Darlings, let’s all head off to somewhere elegant, comfortable, and flattering.

The Nimb Bar, Denmark

Because we have a feeling we’re all going to need to get falling-down drunk before it’s all over tonight.

Carolyn Murphy, Georgina Chapman, Isaac Mizrahi, guest judges Marherita Missoni and Liv Tyler.

Oh, god. Start drinking now, kittens. What ridiculous justifications and pre-approved sound bites are going to spill forth from the judges’ mouths tonight? Let’s hear your predictions. We’ll start it off:

“Anthony Ryan, why do I love you so much?”

Here’s your chance to call it now, darlings. We’ll the teacher’s pet sail on through to the big prize, or will there be an upset?

Will there be tears? Please tell us there will be tears.

Of course there will be tears. There are always tears.
I think they are gonna stay on the Anthony Ryan Love Train.

    • SRQkitten

The tears may be from us old fans who remember fondly the creativity that used to be PR.

      srq

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

So sadly true. (Tosses back a glass of bubbly)

    • Pennymac

Some of the tears will be mine, as I weep and gnash my teeth, exclaiming “Why, Why, Why do I still watch this shite?”

      • Kathy_Marlow

Because a bad Project Runway is still better than a good rest of the reality television out there?

    • StellaZafella

Anthony may win the prize tonight…

But I’d prefer to BUY Uli’s work…she’s gonna be okay no matter what.

I just hope Emilio doesn’t suffer for being dumped at the alter a second time.

      • http://www.facebook.com/henry.maler Henry Maler

There’s also a clip of Coco Montrese’s entrance, and it’s revealed (officially, as this info was available on the internet but only as a rumor) that she and Alyssa Edwards haven’t spoken in two years. I’m excited to watch that smackdown.

  • carolclark12

If any of the remaining designers sent any of the judges’ outfits down the runway, they would be sent home.  What atrocious clothes.

    • VOLTUPS

Actually, that’s the best Isaac has looked all season!

      • kimmeister

His is the only outfit I like among the bunch.  For shame, ladies!

      • http://thoroughly-me.blogspot.com/ thoroughlyME

I would guess it’s a Missoni suit. Has the zigzags, if not the colors.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

And Caroline is Hilariously over dressed.

      • MoHub

         In Marchesa

      • Alyssa Stanfield

That was my first thought when I saw that picture! Her and the guest judges don’t look like they should be in the same room…let alone standing together!

    • 3boysful

So right.  Altho if CM’s did not have the tulle explosion and instead was a straight skirt, I could like it a lot.  There’s no explanation for the EXQUISITELY BEAUTIFUL Georgina.

Please let the judges straighten up and get on the Uli train.  If I  start drinking now, might that happen?  Un vin rouge, s’il vous plait!

OK, so I thought the bar must be in England, because the head on the wall in the thumbnail looks like one of Henry VIII’s wives!

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

That ostrich she denuded to make that life support float she has around her waist is amazingly awful. If someone as genuinely beautiful as Ms Chapman is looks ridiculous, how will mere mortals fare?

        • StellaZafella

You:  “What ARE you wearing tonight dear?!?”

Me: “Oh it’s the latest thing: Denuded Ostrich by some Deluded Designer…”

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

In this case is the deluded designer Georgina herself?

          • StellaZafella

I say: If the foo shits, smell it, darlings.

Just because you have a brand, doesn’t mean you’re infallible…ask Stella McCartney.

Oh, barman, a Pepto, please…I seem to have let my ‘Bitch’ out for a walk.

      • StellaZafella

You might not be far off…wasn’t one of the Catherines from Denmark? The one he anulled but stayed friendly with?

        • betorah

Katherine of Cleves was from Germany, luckily divorced by Henry, rather than beheaded.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Margaret-Carlson-Nikoleit/100002490979930 Margaret Carlson Nikoleit

Actually she was Anne of Cleves. The Catherines were of Aragon (Spain) and good old England (surnames Howard & Parr). And yes, that coif does appear to be of that period!

          • betorah

You’re right and ai knew that. I mistyped while watching the rerun of Dance Moms. Embarrassing, I know.

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

Is it in Georgina’s contract that she be described as “gorgeous” every time she gets introduced?  I mean, she’s pretty and all, but come on!

    • Call me Bee

Well–Liv is the best of the bunch.  I have a girl crush on her…

    • http://twitter.com/kerryev kerryev

Two of these women are not going to the same event the other two are.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

What is Georgina wearing? That is appalling.

    • http://twitter.com/emilyf007 emily

So true, they would be torn to pieces.

  • BrooklynBomber

I’m in tears already just seeing what Carolyn Murphy and Georgina Chapman are wearing.

    • kimmeister

How much do you want to bet that, during the photographing of the above picture, their dresses got caught on each other and required 3 production assistants to get them untangled?

      • BrooklynBomber

        Oh, I do hope so!

      • Call me Bee

I woulda paid good money to see that…

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I’ve got my credit card to hand. Lets DO THIS!

        • bitchybitchybitchy

That might have made the horror that is PRAllstars 2 TV worth watching…might.

      • muzan-e

If I ever get finished writing this text-based choose-your-own-adventure style game (long story) about navigating your way as a contestant on a reality show (even longer)…

        THAT WILL HAPPEN.

  • H2olovngrl

Uli deserves it, but I think you called it with her being a Bravo holdover.

  • MilaXX

This really should be between Uli & Emilio. I give a slight edge to Emilio because while he has made a few missteps this season, overall I think his work has been a hair stronger than Uli’s. No matter because the show has no subtlety, so AR will win.  I’m home with chills hoping the flu doesn’t catch me. Besides any drinking game I could come up with would have me dead of alcohol poisoning.

    • Violina23

I can’t drink either, but it’s because I’m pregnant.  So you can and I can laugh at all of the drunk people together ;)

Hope you feel better soon!  I’m just waiting for my pre-schooler to get me sick… it’s only a matter of time…. Flu Shot, please work!

    • Call me Bee

Oh–sorry to hear you’re felling punk.  A shot of brandy oughta cures what ails ya…

    • NDC_IPCentral

Feel better, Mila, and keep consuming sensibly, Violina, we other ol’ cats will lap up the booze as your surrogates.  I think the 9-10EST hour will be a non-stop exercise in frustration.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

I’m not watching….I ran out of Merlot(covers face in shame). I’ll have to keep up with TLo’s lounge, and their wrap-up tomorrow.

      • Violina23

Have a Margarita for me! That’s been my biggest forbidden fruit craving… that and some sushi ;)

Would some Girl Scout cookies help?? ***Sending them through the magic of the internet WHOOSH***

          • Violina23

Mmmmm… thin mints. Thank you! :-D

        • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I spent my third with a 9 month long craving for a glass of wine.  It was so bad I couldn’t stand sitting next to anyone who was drinking wine because the smell was so tempting!

    • Winter_White

Fight that flu with all your might (and a good strong drink), MilaXX!  I had it recently, and this year’s version is bad.

Forgot it was PR night; came here because I was hoping to find TLo’s take on Michelle Obama’s new bangs…  :)

      • MilaXX

I seem to keep teetering on the edge of catching it. I get chills & body aches for a few days, but no full blown flu. It’s just enough to be miserable.

        • Winter_White

Aww…sorry about the miserables.  But it sounds like your body is winning so far! Sending good wishes, and hoping little Stormie is doing well too.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

The blessed beauty of virtual drinking is no alcohol and no hangover.

      • formerlyAnon

Also, no calories and a much higher budget!

    • Louise Bryan

Skip the show, and get some extra sleep.  Then refuse to read the posting tomorrow until you’ve watched the video online while lounging in bed and drinking OJ and hot tea with lemon and honey.

  • ChiKat67

I  know we’ve seen the atrocity that Georgina is currently sporting on some celeb (on this site)…anyone?

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

Blake Lively, maybe? It definitely looks familiar.

  • Judy_J

I think the only surprise will be who lands in the #2 spot, since Anthony Ryan appears to have #1 all sewn up.

  • GorgeousThings

    Yawn….

    • Diane Lynch

      I’m with you, Gorgeous.

  • Bethany Fairbrother

I’m still pulling for Uli.  Why is Josh still there?  They are probably giving Anthony Ryan the win because his season’s winner obviously should not have won.  Just like they gave Mondo the win last year.  Previous to the jump to Lifetime, I thought that the winners were, indeed, the winners.  Now it’s so staged.  Anyway, even if Uli doesn’t win, she is known for producing beautiful clothes and will go far, no matter what the outcome.

    • Violina23

If it’s this obvious to us, I can’t imagine the contestants are COMPLETELY unaware of the blatant producer manipulation.  I think Uli’s demonstrated that there’s more to her than flowy, print dresses, and the exposure will only help her.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

I hope that Uli and Emilio both get something out of this, especially Uli, as Emilio does have a successful career as a costume designer.

  • Violina23

    Upset? Surely you jest :)

It’ll be more fun to guess who got robbed. My bet is on Uli. ;)

  • Kate4queen

I’m not sure if I care anymore… I’ve had a stinking cold for 2 weeks, I’m turning 50 on Saturday and I’m off to Hawaii in the morning to celebrate. In my Nyquil-filled dream world, Emilio would win but I’m not holding my breath…

    • http://twitter.com/DarrenNesbitt Darren Nesbitt

      “I’m Fifteh!” – Jodie Foster

      • Kate4queen

yup, me and Jodie both :) but I get to go to Hawaii rather than stand up in front of a big crowd and make a speech. I think I prefer my life despite the fame. :)

        • bitchybitchybitchy

Hawaii sounds far preferable to standing up in front of the Golden Globes and speechifying.

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

Please tell me that this isn’t a two-parter and I can finally stop watching this dreck tonight.  Oh Uli, if it wasn’t for you, I would have called it quits on this crap-fest weeks ago.

    • Violina23

I think you’re safe… the new season of PR “Teams” starts next week.

      • Girl_With_a_Pearl

        Whew!  Thanks Violina23!

  • janierainie

So, any guesses who has the best dress EVER that Isaac is talking about? Gee, Hmmm… I’m just going to take a wild guess ANTHONY? Why Why Why do I care?

I want Uli to win! Just give us SOMETHING we don’t expect!

    • NDC_IPCentral

I haven’t watched the clip, but how can Isaac have the temerity to say ‘EVER’ when Christian Siriano and Chris March made that stunning gown in S4?  Or Jillian’s amazing coat and pants outfit, that might well have been in that team challenge, too?  Or Leanne’s extraordinary finale clothes?

If this is “EVER” in the history of All-Stars only, well, there’s not much “ever” there.

      • Carrieanno

You read my mind pretty much word for word.

      • blondie65

        This!!

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Of course, Siriano, March, Jillian Lewis and Leanne all competed during the Bravo years…..no wonder Ms. Isaac isn’t referring to those designers.

    • Kristin McNamara

Ahh! He just said it. AR’s opening look. If Isaac is really able to say that, I don’t think he’s been watching this show for very long….

  • Lilithcat

I can’t watch the show tonight, or join you in the lounge, because I have a class.

Throw things at the TV for me if AR wins, okay?

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

      Anything for a fellow BK.

