All together pretty polished and put together. Nothing particularly jaw dropping but she still looks quote gorgeous. Love the pop of color with the clutch.

  • I’m currently watching the first season of American Horror Story, and she is freaking me out.

    • mhleta

I couldn’t take it. Had to bag out after 4 eps. That was some DARK shit!

      • TieDye64

I couldn’t take season 2. Some really nasty shit went down and it was way more than I could handle.

    • Inspector_Gidget

      Best crazy bitch ghost ever!

  • Annabelle Archer

First thought : Her makeup is stunning! Love it in every way.
Second thought : It’s those fucking DTM shoes again! Did David’s Bridal send a pair to every pair of feet in Hollywood?!?!?

    • Dot

Yes, times a thousand on David’s Bridal. Nearly all the bridesmaids in my sister-in-law’s bridal party wore shoes every bit as ugly (more so, actually) as these. And every single one of them was either barefoot or wearing tacky plastic flip-flops no less than two hours in to the reception.

    • Alyssa

I had the same two thoughts, in the same order!!!

  • Judy_J

    Very nice!

  • Call me Bee

Love this from head to toe.  Beautiful make-up, dress and shoes.  Love that the purple clutch brings out the little bit of lavender in the embellishment.  Charming.

  • Deedles

You know how when you are a bridesmaid and they bride tells you that she chose items you could easily wear again? Yeah, that.

    • Introspective

snort. i so told my bridesmaids that.

kate’s doing nothing revolutionary here. she’s presentable. kinda twee if you ask me. but producing no major reactions from me.

      • pdxmcollie

It seems like the shorter hem on the skirt alters the proportions. As a result, it does look a bit twee.

      • 3boysful

         We all did.

It was a mistake to lose the colllar–that’s what gave this dress some oomph.  It’s now just eh to me.

Also, never wear shoes that are the same color as your legs.

      • Kristin McNamara

haha “snort” because it was true?? Or because it was utterly false and you KNEW it?! 😉

      • denas silberstein

twee for NY but sophisticated for DC.

  • S_Swift

    Easter dress.

  • Can we collect all pairs of these Brian Atwood shoes and burn them in a huge bonfire?

    • Janet B

Pretty girl in a pretty dress.Yes, burn the shoes

  • Elizabeth Silverstein

Pretty! But she needs better shoes.

  • mhleta

Eff the shoes, but she looks lovely and proper otherwise.

    • kschwarting

Exactly.  It’s not going to set the world on fire, but the dress is very pretty and her face/hair look good.  Those shoes are nasty clodhoppers, though.

    • Tatiana Luján

The shoes and the yellow pannel of the back.
But she looks so put together, clean, calm and her face looks so pretty that I almost didn’t want to say anything bad about her look.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

The stripper shoes aside, the dress is pretty and so is she. But these two pretty things do not look pretty when they’re together!

  • gabbilevy

I wish she’d worn the dress as it went down the runway. The collar takes it from Easter brunch to slightly-edgy. The shoes should die in the flames of a million bonfires.

    • zuzu

I’m amazed at how much less twee that collar makes it.  You’d think it would be more twee, but there’s some kind of anti-twee alchemy at work.

  • anne.landre

    She knows it’s January, right?

  • belfebe

I like everything, except the Payless shoes.  She looks beautiful.

  • KUTE!

  • appliquer

Really cute – but it is still winter, isn’t it?

  • pookiesmom

    Oh, this is gorgeous!

  • MilaXX

Very pretty look. I’m not  a fan of the shoe, but it works with the dress. I wish the bag was a lighter shade because I feel ut’s a bit harsh against all that paleness.

    • MissAmynae

      Agreed all around.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Dull as dishwater and twee as f***.

  • there has never been, nor will there ever be, an attractive peach satin shoe.

  • Very pretty, but perhaps not seasonally appropriate. Not sure what is going on at the back of the top; it could be a trick of the lighting, but the back panel of the dress seems to be a different color than the rest of the dress. Still, I like it overall.

  • I would love this to wear to a spring wedding. I, however, would wear silver shoes.

    • l_c_ann

I would have killed to have this dress decades ago.  The work is exquisite and the colors flatter her.

