Nicole Kidman in Ellie Saab Couture

Posted on January 15, 2013

Nicole Kidman said something that struck us as a little odd to Ryan Seacrest the other night on the Golden Globes red carpet. Granted, it’s perhaps not fair to judge how anyone behaves when faced with the Seacrest. The willpower it takes to control the constant need to eyeroll in front of him alone would be enough to render the most erudite interviewee somewhat goofy. But she said that her recent gig portraying Princess Grace for the upcoming biopic rekindled her love of fashion after it had died down for a couple of years. Our first thought was, “Man, she just pissed off a whole bunch of designers who lent her dresses over the last couple of years.” Our second thought was, “We’re in for some SERIOUS Princess Grace drag in the coming months.”

Et voila:

Nicole Kidman attends the 2013 G’Day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala in an Elie Saab couture dress paired with Bottega Veneta pumps and Fred Leighton earrings.

Elie Saab Couture Fall 2012 Collection/Model: Sigrid Agren (ELITE)

Expect her to show up in a tiara somewhere before this is all over.

Oh, honey. It appears your Botox addiction has flared up again. And just when things had started to settle down.

I don’t like the color on her. She looks like a peach sorbet from head to toe, too monochromatic.

    • kirkyo

    • RebeccaKW

Agreed.  Wish she’d stayed in the gold version.  And worn different shoes.

    • lovelyivy

Agreed. The color on the original doesn’t look like it would work on her skint one at all (although it’s hard to tell when she’s not wearing it) but the peach is just not flattering.

      • 3boysful

That would be because the dress’ peach/ivory tones match exactly the ivory and fair red tones of her skin and hair. Can’t tell where she stops and dress begins.

    • Well-said.

    • Cathy S

       Right on.

    • Cydney Williams

Even the whites of her eyes are pink. she looks like a human bunny.

      • Kristin McNamara

Not even a bunny. Just the pink versions of those little marshmallow peeps you eat at Easter.

    •  It doesn’t help that her lovely husband is a shade of orange.

  • Jangle57

Her head reminds me of a china doll’s head.  This is not a good thing.  Dress is pretty but her head really negates the whole look for me.

    • NC_Meg

Her head looks like it was photoshopped on. I like the dress (although I wouldn’t have picked it for her) but from the neck up, it’s a disaster.

      • Carly Warnock

Her head is terrifying! That forehead! Ahhh! Run for your lives!

    • Spicytomato1

Doll head is right. I know someone who makes creepy art that incorporates doll heads and hers would fit right in and maybe even up the creepy factor.

    • Agreed. I wonder what her face would look like without any injectables at this point.

    • quiltrx

That’s so funny–I posted before reading any comments, and I got “porcelain mask” out of her face.  I see it wasn’t just me. 🙂

  • MilaXX

Dress yes. Shoes, no. Hair style tribute to botox, hell no!

    • StellaZafella

       Face looks like Ann Margaret…now.

      • She is actually making herself look older with all that botox and work!

        •  I was thinking the same thing!  She looks like a much older woman trying to look 40-ish.

      • V V

  • jw_ny

pretty much hate the entire look…

as for Keith, ok sure, he has a black tie on, but when did a BLACK TIE GALA become such a casual event that one can wear a plaid shirt and unbuttoned top button…gah!

    • Karen Maslowski

Isn’t that his go-to look for all occasions? I guess no one wants him to steal a march on Nicole.

  • marilyn

Her makeup was too daytime to wear with this dress.  She needed some drama somewhere.  Looks like we are in for another season of blush colored fabric.  This time done in sheer with  sequins and stuff on it.  The color is okay for her, but the hair and makeup are too daytime.  Her face is starting to look scary.  She needs to age a little so she doesn’t get the undead look going on.

  • Judy_J

    Barbie shoes!

  • filmcricket

Would have liked it better in the gold, I think, both for her skin tone and to eliminate some of the little-girlishness of it. That silhouette in baby pink just reads too juvenile.

  • Ozski

That close-up photo of her has to be the single most unflattering pic I have ever seen of Nicole. She is a lovely woman, but the lip fillers and the frozen forehead makes her look like a ventriloquist’s dummy. Pretty dress though and good color for her.