    • blondie65

Absofuckinlutely!   I do apologize for cursing so early but I’m already on my 2nd glass of merlot…probably going to finish the bottle to get thru this travesty….go Uli!

    • Call me Bee

      You betcha!

    • Polka_Dotty

I’ll be watching tonight because I have no class.

      • Kristin McNamara

I see what you did there.

    • dschubba

      Can do.

I suspect this bottle will be empty by then…

  • http://twitter.com/DarrenNesbitt Darren Nesbitt

CM is wearing a Marchesa dress from the collection that ripped off of Zuhair Murad!

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

BTW, isn’t the top of the dress that Shmeidi is wearing made of sheer fabric similar to the the kind that Uli used for the dress that she made last week?  The type of fabric that the judges gave Uli such a hard time about and led to that stupid sew-off?

  • Call me Bee

Ah mein goodness we’re in Denmark.  Just watched “Babbette’s Feast” for the umpeenth time a few days ago…

Anyhoo…of course AR will win.  I suspected earlier, as all of you did, but I was hoping in my heart of hearts that it wasn’t true.  But alas–when they kept him after the awful, awful dress he put that poor woman soldier in…I knew it was true.  *sigh*
And it is also true that the only reasons I return are you, our dear Uncles, and all the BKs here.  you all make my Thaursday the Best Day.  Well, you and the extra big crossword puzzle in the paper.  I don’t get out much….

So–Even though I should have an Aquavit or schnapps, or maybe champagne to celebrate the end of this horrendous season, I have chix enchiladas in the oven…so I’ll have a beer.  Dos Equis, por favor.

    • MilaXX

I haven’t watched Babette’s Feast in years. What a great movie.

    • formerlyAnon

Babbette’s Feast! I used to watch it at least annually. Somehow it’s been a couple of years, I think it’s time to put that on the schedule.

  • Trisha26

Whatever we see tonight has got to be better than Carolyn Murphy above being attacked by algae…

  • http://twitter.com/DarrenNesbitt Darren Nesbitt

After looking at the likes and comments on Project Runway’s instagram & twitter it’s definitely true that the producers are feeding the viewers what they want. These people treat AR like he is the Justin Bieber of fashion. It’s rather sad.

    • Call me Bee

Wait a second!  We’re viewers and we do not want this!

    • bitchybitchybitchy

They are the same people who posted on Lifetime’s PR board that they liked Anya “because she’s so pretttttty and niiiice”.

    • Laure G

That is really sad. But I don’t understand how AR could be seen as having the best personality or best designer. It’s clear Uli’s the nicest of the bunch.

  • NDC_IPCentral

SO unmotivated for tonight’s no-surprise-guys-never-in-the-history, oh, uhnhhh, right, we fix this show all the time.  And I have to get up pretty darn early tomorrow morning.   But I’ll watch.  And sneer.  And long for 6 and 7 years ago.  Yes, it’s been that long.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

But I haven’t even watched the last two episodes yet! I guess I’ll just say it now: Congratulations to Anthony Ryan. And a schmauf to Uli and Emilio. :(

How is Schmeidi 2.0 going to sit on a stool with that dress?

  • Joyce VG

Maybe we will be the only ones crying from frustration.  Oh who am I kidding we will see Anthony Ryan’s tears and Uli and/or Emilio will  slap him on the back a few times and golf clap a few times and then Anthony Ryan will be hugged by a boyfriend and someone else from his family. Anthony Ryan will proceed to cup his hands to his mouth and tears will spring forth from his eyes. His head shaking in disbelief. The judges will surround him and pat him on the back as Anthony Ryan exclaims something or other.  And then that will be that. And that will be too much to bear.

  • PhillipWilde

Why is Carolyn wearing an EVENING GOWN to judge a runway show?  She looks ridiculous.

    • formerlyAnon

She wanted little girls everywhere to know that “Everybody can grow up to be a Fairy Princess!”

one else see “Unzipped” with Isaac- he sure has changed since then

    • Lisa_Cop

I saw it and liked him and the movie. Now I have no respect for him. I turned off the TV the moment they announced the winner. That’s it – I’m done with this show.

Lol. You made needs second one considering what we are about to face.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

May I modestly suggest a case in order to view this travesty so that the foreordained crowning of Heinous Poufette will be quickly washed away in a hazy blur?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Pamela-Diaz/1127090694 Pamela Diaz

Today we’ll see the best dress ever in Project Runway (according to Isaac in the first preview)… and obviously is some random dress from AR.

  • guest2visits

I don’t know TLo; this is a slightly uptight lounge. I feel like I’m in the hotel lobby. And who is that STARING at me on the wall?

    • MintaHallWriter

That face on the wall is the Gods of PR ensuring that NO ONE dispute their pre-determined winner of Anthony Ryan. Just in case you didn’t think Big Brother was watching over the judging…

It’ll go better if you have a good stiff drink of anything. Or maybe three or four. Or more.

      • guest2visits

Everyone is forecasting doom.   Even the head on the wall is looking dour.  I can’t seem to find info on the sketch
except it’s inside this amazing looking hotel called ‘Tivoli’ in Copenhagen.

  • pookiesmom

    WTF is Carolyn Murphy wearing?!???

  • http://angryfemur.tumblr.com Andrea Lane

Oh my god. WHAT is Carolyn Murphy wearing?

  • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

I will only accept an Uli win!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=603005248 Jeff Warhurst

Sorry, but Anthony Ryan sucks.  And Carolyn looks RIDICULOUS in that wedding gown.

  • DeTrop

So Kanye is in the work room. Did the producers call in the troops to assist the three finalists?  Can you picture Laura Kathleen, Ivy or Josh lending a helping hand and keeping their opinions to themselves?  I can’t wait.  The Pinot Grigio is chilled and I’m settling in for the fun.

  • http://twitter.com/TigerLaverada TigerLaverada

I kinda lost interest the more tongue baths Anthony Ryan got, so I haven’t watched lately. IMO, the order of talent goes Uli, Emilio, and then a tossup between AR and Joshua — actually, I’d put Joshua a skosh ahead of AR, because occasionally he comes through with something kind of exciting, and I have yet to see AR do so.

So by rights, Uli should win IMO. But I won’t be surprised if Mizrahi’s huge crush on AR carries the day.

    • Lisa_Cop

My husband says Isaac says his lines about AR with disdain, as if to signal this is just some crap a producer made him say.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

And hey, look at the color palette AR’s got on the wall behind him in the pic with Kayne. Does that surprise anyone? Anyone?

  • Qitkat

Well, I see Isaac is ramping up his a$$holeness. I would be thrilled if I could be drinking for real. I’ve been on a special eating regime since Monday, trying out something new, and tonight I realized I’m NOT in a good mood! No caffeine, sugar, alcohol, dairy, soy, eggs, shellfish, bread, grains with gluten. I am seriously craving a grilled cheese sandwich! lol
Vegans/vegetarians out there, throw me some support :-)

Uli for the win! Sigh. Tilting at windmills. But I’m in it to the bitter(kitten) end.

    • blondie65

omg!! What the hell else is left?  I’m in full admiration…gave up most processed carbs almost a year ago and sugar quite some time ago. But  so not strong enough to let go of  caffeine/alcohol/eggs …. oh my…   I will say, the first 2 weeks are the hardest…and the key is finding substitutes that sort of satisfy…

      • Qitkat

How will I join the BK’s here if I have to give up alcohol for good? ;-)
I’m pretty sure I won’t. At least wine once in a while. And eggs, that would be really tough too. I agree, finding substitutes that satisfy me…and my husband, will be critical.

    • zelavie

Sounds like Eat to Live.  I did that for about a week, but I started during the holidays, so it didn’t last.  I did realize that I had a ton of energy, which was awesome.  I need to start again.  I’ve been a vegetarian for 2 years, but I don’t have the healthiest diet most of the time, and it definitely reflects in the way I feel.  Usually when you get past that one week mark, it’s easier!

      • Qitkat

I’ve heard of EtL. Some folks on my challenge are finding a lot of energy, I’m still waiting for that to happen.

    • MilaXX

Daisya is a good cheese sub, it’s made from tapioca and taste pretty good. I know your no bread, but if you cave, ezikiel bread is pretty good. Instead of butter, a good olive oil. I like olave brand

      • Lisa_Cop

Arbequina olive oil from Spain (any brand) is very good.

      • Qitkat

Thanks, I will look for Daisya, not familiar with it. I’ve tried some cheese subs in the past and didn’t care for them. Ezekiel bread I have eaten, and enjoyed. I always keep a good olive oil around, and walnut oil, and flaxseed oil, and sesame oil, and others.

    • formerlyAnon

I can only throw you my stunned admiration, and my hope that either 1) This program brings you perfect health, the vitality of a 25-year-old and the tendency to slip into a blissed-out-reverie OR 2) You discover it is not necessary or even slightly beneficial and can be subsgtantially  modified.

Because really, it sounds very, very challenging.

      • Qitkat

        Thanks. It is definitely challenging.
        #1–don’t I wish!!!
#2–I’ll stick with the 2 weeks and seriously evaluate. There probably will be some permanent changes. I don’t really think I will discover hidden food allergies though. See reply to Alloy Jane above.

    • http://twitter.com/Alloyjane Alloy Jane

Vegan here!  If it makes you feel better, in college, there was a time when I couldn’t eat jack shit because of gastritis and the inability to break down legumes and cruciferous vegetables.  I currently cannot process “white” anything without lots of issues.  But that’s ok, whole grain stuff is where it’s at and raw sugars taste better.

Anywho,I don’t eat most of that stuff you listed and I don’t miss it.  Milk comes from cow tits, eggs come from chicken pussy, and shellfish are trashcan animals.  Keeping all that in mind might make you feel a bit better.

Helpful information:  You can make your own flour by grinding rolled oats in a blender.  If you have a really nice one like a vitamix or a blendtec, you can make your own almond flour.  Pancakes out of almond flour are YUMMY.  Amaranth and millet are gluten free.  Whole rices, such as forbidden black or wild purple thai rice are lots of fun.  There’s even red rice and fifty million varieties of brown, such as brown basmati or brown jasmine.

I would ignore analogues because soy tends to sneak in there a little too frequently for people with sensitivities.  If you don’t mind coconut flavor, coconut oil is a great sub for butter.  They also have refined coconut oil that has the flavor removed, but you have to be careful to buy a brand that is expeller pressed, because otherwise, they process it with chemicals like petroleum or something.  You can use it for cooking/baking, but there are lots of fun oils to choose from. If you like minimal taste, grape seed oil is it.

Avocados.  Eat them.  They’re good for you and delicious.  If you get the gluten free bread, you can make toast and slather coconut oil on it, and then fan some avocado slices with a little bit of salt, black pepper, and maybe some other ground up herb or spice on top.  I sometimes use oregano.  Anything else?

Make sure you’re drinking a ton of water.  You can make tea from well… anything.  Although technically that’s a tisane.  But there are decaffeinated teas and if you get a basic decaffeinated green tea, you can throw in dried fruit to make it fruity.  Rooibos tea is nice too.

So why are you doing this to yourself?  I understand all the other things, but why caffeine?  This question is coming from a hardcore vegan with sugar and caffeine sensitivities, lol.

