I love this. The style, the fit, the belt, the hair, everything is just right.

      • 3boysful

Although the dress is doing the heavy lifting, this is a WERQ from me!  She looks divine.  I’m not sure how much you could add to this dress before tipping over the “too much” line.

      • tmchale

I don’t like the hole in the back. It’s awkwardly shaped.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/AOBSJV6HLYYU7YOR34YW5KOMSE Jane

From the neck down, ab/fab.  Hair and make up are very drab, and the expression on her face is strange.

      • lovelyivy

She’s been looking oddly stiff on the RC a lot lately.

        • MoHub

Yes. I was thinking that she looked very severe.

          • Fordzo

I think she’s lost some weight.  She used to have a softness to her face that has been lost as she’s lost weight.

            • amian3

I also think the blond hair is not helping at all.

            • fursa_saida

I miss her old hair color so much. She is my queen, I just want her to be a happy brunette.

    • http://www.facebook.com/D.D.D.Dino Dino Bonačić

      werq material! :D

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I love the dress, and the hair is simple as it should be, but I think maybe the make-up needs a little ‘umph’.

      • ChiKat67

Maybe a slightly stronger lip color?

    • gabbilevy

Updo was appropriate, but this one is dull. Maybe a sleek chignon. Dress is gorgeous.

    • Sobaika

Near perfection. I just wish for a teensy bit more oomph in the hair/makeup department.

    • Puck Thornton

That dress fits her like a glove. Great hemming. Love the belt. But because of the serious look, she could have gone with a pop of colour in her makeup and more dramatic hair.

    • librarygrrl64

I really like this gown on her. Maybe the jewelry could have more dramatic. But I still hate the light hair (and makeup), which really washes her out.

    • another_laura

Peplums are the work of Satan.  However, I’ll overlook it because the overall elegance of the look works so well.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

I like it, but don’t love it.  It’s puddling behind her, and I don’t like how the belt crosses the cut-out in the back and breaks up that line.

    • sablehunter

Gorgeous.  I wonder what material that is?  It almost looks cotton.

      • Karen Maslowski

From the way it drapes, I would say it’s a thin wool jersey.

    • filmcricket

Well, it fits her beautifully, that’s for sure. I’m not as familiar with different fashion houses as many of the BKs here: this is somewhat plain for McQueen, no? I think she needed showier earrings or a redder lip maybe? The belt is doing all the work here, it feels like.

    • Judy_J

      Killer belt.

    • Jackie4g

I like everything but the heavy belt. That is too dressed down and day time for the crepe dress. OK if the belt is black, but then use a lizard or a dyed snakeskin, an embossed lambskin, anything but that heavily structured leather that belongs with a skirt and sweater.

    • http://twitter.com/Bloodisea Barbora

      WERQ! Loud and clear.

    • http://profiles.google.com/luv2birdie Elana Bryan

Oooh gurlll – WERQ!  Love this.

    • samo_samo

I think she looks fantastic. The dress fits her well. I think she made the right choices with her hair and make up. Anything more elaborate would have shifted the attention away from such a great dress. Two snaps up!

      • 3boysful

I should have read down before replying above.  We said almost verbatim the same thing.

    • rloliveira

Gorgeous. I think a bolder lip would have helped along with some jewelry, but i LOVE the dress.

    • famousamy

Stronger lip and it’s a total WERQ!

    • FridaStaire

      Perfect! A bit Helmut Newton.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/DNWEFT2SVBX5T3NPMROQCT4U2U jennyv

Love it. That’s one tall, cool glass of fab right there.

    • VicksieDo

    • http://twitter.com/Alloyjane Alloy Jane

That hair is pretty sad for the dress.  Ah well.

    • appliquer

    • Don Hackett

if i see another black dress…..

      —sleah in norcal

      • alyce1213

Is it really black?  Compared to the background and the belt, which are actually BLACK BLACK, it looks lighter, like a charcoal brown or something. Maybe it’s the lighting or the fabric.

    • Nicole Little

    • shopgirl716

      gorgeous. just perfect

    • lehen

it seems a little long and unfinished at the hem…

    • Tatiana Luján

      Serving FACE!

    • http://profiles.google.com/dorothymichael Dorothy & Michael n/a

She looks spectacular.  But is there an actress/celebrity/t.v. news anchor anywhere who covers up her arms in January anymore?