  • Imasewsure

It’s very pretty but so freaking dull on her that I am falling asleep… resting on pretty, dear… resting on pretty

  • kimmeister

I think she looks lovely.  Hair and makeup are soft and pretty and mitigate the crazy face she sometimes does.  The ring’s a little too matchy but that’s just a side point.

  • crash1212

Very pretty, ladylike dress. I wish she had been as adventurous in her shoe choice as the model – woulda made a world of difference. She’s really very pretty, isn’t she? Perfect makeup and I like the hair. Not loving the clutch – seems everybody is carrying some version of it.

  • It’s boring without the collar.  Sorry, but I love a good dickie peep!

  • MissAmynae

So damn pretty, and thank jeebus that her hair is up!  She’s one of the few ladies out there that seems to know when to wear hair up vs. defaulting to mermaid/cocker spaniel hair.

I like the shoes with this. In person, they look like they would more of a rose-gold rather than peachy. Satin photographs weird. They look like they fit, and its a lovely shape on her feet and ankles.

  • Pretty, but I think it’d be more interesting on a dark-skinned woman. I bet Gabrielle Union could make it a WERQ.

  • Very cute dress, HORRIBLE shoes.

  • It is an odd dress, but I really like it.

  • I love everything except the ugly bridesmaid shoes. That dress is crazy flattering and her hair and make-up are perfection!

  • Cute. Reminds me of the Marc Jacobs/LV spring floral lace dresses from a little while back. Very soft and pretty. Enough to let me ignore the bridesmaid shoes (I feel like satin only works on a tiny percentage of shoe styles, and I don’t think I’d include a platform sandal). The purse is a perfect punctuation, I think. She should have picked up that yellowish green in the dress and upped the saturation for her shoes, too. The matchy ring is kind of silly, though.

  • Completely colorless.

  • E. D.

    Enough with the stripper shoes!!

  • Pretty, love the clutch, KILL THE SHOES WITH FIRE.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

So pretty.  But can you imagine wearing satin shoes more than one time?  Because they’re gonna get splashed on or dirty or or or … and that will be the end of that.

  • Ugh. Attack of those ugly champagne satin shoes AGAIN. I can’t handle it.

  • Bridesmaid shoes.

  • Trisha26

Pretty face, pretty dress, pop of color bag and slutty shoes. Sad.

    • Lilak

Sad because the shoes aren’t nearly in the same league as the rest of the look….and because they’re the wrong color+design+material for the rest of the look….But saddest of all, they actively ruin an otherwise scrumptious look.

  • nannypoo

I love this dress, and I love it on her. OK, so the shoes are bad, but otherwise she looks beautiful.

  • ThaliaMenninger

    Verra nice.

  • kikisayshi

    Beautiful makeup, pretty dress.

  • Very, very cute, but the hair could use a little oomph.

  • quiltrx

I can’t with the frankendress.  It’s okay otherwise.  I think the collar really added something to this in the model look.

    And those shoes…

  • emmawilliam

Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts. Any way I will be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon. Thanks!

  • emmawilliam

Nice post.I like the way you start and then conclude your thoughts. Thanks for this information .I really appreciate your work, keep it up

  • Love this dress so much I need to own it. Hate the clutch with it though.

  • ccm800

Wow. I think this is the best Ive ever seen her look.

  • Did they hem the dress? It looks like they had some trouble with the fabric.

  • Haaaate those shoes.  The dress is a bit . . . Easter brunch at the White House?

  • LinXGUA

    Safe Safe Safe

  • alyce1213

Her makeup is beautiful, the dress is bland and the back of it is strange (yellow?), and the shoes are just hideous.

  • TippiH

I think it’s weird to wear spring dresses in January. Men wear suits with scarves and women show up in sleeveless pastel dresses. This dress seems inappropriately out of season.

  • EEKstl

Cute dress, wrong season.  Definitely should have kept it longer, right above the knee.  And now, for my final thought (Pet Peeve Alert): PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE press the hem of dresses ladystars sport on the Red Carpet.  It makes me CRAZY to see someone sporting 1,000’s of dollars worth of clothes with a hemline that looks like it was tacked up 5 minutes earlier with scotch tape (which it probably was).  Shoddy shoddy shoddy.

Kate’s version with the modified collar works nicely. Pretty-pretty.

  • libraangel

    Maybe. Just maybe.

  • shelley514

All white, light beiges, and such need to be reserved for women with color in their skin.