      • Qitkat

Thanks so much for your extensive reply. Why am I doing this? Well, for a number of reasons. Initially, it is a two week challenge to myself to see if I can actually live some of these concepts I’ve seen other people do. I’ve always had a very traditional American diet, though in the past several years, have very little red meat, and mostly fish and poultry and occasionally tofu. I started eating more legumes and enjoy them. I always hated anytime I tried any of the fake meats. But I love dairy, except I don’t drink much milk, except soy milk.

What I’m doing is called Conscious Cleanse, developed out of Boulder, CO, by two women, who have a website and a book out. The premise is to reduce your diet to the foods that are generally known not to cause any allergies, so that you “cleanse” your body without going the traditional route of cleanses, observe any changes or reactions, then at the end of the two weeks, to slowly add foods back one at a time to see if you have any hidden food allergies. Then make lifestyle changes based on what you have learned.

I also need to find a way, once and for all, to lose a lot of weight, not enough to consider gastric bypass, but way too much for my petite frame of 5’3″. I’ve been frustrated at not being successful, and I have some ongoing health issues. And I was such a skinny kid, never had any weight problems til my forties, I’m in my sixties now.

I love avocados, I would eat them twice a day if I thought it was wise! I’ve tried the coconut oil, and am still learning about using it. I am drinking as much water as I can, around 100 oz a day, which seems massive to me. Love the rices you suggested, and quinoa. It would be shocking to me if I gave up eggs completely, I love them. And shrimp! I use spices extensively. Love tea. Would miss my once or twice a month Starbucks fix of decaf caramel macchiato. Ate too many Christmas cookies, but can’t imagine going without forever.

Enough already, on a fashion blog ;-)

Aaah ok, well I’m sure you’ll find that you feel a million times better, and try not to look at it as punishment. It will make the biggest difference in properly assessing what’s going on with your body.  I suggest you head on over to Chocolate Covered Katie’s blog, she has lots of recipes for healthy and single-serving desserts.  Can you say One Minute Chocolate Cake?  YUM.  Anyhwo, good luck and let us know how it goes :D

  • MintaHallWriter

Of COURSE it’ll go to AR the Teacher’s Pet. Who else?
Not that he’ll deserve it. He’s won 3 times in a row without deserving any of them. Of course he’ll win again this time.
    Bleeecchh…

  • BuffaloBarbara

I don’t think they’ll quit the AR fan club at this point, but wouldn’t it be nice if Uli won?  Or if Emilio turned in a totally awesome collection and beats both of them?  Not happening, though.

  • Stubenville

With supreme confidence, I’m declaring Uli the winner since she deserves it the most. B/M probably have other ideas… of course.

  • NDC_IPCentral

The (probable) insult to our intelligence and taste begins…..

  • Pennymac

    I.    aM.     EXCITED.     that.   Carolyn.    MURPHY.   won’t        be    halting.    through.   MY THURSDAY.      Nights.
    anymore.

  • alula_auburn

It says something that I literally can’t pull up an image of an Anthony Ryan dress from this season in my mind.  So  he’s totally going to win.

  • dschubba

All right. Time to make it official.

    *eyeroll*

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

I might even give this show one more chance if Uli or Emilio wins tonight.  But the fix is in.

  • Pennymac

They are more talented than you too, AR.

    • alula_auburn

They’re “out for blood”. . .in the sense that they won’t immediately roll over so he can win.

  • zelavie

What the HELL is Slow Talker wearing??

    • Pennymac

       a pimple dress…

  • alula_auburn

Swatch looks as disdainful of this season as we are.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

You know, Swatch has probably considered lifting a leg on some of these designers, and then thought better of it.

  • Peeve

Why, why, WHY is Uli going to go with white again? The judges already see her as one-note!

  • BuffaloBarbara

I’m loving Emilio’s thought process. This is what I want more of, PR!  Designers talking about what they’re designing and why!

    • formerlyAnon

YES, oh my lord YES. But I’m sure it’s a fluke.

  • Jasmaree

“Working women in America should be appreciated more” is not a controversial idea, Emilio. Neither is using red, white, and blue.

  • Stubenville

    Ewwww…

  • dschubba

The helper designers have the option to say “no”?

    • Stubenville

Better to say no than to sit there filing his nails. Bitter much Josh?

      • Pennymac

         i was shocked. (Not sarcasm)

    • Call me Bee

Good question.   And Josh refusing just proves what a douche he is.
And Uli chooses Casenova??!?!?!  Wouldn’t you choose someone who can sew up a storm–like Peach?  She can whip out a dress in about 20 minutes.

      • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

I was surprised no one chose Ivy or Peach. They’re both super fast sewers.

        • In_Stitches

Peach’s stuff always looks sloppy; remember the mint green dress with a peplum that sent her home the first time?  And hell, the sheer sleeved cocktail dress that sent her home this time.  It was a good idea, poorly executed.  Casanova’s only issue is taste; his execution is usually flawless.

      • CozyCat

I bet the team pick occurred the day after the on-the-runway challenge.  That was such a mean spirited move to pull on the designers that I’m not surprised Josh was feeling really tired and deflated.  I can’t believe I’m about to say this about Josh, but, it’s actually fairly mature to say “I’m in no condition to help you” under those circumstances.

        • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

AR actually said on Twitter that Josh WAS truly too tired, because they had filmed the previous challenge the day before.  And after going to Paris and back, he’d have been jetlagged and stressed and working on little sleep — I think it’s better he bowed out than agreed to work with AR and then not be able to complete the work.

  • MilaXX

Love that print Emilio has. Wish it made a difference in the outcome.

  • guest2visits

Please…. a time limit to find fabric even… qweesy.

    • NDC_IPCentral

And crappy.  I have to give all three finalists credit – they must have been horrifyingly exhausted.  Making decisions, thinking, re-thinking, then trying to cut, sew, fit and not on much sleep.  A wonder they didn’t run the sewing machine needle through their fingers.  More than once.

      • guest2visits

I could spit.  That’s as nice as I can say it. After all the hype; the largest prize and all… senseless.

  • SouthernGirlRena

Is anyone else seeing the Elie Tahari episode?  What is the world!  The Info screen says the finale is supposed to be on.

    • Stubenville

      Finale here.

      • SouthernGirlRena

Thanks Stubenville.  I think it says a lot about this season that after about 2 minutes I am now only mildly annoyed. There is no way I am stayng up until midnight to catch the next showing.  I’ll sign off here and watch it online tomorrow. That way I can act surprised when AR wins.

        • Stubenville

Uli and Emilio are putting up a good fight from the workroom pictures.

      • Lisa_Cop

Finale here although I missed first 20 minutes. “Missed” what am I saying??

  • Jasmaree

    AR is fan favorite?

  • Polka_Dotty

YOU voted Anthony Ryan Fan Favorite?

    Not I, Bitter Kittens.

    • SRQkitten

The vote count musta been done in FL

      srq

      • alula_auburn

Isaac may have voted twice.  Or ten million times.

      • blondie65

Hey….we’ll take the blame for the 2000 election, BUT NOT THIS!!!

        • CozyCat

Maybe the Supreme Court intervened again.

    • dschubba

      I know, right?

“Don’t you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!”

  • Peeve

Great. They just announced that AR won the “fan favorite” on Lifetime. Really??? That’ll just give them more incentive to declare him the winner, won’t it?

    • Pennymac

Who the heck voted for him? (Visualizing Isaac in front of a computer late at night, refreshing and resubmitting over and over)

      • Peeve

         What you said! Ha!!!

  • Jasmaree

“To me sewing is like sex.”

You get lazy and unmotivated half way though and decide to take a nap instead?

    • alula_auburn

LOL, not a great advertisement!  Especially after Uli comparing him to a toddler.

  • Stubenville

That yellow and gray dress is ugly.

  • Stubenville

Time for a twist to save AR’s ass?

  • Stubenville

Oh Uli – I hope you fill your suitcase, hon!

  • alula_auburn

Ugh, I have such little sympathy when designers say things like “Either I win or I just don’t do this anymore.”

    Uli is seriously so delightful.

  • Jasmaree

“I’m looking for a sexy nursing bra.”

    Well…there’s a first.

    • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Not at all a first — most nursing mothers would love something that wasn’t as awful as most of them.  But I don’t think she’ll have any luck, I’m pretty sure they don’t make them.

  • Stubenville

    WTF is Schmedi wearing?

    • Polka_Dotty

      TLo says, Marchesa Fall 2012

  • alula_auburn

Carolyn Murphy looks like she’s covered with algae or something.  Scrap her off and throw her back.

  • Pennymac

Wow. Carolyns dress is excruciatingly  fug.

  • Stubenville

and    one   of  the   most   famous…  Spit it out, girl!

  • Jasmaree

Four days for an 8 piece collection. This is gonna be pretty bad.

  • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

God, Carolyn Murphy looks freaking ridiculous.

Also, that one grey streak in Isaac’s hair makes him look like Sweeney Todd.

    • dschubba

      Only less rational?

      • l_c_ann

        Less rational AND less likeable.

  • MilaXX

did they ever find the plane the Missoni guy was in?

    • Stubenville

      Don’t think so.

  • MintaHallWriter

wow. I thought Emilio’s inspiration was kinda dumb, but this collection is gorgeous.

    • Jasmaree

Really? I thought it might have gone somewhere with the inspiration, but the pieces were lacking.

  • Stubenville

    Hate the lunchbox purses.

  • alula_auburn

so instead of blinding us with strobe lights, they’re just making it impossible to see with stupid camera angles.  ace.

Is it petty that I hate it when people say “females” instead of “women”?

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

No, that irks me too. It’s so dehumanizing.

    • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Tess Danesi

I hate that as well. As Cassie said, I also find it dehumanizing.

  • NDC_IPCentral

Holy Eye Sear!!  Man, don’t the judges look overdressed and astigmatism-freakily over-patterned.

    Yeah, taste?

And the Missoni girl, after the plane crash in Venezuela — that’s an unfortunate appearance.

Typically terrible camera work. – couldn’t see Emilio’s outfits at all.  What a shame.

  • Pennymac

    I really liked Emilios.

  • MintaHallWriter

Okay Anthony Ryan.  The thin line. Dumb name again.  But…These dresses are all alike except for color. Too much all the same. Boring collection. Emilio’s was better.  How many horizontal color-blocked dresses can anyone look at before *yawn*

  • Stubenville

    Meh.

  • Pennymac

AR: All the same but different colors???

    • Lisa_Cop

      What you said,exactly.

  • Jasmaree

ARs collection is decent, but a little too samey for me. Also, was there something going with the hem of that last dress?

  • alula_auburn

Did AR just give a special flirty wave to Isaac?

    Meh.

  • dschubba

Uli’s bringing that Tilda Swinton realness.

    • alula_auburn

Tilda Swinton was exactly who I thought of.

    • Frank_821

we were thinking the same thing. this should have been called the Swinton Dream

      • Lisa_Cop

The eye make-up reminds me of the Alexander McQueen collection where the models were chess pieces on a chess board.

    • In_Stitches

Tilda Swinton as the white witch of Narnia.  The makeup and music really helped set the tone-it was one instance where eccentric, unconventional make-up really helped set the mood and sell the idea.  Loved it.

