Freida Pinto in Cue

Posted on January 16, 2013

Since we featured her making a rare (and near-literal) misstep the other day, we figured we’d do her a solid since she’s back to cute.

Freida Pinto attends the BAFTA Los Angeles 2013 Awards Season Tea Party in a Cue dress by Indian designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna paired with a Roger Vivier clutch and Rupert Sanderson sandals.

All is forgiven with those shoes dear.

She’s apparently having a beaded dress moment. Second in a row for her. It’s pretty, but we’re not in love with the shape. And that clutch really doesn’t go. Still, the look’s a whole hell of a sight better than those Payless bridesmaid shoes she was sporting the other day.

I actually really like this beaded dress compared to the one from a couple of days ago.  Graphic and I like the A-line.  Love the clutch and pop of color. The shoes rock and she looks happy.  This is a beautiful Freida.

    • charlotte

Can I have the mismatched clutch?

    • Synnamin

I adore the clutch with the dress. They’re both strong patterns, and the clutch is a nod to the dress while giving it a pop of color.

I like the clutch. I think it’s cute, and I know it doesn’t really correlate to the outfit, but I don’t think it fights, either. And not only are those shoes kick-ass, they also fit her feet, unlike those from the other day, which were both ugly and huge on her feet.

    • Sobaika

Pretty, sort of messy-chic (the hair, easy dress, light makeup). They’re a very cute couple.

      • eowyn_of_rohan

I love, love, love that they’re still together.  They started dating in early ’09, I think.  So together 3 years?  That’s like ten years in celebrity time.

    • FrayedMachine

I love the clutch and the shoes but I am really not crazy about the dress. It doesn’t seem to hit her properly.

      • MoHub

I think it may be a tad shortwaisted, but I’ll let that pass since it’s so dang cute.

    • Annabelle Archer

      oooohhhh those shoes!
Really not enjoying that dress.  It optically illusions her breasts away.

      • kimmeister

Agreed – it also seems to have swallowed up her waist.

      • Qitkat

Does it ever. And it seems we’re seeing more dresses lately that do this.

    • MilaXX

I would like the bag if it was a solid color. Also Dev looks spectacularly bad here.

      • decormaven

True! If your lady is going to take the time to look smashing on the RC, you could spend a little time spiffing up as well, sir. It looks like he’s got on a loaner jacket they dispense at finer restaurants when the clientele doesn’t meet the dress code.

      • Introspective

i hate that men get to phone it in all the time. shes going to an RC event, and he seems to be going to starbucks to do a little work on the weekend.

        • AnaRoW

I don’t think he phoned it in at all. I think he tried (as he always does) but just came up with an ugly combination.

    • gabbilevy

You know, this is a rare time when I love the accessories but think the misstep was the dress. The shape is really unflattering, but the shoes are fierce and the clutch is fun. Don’t love whatever’s going on with her bangs.

    • MoHub

She has redeemed herself. And it’s so nice to see shoes without platform soles.

    • thecitysleeps

I love this whole outfit,  complete with off center clutch.

    • kimmeister

Love the shoes!  They’re pretty high and her beau is still towering over her.

    • tereliz

First, I think Dev and I are wearing the same pants. It’s a burgundy corduroy kind of day. Second, I love that neckline on Freida. It’s young, fun, and the shoes compliment it perfectly. I’m not 100% sold on the bag, but I think they go together just fine.

    • IAmJ

I LOVE those shoes! And they’re an adorable couple.

    • Imasewsure

I love this even with the weird shape and the anti-seasonality of it all. It doesn’t distract from her beauty like so much of what she wears

    • Karen Maslowski

Is it really beaded? Or is that a print? Could be either.

    • Monabel

I bet the dress looks lovely when she moves. A nice change from the too-tight schmattes we see most of the time.

    • Judy_J

Shoes are super cute.  The dress, however, is very unflattering.

    • PrunellaV

With the weather we’ve been having lately, I can’t look at that outfit without thinking anything but BRRRRR.

    • Sara__B

I’d call this a case of “girl, that is not your dress”. The shape of the neckline and armholes paired with the design do not flatter the gorgeous Ms. Pinto.

      • Little_Olive

        Thank you, yes.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

Love the shoes, color scheme, and boyfriend.

