  • Sobaika

Fashion alien invader! I dig it.

    • EveEve

She looks stunning!  I’m sure there’s a nice warm coat waiting for her, but still, I’m shivering just looking at how much exposed skin she’s got going on.

      • Sobaika

Right?? The UK can’t be much warmer than the East Coast of the States right now.

        • SassieCassy

im freezing just looking at her!

        •  It was -8C yesterday morning. Too cold to be out dressed like that.

    • Ha, I was thinking of how to say it kind of looks like a space-harness, and there you have it.

  • Annabelle Archer

Did they glue her hands to her hips?
Short, it’s a cute little cocktail/party dress.Full length it would have been a lovely red carpet/movie premier dress.

    • gabbilevy

Yeah, but its an Ahnold movie premier. Space invader gladiator fits.

    • formerlyAnon

I think, maybe, the constant hands-on-hips is to make sure the shoulders (of the dress) show off well and don’t droop?

    • CT14

Right? Longer would be so much better.

  • Introspective

this feels like the PR christmas store challenge collided with Star Trek: Next Generation. but somehow it still works.

    • Louise Bryan

I do think it looks like strings of Christmas lights sewn together, but I do not like this.  The kind of bat wing thing going on in the back and the length both look so off to me.  The view is better from the back, but space harness does seem like an a propos description.

  • I like, but the proportions seem a teensy bit off. Almost like she needs another inch of skirt.

    • Jecca2244

YES! Just another inch of skirt.

    • 3boysful

Agree.  Also, aren’t her sleeves a tad different from the runway look?  Or is the shoulder fit just off?

    • Jackie4g

Another 30 inches, I think. When I scrolled down, I was disappointed that the dress was short. This could have been spectacular as a full length gown.

      • DeborahJozayt

I think the fullness of the shoulders kind of warrants a full length gown to compensate.

  • Kenisha Hill Phillips

Maybe it’s just me, but the white patches don’t look intentional enough. She looks like part of her dress peeled off a very sticky seat.

    • 3boysful

From the rear, it looks like a clothing malfunction, and the silver fabric split, revealing her Spanx.

  • Alyssa Stanfield

I really like this dress, and think she’s pulling it off pretty well. Shoes are a little matchy, hair and makeup are good, but I would have loved to see a cuff bracelet with it.

  • This manages to be both too much dress, and not enough dress, at the same time. Interesting achievement, that.

    • formerlyAnon

      Heh heh heh!

    • CurbGirl

Perhaps because it reads ‘Esther Williams’?

      • formerlyAnon

         Dang, you’re absolutely right!

  • Riker’s holodeck fantasy. And boring hair.

  • sablehunter

Very pretty dress, hair and makeup, but she must have given quite the show getting out of the limo!

    • DaringMiss

Actually, you don’t have to give a show if you do it right.  Move over close to the door, knees together, use your hands  for leverage, pivot on your butt 90 degrees until your legs are outside the vehicle, lower feet to the ground and then rise using the offered hand from your chauffeur or co-star or beard boyfriend.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Or just wear a longer dress.

        • sweetestsith

Sometimes you just want to flash some leg! And hers are quite lovely, even with the skirt hitting her at a weird (and typically unflattering) spot. A couple inches would have improved this imho, but she still looks pretty great.

  • Cute, but doesn’t it look a bit too 2009?

  • Monday1900

All I can think of is a yo-yo quilt.  Don’t like that the back is plain–if you’re going with the yo-yos go all the way!

  • kimmeister

Cool dress, but I don’t think she has the right shoulders for it – this dress belongs on someone with narrow shoulders to give them a stronger line.  She already has broad shoulders, so this just makes her look top heavy, like an SUV about to roll over.

    • pdxmcollie

That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw this.

  • Am totally digging this – except the funky back of her hair.

  • xmixiex

  • amf0001

I like that her hair doesn’t hide the dress,  the dress is 3 inches too short and a smidge too tight, but otherwise works for me.  How does she sit in it? (only behind tables with drapping cloths?

  • Allison Harris

I like that she softened it up with the updo – sleek sci-fi hair would have been too much – but overall I feel like the dress is wearing her :/

  • IAmJ

She must be fuh-reezing! Interesting look, although I like the back and the sides a lot more than the front. Not crazy about the shoes.

  • It’s interesting. I agree with the white doesn’t seem intentional. And it makes her look boob-less.

  • Judy_J

Looks like it should be longer dress…the short length is awkward.

  • kipper

Was she at a Star Trek convention ?

  • Kate4queen

The proportions look slightly off as if it is a tad short, otherwise, she has the bod for it. 🙂

    • SaoirseLee

I think the little armpit wings seem to broaden the dress (and her ribcage) and throw off the proportions.

  • filmcricket

I don’t care for those shoes, and this “nude” or non-existent pedicure trend can be over yesterday, as far as I’m concerned. It just looks really unfinished in photos. Dress is pretty funky, although I wouldn’t want to sit down in it, even if I did have a pair of stems as great as hers.

  • MilaXX

Not loving this. It far too cold to be showing that much skin and the dress itself is oddly shaped. It looks like the head of a king cobra snake, and her shoes are too small.

    • It looks like the head of a king cobra snake

  • I’m not into it. It’s TOO “alien from outer space.” I don’t like how bulky the top and the back of the top are.

  • I didn’t know the Lady Sif was visiting Midgard.

  • This is a PR dress where the contest ran out of jewels for the bedazzler. Horrific.

  • Hate the shoes.

  • SugarSnap108

The skirt needs to be longer to balance the heavy, busy top.  But I’m pretty sure I still wouldn’t like it.

