I want to know how to make my lips that color (I’m aware most makeup artists use no fewer than 3 products to make a starlet’s lips look great.)

    • moppet

That is, indeed, a fabulous color.

    • sweetestsith

Maybe a pretty plum base lipstick with shimmery gold lip gloss?

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

looks to me like a stain of tom ford’s black orchid or revlon’s sultry sable or mac’s desire.

      • 3boysful

         Dang–you’re impressive!

    • Looks like MAC Sequin with some kind of gloss over it.  Gorgeous indeed.

    • Robyn M

take a look at this lisa eldridge makeup video

  • Love the dress, but not the neckline. Looks droopy, somehow. Also, she could use a necklace.

    • gabbilevy

Agreed. Very pretty but a bit underdone.

    • christinewithanx

Necklace and bra, or something lifty, agreed.

      •  Definitely better bra. Her bustline just looks sad.

        • christinewithanx

It looks like mine, and I just nursed a baby for 14 months :/

  • If you want an Oscar, be one.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

      It’s method acting!

    • Little_Olive

      Too late… oh, Annie.

  • The dress is meh, but I don’t even care because that face. That makeup is perfection.

  • Sobaika

Pretty but not her very best. I keep wishing it was in a different color or having shorter/snuggier straps.

Incidentally, her left strap broke at the ceremony and Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave her his HitRecord pin to keep it together. It was cute!

  • Pants_are_a_must

Ha. My favorite thing about this outfit is how tumblr went insane when one of the straps tore during the TCAs and Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave her his stupid HitRECord button to keep it tied.

  • LLuL

She looks great, BUT I think she should reconsider going braless or using minimal support.

    • Carly Warnock

Def needs some help in the chest. So droopy.

      • sweetestsith

Agreed. Even perky girls are going to be dragged down by the sheer weight of the dress. Better (shorter & thicker) straps and good foundations would have taken this from “pretty” to “wowza”. Love the makeup, don’t mind the hair, would also like to see a splash of color in the jewelry.

        • LLuL

Yes, and Annie here is not perky and never has been. Some women just aren’t. If I were her there is no way I’d let ’em swing. Free-boobing is pretty much for A-cups, IMO.

  • filmcricket

Bit droopy in the bust area, but everything else is so stunning I give that a pass. Gorgeous.

  • Pennymac

She looks darn good here. And very aware of herself as the current “it” girl. A little dangle in those diamonds at her ears and I’d have given this a werq.

  • PeggyOC

    Of course.

  • Judy_J

She looks darn good.  Stunning dress.

  • FrayedMachine

Pretty in love with this whole look, especially in love with that lip color. My only quip is that suddenly I’m aware of how not great her posture is. I think in order to fully pull this off, she’s got to stand a little taller and with a bit more confidence.

  • love love love

  • pakapaka

    1) i want to pull the neckline up just a tiiiiiiiny bit

    2) i want to feed her a hamburger. actually, forget it; she can have the whole cow.

  • MarissaLG

This would be an amazing look on Courtney Love.

  • E. D.

    The girls need support!

  • GorgeousThings

Not a good color for her. It’s too blah

  • It would be better in a darker color

  • shirab

Fortuitous placement of the SkinnyGirl logo for this one.

  • I want to love the dress, but it’s a bit… loose(?) on her, particularly up top around the neckline. The dress itself is beautiful, and it’s a great shade of white for her. It would have been nice to add some color in the jewelry, though. Makeup looks good, but I’m not sure about the hair.

    • Spicytomato1

I was thinking how her hair is insanely flattering. I think it’s the perfect length for her features. But I’d bet she’s already growing it out…seems like many celebs like the “security” of long hair.

      •  I love her hair short, but I think the way that it’s styled here isn’t quite right. But she looks gorgeous with short hair!

  • Mary229

I like it but it reminds me a great deal of a dress she wore to the Oscars years ago.  Am I remembering this wrong?

  • AlexisPayne
  • jilly_d

those lips….i want to go to there.

  • In_Stitches

I normally love bare looks with simple dresses and minimal jewelry, but this looks a bit too simple.  Maybe some big honking emeralds in her ears?

  • Tatiana Luján

I love this, a simple, chic and flattering dress on her.

  • SewingSiren

Did they give her the Oscar yet?

  • Introspective

two words: a bra and some jewelry. they are your friends annie. they won’t keep you from the oscar. I promise.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

The neckline is a tad off, but otherwise I really like her in this dress, and her makeup is lovely.

  • Imasewsure

Love this simple elegant look although I would have raised the straps just a tad…

    •  I agree, beautiful but I want to yank the top up a bit.