    • mjude

      the dress is adorable

    • Judy_S

I love this on her. I like the bright geometric clutch against the b/w geometric dress–charming! Her companion is the mismatch, I would say–he looks pretty drab and scruffy beside her.

    • OrigamiRose

Awww I covet those shoes, even though there are a bit low for me.

      She looks smashing.

    • Cathy S

I think the whole thing looks great. Dev’s clothes need some work, though.

    • SewingSiren

She looks very pretty. He looks a mess.

I love that clutch. I would kill someone for it.

    • butterflysunita

Love the pattern on that dress.  And by two Indian designers I wasn’t familiar with, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.  I looked up more of their work, which was interesting.

    • http://twitter.com/Elizabethann1 Elizabeth Denton

They really are the cutest couple. Love his pants.

    • ankali

Cute shoes, childish clutch, boring dress. I honestly prefer the look from the other day, even with the Payless shoes that were 2 sizes too large for her.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

It’s a little big on her, but that’s the only problem I have with this look. It’s adorable and those shoes…WANT!

    • pookiesmom

This is cute but it’s not terribly flattering on her. Wheeeennnnn will she get back on the big screen so I can gawk at her acting abilities in addition to her clothing?

    • H2olovngrl

      Pairs division?

    • CeeQ

I’m liking all of it: the shoes, the bag, the dress, the man candy. All. Love.
Nice to have you back, Freida =)

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Is this Cue as in Australian mid-range workwear?!

    • Stubenville

It would have been great with a solid clutch.

    • Qitkat

The clutch is the best part.

      • Stubenville

You don’t mind the patterns competing? It bugs me.

        • Qitkat

Maybe a tiny bit, but I then I like Mary Katrantzou and Peter Pilotto ;-)
and Mondo, at least the original version

    • warnerave

she needs to take a shower and Not go out minutes after waking up..jeezz..

    • TAGinMO

I love the shoes too, but holy hell is that dress unflattering. She’s just a little slip of a thing, and the pattern seems to widen her in all the wrong places.

    • bingo

too bad the toolbox boyfriend is dressed like he’s out to grab chili dogs for dinner instead of going to an event with Freida.

    • nannypoo

It’s too big, it’s not flattering, and I don’t like the multi-penis thing at crotch level.

    • Anniebet

I do like the dress and love the shoes. Cute clutch for another outfit. What I don’t quite get is from the neck up. She might as well be wearing jeans and a tea shirt with that sloppy hair and way too casual makeup.

    • Carrieanno

If my kids weren’t adults, I’d sell at least one if necessary for those shoes.

    • SugarSnap108

The dress is setting off my vertigo.  But I covet those shoes!

    • http://twitter.com/Eovaai Eovaai

I don’t love the dress or the clutch but this is a vast improvement.

    • guest2visits

So pretty. Just needs a more fitted waist, I imagine not the easiest thing to do with a beaded fabric.

    • AuntieAnonny

I know he’s not wearing anything special, but this is the second time this week that you didn’t acknowledge the poor guy’s existence. You do know that he’s an actor, right? I don’t know why it’s even bothering me.

Anyway, the clutch totally goes with that dress.

    • Trisha26

It’s cute but seems way too casual. Not to mention that it was probably 55 degrees when this photo was taken.

    • quiltrx

This is a cute dress–but again, I don’t think these really high necks are her friend.

    • kathrineb

I think the dress is cute… They have to be so careful with the placement of prints…at least the plus shape the print is forming is not directly on the crotch.

    • jorinde

      but now it’s the hair!

    • mhleta

      Righteous. Sinners take note.

    • bluefish

I’m happy to see so much gorgeous Indian design and workmanship out there.  Love the clutch and the shoes.  She looks lovely and he looks mighty cute too.

    • allcapsERINN

      LOVE that clutch!!

    • formerlyAnon

Love the dress. Not so much the clutch. Agnostic on the shoes. (They bring to mind too strongly champagne blondes with dark pink mani-pedis – possibly smoking Kools – for me to really like them.  Clearly, it’s a personal problem.)

    • librarygrrl64

The clutch should have been a solid color, two colors at most. LOVE the shoes!

    • veronkimo

Can you not see the hair she’s sporting! I don’t know how you all can hate the “cocker spaniel” and not hate this! That hair is sooo unflattering!