    • ecallaw1977

I agree with everything you said except for the color of the dress.  I wish it had been available in a jewel tone.

    • EveEve

Since TLo opened the door:  it’s not just lip filler and botox; it’s the new veneers making her smile so different.
Way too much princess in that dress for my taste. I think she does much better in simple column sheaths than all this sparkle.

    • GSMSF

Ironically, the outfit makes her look older as well, despite her obvious attempt to stay drinking at the fountain of youth.

  • MilaXX

Also can she please extend her love of fashion to giving her hubby a makeover? His entire look screams Sears young mens section. Don’t get me started on that 1987 frosted hairdo he is wearing.

    •  I know what you mean, but I do sort of love that he hasn’t become more fashiony to fit with her.

  • ConnieBV

I just don’t like her with this hair color, it completely washes her out.

    • Exactly. As soon as I saw it, I thought, “This dress belongs in Tay Tay’s closet.” Very pretty, but much too young for Kidman. Even if she’s channeling Princess Grace. Grace still managed to look like a grown woman. It’s not “The Princess Diaries.”

      • Mary229

In another color it might be fine.  Even in another shade of pink it might be fine.  But this dress combined with this shade of pink mades it teen.  Agree.

  • clatie

Someone needs to have a little talk with her – dress too young for her, face turning into Disney villainess.

    • Delaney Davis

Yeah, she’s not a fresh-faced starlet anymore, so much. The dress really highlights how much older her face looks.

  • The style of the dress is divine, but her forehead, eyebrows, and hair are TERRIBLE. GIRL. Stop this nonsense! Look to the Mirren and age gracefully!

  • AnnaleighBelle

I wish she wouldn’t pull her hair back so severely from her forehead.  I thought her face looked like it had settled nicely during the Globes, but maybe I wasn’t paying attention because something untoward is going on here.
The dress is kinda Betty Draper but I still am not fond.

    Out all the way around.

    •  She DID manage to match the dress to her bloodshot eyes, though, didn’t she?!

  • eowyn_of_rohan

I’m more preoccupied by staring at Keith Urban’s “femme k.d. lang” stylings.  Yikes.

  • IAmJ

Madame Tussauds did a fantastic job on this one.

    • MzzPants

       Har!  Good one.

    • Qitkat

Oooh, Bitter Kitten super snark 😉

  • AlexisPayne

Gorgeous dress, though it feels juvenile on her. Also, girl has too much forehead to wear her hair like that, she looks a little cray cray. Love love love the earrings.

    • I feel like that dress would look juvenile on anybody older than 20, much less the 45 year old Kidman.

The earrings are pretty fierce though.

      •  She’s about 40 years too old for this dress.  She needs to send it back to Honey Boo Boo.

  • Alisa Rivera

    The horror, the horror

  • newleaf1

Oh my goodness.  I know we aren’t supposed to body- or face-snark, but she’s got to draw the botox line somewhere.  She’s just starting to look unfortunately odd.

  • It looks like only her eyeballs can move

  • geans

TIP: Scrolling up to kind of hide her head really helped me evaluate the dress.

    • MzzPants

Okay, I don’t know if you meant this to be funny, but it registered a full coffee spew with me.  And then I took your advice.  Helped a lot!

      • Snoskred747

I agree, this was extremely helpful. 🙂 And also funny!

I like the dress when I look at it from the neck down. I think the color works quite well with her skintone, but I imagine it in a bright teal with the glittery highlights (perhaps in a silver instead) and think what a home run that would have been with her coloring.

But then it would be a completely different dress, so, there’s that.

Being a fellow Aussie the forehead and lip thing is disappointing. I don’t understand why she wants to be characterless in the face. For an actress it does not help. It isn’t making her look more young, it just looks silly. 🙁

  • Super_Red

the dress is loving, but holy crap her face! (and not in a, picking fun of how she looks way, but in a holy crap why do people do that to themselves way– she’s gorgeous! And her face does not currently look like her face.)

  • lindsmh

She looks like a Stepford Wife.

  • The close up of her face looks like a Photoshop accident where all her features were blown up to different sizes and reassembled, no? WTH happened?