  • MintaHallWriter

Uli…like the separates. Pants, tops, jackets, dresses. Gorgeous. Like Emilio, a nice mixture that evening dress is gorgeous!

  • Peeve

    Uli’s dresses are gorgeous!!

  • NDC_IPCentral

ULI FTW – by var the bet and most “fashion-y” of all three.  That was expensive and elegant.

    • Polka_Dotty

So much more impressive than last season’s Runway Finale, where they had 5 weeks!

    • Lisa_Cop

My husband, glancing up from his e-mails, said her collection like a Parisian collection.

  • Stubenville

Mondo looks so different without glasses.

  • alula_auburn

Uli’s is a lot stronger and steelier than I thought from “winter wonderland.”

    • Stubenville

And thank goodness she didn’t stay with ivory.

      • Peeve

         Absolutely. She had me scared!

  • guest2visits

As soon as her second look comes out; I already think Uli has put on a better show.

  • MintaHallWriter

Wow. AR just HAS to be on the bottom.

I’d be happy with either Emilio or Uli as a win–they both out-did Anthony Ryan. But my fave is Uli.

    Go, Uli!

  • BuffaloBarbara

Hmm.  I liked Emilio’s best in terms of story, though, with 4 days time, it’s no wonder none of them knocked my socks off.  I can’t imagine which of those things is “the best dress” Isaac has ever seen on PR.

  • Pennymac

Oh, Uli. I DESPISE your styling. I felt like I was having a bad acid trip with the models faces and that music.

  • Jasmaree

Uli’s is probably the best here. They were all different pieces but had a definite cohesiveness, and I think she expressed a point of view better than the other two. AR was too samey and Emilio got stuck in the conceptual trap, like Austin last season.

  • BobStPaul

Emilio’s was extremely disappointing.  Anthony Ryan’s was kind of cool but basically the same dress over and over.  Uli’s was pretty amazing.  It will be interesting to see how the judges justify any collection but Uli’s winning.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3JSTXMWWVZN2QNP2UEKJMTWD7U Isabel

Missoni and Tyler – keeping the serious faces -

  • CozyCat

I thought that both Emilio and AR did a pretty good job given that they only had 4 days.  Which you like better is a matter of personal taste.

But Uli’s collection did not look like a four-day collecction–it looked like a real collection.

Of course, the judges are going to find something wrong with it.

  • MintaHallWriter

If AR gets the “best I’ve ever seen on PR” then we know the judges didn’t even look at Emilio’s or Uli’s.

    • carolclark12

       And he did

  • DeTrop

Uli for the win.  She had a lovely collection.  Feminine and fierce.  Emilio’s was strong but didn’t excite me and AR’s was too repetitive.  Here comes the judging.

  • NDC_IPCentral

Uli’s music and different pacing for her models was a very welcome contrast to the in-your-faceness of both AR’s and Emilio’s presentation.

    • Qitkat

I truly loved everything about her collection. I’m rarely surprised at any of the runways, and hers made me believe in the promise we once felt, anticipation living up to the reality. As you said, her music, the slower walking pace, the unusual styling which read *established designer with unique point-of-view*, combined to create a memorable show.  The clothes were magical and very very special. Hard to believe she pulled off so much work in such a short time. I really really hope there is someone out there who can invest in her and keep her dream alive.

  • notdorothygale

Just entered the lounge so missed out on all the cleverness and snark. A glass of Sebastiani raised to Uli, please!

  • alula_auburn

Why does Liv Tyler still sound like a teenager?

    • CozyCat

      Well, like father, like daughter.

  • MintaHallWriter

Okay…AR’s tongue licking is about to commence

  • Stubenville

Okay, time for the crack pipe.

  • MintaHallWriter

Oh, please. AR did get “best dress ever”.  Seriously????

    SERIOUSLY???

    • DeTrop

How insulting.  Pull yourself together Isaac.

  • dschubba

I love Emilio’s trench. It’s a better take on graffiti than his ESOSA print.

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

Well, just about everything is a better take on graffiti than that.

  • carolclark12

Did Isaac just say, “It blows my …… mind” about AR’s first dress?

  • notdorothygale

“The best dress I’ve ever seen on Project Runway”. Have you had blinders on, Isaac?

    • CozyCat

Better than Laura’s Grey and Chartreuse gown?  Better than Siriano and March’s avante guarde look?  Better than the Chrysler Builing dress?  Siraiano’s final collection runway gown?

    • Lisa_Cop

Isaac is simply reading lines given to him, I think.

  • NDC_IPCentral

Isaac, YOU TOOL.  That first dress is NO BIG DEAL.

  • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

I seriously can’t believe that the judges would honestly think that Anthony Ryan’s is the best of the lot. I really just can’t believe that.

  • alyce1213

THE BEST DRESS I’VE EVER SEEN ON PROJECT RUNWAY.
    ???????????
    That’s it.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Isaac, you are so,so, bad at selling this shite that B-M and Lifetime are pushing.

    • BuffaloBarbara

I know!  I literally could not imagine which dress they were talking about.  I was sure it was referring to AR because it was Isaac saying it and the fix was in, but I stared at the collection trying to figure it out.  I still don’t get it.  It’s a little color blocked dress that Mila’s done better.

  • Stubenville

    Of course.

  • nosniveling

god it blows but not my mind

  • dschubba

Which look did they just claim was the best ever?

    • alyce1213

      AR’s first dress.

  • Peeve

Let the tongue baths begin! The best dress I’ve ever seen–really, Isaac?

    • In_Stitches

that square swath of lower back wasn’t flattering.  It’s lazy construction.

  • alula_auburn

WAT.  How is that the best dress in PR history?  HOW?  WAT?

In his stupid blue monochrome outfit, I think they look like a cartoon sci-fi cast.  Much more faux-Roddenberry than “mod-Mondrian.”

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=513178098 Hannah Shule Katz

So, Isaac is just throwing out all pretense of objectivity, isn’t he? “That’s the best dress I’ve ever seen in PR history!” Uh…

    • Call me Bee

Yeah no kidding.  We all know who’s getting the payola…

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

The best dress Izaak has ever seen on PR.  Give me a break!

    • SRQkitten

The noise you hear is bitter kittens coast to coast gagging.

      srq

      • NDC_IPCentral

I did yell at the TV, too.

        • Qitkat

Yeah, I was quite vocal myself this episode. Best that I was alone.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

        Word.

    • DeTrop

Isaac Miserable is using this show like his own Dating Game —  Let me see which sister I like and then I’ll guide my co-judges accordingly. Yum, yum, yummy. This is fun. I can do this forever.

  • Polka_Dotty

Uh-oh, the guest judges are not following the script!

    • DeTrop

They turn them around eventually, off camera.  They always do.

  • notdorothygale

Yes, darling, faux furs DO look inexpensive. It costs a lot to process actual animal pelts.

    • Stubenville

And they had about $400 a model, Georgina…

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

Uli should win.  Emilio second.  So AR will win.  (Hope I’m wrong about AR.)

  • wawawah

I hope GC has the oportunity to spit on Issac Mizrahiable before the seasons over! He is such an ASS!

    • DeTrop

Are you kidding? She falls right in line with Isaac Miserable. He has led them all around by the nose and he should be aufed the show for good.  He is a character now, not a designer.  His days in the sun are over.

  • MilaXX

In a perfect world, Uli, Emiilio, AR

  • dschubba

My heart’s gonna break for Uli (again) if they pass her over (again).

  • Stubenville

Pockets! Brilliant! Would you have a quickie with me in in the broom closet AR?

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

      POCKETS!

      They’re FRESH! They’re NEW! GENIUS!!!

      • DeTrop

        Stubenville, Cassie, pull yourselves together.

One should never underestimate the power of a well-placed pocket.  lmao

  • notdorothygale

Carolyn SO has the hots for Anthony Ryan.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

But AR’s not playing for the same team as Carolyn, I think.

  • dschubba

Uli’s looks like a student collection? Ugh.

  • MintaHallWriter

Uli is “looks I’ve seen before” and Antony Ryan’s WASN’T?????

    • Stubenville

      See Kline, Calvin.

  • Peeve

Good Christ–Uli’s looked like a “student collection”? Are you shitting me?

  • notdorothygale

I do hope Carolyn never comes back. The woman sets my teeth on edge.

  • MintaHallWriter

Yeah. They’re going to dump Emilio first. Then give it to AR.

    • dschubba

       Yeah. :(

    • notdorothygale

My heart breaks at the very thought.

    • CozyCat

And Uli’s heart will break one more time….

  • DeTrop

Marchessa and Isaac are talking too much and going back and forth.  Listen to Ms. Missoni.  She used magical in her critique of Uli.  There was no magic in Emilio’s and AR’s collections.  Her collection was the best imnsho.

  • alyce1213

By the way, Carolyn Murphy and Georgina Chapman both look like a couple of horses’ asses in their Marchesas — hiddy.

  • Call me Bee

Oh please oh please oh please make Uli the winner.

  • blondie65

Wow…I get why Mondo responded to Emilios, and I did as well.  I get his point of view and he should be very proud.  Gorgeous.   But, Uli’s collection was … no words.   Loved it…so far from her south Florida S3 collection, as gorgeous as that was.  She has totally proven herself to be on trend, talented, as well as  SWEET and versatile.

  • Peeve

    I hate this fucking show…

  • dschubba

    Fuck that

  • Stubenville

    Pack of asses.

  • Pennymac

    See? Gnashing teeth!!!!!

  • notdorothygale

    WHATWHATWHAT????????????? Second runner up?????????????? F U P R!!!

  • alyce1213

    BATSHIT CRAZY!  Third???

  • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

    ULI FIRST TO GO?

Are. You. Serious. With. This. Shit.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

I am so glad I didn’t watch this.  I think I’m done with PR. B-M and Lifetime have ruined a once genuinely entertaining and creative show.  RIP.

  • DeTrop

I’m now sick.  The fix was really on.

  • NDC_IPCentral

Uli is number 3???  For the loveamike.  That is shameful.

  • Tigerfly

    TRAVESTY!

  • Stubenville

    Of course.

  • alula_auburn

    What. The. Fuck.

    Isaac’s shit-faced smirk is ridiculous.

  • Stubenville

    What utter bullshit.

  • Frank_821

    This is such utter shit

    • Lisa_Cop

I promptly turned off the TV at this point.

  • http://www.facebook.com/nancy.wardle Nancy Wardle

    Oh, QUELLE SURPRISE.

  • NDC_IPCentral

    Of course.  What a travesty.

  • Jasmaree

    Yeah, no surprises there.

  • Pennymac

    • Kristin McNamara

And yet, ridiculously, notevenclose to non-believable. Stupid Lifetime.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! EMILIO WAS ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *cries*

    • http://www.facebook.com/nancy.wardle Nancy Wardle

WE were robbed, of weeks we could have been doing something more worthwhile.

      • Laure G

You’re right. Such a fucking waste of time. I quit this show. I’m not watching the groups bullcrap next season. Yay for gimmicks!! :D :D :D What will be the new gimmick after what, I’m sure, will be a wonderfully fashionable show? The winner of that week gets to eat the loser of that week. Whoever gains the most weight wins. Fuck your clothes.

