Chloë Moretz in Simone Rocha

Posted on January 10, 2013

We both yelled “ATTAGIRL!” at the sight of these pics:

Chloë Moretz attends 2012 People Choice Awards in a Simone Rocha dress paired with Casadei pumps.

Simone Rocha Spring 2013 Collection/Model: Ellen Pinaffi

Adorable, no? Totally off-season but still adorable. See, our main problem with Miss Chloe, like a lot of babystarlets, is that she dresses way too old for her 15 years. Now, we imagine most non-famous 15-year-olds would consider this dress a bit on the baby side of things  – and we don’t even disagree. In thumbnails, we thought this was Kiernan Shipka, after all. But it’s such a refreshing step away from the Fashion Bitch looks she tends to favor that we can’t help but applaud the choice. She looks fresh and cute, which is how we think most starlets her age should dress. Call us old-fashioned, but we love it.

I love this, I just wish she had brushed her hair.

      • Kiltdntiltd

Yep the hair’s a right mess, but everything else is great.

      • Bethany Fairbrother

Don’t mind the hair, given the casual nature of the outfit.  Also think the make up was good.

    • EverybodysStarling

Love the color, hate the mismatched fabric in the middle.

      • Karen Maslowski

I don’t think it’s mismatched; I think it looks different because of a different color lining.

        • EverybodysStarling

No, if you look at the fifth picture, you can see the flowers cut in half. I googeled the dress, and if I’d be payin around 1000 Pound for this, I’d expect it to line up properly. In every PR episode the judges would have ranted like no tomorrow.

    • MilaXX

Someone must have sent her and Lea the same memo. She can’t resist the occasional duck lip pose, but she looks cute, young and fresh. Well done, Chloe.

      • kimmeister

I was just about the rejoice in the last of duckface from her, then I got to the middle batch of pics.  *sigh*

        • Kristin McNamara

People on here have talked before about that though, and how we think that might just be her FACE. Even in non-posed, candid pictures, her lips pout outwards like that, so she might not really have that much control over her seemingly-constant duckface.

          • Samantha Tennant

I too am tired of her always giving the duckface. I don’t think it’s her face. I mean it is, but she is making it look that way, which is ridiculous. I get what you are saying though, but in these red carpet photo ops it seems she is pouting extra hard, and it’s just not flattering. She looks amazing here! (just no more duck face please!)

    • Frank_821

She did look cute. I have to say though, the model on the runway looks ragged and horrid

      • kimmeister

The model’s hair being styled by a lawnmower doesn’t help.

      • LambeeBaby

The model could be Randy Travis’s sister. Poor kid

      • random_poster

I thought that too about the model. That hair is just terrible.

    • nannypoo

      Traffic-stopping chartreuse and duckface? No.

    • Eovaai

I love this for a teen star. Fresh and pretty is exactly what a 15-year-old should aim for.

    • Pants_are_a_must

Kiernan Shipka would’ve had a right Wintour bob with this. Because she totally HAS the making of a Fashion Bitch.

Chloe Moretz looks (mostly) adorable and not like she’s about to play Sally Bowles at all, and that is excellent.

    • Danielle Lisle

If this had been in any other color than eye-searing battery acid I would have been on board. Cute shoes, though.

    • Warrior89

eh on the dress but the shoes!!! OMG WANT WANT WANT

    • Elizabeth Denton

Love the black shoes with it.

    • SugarSnap108

I hate to speak ill of a 15-year-old, but her hair is a disaster.  The dress color is awful and, like you said, on the baby side (though that’s OK by me, since she was recently a baby).  Shoes are pretty fierce, but they seem at odds with the dress.

    • kerryev

The model looks like a seriously demented child.

      • WhiteOprah

You know, I hadn’t really even looked at the model’s face and hair, but she does resemble Chucky.

    • Stubenville

Chloë looks cute, but I’m not loving that shoe. But the model – oy. She looks like a mental patient who cut her own hair with blunt scissors.

TLo, please don’t forget to open up TLounge for your bitter kittens!

    • Beardslee

Love the dress but I think shoes that high are for women, not girls.

    • marlie

Cute dress, though I think the shoes are too severe. And whenever she does the duck face, I really, really want to smack her.

      • Cassie

Oh, I don’t mind it so much. I wish she wouldn’t do it, but she’s a teenage girl on the red carpet, so it makes sense for her to want to vamp it up. She’s having fun.

She looks adorable here, but that model is freaking me the fuck out.

        • marlie

          I hadn’t noticed the model’s crazyface before, and now I can’t un-seen it. Creepy.