Sorry – back to the outfit. It’s a gorgeous dress, but really wrong color-wise for her. And the ’80s prom shoes are killing me dead. I can’t even with the insane hair.

  • gabbilevy

It’s pretty enough but it’s not a great color and her hair is awful.

Also, I just can’t with the Grace flick. It’s going to be horrid.

  • MzzPants

She needs to baaack aawaaay from the face alterations.  It’s getting freaky.

  • Puck Thornton

Betty Draper would have looked lovely in this. Nicole’s face is extra scary in the first pic, she lookes like a wind-up doll.

  • Le_Sigh

Her eyebrows and forehead terrify me.

    I like that dress though.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

I like the dress, but the color is much too light for her.  It really washes her out.  What is up with these watery/pastel colors?!

  • e jerry powell

Her husband isn’t helping the look.

On another note, why waste the energy on not rolling one’s eyes at Seacrest? Maybe if enough people do it consistently, he’ll get the point.

  • Ballerina on a jewelry box. After work, in different shoes, on her way to dinner.

  • BrooklynBomber

Elie Saab: 0 for 2 today. My suspicion that only Marchesa is worse has been confirmed.

    • demidaemon

      What about Stella McCartney?

      • BrooklynBomber

I know her designs are widely disliked, but I rarely have a strong feeling one way or another about them.

  • cleep1000

I like everything from the neck down. But that face! No, girl. You’ve ruined yourself. And the hair does her no favors.

  • SewingSiren

I love the dress and earrings. But the face is so weird. So weird.

  • rissa42210

I like the dress, but it feels a little too young on her.  Maybe it would help if her hair wasn’t so cutesy-pootesy.

  • Maluca

I know I should comment on the fashion but… Why oh why can’t she understand red hair suits her so much more? And why can’t she stop it with the botox! Her face is distracting.

That said, I like the dress. Just not on her.

  • thecitysleeps

I love this so much. Very princess.  I especially like the earrings.  But maybe a little bit too ‘young’ for her.  I love the idea of the hair but I think it’s pushed a bit too backwards.  Her face is scary though.  Why do they think that looks better than wrinkles on their face?

  • In_Stitches

She looks like a GIANT six year old.  The white shoes really aren’t helping…

  • I wish her shoes had the color from the earrings? Is that terrible??

  • Diego!

OMG her face!!!!! *vomits* I used to consider her one of the most beautiful women in the world, but now… Uughh It looks as if she is going to fire lasers from her eyes! Why Nicole, why?

  • gsk241

She’s also wearing Elle Fanning’s dress!

  • laddie103

They really re-tooled that dress for her. It looks a lot more grown up on the model; Maybe it’s the junior princess hair.

  • To quote my mother, long ago: “What have you been doing, your eyes look like roadmaps””

  • belfebe

Love the dress.  Hate the hair.  Hate the shoes.  And what’s up with her eyes?  She looks like she hadn’t slept in weeks.  She’s such a beautiful woman.  I wish she laid off the Botox.  She really doesn’t need it.

  • Wendy Kaufman

Botox? I thought it was her hair that was not doing her any favors. Horrible hair. I agree, the gold dress is far better. The peach is not a good color for her, and the dress is significantly different–early 70’s cocktail vibe going on in the peach. The gold is just delicious with better trim.

  • DinaSews

He looks like he is out with his mother.

  • kayleymaybe

She’s looking more and more like a Stepford wife.

  • horrific. plastic. surgery.  just horrific. she looks liked a melted waxwork of herself.

  • Fordzo

She is beginning to look like a caricature of Nicole Kidman. It’s too bad, because I remember how pretty she looked when she was pregnant, and at that time I thought FOR SURE that she’d realize it, too, and not go back to the Botox.

    • Anathema_Device

It is possible to do smaller doses of Botox, so you look a little more natural with some faint lines. It also allows you to move your eyebrows. Another plus, especially if you’re in the business of acting. She should really dial it back.

  • Mary_Shelley

Nicole Kidman no longer looks like Nicole Kidman.  Wow.  And the dress rather insipid and too youthful for her plastic surgery non-determinate age.

  • Anathema_Device

Like the dress, but that hairstyle is really overemphasizing her overly botoxed forehead. Her eyebrows have dropped down considerably, esp. near the bridge of her nose.