  • GenieinTX

Well that is complete bullshit!  How in the world can they justify Uli #3?  Her collection was miles above the other 2

    • Kristin McNamara

Bravo =/= Lifetime. I think TLo hit the nail on the head a few weeks ago when they said that her Bravo alum status would keep her from ever winning.

ETA: That was supposed to be a “not equal to” sign. A ghetto one, but a not-equals nonetheless.

So they’re doing them in reverse order…what Jerques. Big surprise.

After seeing those 3 collections, there is NO LEGITIMATE WAY he could have won.

Fixed from day one. “so impeccable” (except of course that last dress–the ONLY one out of all 3 collections where the construction was questioned).

Good-bye Project Runway.  It was fun…until you moved to Lifetime.

    Of course.

This was a true insult to the viewers.

    • Kristin McNamara

Except AR won fan favorite too! (I know, my jaw dropped too). But apparently not enough BKs voted, and the rest of America is just as smitten with AR as the judges were…

well there you go…guess we should be glad a  Bravo contestant got that far ….they  probably really wanted Josh in that spot.  Whatthefuckever.  More merlot please.

    • Monkey Toe

I know! I may give up PR just from exhaustion–I might as well be watching Days of Our Lives.

    • NDC_IPCentral

Tom, Lorenzo, I really think that Lifetime and Bunim-Murray have dished out an insupportable insult to a goodly portion of the viewers of this show.  The fix was clear a mile away, and you and we all were glumly predicting it, but consigning Uli to “last,” third place is indefensible.  Her four days’ work is full of complexity and variety – dresses, gowns, jackets, pants – while still having that elusive “cohesive” quality.  And the color palette was arresting and rich.  It was clearly a collection, and it really looked to me, in presentation and execution, to be the most professionally runway, Big Time Fashion Show ready.

This really drives away viewers with brains who want to see genuine creativity and vision rewarded with a big SCAT – we don’t need your kind.  We’re not sheep; we’re discerning and don’t like to be conned when there was supposed to be a genuine contest – not an engineered outcome, especially when the contestants’ output cannot support the manufactured conclusion.

      • Frank_821

Isn’t amazing how Elie Tahari himself stated basically the same thing about Uli’s collection. He stated right into the camera it could have been on ANY runway in the world!

      • Qitkat

        So well put.

      • http://twitter.com/AShinyOConnor A Shiny O’Connor

I was actually bored by look three of Anthony Ryan’s collection. Some of it looked like Kardashian for Sears. Uli got robbed.

    • blondie65

un-fucking-believable…I say that even though we all  knew AR’s win was coming.  And he’s talented…far more than Anya on his season!!! But damn…to see those 3 collections walk & still  see his win over Uli or Emilio … well just confirms the suits (and not the good kind!) are definitely in charge…

    • l_c_ann

Uli took $3000 worth of fabric and made it worth a lot more.
Anthony Ryan took $3000 worth of fabric and turned it into $300 after markup, but more likely to appear at H&M for a week or two.

    • PaulaBerman

My jaw hit the floor when they said she was second runner up. I thought for sure it would be Emilio. How could they deride her for using cheap looking fake fur. Did they not notice that Anthony Ryan’s collection was the same dress over and over? Who would buy more than one of that? Whereas both Emilio and Uli made collections that you would want multiple pieces from. What a shame this show has turned into this. But I have been trying to quit watching since the Gretchen debacle, and here I still am. Project Runway, I wish I knew how to quit you.

    • Lisa_Cop

It was miles above the others. Didn’t the judges bother to even read the scripts beforehand and tweak who came in last?

  • http://twitter.com/otterbird otterbird

    Le sigh.

  • notdorothygale

We should have known this would happen. They’ve been kissing his skinny butt for weeks for absolutely no reason. “Crazy ass times”, AR says. Yes, that could describe the sad demise of a once excellent franchise.

  • BobStPaul

What an utter disgrace.  I kept thinking they couldn’t possibly deny Uli after that effort and then she’s declared second runner-up?  It wasn’t even close.  I can’t believe we put ourselves through this bullshit.

Yeah, but this time I’m actually going to delete the show from my DVR to-record list. I’m just… This is exhausting and stupid.

  • Frank_821

I’m sorry. AR is a decent guy, but this is without a doubt the biggest travesty I’ve seen  on the show. I’ve never seen such underserved praise of any contestant-that includes Anya!

Sorry AR, you better pray Isaac will be your sponsor, becuase there’s no way the fashion community will take you seriously from this “win”

at least Uli was as classy as ever. Emilio showed restraint too

    • GenieinTX

As bad as this is, there will never be a bigger PR travesty than Anya

      • Girl_With_a_Pearl

But this is a close second.

      • Frank_821

I feel the AR win is a bigger travesty simply because I felt there was a bigger bullshit quotient with his overpraising. At least with Anya they did call her out at least a couple of times on her plunging necklines and they didn’t pile win after win upon from challenges.

AR is a more able and talented designer than Anya for sure but I felt like he coasted most of the season. I recall Anya at least managed to push herself on a couple of times in terms of design and I was pleasantly surprised on those occasions

    • Call me Bee

Actually–I think AR should PAY Isaac for whoring for him all season.

I’m awaiting news of the new model show “The Face” which will have Naomi Campbell as host (and is on Oprah’s network).

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

A bunch of dresses, most of them the same but in different colors (big deal) vs. Uli’s and Emilio’s multiple pieces and thoughtful collections.  Bullshit!!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/nancy.wardle Nancy Wardle

It’s got to be the Anya effect.

  • NDC_IPCentral

Lifetime has sure put the bitter in Bitter Kittens.

  • BuffaloBarbara

I liked Uli’s and Emilio’s collections, and ultimately between them, I thought it was a matter of taste–they were just so different. As it happened, I liked Emilio’s better on an emotional, gut reaction level, so I’d have gone with Emilio.  With Uli second only on that pure gut level.

I can’t very well work up shocked and indignant outrage, though.  We’ve known this was the plan for a LONG time.

    • Girl_With_a_Pearl

We did.  Knew if for weeks.  Any yet I’m still mad.  Mostly because they ruined a really fun show!

      • BuffaloBarbara

I know.  I keep hoping they’ll get it to straighten out and fly straight.  (I mean, all of the BKs and TLo themselves keep giving them helpful advice, which they just ignore.)  But they’ve been so off their game for the last few seasons, and now they’re going with this team thing… I’m too tired of it to be angry.

        • bitchybitchybitchy

Sadly for the BK’s and PUF’s, I think that Lifetime has the show that they want-lots of hyped drama, a group of people with fair to middling design ability, but most of all, big, puppy-dog eyes and poignant life stories that B-M and Lifetime can sell to an audience that just wants to see the nice/cute/plucky guy/gal win it all, and some clothes that are saleable and safe.

    • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I liked Emilio’s better too.  And I liked AR’s a lot — but it wasn’t a fashion collection, it was a rack at a department store.

Hey, remember in Emilio’s first season?  When making “commercial” collections got you auf’d?  Yeah, good times…

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Remember NInaGarcia telling Emilio on the reunion show that he created a “line”, not a collection?  Now one decent commercial idea (and a great sob story) gets you the big prize.

      • BuffaloBarbara

I think my favorite part of the commentary on it was how it was the most “fashion” of the collections, like somehow that department store stuff was less commercial and more artistic.  Er, no.  That would be Uli’s.  And the one that makes a statement, that would be Emilio’s.

And yeah, AR’s was pretty.  I’d probably wear some of the pieces to work if I could afford them.  That bold color blocking makes for an impact behind the ref desk or at a meeting.   Sure.  It’s all very saleable and unoffensive, moreso than Uli’s feathers or Emilio’s bold prints and giant shapes.  But “more fashion”?  More artsy?  What the…?

        • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I would buy the yellow and gray dress in a heartbeat, it’s a really cute dress.  In fact, most of his collection could be summed up as a “I’d wear that” collection.

That’s the problem with the show.  I don’t think the producers are basing their storyline on the personality or the drama.  I think it is, in fact, based on the clothes.

But while it used to be about “Fashion”, now it’s about UNDERSTANDABLE fashion.  Color-blocking has filtered downmarket to the point that your average consumer is hearing how it’s big and has put it in their wardrobes.  So when AR sends down a colorblocked collection, it looks to the producers like something that will inspire “I would wear that” in the audience.

If you look at the winning collections from S9 on, they are all very relatable clothes, the kind of thing that viewers could actually buy at their local mall.  That’s what the producers want — they look at something like Fabio’s collection and think that viewers won’t understand it.

          • BuffaloBarbara

I don’t know – not many people can get away with Anya’s low-cut caftans.  Not that I thought they were particularly artsy, either.  I’m just not sure how “relate-able” they are.

But I do see what you mean.  Gretchen had a lot of comfy looking casual wear.  Dmitry has spiffy party looks.  AR’s would fly off the rack as power looks for women in the workplace.

I guess I think that if they spent more time during the season talking about clothes and fashion and the design process, then more fashion would be understandable to more people by the time of the finale.  Especially in the regular run, where they have 90 minutes to play with, would it be so hard for people who make a living in this industry to talk about the underlying artistic philosophy from time to time?  I’m a writer, and I can talk you to death about technique.  I don’t even think the best technique is particularly inaccessible, or that inaccessible prose is automatically artistically superior. (And I think a lot of readers fail to access even the simple stuff, but that’s a different matter.)  Would five minutes during the introduction of a challenge be too much to devote to talking about how fashion works?

I really loved Fabio’s collection.  It wasn’t for everyone, sure, and Uli’s wasn’t for everyone tonight.  But there’s the art of the thing, and I’d like to know more about that.  I can say “I’d wear that” or “I wouldn’t wear that” just like I can look at a piece in a museum and say, “I’d put that in my house” or “I wouldn’t put that in my house.”  But if I’m going to tune into a show judged by prominent artists and critics, I would hope I’d come out of it with a little more knowledge of why one piece of art is good and another… not so much.

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

You’re right on the necklines for Anya’s work, but the flow and drape seem so wearable — they aren’t, btw, they just look like it.  And women could see themselves wearing that relaxed maxi-dress look.  Especially because retailers have been trying to sell us on that length for several years now.

And I’d love to see them talk more about WHY they are making the choices they make.

          • BuffaloBarbara

Oh.  I’ve always wondered why the retailers keep pushing it.  Are they really having any luck with it?  I guess I don’t find it all that relate-able in the stores, either.  Then again, I haven’t seen much relate-able in the stores for years.

That’s my secret reasoning for wanting them to teach people to understand things. So that people will like and buy different things and I won’t have to look at the same depressing stuff in the sale bins.

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Yeah, they actually sell a lot of them.  The idea seems to be that the flowy nature of them will hide hips, ass, and thigh (it doesn’t) and you can cover your legs, and that it will somehow make you look taller (really really doesn’t).  And I personally have friends who like them because they’re as cool in the summer as shorts but you don’t have to shave as often ;P

If your only exposure to fashion is what you see in the stores you shop in, you’re going to think things like AR’s collection SHOULD win.

          • BuffaloBarbara

Wow.  I’m way more interested in this conversation than I was in the whole finale.  I’ve always wondered what the thought was on those.  For summer shaving avoidance, I find capris comfy.