    • TigerLaverada

Weird. Little girl dress and just-jumped-off-the-swingset hair combined with duckface and FM pumps. I hope she’s not headed for Lohan country in a few years. She’s giving off that vibe.

    • alyce1213

Only a girl under 16 could wear a day-glo acid green flower dress, so why not?
The shoes are all wrong for it and waaay to high for a 15-year-old.

Someone must tell her to stop the duck face before it freezes that way.

    • erinbinek

Hate the hair, hate the shoes with this dress and can’t stand the duckface.  Cute dress, though.

    •!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Given her age, I’ll totally allow for the offseason-ness.  She looks darling, and I’ll continue to hope that duckface is a passing phase.

    • libraangel

Adorable dress? yes, but can someone call hair and make-up?

    • Louise Bryan

So much prettier when she smiles than when she kissy-faces.  Beautiful color.  I sure it was warm that evening.

    • teensmom99

I think this needed different shoes but I’ll even give her the messy hair.

    • Qitkat

Well, I don’t really like it. I ought to, but, NOPE.

    • Carrieanno

She looks adorable.  The poor model, however, is just painful to look at.

    • Gabriella M

I love that color. She looks adorable.

    • Bethany Fairbrother

Love it!  She looks young and fresh.  Don’t like the lip pucker pose but when she smiles, she shines.

    • Alloy Jane

Super cute dress but the hair… It looks like she’s been on the swings for at least half an hour.  *sigh* I really do love that dress.

    • barbarienne

I think she looks adorable, and the shoes keep it from being babyish.

I’m glad that she’s not giving duckface in all of the pics.

    • MishaFoomin

Where is the battery pack that is illuminating this dress?

    • guest2visits

Totally chic and apropriate for Chloe. Very pretty. At least whoever is doing the selecting (if it’s not Chloe) has an eye for things
of beauty and style; not flat-out lewd or cracked.  When dressing her, they go for something higher up the ladder.

    • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

she looks like madonna around the eyes.

    • Susan Velazquez

It’s a cute pattern but I HATE HATE HATE that highlighter yellow color. Every designer seems to think it’s so chic but it reminds me of my highlighter and matches nothing.

    • quiltrx

SO cute.  She seems to be able to wear those colors that the rest of us mere mortals cannot.  I wish the hair were a little more under control, but that’s a minor quibble.

    • H3ff

It’s a chic little neon look, albeit more spring, but whatever. I’m happy to see Simone Rocha moving forward.

    • jw_ny

She does have a neck!  ;)

That’s a great dress for her.

    • lrober03

      Those shoes are fantastic

    • Imasewsure

Loved this when I saw it (although the news source was trashing it). I totally forgot how young she is too….love it even more now!!

    • aristida_girl

love, love, love the pumps… maybe not my choice for the dress, but still, adorable…

    • Trisha26

Dress is cute, but those shoes and her “I didn’t have time to do my hair” hair are horrible.

    • thecitysleeps

I like the dress and the neon colour.  I think it elevates it from baby dress.  And I like the shoes with it.  Very 15 year old appropriate. Still showing she’s a young woman but not going overboard.

    • decormaven

Good call for a People’s Choice show- eye-catching, fresh. The shoes are a bit too sophisticated for the look, but I guess it’s an attempt to dress it up.

    • bluefish

Very cute dress and age appropriate as you say.  Wish she’d chosen different shoes and someone should have told her that a dark red manicure doesn’t work with that frock.

    • TRSTL

Very cute dress, ick hair.  On a side note, is anyone else having problems with the website stopping internet expolrer from working?  I get about 2 minutes here and it shuts down.  Anyone else?

    • Jessica O’Connell

Dear Chloe, you have a beautiful smile. Please stop ruining your face by doing a duckface. Thanks. Your imaginary friend, Jessica

    • Ass Kicking Adviser

Ok, she looks cute but it is January right? I haven’t wandered into an alternative reality. Bright pink on Lea and chartreuse on Chloe and I’m getting confused.

    • Little_Olive

I wish the shoes had not been black. Blue, maybe.

      Hair is awful.

    • Diana Giese

LOVE the look. HATE the hair. Did she get rained on before entering the building?

    • Cathy S

      That’s just adorable.

    • Shawn EH

She was SO funny on 30Rock last night. She can go toe to toe with Alec Baldwin with ease.

    • Antonia O’Connor Donnelly

Cute and fresh, now if she could only reign in the duck lips.  Ugh.

    • marilyn

She needed different shoes.  Maybe strappy heels.  Not black.
