That? Is not cute. Burn it! Burn it with fire!!

    • Meg0GayGuys6

After reading your post I sang, “Set. That. Dress. On FIIIIRRRRREEEEEE!!!!” To the tune of That Girl Is On Fire.

  • Ugh, that hair! It’s like a dead animal hanging from her forehead

    • Who is Alcia Keys?  By which I mean — I know who she is as a musician.  What I don’t have a good grasp on is who she is in fashion terms.  If I had to say what I thought her “look” was, I don’t think I could do it.

      • she is january jones’ fashion sister. which is to say, she is a very beautiful woman who somehow manages to look terrible on the red carpet all the time, by wearing dresses that are too harsh and “edgy”.

that being said, i dont hate this particular dress. i do hate that do.

    • Looks like Downton Abbey’s O’Brien styled her hair.

      • ClevelandburbsBeth

    • e jerry powell

And let’s face it, NOTHING she wears is going to look good with that hair drawing all the focus.

    • TheDivineMissAnn

The hair looks like a Betty Grable pin-up picture.  She’s even got the same “looking over the shoulder” pose in one of the pictures.  Slap that onto the side of an airplane!

      • It’s a very poorly done reference. Her hair just looks stringy and limp.

        • TheDivineMissAnn

           True that.

    • barbarienne

That’s what my hair looks like when I want to get it off my neck. I twist it up and stick a banana clamp on it.

Of course, I’m usually doing the dishes or changing the litterbox when I do that.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

She looks better in it than Gwyneth did in the short version. But those cutouts are awkward and blocky and flatter nobody.

    • 3boysful

And Kors calls people out for taste issues?

    • Introspective

truly, Alicia needs to stick with stuff that does not cut her up and make her look like a block. she has the same torso as I do. so I know the reasons for her mistake well.

She is not rail thin, and while not teeny, her boobs arent that big either… she, like me, doesnt have much dimension in this area, making us constantly danger of that legoland appearance that can only be saved by strategic choices in bodices that give the appearance of a smaller waist. alas, the kors, with an almost empire waist flowing from two ugly triangular cutouts, was NOT one of those choices. try again ms. keys.

      • Jennifer Coleman

Oh, Introspective – you had me at Legoland.

    • barbarienne

It’s all “My boobs, let me show you them” in the front, and “I’m going to a step class (in a skirt)” in the back.

  • Anathema_Device

In the runway shot, I LOVE the back of that other dress. I’d like this one more if it didn’t have the exposed zipper and exposed lower back. Otherwise, don’t love this, but don’t hate it. I generally don’t like cutouts, but these aren’t quite as hoochie as others I’ve seen.

    • DeborahJozayt

The back of this dress looks like a sports bra. I like the other one, also.

      • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

OMG it totally looks like a sports bra.  Why not go with the niftier back?

      • EveEve

And really, why the zipper at all?  Even with the modified back it doesn’t seem to need a zipper to get it on.  Edit, Michael, edit.

  • AceOn6

Love the dress, hate the hair.

  • Allison Woods

Based on recent outfits. dear AK needs new gays. Way too pretty and talented to be looking like this. 🙁

    • Alyssa

I completely agree! She needs someone new ASAP!

  • hmariec19

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, here is wrong. Go home and start over.

  • Diego!

Better than last time but not quite there still…

  • neeva

This comment is going to date me: the top of that dress reminds me of the Fall Out shelter symbol that was posted on all the school buildings in the 70s.

  • Is this from the same collection as the one Emily Blunt wore to the Golden Globes? I much preferred that iteration (although the gold-y colour wouldn’t work with AK’s skintone. Her hair makes me sad.

  • Elizabetta1022

She’s a beautiful woman, but the dresses she’s been wearing lately don’t suit her. This looks like something Kate Moss or Naomi Campbell would wear–to me, it looks made for someone less curvaceous and more severe. Alisia’s look, to me, is about edgy femininity, and this dress just says “edgy” to me.

  • charlotte

Hair that looks like a dog pooped on your head is never a good idea. Combining that look with a complicated dress is an even worse idea.

  • NC_Meg

I think the dress is fine, not great, but the HAIR. Why is she hanging on to that style?!

    • 3boysful

O’Brien wants her bangs returned stat.

      • Sobaika

Psh. O’Brien wishes her hair was that thick and heavy.

      • TheDivineMissAnn

Betty Grable wants her hair returned.  It’s a 40’s doo..

  • This dress doesn’t really suit her and I totally hate her hairstyle! To think that she’s so beautiful.. what a waste

  • Funkykatt

I remember those hairpieces from the 60s. All the women wore them grocery shopping in lieu of curlers.

  • MilaXX

Pretty dress. The necklace is unnecessary and the hair is so – so.

    • Sobaika

I think the necklace is the worst offender. I doesn’t belong at all.

      • MilaXX

It completely throws off the look.

  • kimmeister

She’s certainly rocking her post-baby body.  Hate the loofah on her forehead.

  • Mismarker

So, apparently Alicia has borrowed Siobhan Finneran’s wig from season 1 of Downton Abbey.

  • Zippypie

What’s with the Miss O’Brien knitting hair again?

  • teensmom99

I love the hair (may be in the minority here) and I think it looks great with this dress.  Fierce!