I avoid things that cover my legs because they make me look shorter, like I’m melting. (Cue Wicked Witch voice.)  I was annoyed at having to wear ankle length pants in the cold this week, and routinely wear skirts that hit around the knee.  Sometimes a bit below if I’m going to sit in front of a crowd, which is pretty frequent.  I felt stumpy beyond belief, and freakishly long-waisted.  And there is not enough material in the world to cover up my  huge ass.  I’d rather not wear a pup tent on it on top of it.

My exposure to fashion is here, PR, and the shops I shop in.  I guess T and Lo have had a huge influence on me!

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I have the same problem with them — they make short legs look shorter.  And if you’re curvy, they make you look squat because they mask your waist while making you look shorter.  I’ve only ever found one that worked on me, and it IS really comfortable.

It’s also why the winning collections look so much worse to us BKs than to readers of other sites.  The producers are choosing collections that are focused on trends that have already trickled down.  So while Mila’s colorblocking was shown at a time that colorblocking was already showing up on runways, it wasn’t a winner for producers because it hadn’t filtered downmarket yet.

          • BuffaloBarbara

I’d really like some better clothes to filter downmarket faster, so I can buy them. ;p

When I first tuned in to PR and started reading this site, I was so excited, because all of this was entirely new to me.  I never had the slightest interest in the subject of clothes, and now I have actual opinions and preferences, though they’re still on the lowbrow side of things.  It was like learning a whole new field of art, mixed with the interesting little brain puzzles that the challenges provided.  (I’m no art history major, but I spent a lot of my childhood tromping around the Albright-Knox gallery in Buffalo, and I developed a taste for the stuff.)  I just feel like we’re seeing so little of it now on the show.

          • demidaemon

I do wonder if someone like Jay (Season 1) or Christian (Season 4) or Leanne (Season 5) could win now.

That said, Uli was robbed. However, I think the bigger travesty is her 3rd place than the fact that she didn’t win. I was hoping against all hope, and, even though I knew the fix was in, I hoped that, like Mondo last year, AR would have the best collection so I could at least agree with the judges. That…didn’t happen, sadly. Uli and AR should have reversed places.

And we tend to blame a lot on Lifetime, but I think it’s less them and more Bunim-Murray. Let’s remember their claim to fame before PR: Real World. Think about that for a second.

I’m not going to make claims like everyone else here, of quitting the show: first of all, this was All-Stars. It’s not the regular show, and operates in some wonky perverted version of the show. Second, it would be BS on my part. Third, I hope that the Kluminator’s prominent role on that show (as a producer; yes, I know it’s stretching) will temper some of BM’s bad impulses.

We’ll see. I’m a diehard fan, despite their mistakes.

          • formerlyAnon

No one whose look was heavy on time-consuming detail or construction (see all or most of above-mentioned winners) could win now, because not only are there few or no two-day challenges during the regular season, the time to put together a final collection has shrunk from months to ever fewer weeks.

          • MoHub

“I would buy the yellow and gray dress in a heartbeat … .”

That was the only thing in AR’s collection that caught my eye at all—and then I saw the back, and he totally lost me. Just what was the deal with every dress of his having a cutout back?

Uli and Emilio were robbed. In my little world, Emilio would have won, with Uli a very close second, and AR wouldn’t even have been in the finale.

However, everything panned out as I’d predicted early in the season, so I’m feeling positively psychic.

  • stellamaris73

Just killed PR in all its varieties from my dvr, too.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

B-M and Lifetime had a ready made audience for this show when it moved from Bravo, and they have done more than their level best to turn PR into just another piece of reality cheese. Au revoir.

  • ThaliaMenninger

So should PR All Stars really be called Quantum Leapway, since it’s all about “putting right what once went wrong” and making sure somebody they liked who didn’t win before now gets a win no matter how much manipulation and WTFery it takes?

    • Jasmaree

That seems to be the function of PR All Stars. Daniel V., Mondo, and AR were all set to win even before we saw the collections.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Silly me-when I saw the cast for this editon of AllStars I actually thought that Emilio, Uli and Althea would be winners.  I honestly thought that AR was just cannon fodder.

  • dschubba

All the goodwill they built up by not giving last season’s win to Christopher has been thrown out the window, booed, and then peed on.

    • Call me Bee

I don’t even remember who won or who Christopher is…and yet I remember season 1-5 very well!  That’s telling.

      • Call me Bee

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

Of course, someone ELSE was robbed that season, so we can’t be TOO hopeful for B/M.

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I can see the case for Dmitry over Fabio, though.

        • bitchybitchybitchy

I recently saw the issue of Marie Claire that features looks from Dmitry’s collection. I liked the way that Marie Claire’s people styled them.

      • BuffaloBarbara

Well, the fact that they keep pinning one season onto the next doesn’t help it seem very important who’s playing or winning.  It’s kind of a reflection of the change in the opening credits from the contestants to the judges mouthing off — it’s no longer about the designers.  It’s about celebrity judges, and whatever mind-altering substances they are taking in a given week.

  • Excellence_and_Elegance

After Anya, I stopped making the effort to catch PR and decided it was best to just read the TLo recaps.
After Anthony Ryan, I have now stopped caring altogether.

I will probably continue reading the recaps here, but this “reality” franchise has finally killed my interest.

Is it any coincidence that Bunim/Murray and bowel movement share the same abbreviation?

  • In_Stitches

Well that’s some bullshit.  Anthony Ryan showed one idea.  It’s a great, commercial idea, but it’s ONE idea that bored the F out of me after seven looks.

Emilio sh!t the bed again…he can’t seem to make an exciting stream of looks…they’re cohesive, but he sacrifices the wow factor that he brings to his single challenge looks to make them conform.

    Uli was robbed.

  • Stubenville

It could have been worse – Josh could have won.

    • EveEve

We’ve known from almost the beginning who was going to win…and it wasn’t Josh.

    • l_c_ann

Josh, OTOH, gave us a moment of honesty tonight, which was one of the few honest things tonight.  He said his feelings were too raw to help AR.  He had been aufed the previous day.

And the much repeated three month duration of the filming was not the biggest lie we heard tonight, although God knows, we heard it so often we might just have a hint that it was scripted. /snark

      • Kristin McNamara

I was wondering why he even agreed to come back in the room and stand there for that then. Surely he knew the lot of them were to be picked over and used for labor. Why wouldn’t he have given that speech to someone BEFORE coming back in, and avoid having to awkwardly give that speech TO Anthony Ryan?

        • Frank_821

          contractual obligation

      • ccinnc

Josh’s anguish was awful to see. I felt terrible for him.

  • Damien W

It’s just silly at this point. And sad. I can understand that All-Stars is basically scripted, but to give Uli third place is really arrogant on their part. “Not only were you never going to win no matter how great your work is, but we’re not even going to give you Runner-Up, just to make sure the audience forgets that the Bravo years ever existed!”

Both seasons of All-Stars have been badly written sitcoms masquerading as a reality show. And now…”Teams”? This thing is so dead.

  • LeBarron

Complete and utter bullshit.  Third?  THIRD?!  Just… There are no words.  I knew going in Anthony Ryan would win no matter what, but this still blows.

At least there is a new episode of Suits to dull the pain.

  • http://twitter.com/FunButNutz John Spodick

I knew from day one that Anthony Ryan was going to win, but after I saw Uli’s collection I said that there was NO WAY they could deny it to her….THIRD?????? THIRD??????? AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH

  • IamstillAnonymous

Uli sent that beautiful gown down the runway, and they tell Anthony Ryan his blue /black dress was the best they had ever seen?!  BULLSHIT.

  • SewingSiren

I really enjoyed Emilio’s and Uli’s collections. Anthony’s was nice, but not in the same league as the other two.
My heart was for Emilio to win. Although I would have been happy for Uli to win as well. I was sure that Anthony would not get third. But never the less when they sent Uli packing I was shocked. Not surprised when Anthony won after that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=755957928 Veronica Russek

Of course… How predictable. Anthony Ryan won… This is Anya all over again, and they even had to include a confession about how of he didn’t win this, it would be the end for him…. BLECH!

    Uli’s collection was far superior.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

Keep in mind that you need at last one life-threatening disease and two dysfunctional family members to make it past episode three.

        • CozyCat

Yeah.  All Uli had was the fall of communism.

          • bitchybitchybitchy

And that was SO last century.

Isaac: “Uli, can you shut up about the Berlin Wall for a sec? I need to hear more about Anthony Ryan’s single testicle.”

        • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

No, you need one serious illness — it doesn’t have to be life-threatening, since Anya and Gretchen didn’t have any.

          • Kristin McNamara

            Yes, they did: poverty.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

Gretchen’s poverty was actually truly moving and humanizing and was never over-played (we only really heard about it during her home visit), so to me it doesn’t count.

          • MoHub

Anya had the dead relative card to play. That’s almost as good as being a cancer survivor.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

Heidi: Tell me about your look, Jonathan K. Famewhore.
Famewhore: *slicking back spherical poufette* Well, my mom died of cancer, which I ALSO have, so–

Heidi: So you are the winner of Project Runway season umpteen! THAT’S A WRAP, GUYS!

Tim: I. Am. So. “Proud”. Of. You. *puts down script*

Ross Dress For Less: We are so glad that you are going to make a capsule collection for us, Mr. Famewhore.

Homeless woman: I am so glad I was the guest judge tonight for your amazing collection, Mr. Famewhore.

NYFW audience: *deathly silent because nobody is there*

Other finalists: *deathly silent because they don’t exist; no one else auditioned*

          • formerlyAnon

The quotation marks around Tim’s “proud” make this little vignette! Good work, sir.

        • Fordzo

But what was AR’s sob story?  I can’t remember.

He had testicular cancer as a baby and he’s also colorblind.
The second part is just as pathetic as it sounds. (“I’m colorbliiiiind! *sob*”)

  • LC3203

    Fuck this show. Seriously.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

This episode was, simultaneously, an hour full of beautiful clothes (Thank you, Uli and Emilio) and yet the worst episode I have ever seen (FUCK YOU, PRINCESS POUFETTE).

The highlight of tonight’s twitter feed:

Random Tweeter:  Ugh! The fix was so in for Anthony Ryan.
Althea Harper: *in reply* That’s why I’m glad I left when I did.

Oh Althea. YOU should have been there instead of Princess Poufette.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Good for Althea.  I wonder how quickly the designers realized that the whole thing was fixed for AR.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

Even Uli, our sweet, kind, lovely, adorable, never-has-a-bad-thing-to-say Fraulein Uli, has started tweeting about the fix for AR. EVEN. ULI.
        Highlights:

“Winning means…. exchanging your freedom for golden handcuffs and being a Lifetime puppet. I would suck at that.”
        –Uli

“Now, I’m not knocking Anthony Ryan as a perosn. I’m knocking the producers and Lifetime”
        – Retweeted by Uli

Ivy: “Uli had by far the best finale collection. But this wasn’t the way the story goes.”
Uli: “So right. Thank you Ivy.”

She made SUCH a transformation design-wise. Luxe, summery resort-wear in S3 to frigid winter wonderland in All Stars without losing any Uli edge. This is a JOKE.

