Anne Hathaway at JFK

Posted on January 08, 2013

It seems like MONTHS since we’ve all discussed Anne Hathaway, darlings.

Haha. Psyche.

Look, we weren’t going to feature these pics because we’re quite sure you’re all sick of her but just look at her cute widdle shoes!

Anne Hathaway arrives at JFK Airport.

Charlotte Olympia ‘Cat Face’ Slipper

Kitty shoes! Adorable. Guess she really wants that Catwoman movie to happen. She was surprisingly decent in the role, so we wouldn’t mind seeing it.

We can’t really see much of the rest of the outfit, but we do like that scarf. And the tights.

Man, she sure loves that purse, doesn’t she? She sports it constantly. Girl’s gotta have a go-to bag, we suppose.

That is one of the only times wearing sunglasses at night seems to be an acceptable thing to do.

PS the scarf is great. The shoes are ridic.

    • anotherkate

Totally agree re: sunglasses, especially since I tend to look like a puffy, pale, ghost version of myself after getting off even short flights.

    • 3boysful

I need to try this.  So, it’s no makeup, huge specs and a slash of red lipstick from now on when getting off planes.

      • Pants_are_a_must

Only if you’re getting hounded by paparazzi determined to make you look like a wreck.

      • amberthehun

This was my mother’s go-to disguise when dropping me off for kindergarten!

    • barbarienne

I was thinking it must suck to have to get off a plane and walk around half-blind because you dare not be seen looking less than awesome.

  • nannypoo

I wouldn’t be caught dead in those silly shoes, but does anyone recognize the scarf? I’d buy that in a minute if I can find out where to get it.

  • siriuslover

I love that purse, I love that scarf, I like the tights, the shoes are something I’d buy for my 8-year old daughter. But still, she looks good.

  • Aww, what adorable…SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR FLATS? I’m out.

    • JasmineAM

Give me $20 and a trip to Hobby Lobby and I can make them in 30 minutes.

      • Jennifer L.

        Do you take orders? 🙂

      • SassieCassy

        send a pair my way!

    • Celandine1

Have you seen those ridiculous mouse flats from Marc Jacobs? They just won’t die. I believe they even have a gold lamé version.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Yes and each time I see them I dry heave.

  • Sobaika

Cute, but she looks like she’s freezing. What’s the point of having a ridiculous fuzzy green coat if not for moments like these?

  • The shoes belong on a 6 year old.

    •  Or an 80 year old granny.

      • She’s AT THE AIRPORT…what should she fly in? 6 inch stilettos?

        • Flats that don’t have a ridiculous cat face on them!

        •  I don’t care if she wears flats. Those flats, however, are ridiculous.

          • What’s wrong with a little bit of whimsy?

          • Oh and the fact that my avatar is Colgate the cat should not enter into it.

          • StellaZafella

             Tee-hee, (meow)

          •  be nice- if you were doing all the jetting around (aka Oscar Pole Dance) that she is- wouldn’t you want something comfy to slip in and out of? (esp the whole going thru security/shoes on/shoes off) thing…maybe she can change in the limo into some 4 inch stilletos…or boots up to her lady parts…this looks like comfy travel wear.

          • StellaZafella

I was being nice, and playful. Simply responding with a wink to John’s avatar: Colgate the cat.

          • Yeah Depot!  Colgate the Cat died last month!  You hate dead cats!  Thank you Stella for your sensitivity.

    • charlotte

Or on Taylor Swift. Who dresses like a 6 year-old.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

I am going to make a shameful confession: in my closet live a pair of ecru flats with bunnies on the toes…in a previous life I wore them on Easter Sunday as a touch of whimsy. They were much admired by the little girls at my church. I retired them before I became an object of derision or pity of those children as they, and their aesthetic, matured.

      • My dearest BBB, I can only admire such ruthless honesty.  I must step to the podium and admit that in my bygone days, (circa 1974) my very favorite pair of jeans was a pair of hip hugging, tight to the knees, wide belled jeans with an inset panel in each leg that were rainbow striped vertically, hip to hem.  I loved me them jeans.  It was a presage of things to come. (snert)

        • bitchybitchybitchy

I bet you rocked those bell bottoms.