  • This may sound mean, but she’s got the perfect head for bangs. Search google images for her in Practical Magic.  She never looked better.  And she’d save a ton of cash on the forehead botox alone.

  • Sara__B

“On the go-o-od ship Lollipop!”  I can’t decide if this is too girlie, too costumey, or both.

  • Monday1900

So disappointed she was cast as Grace!  So disappointed about what she’s done to her face too–she used to be so pretty.  Love the dress but it is a complete costume, as you say.

  • VeryClaire

You’d think someone that addicted to Botox would be a little more self conscious about wearing her hair pulled back from her face like a 6 year old. The dress is lovely, the forehead, no matter how much filler it has, needs to be played down.

  • Lilithcat

And that sure ain’t no Prince Rainier!

  • Yeah, that’s what she thought, too: “things had started to settle down.” Bah, hahaha…ha…ha…**crickets**  Anyway, step away from the syringe, Nicole, it isn’t your friend!  Neither is that hairstyle.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Boy, that hair doesn’t suit her new face at all. The yellowy tone of her hair is clashing with this peachy dress. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I do get what she meant about the fashion comment, though. She had a baby with her new husband and her priorities were elsewhere for a few years, enjoying something she had wanted for long time: a loving family.

  • I love everything in this collection. I don’t mind the color of this dress on her – it’s lovely, but I wish her hair wasn’t so tightly pulled back, and I think a different pair of shoes was called for (gold, perhaps?).

  • ankali

This frothy, babyish, confectionery kind of look is not her friend; ironically, it ages her. She looks much better in more dramatic and sophisticated couture.

  • Nancy Dunn

She looks horrible!! Her face is just very, very strange looking, like it is all stretched out, and the lack of color on her face and hair – ugh. Fail

Shiny, shiny forehead! I mean SIX head!  Geez that is a badbadbad hairstyle.  She would look better with his outdated hairstyle!  And surprised no one has mentioned the lip filler travesty!  She is some red lipstick away from looking like the Joker!  Yikes!

  • LaSylphide

Oh my god, she’s turning into Joan Rivers! Pretty dress, though.

  • kalisa

She looks like a Stepford Wife. And wow, that close-up is not pretty.

  • janierainie

I hate to see what’s happening to her face. Pretty dress.

  • fursa_saida

This is so…weird on her. I can’t remember ever seeing her go for these full, flirty, retro-feminine silhouettes and textures. She loves sleek and architectural and sometimes embellished. You’re right that this is totally Princess Grace drag, but surely she could have found some middle ground that didn’t look so unnatural on her?

Insert obligatory plea to PLEASE GOD STOP MESSING WITH YOUR FACE here, and send this dress to Amanda Seyfried where it belongs.

  • AngelaGreen

Ugh, I wish she’d leave her face alone.  She looks much prettier when she lets it relax a bit.  I just feel like her face actually looks uncomfortable, like when I wear a braid too tightly.

  • Kayla Moreland

    HER FACE!!!

  • kschwarting

I was just thinking that Nic was back on the Botox, perhaps because she needed to look younger to play Princess Grace.  Pretty dress (if not the best shade for her, as others have said below), unfortunate shoes.

  • Apart from everything already mentioned, those are some very pink eyes. Even neophyte dope smokers know that Visine is your friend.

That 50’s shirtwaist silhouette is one of my favorites of all time, but not here, not now and not like this.

  • decormaven

That’s such a Pretty Princess kind of dress to be paired with harsh makeup and severe hair style. It’s an extreme disconnect, and keeps me from properly assessing the total look.

    • mhleta

Yeah, it goes well into Miss Havisham territory, doesn’t it?

  • Kristy Evans

I understand that it is hard to be an aging actress in Hollywood, but honey, you get paid to EMOTE on screen… Plus, Meryl and Helen and Cate (for starters) are all doing a fine job, please let them be your role models. Sigh.

  • anotherkate

I saw Amy Adams on the red carpet cam and thought it was Nicole…and then I saw Nicole and realized just how far she’s taken the facial fillers. It’s kind of uncanny though, how much Amy Adams looks like Nicole used to, especially from the side. Similar ski-jump nose.

