Pairs Division: Fanning and Fanning

Posted on January 08, 2013

Wow, Baby Sis towers over Big Sis. Who knew?

Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning attend a promotional event for the 2013 J.ESTINA Spring/Summer Presentation in Seoul.

Opening Ceremony Floral Dress. J.ESTINA Neo Glam Collage Tiara Necklace. Miu Miu Patent Jewel-Heel Bow-Toe Sandal.

Nina Ricci Lace Dress. J.ESTINA Bianca Gloria Rosa Ring. Miu Miu Metallic Leather Bow & Glitter-Heel Loafer Pump.

Have we done a sisters Pairs Division post before? We think this might be a first.

From the left:

SHE: Should be commended for wearing bright colors; something that normally appears to be against the Fanning girls’ religion or something. It’s a cute dress, but we think she might just be a bit too tall for it. The waist seems to be hitting much higher than her actual waist. The shape doesn’t flatter all that much either. Hair and makeup look pretty good (but as always, she’s too shiny) and the clutch is nice, but she’s got to get over her preference for clunky shoes on the red carpet. They just don’t work in pictures. Score: 5.5/10.

SHE: Is wearing something much more figure-flattering. It’s also a cute dress, but we so very wish it wasn’t white, which washes her out. Just a hint of pale blue would have made all the difference in the world. The jewelry is nicely chosen and the shoes are fabulous. Not in love with the clutch, though. A more vivid color would’ve worked better than that dusty pink. Hair and makeup are disappointing. Score: 7.5/10

Combined Score: 6.5/10.

We wonder why these two – especially Dakota, who’s older and has more years in the public eye – seem to have such a questionable relationship with makeup. We can understand wanting a clean face and not liking too much warpaint, but a little dab of color and something to even out the skin tone would work wonders on both of them when they’re posing for pictures.
