The “opening night of my star turn on Broadway” outfit is a particular subset among many in the public appearance wardrobe of a star. The trick is to not appear too glamorous, yet not show up looking so slovenly you’re giving the impression you don’t give a shit. The best manages a sort of Hollywood version of the New York City intellectual look. As such, this is not a bad try by Miss Scarlett at all.

It’s got a bit of a beatnik vibe to it, but it looks well put together and it flatters her. She could do worse. We’re not super-crazy about the earrings (although incongruous jewelry was kind of a beatnik hallmark, so kudos to her stylist for knowing her fashion history) , but we really love the top. We just wish she’d stop trying to make that Rosie the Riveter hair work for her. It’s not your ‘do, dear.
What do y’all think?
