if the object was to look like your torso and neck are covered by a virulent strain of black mold i would say she succeeded…

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

The problem here is that it’s too Project Runway.

    • Annabelle Archer

Loose the neck piece and the black netting and you might have a solid 6 of a dress.

      • out for a walk

        Or a solid 6 of a high-waisted skirt?

Lord I am showing my age. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was Cheryl Tiegs.

      • Imasewsure

Oh my god me too!!! On Cheryl though this dress would have been almost forgivable (not attractive, but forgivable)

      • http://www.facebook.com/CatherineKatz Catherine Katz

Right on target.  Cheryl Tiegs it is.

    • conniemd

I don’t actually mind the top and the lace. What I don’t like is the fit around the stomach and hips which makes her look fat.

      • maygoon

Uhmmm, I think you could say that the fit isn’t as flattering as it should be or maybe that the shape isn’t the best for her, but it would take a lot more than an ill-fitting dress to make her look fat.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1320543246 Eleonora Rossi

I agree. It’s not like she IS fat, but this dress actually makes her look like that..it’s not really HER dress

      • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

OK, time to close out of the pro-ANA websites and get thee to a shrink immediately.

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

great face and hair, terrible from the neck through torso, lovely clutch. so, scrolldown fugglecoaster.

    • kimmeister

She looks like she’s being strangled by black thorns.

      Makeup looks great though.

    • Catherine McCord

she should send this dress to JLo

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Catherine Zeta-Jones called. She wants her dress back.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=790818401 Laurie Landry

Would that collar/neck thing not drive you berserk!?
Lace and then lace and then lace and oh yeah Mermaid!

      • Kayceed

Ooh, a game for fashionistas – instead of duck, duck, goose, we have lace, lace, mermaid!

    • IAmJ

She’s so pretty and the makeup is the bomb. This dress is not her friend, though. Makes her look hippy which I know she isn’t.

      • Alyssa

Makeup is good, and she is so pretty & this dress isn’t showing that off!

    • felicia zuniga

I’d rather see some commentary on what her bff Phoebe Tonkin wore… Because that has me confused.

    • http://twitter.com/dollsaga Dollsaga

not the best mermaid shape,  does this girl have a waist or not? if not, then choose an empire waist instead of mermaid.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=13805908 Kelly Sowers

It shortens her neck, flattens her boobs and widens her waist. Also, I HATE exposed zippers on anything other than maybe streetwear. You’ve got evening gown and metal zipper, it’s like prime rib and ketchup. Ew.

      • ballerinawithagun

Hate the exposed zippers! Yes, prime rib and ketchup, the waiter would give you a wilting glare.

    • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Why those earrings with this dress?  They’re nearly invisible.

    • Imasewsure

Very appropriate for a zombie movie since it looks like the Black Death climbing up her neck…. U.G.L.Y.

    • Introspective

So her top half is ready for her free skate at the ’98 winter olympics and her bottom half is ready to walk down the aisle as the corpse bride.

Neither half flatters nor makes any sense. Go home and try again girl.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Pretty girl, hideous dress. Just hideous. There is not one element worth saving.

    • bertkeeter

Boring! It was a better bridal dress before she dyed it black!

    • VicksieDo

      I want her eyes…but not that dress…

    • http://www.facebook.com/CameronETurner Cameron Turner

Beautiful, but is it too formal for the occasion?

    • MilaXX

the piece across the neck looks like it’s trying to choke her.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1266410766 Phyllis Craine

Shame on Philip Armstrong for that ripply zipper! That’s a quality control problem that could have been avoided with a strip of interfacing on the fashion fabric. The zipper has rippled because the fashion fabric has srtetched and zippers don’t.

      • Jackie4g

Wouldn’t you think for the money that dress probably cost that they could set a damn zipper? I saw those ripples and  became outraged. It’s not like they don’t have any black tricot interfacing  around. Shoddy workmanship.

    • l_c_ann

The question of who is appropriately dressed emerges in the last photo of her glancing over her shoulder as Miss torn stockings and dirty top discusses the world with Mr shredded blue jean cuffs as the three await entry, all  standing on the same red carpet.