  • jw_ny

  • SugarSnap108

Her face is stunning, and I really dig her hair.  But the dress is not a good color (or lack thereof) for her skin tone, and the shape is so….shapeless.  Like a nightgown with a train.

  • Deedles

Girl, you work that “I ate oatmeal paste for months and lost 25+ pounds” shizz, but in the process, it gave you sad sacks and you need support!

  • I’d love the dress more if it were a bright red. Maybe even a nice blue.

  • procrastinatrice

That neckline is just not working.  Support for the girls would have helped for sure, but the straps are too long, making the neckline droopy.

  • girliecue

There should be a rule: if you are not dripping with jewels you will never be seriously considered a Star. Now Annie, do you want that Oscar or not? Get someone to loan you at least 3 million dollars in jewels and see what happens.

  • dickylarue

Anyone else wishing they reboot The Producers on Broadway with her as Bloom & Rosie O’Donnel as Bialystock? Just me?

    • formerlyAnon

That is visually amazing! Does she (Hathaway) have the comic timing for it?

    • “The Producers” is my favorite movie of all time (the original). You, sir, have just spoken true heresy.

  • jennsilentcrow

This is where shes starts to LITERALLY turn into an oscar statue. you called it. It’s happenning.

  • MilaXX

This somehow looks a little drab on her. Bland color and too little jewelery.

  • erinbinek

    She looks soooooo tired.

  • crash1212

  • formerlyAnon

Fab. Still maintain that she wouldn’t look a fraction this good if her hair was still long.

  • MissFern

    woman!  look into bras!

    • kimmeister

Don’t just look into them, put them on your boobs!  😀

  • ankali

Effortless, in the good way. I think she looks great, and like the girl you’d want to hit the open bar with.

  • Tamara Hogan

    LOVING her hair.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I’m liking this look much better than anything she’s been doing lately.

  • mmc2315

So pretty.  I want to fix that neckline though.  Too low, making her look droopy.

  • In the spirit of Double Divas, she needs to get herself a “braw” immediately.

  • Kate4queen

I really like this on her. 🙂

  • Judy_S

I love this.  I like the neckline. Instead of droopy, I see relaxed elegance.

  • Well, it does set off her face. The dress is bland enough to let her features pop like crazy. The top just isn’t fit well enough. Drags her down. Also, I’m calling her Anne Goaway right now.

  • librarygrrl64

Sits too low on her chest (the straps should have been shortened). Not her best color.

  • She should have saved this one for Oscar night.

  • To be fair to Anne, that dress had to weigh a TON with all that gorgeous beading.  So of course it flattens down the tits a wee bit.  But honeys, this strappiness ain’t gonna really work well with undergarments/support.  That’s why it’s best left to young, skinny Anne!  I think she looks fantastic, it’s got a free flow-y vibe.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Gorgeous makeup and the dress is simple and elegant. But I can’t help thinking silver is not her color. I look at her and Procol Harum starts playing in my head!

  • Fyolette

This whole look screams 1993 to me

  • Maluca

I love the dress. But it’s doing something weird to her boobs. They look deflated?

On a side note, can’t believe Skinnygirl cocktails are at this level!

  • thecitysleeps

Gawd this is perfection to me.  She looks so beautiful and slinky and sexy.  I even like the way it hands low at the top just because it looks laid back and sexier somehow.  Perfect dress.

  • demidaemon

Obviously, she is saving the killer dresses for the big events. This is fine, but it is nothing special.

  • blondie707

Her makeup and hair look fab, but the dress washes her out and the neckline is cut too low.

  • She needs–I don’t know–a necklace or something. And her hairs needs to be more formal. Nice dress, though, Anne!

  • quiltrx

You look gorgeous, dear, but we might need some underpinnings in this one.  And we should probably take those straps up just a tad.

  • Amy

Having a flashback to 90’s Winonna Rider!

  • pookiesmom

She looks incredible. This is a WERQ for me.

  • JauntyJohn

Although it might have been a drag to carry around for the entire evening, I can’t help thinking a stole of some kind might have worked really well with this.

  • EdgarAllenPwn

It looks like a slip and her boobs look sad.

  • ccm800

She always looks so damn smug to me.

  • Rebecca Jay

    Please be over.

  • hailtree

I did the gay gasp when I saw the pic. She looks stunning!

  • guest2visits

She looks gorgeous and it’s a beautiful dress; someone already mentioned the neckline is abit low and saggy and I have to agree.

  • I LOVE this dress: simple, classic slip silhouette in a smashing fabric = perfection.

  • RzYoung

I can’t decide if it’s simple and chic or boring as hell

  • mhleta

She’s in the zone, lately. Even when they’re not so adventurous, she still looks so beautiful.

  • *facepalm*ing over the “SkinnyGirl” ads all over the place behind a star who just played a starving prostitute.