    • mhleta

AA should take that cautionary note and stay AWAY from the fillers!

  • coffeeandshoes

In the close-up, it almost looks like she got veneers that are too big for her mouth.  I think that’s part of what looks off here.

  • DiverK

Don’t like the color on her and the hair is TOO Bewitched to not throw the look into twitchy.

  • Pants_are_a_must

I miss her old face. Remember Practical Magic?

Also, the more she cosplays as Grace Kelly, the more obvious it is that she was beyond miscast for the role.

  • afabulous50

Her hair is absolutely awful!  Never style it like that…EVER!!

  • Allison Woods

What’s wrong with her upper lip?

  • mjude

whats sad is she didnt need the botox. also i think keith looks like he has dabbled in it too.

  • Mary229

I’m still pissed Amy Adams isn’t playing Princess Grace.

  • ralish

I love this dress, but the combination of the color, the shoes, the fluffy hem, and her hair are making her look like a grown-up child. Or like an older woman pretending to be a little girl.

  • Her face, I just can’t.  Why does she think that looks good??

  • sk8tfan

I love the dress, but not on her. I think she was the wrong choice for playing Grace; blonde hair washes her out and leeches all life out of her.

  • Alisa Rivera

Just googled and apparently the botox is what causes the bloodshot eyes. This is tragic. Reminds me of an essay Paulina Porizkova wrote for HuffPo. Money quote: “Nothing ages as poorly as a beautiful woman’s ego.”

    • Dot

Fascinating. I couldn’t help but notice the bloodshot eyes, but I had no idea that they were a side effect of botox. Poor Nicole.

  • mhleta

My first thought was A) Why is Louis CK wearing a peach tulle dress?  2) One should best refrain from pulling hair back from the forehead if it elicits the query: What would she charge to rent out space there? and D) Nicole Kidman playing Princess Grace??? Helloooo? Have you not heard of January Jones who is a near exact replica of her Graceness?

  • OrigamiRose

She and Keith look very happy and sweet together but I do wish they’d go to Couples Botox Therapy.

  • PrunellaV

Ugh. She looks like Margaret Thatcher. Which is not such a bad thing, except she’s supposed to look like Nicole Kidman.

  • Presumptuous Insect

I cannot get past the weirdness of her face. It is so distracting I cannot see anything else. Gah, she would have looked so wonderful without all the work. Look at Marissa Tomei. Beautiful.

  • BeaDee

How do you act when you’ve done that to your beautiful face??? How do you portray any emotion beyond startled?

  • claudemtl777

The first shot is screaming late 50’s Joan Crawford.
I recall TLo showing us stills from the princess Grace movie, and I wasnt feeling her as the princess

    • schadenfreudelicious

  • It’s a lovely dress, but not on her. She’s too pale. Also? She has rictus face.

  • Warrior89

    Her face OMG WTF.

    • Carleenml

It makes me so sad. I shouldn’t care. But I do. I want to live in a world where beautiful women don’t do this to themselves.

  • schadenfreudelicious

there is botox, and then there is Nicole…..

    • Lilak

Oh man, that’s a big ol’ drive-in movie screen she’s got goin’ on.
And I don’t know if it’s the botox that’s distorting the rest of her face or other assorted, um, post-processing, but … golly.

      • schadenfreudelicious

there appear to be a few things working in combination to destroy her beautiful face, way too much botox creating a massive fivehead, a hairstyle that just emphasizes the vast expanse of flesh, awful lip filler and perhaps a new set of veneers?…the results are truly terrifying….

  • Can’t say anything nice.  Commencing not saying anything at all.  *ziip*

  • Hate to say it, but this dress is just too young for her.  She still looks great (ok, a little alert because of the ‘tox), and she can pull off really striking looks but “cute” just does not play.

  • The shoes bother me. Such a delicate dress should have a more delicate shoe. Also, I LOVE Elie’s designs, but dresses like these seem to be somewhat juvenile and look off on women over a certain age, at least to me.

  • Her hair is terrible! And the overly pink makeup red-eye look…yikes!  Dress is okay.