        • bitchybitchybitchy

Good for Uli that she knows herself and that those golden handcuffs would be a real problem for her. At least we saw the creative development that Uli has experienced since Season 3, and what she can offer.

      • Lisa_Cop

Quite soon. Ivy as much as said so in her blog. But everybody (including crew) has to sign strict confidentiality agreements.

        • formerlyAnon

And those confidentiality agreements must be doozies! As many seasons as this show has been on the air, as many people as have been on/worked on it, I am surprised how little has leaked out – not surprised so much about the big dramatic turns, but even the small procedural matters that lots of people would be interested in.

(edited several times for basic english grammar.)

    • dschubba

I’d assumed that she’d be in the final three, in place of Anthony Ryan.

  • notdorothygale

Just canceled my subscription to Marie Claire. Done with all of it.

  • BookishBren

Throw things at me, hiss at me, boo at me….but I liked Anthony Ryan’s collection. I wouldn’t have picked him as the winner, but i liked his collection a lot. I hope everyone calling out Anya and AR in the same breath is just talking about the railroading by the judges, because he is a much better designer than her. Plus he has skillz…I mean, he can make sleeves and everything. :P  Kidding aside, I just liked his. I think he was really smart for picking Kayne to help also.

I actually thought Uli should have won. Her entire presentation, even how the models walked, was just amazing. Wow. They really made Casanova look like an a**. I wonder if he just didn’t help or she just didn’t want his help.

I was actually the least impressed with Emilio’s. I found it boring and it all felt a little 1980s to me.

I quit PR after the Anya season, but I have watched the last two All Stars because I knew and remembered those designers.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=755957928 Veronica Russek

I did actually meant the railroading and I’m sure the majority of people here did too. Uli was soooo, so robbed… I hope she goes on to have a successful carreer despite not winning this, and people take notice of her.

      • BookishBren

That is what I thought. (Can’t stand Anya…quit regular PR over that mess).

I just can’t believe Uli didn’t win it. And to give her THIRD PLACE was a joke. A JOKE!!! Part of me wonders if that isn’t why Emilio couldn’t stop laughing. lol

      • bitchybitchybitchy

I agree that it is the blatant favoritism shown to AR that really turned me off.  Yes, he is skilled, and has some ability-but neither factored into his win, IMHO.  I wish Uli and Emilio all the best. Hopefully if Uli wants to pursue fashion she’ll have gained something from this season.

    • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

No throwing here — I would absolutely buy several things from that collection, especially the yellow and gray dress.  But it wasn’t exciting, it was just clothes.  Pretty clothes, highly marketable clothes, but just clothes.

  • BookishBren

Also, has anyone else noticed that Joanna Coles’ hair is really thinning on top?! Hair loss was my primary symptom when my thyroid problems began. I want to tweet her and say “Girrrrrrl. Get your thyroid checked!”

But seriously, you can see serious amounts of scalp. I noticed it a while back and it got worse during filming. :/

    • Fordzo

I noticed it, too.  But this show looks really weird on my TV, anyway (I have to adjust the color/brightness every week – but only for PR, it’s strange) and I thought maybe I had the contrast set wrong.  Last night was the first time I noticed it.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3JSTXMWWVZN2QNP2UEKJMTWD7U Isabel

A family friend dyed her hair herself and went overboard a few times. Now, she has big bald spots. I’m sure Joanna doesn’t do it herself, but the chemicals must be affecting her more as time goes by.

Another family friend went overboard with keratin treatments and all her hair fell out!

  • dharmabum8

Omg, I thought Uli had it by a country mile. Nothing was eye searingly hiddy, but come the fuck ON. How did she not win?!

Oh. What a surprise. Anthony Ryan. I’m shocked. And stunned. Never saw that coming. Not at all.

  • guest2visits

PRAS is a really bleak place for a designer to end up. I feel like the 3 of them (well no, make that 2) have just been asked to hit
themselves with sticks repeatedly and then show up for a little water boarding.    I am so, so sorry Uli, Emilio.

At first; I thought what a nice thing that the show held the finale in a much better place than the little room with a couple chairs
like the 1st PRAS.  But then; why bother?  If it’s another rush job, then it’s not going to be polished, or anything like the best work
the designers can do.  Imagine if they had 12 weeks and a visit from Tim. How about 6 weeks?  Time to re-think or perfect an idea.
    Then they wouldn’t get stupid comments like ‘this looks inexpensive’ or ‘junior’. Which were both my observations for Anthony’s line-up;
not Uli or Emilio’s.   Uli’s was the most expensive looking; and I thought it was the better collection – however I bet she would have
made a much different line if given the time; less feathers and fantasy, and more pragmatic. Emilio’s could have been so much more
    diverse; it was a great idea about women in the work place, specifically in traditionally masculine labor; but it came off as one-note;
it was not fully realized. And I am sick about it because Emilio has such mad skills. NOTENOUGHFKINGTIME.
    Anthony’s was the most simply designed work; and yet it too had finish issues. His line of colorblock dresses are already boring to me;
I think they were everywhere; 2 or 3 years ago. Especially cobalt and black. (What are the odds that all of them would have been
black, white and blue if someone hadn’t nudged him away from it?) A few of the dresses were just fine; but I thought the look was
overall very young. Isaac used the word junior for the wrong contestant.  And I can’t even comment on the level of gushing over AR’s
collection. I think he’s nice and I’ve liked several of his designs through the season; but this was not a fair, objective win.
    I hope I can see the collections more clearly tomorrow (because it’s never easy to see it on the actual program of course);
    but I think the line-up should have been Uli-1, Emilio-2, and Anthony-3.

  • wawawah

Anthony Ryan Gurrrrl…she got a LV carry-on. Who wants to bet it’s fake?

On the west coast, so I’m just now watching the ridiculous judging that calls Uli’s work “a student collection” while AR gains praise for making the same dress in multiple lengths and colors. AR can place pockets right where the hand begins. OMG! Unprecedented!

Loved Emilio’s inspiration; wish more of his pieces has worked. Too many baby heads in those bodices.

ULI third? She is amazing and a treu talent! XXX

  • http://www.facebook.com/fiddlecub Kevin VanOrd

    TLo–leave the show behind.

It’s part of your legacy. We loved being there right along with you–the Ninacaps, the ripping, the passion and the bittersweetness of it all.

But you have grown, and so have we. Project Runway has been destroyed, as has the trustworthiness of its panels and hosts. You are so much better than this, and so are we. If you turn your backs on this once-great show, we will still be there with you. The bitter kittens might be bitter–and inconsistent, and mouthy, and bitchy–but we’re also loyal, and supportive, and full of love for what you do, and the art you admire.

If this is the final straw, well, we understand. And we aren’t going anywhere.

Agree. Don’t bother with the show anymore. I took it off my DVR for a while, then put it back, but after this, it’s off for good. I’ll read and laugh at the recaps – if T & Lo post it, but won’t watch the show anymore. It’s boring. Loved Uli’s collection, though, especially the gown. That was a moment…

    • notdorothygale

Oh, I so ditto this. TLo helped build excitement over the budding fashion competition program, hobnobbed with its wonderful designers and hosts, and thrilled us with their inside photos and stories. It looks like most of us have just HAD IT and won’t be watching the next incarnation of PR. So if you two sweeties want to drop this deflated “ball”, please…have at it!

  • Rand Ortega

Wow. AR won. What a shocker. Who saw that coming?
    Jesus.
    Poor Uli. Poor Emilio.

If there actually was any doubt that AR would win, it evaporated when he walked out on the runway for his show and that model lady host (never bothered to learn her name) was beaming lovingly at him. Wind it back a look at them look at him. That’s when the evening ended for everyone else.  But…Also watch them watch his show. At the end they are barely smiling and the smiles look plastered on and forced.  They knew they’d have to give him the win that he didn’t win.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_H3XBSNN3JLZWI4R2EPZ2BQYT5U Suzanne S

I also noticed that look you refer to.  Uli & Emilio’s collections were leagues above AR’ s.(to my untrained eye). The look on the judges’ s faces was like “Oh no, we already engraved AR’ s name on the tiara & Isaac has already erected (hee) a golden statue of AR at Parsons”

  • http://twitter.com/LAMusing LAMusing

Gobsmacked.  We knew… we knew… but seeing the collections it seemed impossible… sigh. Tahari nailed it in saying Uli’s could be on any runway in the world.  AR’s by contrast could be on any rack at a mid-level department store.  Which isn’t a terrible thing, it’s just… wearable. Emilio’s was interesting – lots of pieces I liked.  What was most fascinating was the strong emotional reaction the judges showed to Uli’s collection, and to a slightly lesser extent to Emilio’s.  Anthony Ryans got no such reaction.  They talked about pockets and not liking the final dress.  So of course AR won.
I threw up in my mouth a little.

  • http://twitter.com/LAMusing LAMusing

“The placement of those pockets is shockingly sophisticated. Is that a mistake? I can’t believe you came up with that. I’m jealous of you.”  - Mizrahi

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FBVC5LBEOWEHBYYCH3A2IZGZHI yahoo-FBVC5LBEOWEHBYYCH3A2IZGZHI

I’m really in the minority here.  I really liked all three collections. These 4-day final collections were far better than the boring finals for the last regular season.   I liked Anthony Ryan’s best.  It was the most contemporary and exciting, elegant simple lines, great proportion, simple without being simplistic.  I didn’t feel that it was repetitive.  It’s a matter of taste, though.  Uli’s looked a bit overworked and Emilio’s a bit traditional by comparison, even though I really liked their collections, too.   The test is if Anthony Ryan will stand the test of time.  Can he change his approach after the color blocking and simple silhouettes give way to another design trend?

I think there’s an age factor here.  Anthony Ryan’s clothes have a younger vibe, he’s actually much younger than the other two, and he won.  Uli and Emilio are more skilled and mature, more capable of rolling with the punches designwise, and it shows, but they were not picked.

    • http://twitter.com/Alloyjane Alloy Jane

Fucking please.  Mila does color blocking WAY better than AR.  And they schmaufed her for that on the first All Stars season. But hey, you seem to be on the payroll if you think his work isn’t utterly redundant (an frequently ill-fitting).  But if you think Uli is overworked, what on earth did you think of the Marchesa monstrosities worn by Slow Talker and Mrs. Exquisitely Beautiful?  You could scrub dishes with their rags…

      • Celandine1

LMAO because I have crocheted pot scrubbers from that “fabric”.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FBVC5LBEOWEHBYYCH3A2IZGZHI yahoo-FBVC5LBEOWEHBYYCH3A2IZGZHI

Actually, I agree with you.  Mila does color blocking way better than AR.  He’s not the best, I just like that futuristic/scifi vibe personally.  I just couldn’t totally get behind Uli’s and Emilio’s even though I liked their collections a lot (4 days???).  And I liked Uli’s collection much better than whatever Carolyn and Georgina wore, those were gauche.

In my original post I was going to put in remarks about how Anthony Ryan fits in with the very fast minimalist business models these days. Dresses are easy to produce, can be very cheap to produce, are potential moneymakers for the masses, reflect business’ pared down style.  This is the future.  Like the way it looks, don’t agree with it.