      • PrunellaV

Aw, give them a break. You try keeping up your wardrobe as a zombie!

    • Alyssa

I quite like her as an actress (mostly because she was awesome in I Am Number Four, and I love that book series!), but this is not as flattering as she thought it was. Ditch the extensions & get a new stylist!

    • quiltrx

This just looks really awkward and uncomfortable.  This might be Cher’s dress, but no one else’s.

    • 3boysful

I know  ya’ll will toss rotten tomatoes my way, but I don’t mind the black fungus top.  *duck-n-cover*
I cannot, however, abide the MORE BLACK LACE.  Perhaps a nice black crepe for the skirt?

    • ccm800

       yeah, no.

    • http://twitter.com/amndad amanda lynn

      She’s pretty!

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

      Not flattering in the least.

    • LesYeuxHiboux

How she manages to look like a different successful starlet (Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts, and Kristen Stewart) with each new angle is fascinating. Not great for her career unless she wants to be a stunt double.

      That’s an exorcism dress.

    • unbornfawn

That’s unflattering. Straight on I can’t see any of her curves. It looks like the lace has crawled up and is trying to choke her.

      • Jackie4g

There’s not even a hint of a waist. Unflattering is the word.

      • kschwarting

I should have read down first–I completely agree about the choker.  It’s the worst part of a no good, very bad dress.

    • Sara__B

Lace + illusion netting + visible zipper + mermaid hem = why did this lovely young woman choose to wear this mess?

    • Elleachaudaucul

      That is one ugly dress.

    • Scarlet39

I kind of like the top, but the skirt and that zipper are hideous.

    • Little_Olive

I feel like I have seen this dress before. When I was little (the 80s). In white, maybe?

    • Kathy_Marlow

I really, REALLY despise the zipper with the nude mesh, just make it a halter already and be done with it.

    • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

      Ummm…No.  Just no.

    • http://aldonsusi.blogspot.com/ Susi R

Are those zombies in the last picture?!

      • Stubenville

        Zombies, production assistants… tomato, tomahto.

    • ChaquitaPhilly

Then, suddenly, the dress started to grow…

    • Kristy Evans

I want to like this, but just looking at that lace on her neck is making me itchy. There is no way she wouldn’t want to rip that shit off halfway through the night.

      • kschwarting

That was the first thing I saw, too.  She looks like she’s being literally choked by her lace choker.

      • Tracy_Flick

ITA, it looks incredibly uncomfortable. Like the collar is a sentient being, ever so slowly choking her.

    • Vlasta Bubinka

Where’s Uncle Nick when you need him: “Look at my whickety whack!”

    • Zippypie

Not to be too gross, but I’ve had a fungal infection in my sinuses for months and I can imagine that it looks very similarly to the bodice of this dress.

I want to go down to the garment district right now, to every fabric store, and burn all the illusion netting.  RIGHT. NOW.

      • Stubenville

I’ll testify that it was an accident. (Wear something flame retardant.)

    • MoHub

Makes her look positively shapeless, and I’m sure she isn’t.

    • alyce1213

She has pretty hair.  There is nothing, absolutely nothing good about this dress, it’s just cheap and hideous.

    • marilyn

Yawn.  The dress does nothing for her shape.  No one is blown away by no bra, and low cut front.  Black lace has been done so much it is also boring.  Yawn.

    • Jill Morino

Flesh eating bacteria in dress form.

    • MissAmynae

There’s some fungus among us! and its a turtleneck.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=503819816 Crishna Simmons

“Help! My dress is trying to eat me!”

    • Stubenville

Ugh – a different neckline would have been a 100% improvement. And what does she have in the comically tiny clutch? One key?

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

      Help! I’m being strangled!

    • libraangel

Something is wrong at the top: doesn’t flatter her at all.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ENBX3563Q4ZNCVRGSJVFIB7OAA Thom

Great face of makeup: I almost couldn’t recognize her, though!

As for the dress, my main gripe is how short-waisted her torso looks: if the sheer bodice was instead 3 inches longer before joining that skirt, the effect would be much more proportional. As is, it kinda makes her look thick-waisted, since the skirt comes above her natural waist.