  • Totes adorbs (may or may not be ironic…) – those are manic pixie dream girl shoes and this is not a manic pixie dream girl. But I do love her continuing to schlep the awful McCartney pleather purse around like a normal person.

    • MilaXX

at least the bag works better with the outfit.

  • Nariya

I am so happy she looks like she is having fun again, instead of Being Serious. She’s still on the verge of being intolerable at this point, but this was a step away from the edge.

  • MilaXX

I hate to give her any credit, but Taylor Swift wore those over the summer.( I think she wore both the pumps and the flats). They are indeed cute, and I have been coveting them since.

    • JasmineAM

OF COURSE Taylor Swift has these

      • formerlyAnon

I think they’re more appropriate for la Swift than Hathaway. Possibly because of age, more possibly because of my perception of which is more successful at being taken seriously.

      • MilaXX

even more OF COURSE, the pump version I saw her wearing were white.

    • kimmeister

I think they work better in flat form.

    • SassieCassy

ooo just looked them up and they are v cute!

  • thecitysleeps

I love everything.  I adore the tights and the scarf.  And the shoes.  I need those shoes.  I live in flats anyways.

  •  I have kitty shoes! I love the coat, the tights, the scarf, the whole outfit.

  • I love the look, and also that her hair is growing out.  I think she is the kind that Can pull off the bright plaids (I certainly can’t), and maybe she needs them (in cashmere, I assume) because she looks cold all the time since losing weight for the Les Miz role.

  • Astonishingly, I like the whole getup.  I wish I looked that good when arriving at JFK.  Ah, the wonders of first class……if I could only experience it.

  • Kate4queen

I have Hello Kitty slipper boots, does that count? I’d like those shoes actually!! (off to check price-big birthday coming ip this month…)
    $600… well maybe not.

  • Judy_J

Cute shoes, and perfect for airline travel (easy on, easy off when going thru security).  I like the whole look, especially the tights.

  • The fact that she has a purse that is clearly just her damn purse makes me like her more. (I’m sure she’ll be pleased.)

  • dress_up_doll

She looks kinda cute and certainly comfortable. And ooooh — love the scarf! The shoes are actually pretty adorable and whimsical. I could see adding them to my collection of unique flats.

  • MoHub

    Flats! Woo-hoo!

  • I think she looks adorable – a tall Audrey Hepburn. The kitty shoes are okay – one little touch of playfulness can’t hurt!

  • BrooklynBomber

It seems like MONTHS since we’ve all discussed Anne Hathaway, darlings.

Haha. I think I may have reached my saturation point, and I don’t even dislike her.
As for the shoes: GOSLING SHOULD’VE WORN THOSE!

  • MRC210

Love the shoes but I’d love them more without the kitty face, although I suppose that’s the whole point of them.

  • mhleta

She looks great. If anyone’s saying anything bad about this, I’m calling an Isaac, ie “I won’t hear it! I won’t!”

  • formerlyAnon

Shoes are too twee, the rest of her looks great, in large part because of hair & scarf. I think the degree to which I like her hair is a measure of how bored I am with the longish, barely shaped tresses so many women have.

    • Agreed. I’m looking forward to getting sick of the 1920s bob once Great Gatsby fever really hits.

  • AuntieAnonny

I like looking at her, she’s pretty.

It’s just that, you know, I can’t look at her when she’s looking pretty *and* saying words.

Only a few more months until this annoying pageant is over..

  • Derek_anny

Black dress doesn’t quite match your black jacket (we all know how annoying mis-matched blacks are) and you know people will be opining on your outfit?  Distract them with a gorgeous black gingham and blue scarf that covers the dress.

  • susan6

Wait….she’s either coming from or going to an airport in TIGHTS (hose, stockings, whatever the proper term).  Now I love the return of pantyhose, but that stuff is hard to wrangle in regular restrooms, let alone an airport (or even worse, airplane) restroom.  Hope it’s a short flight, Anne….