    • Sobaika

I don’t necessarily love it, but I think her hair looks much better than last time – less puffy and more smoothed out.

    • SassieCassy

      i like her hair too!!!

  • Annabelle Archer

Apparently she’s never met an overly complicated black dress she could say no to.  Again with the road-kill atop her head hair do?  It’s like a deja vu from Hell. Try harder dear.

  • Rand Ortega

The dress makes her look boxy. The Little Richard pompadour makes me want to jump out of something high & unforgiving. Lose the necklace, the dresses neckline is its own statement. Big earrings should have been worn.

  • Why did she wear knitting in her hair? #downton

  • alyce1213

Radiation warning (or fallout shelter?) sign.

  • warnerave

not a great look… not for her

  • mhleta

I expected to go into screaming marmoset mode when I saw the thumbnail, but I actually think she’s pulling this off quite nicely. The necklace is stupid, but she looks terrific otherwise.

  • nannypoo

The hair and the pose make me think she should be wearing a big hat with fruit.

  • Jennifer Coleman

While I don’t think the dress is horrible, she is still miles away from approaching a WERQ. And with that hair and sneer in the one photo, I can almost hear her in an Elvis mumble saying, “Lookit me in ma sexxxay dressss.”

  • Imasewsure

I don’t know what her style should be exactly, but again, this is not it!! Glad she likes it though and it makes her feel good, but….

  • Trisha26

Probably okay for the venue although I really dislike the cutouts – it looks very “sporty.” She should have worn showier earrings or cuffs like the model. The necklace is completely unnecessary.

  • Why would you wear this dress when you know the dress in the background is available? –the one with the three joined triangles in the back. Don’t know what the front looks like but it would have to be pretty ugly to overcome how pretty the back is.

  • librarygrrl64

I am usually NO fan of cutouts, but I think this looks good on her!

  • l_c_ann

    Micheal,  Michael, Michael,

Nothing says spring like matt black Jersey and doodle like cutouts.

  • wawawah

Thats an UGLY Project Runway AUFHing worthy dress! N she is starting to look like a body builder!

  • Stubenville

Just no. Heinous exposed zipper, wrong jewelry, wrong hair. And the modified back is awful.

  • cmb123

What an unflattering dress for her. And her hair is awful, just plain awful.

  • kschwarting

She has a great figure, but all those cutouts do nothing for her–and that hair has to go.

  • It’s like there’s a window into her soul.

Oh wait–it’s a window into her boobs. Never mind.

  • marilyn

Is that a dress or a costume?  Where are the beads and feathers?  Where is the 3 foot tall headdress?   The top is too busy and the cut of the dress makes her look square-ish.  It does nothing for her, and makes her look flat and square. She is a beautiful woman and should have a better dress.

  • Once again, I’m confused by the reaction to her look. I didn’t think the last one was bad, and I think she looks good here, too. I am not a huge fan of that hairdo, but I think the dress fits her well, and she looks confident and fit, with nary an unsightly bulge. What gives?

  • Tatiana Luján

The dress fits and looks great on her, but I hate the hair and the necklace.

  • She looks good but what is with the Mommie Dearest hair?  It is NOT working Alicia, give it up!

  • No.

  • MissFern

    hair dumb.  cutouts pointless.

  • kirkyo

It’s not horrible and she is selling it, which I think is helping the cause.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

This look does not flatter her shape at all, and the hair is a dis-as-tuh! Most alarming: the red carpet gremlins appear to have eaten her feet.

  • belfebe

She’s gorgeous and it’s a great dress, but not the dress for her.  She looks like a solid block in it.

  • I love her smile in these, it sells the rest of the look to me even though I’m not into it otherwise.

  • “Hmm, now where or where can I cram just one more cut-out?” MK
Must have taken her an hour to figure out where the neck hole was!
Is this it, no, is this it?
    And the back zipper…awkward.

  • Kate4queen

I think she’s too short to carry it off so the proportions look weird, but her smile is lovely. 🙂

  • CurbGirl

‘for the first time ever on PR we will use the cold war for inspiration’!

  • Airkisses

    What’s with the rooster hair?

  • guest2visits

Someone just wore this, I think.   But the front is not horrid, as far as dramatic RC looks go. I hate the giant open back, it feels
graceless, without style.. What happened to the more pleasing back-opening as shown on the model ?
I also don’t think the necklace does anything for the look either.  All in all; this dress is abit much for her.

  • More cutouts!  Ack!  Plus the back looks like a sports bra.

  • prettybigkitty

Miss Thing clearly thinks she looks good.  It’s a look definitely.  But not a good one.

  • decormaven

New style team, pronto. This dress does nothing for her figure, and that hair is not working. She is capable of much, much more.

  • Valerie Jones

She looks happy and confident in this, which can only mean one thing.  A husband or some other such amateur told her she looks amazing in it.  Don’t get me wrong, she is amazing, and the smile counts for everything.  But she needs a stylist.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Not a fan of the dress but it looks good on her. That ‘Lady Day’ tribute hair is not working at all.

  • Melizmatic

    Gurl, no.

That overly geometric neckline, in the words of Tiffani from Lawndale High’s fashion club, is just… so… WRONG.

  • Frank Lithium

    No. Hip. At. All.
