the skimpy clothes for a warmer month?
But I love the way she looks anyway.

    • http://twitter.com/nkk Nikki

The way it’s pulling her chest is weird, she needs a bra- strapless I guess, but it is looking very odd up top.

      other than that, pretty great.

    • ccm800

Sweet Potato that close up is UNflattering

    • librarygrrl64

Looks great, head to toe. Now go away.