  • In_Stitches

I’m struggling to find the words to us to describe the weird construction of this dress…the straps that come down her back from the shoulder are opaque in Jaime’s version, which, from the front, add to her silhouette giving her the illusion of a very bulky torso.  The model’s back straps are transparent so, while you can still see them from the front, you can tell that they aren’t a part of her body-they’re merely the straps.  That minor change killed it.  Plus, with those shoulders, this is not an arms-at-your-hip pose kind of dress.

So close, but so far away.

  • mhleta

Oh, good. I was just looking ideas for a classroom auction project. And can we start a fund or something to get shoes that actually fit for these poor deprived girls? The TLo Foundation for Starlets with Gapping Heels and Dangling Toes. Slogan: “If the shoe doesn’t fit, DON’T FUCKING WEAR IT!”

  • I think that dress would be better suited to one of the Mara sisters.

  • formerlyAnon

Cool shoulders/bodice (but is she standing like that because she has to to keep the shoulders of the dress from drooping? If so, deduct points.), GREAT hair, interesting fabric, rather unsure about that white, unadorned panel in back – are the shiny encrustations painful to sit on?  – and for my tastes it’s an inch or three too short.

  • Those are some serious 80s shoulders, and not in a good way. Not sure why anyone wants to be shaped like a triangle.

  • Hetha Innis

Editorial uterus dress. Yet she’s working the shit out of it.

  • Did they run out of sequins? Not liking the empty white patch in the back, though if there were more of them, it might have worked.

  • SewingSiren

Ticky tacky sticky on fake sequins. At least that’s what it looks like from the bleachers.

  • Valerie Jones

I was wondering who ran off with my Knit Wit and all that metallic yarn.

  • Imasewsure

Wow I think this is awful but it looks ok from the side…. the cut of the dress is bizarre unless you are going for linebacker shoulders and disco drag…

  • TSkot

    Hideous dress from every angle.

  • ojosazules

The white panel in the back is extremely unfortunate. And that’s the least of it.

  • Love the dress, although an inch longer would’ve been perfect.  But why the Payless shoes?

  • another_laura

Star Trek Glamourpuss – I love it!

  • BrooklynBomber

Terrible. That dress should be shot.  *

    * Just the dress. No sentient beings were harmed in the writing of this statement.

  • jw_ny

looks like they ran out of the applique at her butt.

whatever you do Jamie, don’t turn around….oops, too late…

  • It looks like a dress from the Project Runway Christmas store challenge that unfortunately ran out of garland in the rear. That said, except for said rear, there’s something in the shape of the dress I really like. In a solid black and with an inch or two more length it could be a great LBD.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

I do not like it, Sam I Am.

  • Good idea, bad execution. The white panel in the back makes it look cheap, and the short hem makes it look tacky. Make this just above the knee, with the silver/gold/whatever all around to the back, and this could be KILLA.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Oh, please.  Enough with the gyno dresses already!  And whatever happened to sleeves?!

  • m0r0

Great on the runway bad or “normal” human being.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Who do I make the check out to?  (This will be tax deductible, right?)

  • Lilak

Rear view just gave me an MGM/Esther Williams flashback.
And what TLo said about Rossum’s blue number being a ‘standing up’ dress?  Well.Though who can call this a dress without laughing?   😉

  • Kimmu

When the Lady Sif lowers herself to wear Midgardian fashion, she goes hard. I like the weird sci fi vibe of it, though I do think it needed to be just a smidge longer.

I still can’t believe she chipped 11 vertebrae and was up and filming in a month.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Saw the first pic and thought, Jesus, that’s a lot of dress! Then scrolled down and saw it wasn’t.  She’s fierce enough to bring off a statement look, but this dress is just half baked and weird.

  • ew

  • Snailstsichr

    Someone be-dazzled Lilu.

  • EEKstl

Beautiful woman with a killer bod who needs to fire her gays.

  • ThaliaMenninger

It looks a dress somebody made for the Cheap Christmas Trash competition on PR. Somebody quickly auf’d.

  • Kristy Evans

I like it A LOT, but it makes her shoulders look really broad. I also wish she had a stronger lip. But I love her, so she’s a WINNA.

  • Miranda Neville

    Star Trek.

  • Sadly, this just looks tacky, cheap and out of season to me.  OUT!

  • too wide in the shoulders. weird. and the shoes. >.<

  • l_c_ann

Betty Grabel in her famous swimsuit poster showed only a little bit more leg, in the same pose as the last picture.
Dress needs to be longer for her major movie premier. As is, it’s top heavy and silly.

  • bertkeeter

  • Counselor Troi at a mixer.

  • marilyn

  • Martha Deutsch

Payless shoes. Everything else is great.

  • Woah, that dress makes her shoulders look tremendously wide and top-heavy. Or maybe it’s just her holding her arms the way she is.

  • Looks like she has a sales tag hanging from her armpit, 3rd pic from bottom.

  • quiltrx

I like it!  And the styling is soft enough to keep it from looking too harsh.

  • Not a good look, she does not really have a great back and a great back is really not too much about how much a person weighs.  I think it’s about carriage, posture and skin tone.

I like the dress and it certainly fits here well, my only quibble is the all too obvious “look at me standing and posing on the red carpet for your approval” stance.  It just looks so forced and slightly douchey.

  • CT14

I don’t like the white patches. On the sides it looks like she forgot to snip off the tags.

It would look better if it were longer.

  • mmc2315

Oh. I really don’t like it.  Too short, shoulders too wide & exaggerated, plus a halter dress thrown in there too.  Nay, people, nay.

  • Vlasta Bubinka

Not feelin’ the unembellished white section on the skirt. I guess that makes it easier to sit*, but it looks like she farted the rest off.

    * except it would still be uncomfortable because there’s plenty of folderol on the sides.

  • librarygrrl64

I like it but wish it were an inch or two longer to balance out her gams and the high heels.