  • B_C_J

All I am reading is “Stepford wife”.  The dress color is not flattering and the style may be a bit too youthful for her. Her hair is also not the best.

  • This is a dress that’s kind of too young for her, send that to Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone or Watson, Hell Kristen Stewart would look better in this (a gold or black version of course)

  • I’m sorry but she is just too old for this outfit and that hairstyle (I am her age so know this for a fact). She looks like Freakin’ Baby Jane.

  • Her face is ruined…. I can’t even see her clothes anymore…. her plastic surgeon should be shot….

  • Contralto

You could bounce a quarter off that forehead.

  • ZnSD

Jesus. Nicole, honey? QUIT MESSING WITH YOUR FACE. I swear, she’s like a methhead with a scab. She just can’t leave it alone.

  • nannypoo

    This is just silly.

  • Aurumgirl

The hair and the infantile pink of that dress (and the crazy shocked surprised look of the newly surgically uplifted) makes her look crazy.  Like Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.

  • Its embarrassing how bad her face work looks. Poor her, poor hubby. Its a big white elephant.

  • Anniebet

Anyone want to start a betting pool as to when she starts to resemble Mary Tyler Moore?

  • crash1212

I love the dress and think it’s a good choice for her…she looks beautiful. BUT….man, that hair is WAY too severe. I loved how she had it at the Golden Globes and remarked to my cat, who was seated next to me during the show, that Nicole had finally found a cut, color and style that was young and fresh and flattering and why couldn’t she always wear her hair that way. My cat quite agreed. We are both aggrieved by what Nicole is sportin’ hair-wise in these photos.

  • It is a beautiful dress and it would look great on one of those Fanning girls. I don’t much care for it on a woman.

  • Zippypie

Oh….this is a no.  The dress is too precious, she went too literally retro with the shoes and the severe hair and I’m sorry, a woman in her 40’s who smiles has smile lines and there are none to be found anywhere.  That is scary.  C’mon, girl.  Give up the juice!

And someone give her some Visine.  Her eyes are so incredibly bloodshot mine are hurting in sympathy pangs.

  • librarygrrl64

Neck down, lovely, although I prefer the gold version, Neck up, scary as shit. What a shame.

  • Annabelle Archer

That next to last pic is the stuff of nightmares.

You know, deep down, she may be a fun gal, but you’d never know it from her clothes.  It’s not that they are boring, it’s that they are so frigid.

  • Rebecca Jay

Is Keith Urban EVER going to change up that silly peeking-thru-the-curtains hairstyle?

His head looks like a half-split coconut.

  • G,TNYD. And I hate the hair.

  • This dress is beyond gorgeous, but it doesn’t suit her colouring. The gold colour would have been better on her.

  • Well, now I’m just scared. It’s really time for an intervention.

    • BrooklynBomber

It’s funny you say that because I was thinking: shouldn’t somebody, a close friend or something, tell her? I mean, if you had a good friend who was mainlining botox or collagen or whatever it is, and looked the way it’s looking on her, would you tell her? It would be awkward to say the least.

  • MarinaCat

I really dislike the little-girl hairstyles she seems so fond of.

  • Trisha26

Would love to have seen her in the gold version as on the model. Her hair is way too severe – botox or not that’s some swath of forehead! Hate the shoes – why not a gold/light green (hard to say but some sequins look green) metallic?

  • LambeeBaby

Holy Shit Sticks her face is totally starched.

  • melanie0866

Hairdo is aging her;  she looks like Barbie.

  • Louise Bryan

Is it just me or am I seeing a lot of Elie Saab Couture?  I think her hair looks weird, and the dress seems like more of a Fanning girls thing.

  • margaret meyers

She’s got so much filler in that upper lip she can’t even pull it down over her porcelain veneers.

  • warnerave

    woman it’s not your dress!

  • guest2visits

It’s a beautiful dress; but it’s all so prim and proper looking. She looks harsh with the hair and makeup; if she had a messy, more
relaxed and in the face hair style, and the shoes were more fun, less strict; and the face less ‘intense’ – this would work better.

  • I can’t get the “Shirley Temple” image out of my head…all she needs is a pair of little white socks.

  • GorgeousThings

Not just the Botox, but the lip injections. And that hair! OMG, it’s tragic, like, driving over a cliff tragic.