  • trisker

I am SO OVER those Charlotte Olympia flats! Appropriate wearers are 13 and under.  and what a strange color and shape for a go-to bag.   The scarf is nice because she looks good in sapphire blue.

  • I don’t know about Catwoman… I just don’t see this spinning off well.

    • I think a prequel would work – how did she get tangled up with the mob debts in the first place? It’d be a good caper movie.

  • Girl_With_a_Pearl

Oh, did she appear in a movie recently?  I hadn’t heard.

    •  just saw ‘her’ movie… take a pillow…its a looooooooooooooong movie….(if they make flicks that long they need restrooms with screens in them)

  • Jennifer L.

Aside from the outfit, can I just say how much I love the way she’s played around with her hairstyle since it was cut? There is so much pressure in Hollywood to have cocker spaniel hair, and I am appreciative of how she’s pulled off the pixie with class and verve.

  • e jerry powell

I only listened to the interview on Daily Show; I didn’t bother turning around to actually look at her on the TV.

  • dickylarue

Until she grows out that hair I’ll be referring to her as Sloan Petersen-Bueller.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I want those shoes. But they’re 600 bucks. Maybe I should buy some $20 black flats and put some geegaw on them to look like kitties.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Oh, I like that!  The next time someone tries to tell me something I don’t want to hear I will “Pull An Isaac”, lol.

  • Beth G

At least it’s an appropriately sized purse… not the huge bags they usually carry that look like they are trying to smuggle a team of sled-pulling miniature schnauzers in it.

  • editrixie

Oh! I almost bought those shoes a few months ago!

  • The worst thing about this post is that it just put a “Les Miz” earworm in my head again. No, I stand corrected. The worst thing is those insipid little shoes. I hope a dog will chew them to shreds at the first opportunity.

  • Didn’t Marc Jacobs make this same exact pair of shoes a couple years ago? I’m having deja vu.

  • MissAmynae

*ducks* i have those shoes, and unabashedly love them. that said- with the tights, they look twee as eff.  Mine go with jeans, white tank, killer scarf in the summer, and they’re purrrrfect.  Couldn’t resist.

(no, i absolutely did not pay full price. Found them on consignment for $115.)

  • SugarSnap108

She wears her sunglasses at night.  But she does look pretty darn cute here.

  • am loving that crazy scarf!

  • quiltrx

I don’t think shoes should be twee as fuck on a grown woman.  Period.

    Nice scarf, though.

  • Cat flats? So cute. WANT.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

No, no to overpriced, overly twee ballet slippers. The scarf, on the other hand, is cute.

  • Adorable! I love that scarf.

  • Rebecca Jay

I loathe flats in any form or fashion, and these are just stupid.

    Great scarf, though.

  • I have cheap, sequined kitty shoes from the juniors section. They’re like those shoes, but MORE GLITTERY! I love them SO much. Because I’m tacky.

  • glennethph

Looks like she took that blanket she was lugging around in Switzerland and cut it up for mini-lumberjack squares.

  • DeTrop

Forgetting about the fashion for a minute, what’s with that last picture?  Is she being escorted out by airport security?  It looks like he’s part of her ensemble.  A little close no?  His badge looks like it’s on her coat and her tiny smile seems to have faded.

  •  I appreciate that she’s carrying the same bag. It’s strange that celebs have a different purse every day.

  • guest2visits

The kitty slippers are abit too twee for me.  Where are some shiny killer prosthetic boots when you need them ?
This would have looked really nice with a pair of boots, or heels or anything more adult. Even Uggs. Anything.
I would save the kittens for another day. Although I can’t think when, or with what.
(last frame looks like she has 4 arms to help her multi-task through it all).

  • And go-to sunglasses. Love the tights and flats. Couldn’t pull them off myself but she’s young enough.

  • littlemac8

I’m sooo sad!  Those are the cutest shoes imaginable but not for $600.

  • I love the sunglasses, she always seems to sport such great sunglasses.

  • veronkimo

Oh sure, but if you saw Taylor Swift wearing those shoes, I’m sure you’d instantly hate them! She has, by the way, worn those shoes multiple times!

  • littlelistmaker

I have those shoes in magenta. Or something like them. They’re so freaking cute.
