I don’t know if it’s her weird pose or the dress, but she looks very odd here.

    •  In one picture I got a creepy idea that her head was on backwards!

      •  Exactly what I thought.  I looks like she’s been upholstered and her head put back the wrong way round.  Plus, she looks short and squat as could be in that dress.

        • Vickiefantastico

You put the nail on the head! Exactly!

          • I thought my computer was compressing things weirdly at first…i thought she couldn’t look so short/squat!

        • The dress is too big for her. The sleeves are too loose, the hem way too long. She looks like a little girl in her mother’s clothes.

She should have pulled her hair up, too. With it down, it makes her neck look weirdly short in the front and totally ruins the effect in the back.

    • kikisayshi

I think that’s a whole lotta dress for such a small gal. Too much volume or something. It’s like she’s drowning in it.

    • She’s trying to pose “tits and ass” that I’m worried she may end up with back problems.

  • Paigealicious

Out. Christmas is over. The neckline also makes it look like she’s wearing it backwards…

  • BazoDee

    Ahhh the “turn around fug”
I wondered why this was posted -she isn’t that big of a name and the dress isn’t memorable one way or the other -and then I saw the back. It took a very “meh” dress and made it OUT!

  • EverybodysStarling

Yay, christmas ballerina Barbie. The front looks like it should be the back and the back looks like it should have been erased from the sketch first of all.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

The back is unnecessary – but I kind of love this look overall.

  • annrr

Unflattering dress, that didn’t even look good on the model. That dress was made for Barbie and nobody else, that dress is giving her Barbie Arms

  • schadenfreudelicious

    a 4.0 from the Russian judge…..

  • hmariec19

She is way too teeny for that dress. It looks like it’s swallowing her.

  • Maybe a thinner velvet (or velour) would have helped?
    It’s too top heavy.

    • Kristin McNamara

      The crushed velvet is ATROCIOUS.

  • mhleta

She needs a petite version…of another dress. It works on the model, but probably no one else on the planet. Mena is too tiny for this much volume and you can’t just do beach girl hair with a frock like this. I can’t find a single good thing about this on her. Maybe the color of the bottom. Otherwise, make it go away.

  • Out. With the altered proportions it appears as if she is playing dress up. On the model the sleeves are 3/4 length and the skirt is knee length – not wonderful but so much better than Mena’s too big and too long version.

  • Vlasta Bubinka

    Floppy tutu fart
    crush’ed velvet extrudes head
    lace panels laugh hard

  • MilaXX

That top and her pose make it look like her torso is on backwards like Goldie Hawn in Death Becomes Her.
She fails at wearing a difficult dress badly. This dress requires Cate or Tilda to pull off.

  • FoxInSocks

That first picture is unsettling, I think because of the collar? It looks like someone flipped her torso backwards then snapped her arms back on. *shudder*

  • Maddict

OMG!  She looks like her head is on backwards, like Meryl Streep in “Death Becomes Her”!  C.R.E.E.P.Y.

  • BrooklynBomber

    Edie Adams Christmas Special.

    • alyce1213

Bless you for remembering Edie Adams.

      • BrooklynBomber

        And you, too!

  • barbarienne

    Half-Snuggie, half-tutu. Awful.

  • MissMariRose

Girl, that’s not your Christmas dress.

  • As everyone else notes, the first wrong thing with this look is that it looks like she’s wearing it backwards.  Even the belt buckle is in the back!  The second thing is, the back, which is awful.  The third thing is the cheesy fabric choices for both top and skirt.  Then there’s the scraggly hair and the too-long hemline.  YUCK.

    Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln……..

  • alyce1213

This is from the same collection as Miss U’s (Olivia Culpo’s) gown last month.
This dress, however, is clunky and unflattering on Mena. The length is wrong, and not helped here by the high angle at which she was photographed. It looks like it’s on backwards, like maybe the deep V should be in front, the way the Miss U gown plunged.
    That is not couture-worthy hair.

  • LLuL

I like the idea, but this is just not flattering.

  • roverrun

Interestingly enough, that’s what I wear when I go to Carls Jr.

  • snarkykitten

I’d like to know what Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr has to do with couture…

  • crash1212

I don’t entirely hate the dress, although I could easily do without the lace insets in the back – BUT – it’s way too much dress for this itty bitty woman. I kind of see where she was going with this, she just didn’t get there.

  • Tamara Hogan

I’m reminded of that scene in “Death Becomes Her,” where Meryl Streep breaks her neck and has to twist her head so it’s facing the right way again?

  • PastryGoddess

That collar is not helping things.

I like the dress since it is winter and people should dress like it, but its an odd look

  • Annabelle Archer

Does her head turn a complete 360 or just 180?

  • EEKstl

Hate the lace inserts, but overall the proportions are way off.  I think this is a Tall Girl Dress, but at the very least the skirt should have been shortened to the model’s length.

  • I just can’t get behind velvet; it looks so cheap when photographed in high light, as Ms. Suvari so kindly demonstrates for us. Love the skirt; if the top was in the same material, this could work.