The other tragedy is the orange fake bake her husband is sporting. Good god, people, do you even own a mirror? And glasses???

  • JaneDC

    Very very very bad hair.

  • meebs

    That dress is gorgeous .

  • For laffs I googled images of her over the years and the change is kinda sad. She’d genetically superior to 90% of white women in the world and I just don’t get it.  She’d doing stuff to her face that she shouldn’t even think about for another 15 years given her gene pool.

I thought that Kidman had decided to stop using Botox, but that completely unlined forehead does not look natural to me.  Please, Nicole, take a look at Helen Mirren to see that deciding to live with a few lines is not the end of the world for a woman as she ages.

I wish she would stop with the botox, etc….She was so beautiful and then she started messing with her face! Its so disappointing. She looks so weird and plastic, it makes everything she wears look bad IMHO.

She looks SO MUCH better here:

  • ccm800

JM&J her face is severe! She’d make a great psycho school marm or Orphan home House Mother. Sje’s skeery. The two of them are tackytown

  • The original gold was better and her original face was better too. She looks like a bad Barbie in this.

  • bertkeeter

Honey, let the hair down! YIKES!

  • bertkeeter

Dear, it’s time for ride in a convertable on a winding Monte Carlo road… now!

  • quiltrx

It’s a great dress, very Grace indeed (she’s one of my idols, fashion- and beauty-wise)…but I don’t think that’s the right color for her.

And I’m frightened of her from the nose up.  Looks like a porcelain mask of alarm, about to crack at any moment.

  • That pulled back hairstyle does her NO favors–it really accentuates her large & prominent brow.  Even though the movie “Bewitched” was a bust, she looked awfully cute in those Samantha Stevens hairstyles with a flip and bangs.  And the dress color can only be described as blah.

  • Her hair is terrible! It makes her look like she’s a bobble-head.

  • Stunning dress! No patience with what she’s doing to her face.  Her doctor should be ashamed, and she needs to get a grip.  A few wrinkles are okay, honey, way better than this… frightening.

All I could think was “GAH, her FACE”

  • tereliz

I would love this dress on me, but my hair is darker and my skin slightly less peachy. I don’t know, but I think the champagne would have been better for her. Hair is okay, but that’s a lot of forehead going on.

  • bluefish

Looks like she’s back to mucking up her face with procedures.  Grace Kelly wouldn’t have been caught dead in this dress.  Love the earrings though.

  • EXACTLY what I was thinking as I was scrolling down.  WTF?  I mean, how wrinkly could she BE?  She’s vampire-pale and always has been so sun damage hasn’t been a factor.  She looks very surprised in the first picture.

  • ChelseaNH

Oh, Botox.  I was just assuming her hair was too tight.

  • allcapsERINN

I have deep horizontal wrinkles across my forehead and I’m only 40. My forehead made me look about a decade older. There’s no wrinkle cream in the world that could fix them. Before Botox (and a tiny bit of injectables in those grooves), I never wanted to leave the house. I cried with relief the first time I saw my face without those horrible lines across it. It wasn’t a vanity thing – it had gotten to a psychologically crippling “I hate my face” kind of thing. I know people can take Botox way too far, but I wish people would stop slamming it or stigmatizing it. I feel like mine has to be a dirty secret or something.

  • Great earrings.

  • rjeujune

Oh, is that Botox? I’ve been wondering what the misguided woman did to her face for months now. I know the pressure to have a face lift, botox or whatever must be immense on actresses over 40, but man! Don’t they see what they look like, compared to women who age a little more naturally, like Sally Field or Helen Mirren?

  • Nonnah

I’m also not a fan of this hair color.  She’s been sporting it for a while and I just don’t think it’s flattering.

  • Candigirl1968

…As has her love of lip fillers.  Sigh.
The hair just makes the facial adjustments look more stark, and I’m not feeling the shoes.
I think I’m going to hate the Princess Grace drag.  Double sigh.

  • kathrineb

Not the right dress for her. She really does look surprised all the time. Hair colour-wise I really wish she would go with a red, rather than this nothing blonde shade.

  • What dress?  Her forehead is scaring me!

  • Styling over kill.