    • Laylalola

Anthony Ryan’s collection has been in department stores the better part of the last half decade now.

  • Zippypie

*coughbullshitcough* Put a fork in me. I’m done.

      This, so this

Does Project Runway exist only to mess with Uli Herzner, AKA the sweetest creature on Earth? Because it really seems that way.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jon.kahrs.9 Jon Kahrs

Well, to quote my favorite desert maker “Burnim/Murray, in that contest you were no sweet genius”.  Luckily FaceOff and Sweet Genius are awesome replacements for this show….  I actually thought they all brought out coherent collections so on one level I appreciated all of them.  I really liked Emilio’s idea and the vibrancy was nice.  I don’t hate AR’s collection.  Color blocking is a great technique and his cloths would make better Star Trek uniforms then the ones they ended up using in the movies.  I rooted for Mila when she brought color blocking to the finale.  But she also layered her color blocking in black and white and used texture in far better ways then AR me thinks.

    • MoHub

So, did you see Ron Ben Israel dancing with the samba dancer? So cool, and his moves were very graceful. Just hope that doesn’t mean he’ll show up on Dancing With the Stars; he’s too good for that.

And I think you mean cohesive rather than coherent.

Hey I watch DWTS, and “the Chairman” from Iron Chef (Mark something) was a pretty good dancer his season.

        • MoHub

I saw that too. He comes from a family of martial artists, so he’s pretty athletic—both genetically and by training. Terrible actor, though.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=755957928 Veronica Russek

OMG, did the Chairman from Iron Chef dance for real??? I would have loved to see that, but I hate DWTS so much… I’d rather watch paint dry than that.

  • Qitkat

You know, I don’t even dislike Anthony Ryan. Except for his towering hair, which I swear grew higher every episode. He’s a decent designer. He sews well, generally. I just don’t find him that imaginative, or innovative, or fresh. His work is what I think of when a judge says *I’ve seen it all before*. We all kept hearing that the *fix was in*, and yet, desperately, we kept on watching, and seeing Uli, and Emilio, denied of deserving wins, and not wanting to really believe, I guess, that “they” would do this to us, the loyal kittens and fawns and minions AGAIN. And *Of Course* they did, they really did. We wonder, does anyone at Lifetime read this blog? do they report to the producers the feedback? How many non-posting folks do you suppose actually feel the same as most of us do here tonight? Are we vastly outnumbered by the people who just want to see purty dresses and a sob story? Are we really in the minority of viewers? I guess it’s impossible to know. I told myself not to be disgruntled, not to be so bothered, but yeah, I am. I’ve said it before, and didn’t follow through. But this time, I.AM.DONE. No more being jerked around. PR can just keep on jumping over that shark, without me. Loyalty has its limits.

    • formerlyAnon

I think it’s pretty obvious (fan favorites, for instance) that Lifetime has a large and happy audience for the show as it currently exists.  It’s become decreasingly important to me over the last several years, and while I don’t think I’ll quit watching completely, it has become a show I regularly forget to watch. I can’t invest in the designers any more – some cycles they’re sub-par, and in ALL cycles they are poorly treated – asked to perform in impossible circumstances and then the performance is not judged remotely fairly.

Bottom line – I still enjoy the discussion of the show here on this blog. The shared focus of discussion for a community of regular posters is its primary importance to me now. Even the TLo commentary has lost some of its zing because, well, the show isn’t as easy to take “seriously” is my guess. I will probably watch bits of the show occasionally so I can enjoy the commentary here.

      • Qitkat

Sing it sister. When I get past my disgruntledness, I find that I feel exactly as you do.

  • Indovina

    Well, that went as expected.

I can’t say I was even bothered at this point. In fact, I didn’t dislike Anthony Ryan’s collection. In no just universe did it deserve to win, but I didn’t dislike it. It was, if things were to be judged honestly, clearly third place, but we all knew that wasn’t going to happen. Nevertheless, at this point, I just don’t care – I can’t even bring myself to be annoyed at the judges for playing along with the script. Isaac Mizrahi’s judging PR All Stars is no different than his appearing in car commercials; Georgina Chapman is there in her capacity as executive producer’s wife; Carolyn Murphy is a rent-a-host; guest judges are there to be on TV. The show gives the audience absolutely no reason to expect serious judging, so I can’t even complain that it doesn’t deliver it.

On a more positive note, I finally managed to find the second half of the first season of PR Canada and watched that, so at least I got to see some decent version of the show today.

    • SRQkitten

Where did you find PR Canada? With PR Lifetime imploding via producer manipulation, I’d be interested in seeing something closer to the original PR Bravo that was a series worth watching

      srq

      • Stubenville

OMG! PR Canada season 1 was amazing. And Iman was absolutely fierce as the host.

      • Indovina

I… borrowed it… through the internet… from some friends. In Sweden.

And by borrowed, I mean illegally downloaded. And by friends, I mean complete strangers who BitTorrent things.

I must advise that preceding in a like manner is a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and… I’m going to say the Witchcraft Act of 1735.

But I definitely recommend it. It has Iman, who is (having seen the original, Canadian, Australian, and South Korean versions of the show) hands down, without question, the best host of any permutation. Rita Silvan and Shawn Hewson were fantastic, too – the judges actually (horror of horrors) made serious points about the work and didn’t move in lockstep (often calling each other out for perceived craziness). And they dress well. Overall, probably my favourite set of judges from any version of the show (though I do also like the original Australian judges – I think Jayson Brunsdon was better with his witticisms than Michael Kors even at his best). Likewise, Brian Bailey was great as mentor – he really seemed to present ideas and challenge the designers to think about all of the different aspects of their work.

I even like the second season, which was weak by comparison (and how), having the dreaded stench of inevitability that recent seasons of American PR have – with the important exception that the winner genuinely was the clear winner.

        • SRQkitten

Ok, was hoping that it was something easy like iTunes, where its possible to download the UK series The Thick of It (very dark political comedy series)….no such luck. I suspect I might have crossed those lines and be burnt at the stake along with you for viewing downton abbey season 2 before it was broadcast here.. ..didn’t quite realize it was not ok until the recent interview with the downton cast that TLO posted where the producer or director made nasty noises about people having illegally downloaded series 3 in the us.

In our digital world it does seem somewhat bizarre that we can’t watch PR from other (better) productions or series in the same time sequence as other countries like the UK.

Sounds like PR Canada was everything the current version of PR – and especially all stars (HA!) is not.

          srq

  • John11581

Everything wrong with Project Runway ever since it moved to Lifetime can be summed up in that picture of the judges.  Does production really expect viewers to take anything these judges have to say about fashion seriously when they are dressed like that?  I’ve seen more “fashion” channel surfing as fast as my fingers can take me past TLC during a Toddlers & Tiaras marathon.

When Isaac crossed his legs and I saw that he wasn’t wearing socks, a little part of me died.

I usually don’t take this too personally (it’s just a TV show, after all), but this season really felt insulting to me as a viewer.

  • Laylalola

    Unbelievable.

Wasn’t there a colorblocked collection at Kohl’s recently as well? I didn’t see anything new or innovative about AR’s collection.

Baton Rouge is known for having a lot of chain stores.

I was actually visualizing the “Anthony Ryan Auld Collection for Target.”

      • bitchybitchybitchy

I can see that, too-and how quickly it would be marked for clearance.

Merits of the win aside, two things popped out at me — First, that these three were able to create such goodlooking clothes in 4 days.  I enjoyed the runway show — all three collections looked great from the little I was able to see given all the usual annoying reaction shots and this time around the tacky ass maudlin phony chats with Joana that cut into the actual ability to see the freaking garments!

And, two, Carolyn Murphy just bugs to no end.  On top of the excruciating delivery, anyone wearing that monstrosity of a ballgown — can I call it a gallgown — should not be in a position to judge anything!

Was Carolyn’s dress a Marchesa? Probably

  • BethR52

I had missed the Paris part of last week’s show and just watched it last night.  I was struck with Joanna reminding the deisgners to create a dream on the runway.

There is no idea in Anthony Ryan’s work, and there never is (and never was on his original season) because he has no ideas in his head.  *This* is why I hold him in contempt, which I argue is deserved — he mocks Uli for making white dresses with ‘she just wants a ring on that finger’ [let that one sit for a while] and probably couldn’t name a single designer collection that relied heavily on white.  I would bet everything I own that he has no idea of who Piet Mondrian was, but does know that cobalt and colorblocking was all over mid-to-upper department stories like Bloomingdales a couple of times over in the last decade.  He is not Emilio – shorted for time while trying to fuse together a couple of pretty damned interesting ideas, a designer who is truly interested in how to dress women in a lively and flattering way, and someone with an *actual* underrepresented perspective.  Nor is he Uli, with her ability to harness a certain whimsy, and where you see evolution — where you see *ideas* of some kind.

A.R.’s roughly a Zara/TRF designer, and about half of what he showed could be sold at Zara.  That’s not hating.  That’s just recognizing what I saw when I hit the sales racks in the past month.  I think even with the prize, he’s not going to make much of a mark.  He’s just not interesting in any way at all, and doesn’t seem to have the capacity to be more interesting over time.

    • LearnedFoot

OMG, did he really say that about Uli? Did my brain just activate “self-protection” mode and block it out? Because that is some condescending, sexist bullshit right there.

      • BPlease

Indeed he did, in a TH during the Elie Tahari challenge.

He of course also sighed like the undereducated drama llama that he is during the veterans’ challenge that he had to ‘create a waistline’ for his client.  “Create.”  And of course he knew at this point his client was self-conscious about having put on weight after getting injured during her service.  Anthony Ryan’s got more than a little of the bitch in him and it’s far from cute.  It’s not a linguistic slip; he’s smug, and he doesn’t wear that well.

Poor Uli. clearly the most talented of the whole season and to get 3rd place is an outright travesty.  Her collection was stunning and so different from what she shown at S3. I didn’t even watch the whole episode only the runway show and judging. I didn’t need to fix see the  fix t know it was in.

If PR is going to be this obviously staged, then B/M needs to pony up some money to get the judges some acting lessons.

    • libraangel

and get new clothes for the judges!

  • pdquick

First, Carolyn’s gown: It’s as if Georgina and Karen were making a gown from the neck down, and when they got past the hips, they just said “Oh, fuck it. Make it a midi-tutu”

Second, Carolyn:  When Anthony Ryan said, “That’s the last time we’ll see her walk away,” didn’t we all feel a little warm happy feeling inside? Even tough she did actually have to be seen walking away one more time, it’s a happy thought.

Third, Carolyn’s tortured speaking style: The most perversely entertaining part of the show was watching Carolyn form the letter U with her mouth, then counting the beats until she managed to say “…Uuuuuuuul-iiiii.” Then to prove it wasn’t just a fluke, she formed the letter A with her mouth long before she was able to bleat out “…Aaaaaan…thuuuun…nyyyyy….Ryyyyyy…..unnnnn.”

Please, God, let it be like Anthony Ryan said. Walk away for the last time. Go on girl, with your midi- length Marchesa tutu. I mean, Go on girl; the gig is over.

Did I just hear Marherita Missoni say “there is not much experimentation” about Emilio- this from a member of a family whose entire business revolves around similar prints in the different colour schemes.