  • Out, out, a thousand times out.

  • If they’d just left the bateau neckline instead of adding the higher panel at the front of the neck, this would be gorgeous. But it isn’t.

  • E. D.

She’s too short (and short-waisted) for this.

  • kschwarting

The fit on the top is horrendous.  However, if forced to be positive, her face looks good.

  • PhillipWilde

How many Valentine’s Day teddy bears had to die to make that bodice?

    • guest2visits

      Hits the mark!

  • Little_Olive

This is going to be rude but… the top makes her look like a hen made out of velvet.

Beautiful dress, though. On a giraffe.

    • Little_Olive

      And minus the back detail.

  • Jennifer Coleman

Too much dress for her. It’s like a Barbie dress on a Dawn doll with her head on backwards(if that analogy didn’t age me nothing will!)

  • Dot

She is far, far too petite for this dress, which actually looks rather lovely on the statuesque model. It looks as though Mena is swimming in that bulky bodice.

  • Joyce VG

    HA! She’s a nutter.

  • SugarSnap108

No, no, no.  This dress requires a model body.  And maybe a completely different bodice.

  • l_c_ann

From the front, it looks as if she’s wearing it backwards.

The arms are cut as if they should be switched and the neck is cut so high that her neck doesn’t seem to sit right on her body.

  • Stubenville

A long sleeve velvet top with lace inserts is sending a schizophrenic message. It’s cold! No, it’s warm! I said COLD!!!

And yea, what y’all said about the proportions making her look like a munchkin. Fire her gays.

  • MattCooper27

She’s a pretty girl but this is making her look as if she’s the little teapot “short and stout” sporting a designer tea cozy.

  • To pull off this look, she would need to be taller and broad shouldered.  Instead it looks like she’s wearing a backwards shirt…and the fabrics are not flattering. Big miss.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Vi vill begin show in five minute. Hold horse. Rest of bend must arrive with accordion or I no can do Pennsylvenya Polka.

  • PrunellaV

Honey, you’re too damned short to wear this outfit.

  • marilyn

She is petite and this is too much dress for her.  Color is good, though.

  • if this fit better i’d like it.  the top is too..loose?

  • MarissaLG

Couture and Carls Jr just don’t mix.

  • Judy_J

Don’t know who she is, but that dress makes her look dumpy.

  • wawawah

    How does this happen????

  • guest2visits

The thumbnail pic is deceptive; it’s a great color for her but thats about it.  She looks ready to put her hands in a muff and go
skating around the rink ala 40s colorized movie.  The top is bulky and square, the skirt is massive, the back has those odd cutouts.
The dress is terrible for her but she’s pretty and the shoes are fab.

  • She’s adorable and all…but she needs longer legs for this!

  • Ack, proportions!

  • Trisha26

The bodice looks like it’s on backwards – it’s actually freaking me out, her head looks turned around 180 – creepy!. The skirt is too long (but not on the model). The skirt is too full & makes Mena (and the model!) look thick-waisted.

    • terpsichory

My thoughts excatly! That’s straight out of Death Becomes Her. That scene still creeps me out.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Holy crap, does that dress look odd on her!

  • LesYeuxHiboux

It looks better in softer light and it’s a bit long on her, but I actually like the general effect. Until she turns around and shows her lace rash.

  • nannypoo

This is so laughable that I wish we could hear what Tom and Lorenzo have to say about it.

  • Tara Reid looks fantastic! Did she bathe?

  • sweetsadness

    She’s a hunchfront!

  • quiltrx

In that first picture she looks like she either has the dress or her body on backwards. (shudders)  The dress is a good theory but very bad execution.

  • frankystein123

What a lovely face, but the proportion of the dress is all wrong here. At first I thought she was a midget.

  • ccm800

    tops on backwards!

  • R. L.

I nominate this for a worst dress of the year award.  AWFUL.

  • kaycem

i have no words for the waist up, but i love the skirt.  wish it were with a little white tee, but nonetheless: love.  she should’ve hemmed it so it hits her where it hits the model, however…

  • Lilak

Whoa … that’s one fancy little fireplug.

  • formerlyAnon

Why? Oh lord knows. Switch the depth of color above and below the waist, and it’d work.

  • Beautiful young woman, interesting dress, but it doesn’t work together.  I think she is too short for the dress.

  • Valerie Jones

Now, if she had only added white pencil pants tucked into her ankle straps and put a bag on her head, we’d have been all, like, “Korean Vogue!”

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

She is beautiful but she’s too short for the dress.  It looks like she put on the dress backwards… I now see that someone else wrote something similar.  Truly, it seems the dress is wearing her.  I know that’s a hackneyed phrased but it’s all that comes to mind.

  • jennsilentcrow

I think you need a much longer torso to pull this off. Plus some better makeup and hair. Not unlike everyone else…My immediate reaction was that she looked exactly like when one of my daughters put her barbies clothing on backwards.