      • kimmeister

I think they spend so much time working on those arms at the gym, they just want to show them off!

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Gorgeous. Simple but chic. Very elegant. I love the (looser) fit of the bodice, and I even like the peplum (I normally loathe peplums).

    • http://www.twitter.com/allforusophia AllForUSophia

      Wowza! Perfection!

    • Richard Harper

Dress:  fabulous.  Hair is good, although the color is pretty ‘meh.’  Definitely needs more face.

    • cmb123

gorgeous! love this dress, the cut, the fit, the style. Her hair could be better, and she looks a bit tired, but this is great!

    • OrigamiRose

She looks great and always gives great face.

    • http://twitter.com/delysia_lafosse Delysia LaFosse

Hair and makeup could use a lot of work, but the dress is a fantastic one for her.

    • SewingSiren

      I love peplums.

    • mhleta

      An unmitigated “Gorgeous”!

    • Imasewsure

It’s a bit mature but pretty and elegant

    • jilly_d

Nice dress, and LURV the earrings.  Probably coulda tried a little harder with the hair and makeup.

    • carpediva

      That dress is TO DIE.

    • Annabelle Archer

      Finally, a peplum I don’t hate!

      Loves her.

    • DeTrop

Wow. She looks fabulous.  Love that gown.

    • Kate4queen

      That’s beautiful. :)

    • LLuL

The leather belt is badass. Elizabeth Moss should have worked a shorter version of this instead of that leather dress she had on the other day.

    • Tamara Hogan

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

Everything except the belt is booooring.  I can’t see her shoes, but I’d bet that they’re boring, too.

    • http://twitter.com/Eovaai Eovaai

      Gorgeous. Sleek and sophisticated. WERQ!

    • ojosazules

      Sharp as hell.

    • pugluv

      Beautiful and elegant!

    • guest2visits

Really beautiful and elegant – a perfect open back as opposed to the gi-normous boxy cutouts that are everywhere now.
The back has more interest than the front though; which makes me think if she had a more dramatic lip or eye treatment this
might be even better.. however restaint has it’s own style… can’t decide.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

      Lovely woman, boring dress.

    • TieDye64

ADORE this dress on her. Hair and makeup could use some work, though.

    • MilaXX

      needs better hair and jewelery

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cortney-Dean/100002491593625 Cortney Dean

I die. More correctly, I would die for this dress.

    • RocknRollmom

Wow that is an amazing gown.  She looks great.  I want the belt.  Ok, I can no more afford that belt than I could the gown.  Ah well.  Best she has looked in a long long time.

    • EEKstl

      Perfection.  Love the back.

    • Dan_In_NYC

Let’s bow down to McQueen and Blunt for serving fierce peplum on a platter.

    • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

Damn. Blunt & McQueen, an unbeatable team!

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

She has odd coloring. Despite her immense spirit and personality, she really just plain old looks better in black and gray and dark brown. It’s so odd to say but man-o-man this is her ‘color.’

    • formerlyAnon

Awesome dress. Wish it weren’t dragging on the ground, and that the hair made more of a sleek, elegant impact. It’s sleek, but more severe than elegant.

    • minnye

I don’t see what’s so horrible about peplums- I think they can be so pretty and flattering, as long as they start at the waist & not that dumb rib-skimming shape that was trendy for a brief moment last year. ANYWAY. Ahem. Love this whole look. Miss Em rarely disappoints.

    • ccm800

someone is pulling a kidman face

      • Tatiana Luján

Oh no, I love Emily Blunt, I don’t want to see her turn into a robot.

        • ccm800

Agreed, Surely hope it is just the picture.

    • Tatiana Luján

Good peplum is so hard to find. This one is great.

    • akprincess72

    • kathrineb

She’s been dressing so well recently. I really like this!

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

WOW!  A real stunner.  Nice work, St. Alex & Emily.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

      OMG. Stunning.

    • mmc2315

      The belt makes it.

    • Alyssa Stanfield

Love this look on her! Perfect.

    • http://twitter.com/LouisaEdwards Louisa Edwards

I love her for having this thing hemmed properly.

    • Stubenville

Oh gawd, do I have to be the wet blanket here? Love the look from the front. The back looks like the zipper broke.

    • http://remedialstitcher.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

      Love it!
