What a budget conscious dear.  I’ve seen her wear this dress, gosh, it must be 20 times now.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

She’s re-gifting her wardrobe to herself for the holidays!

  • http://smalldog.wordpress.com/ C.

    Of course.

    • Little_Olive

      I was gonna say.

I now regret saying I liked the bangs. I am over them now. And her. I cannot take all that daintyness.

      • gabbilevy

I was going to say, they’re less offensive to me today than usual. Maybe. I’m talking myself out of liking them, though.

      • Cautia

Daintyness! That is the word I’ve been looking for to describe her. ‘I cannot take all that daintyness’ <– exactly. Everytime I see her I feel like she's trying to get her daddy to buy her a pony.

    • kikisayshi

Haha I just wrote the same thing!

    old lady shoes

  • MrsMaxPower

Blergh…she always looks like she’s about to step on top of a wedding cake.

    • Little_Olive

Or come out of a music box.

      • MrsMaxPower

That is a better analogy, but I would loathe to hear the “music” that music box would play.

        • HomeOfficeGirl

“Someday My Prince Will Come!” and when he does, we are never, ever, ever getting back together….

          • formerlyAnon

             Gold star for you!

  • http://twitter.com/Lily1129 Lily

    Of-fucking-course.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=811053804 Stacy Parker Cole

Of course, but she still looks gorgeous.

  • Sara__B

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her wear a color besides oatmeal. Pretty girl. Pretty dress. Pretty boring.

  • Nicholas

I am currently writing a screenplay in which Taylor Swift and Lea Michele switch brains.

As a result, their sartorial choices flip 180, and hijinks ensue.

    • formerlyAnon

I envision teams of EMTs required to administer first aid to their respective cadres of “people” as they (said “people”) stroke out.

      (edited for clarity)

      • Nicholas

“I need ten milligrams of twee, STAT!”

    • Introspective

so the fug girls might just call that one a freaky fug friday.

and Im so there with a big bowl of popcorn if you get this screenplay greenlit!

  • eowyn_of_rohan

Coming soon in 2013: Rumble in the Sartorial Jungle!  See Taylor Swift fight Lea Michele to see who can hold the title of “Of Course” Queen.  Only one can survive!  Will the fight be as predictable as their wardrobes?

    • Nicholas

Who will be the Queen of Course! Tickets, please!

  • homofascist

Cute shape, but the embellishments match her hair, which makes her looks like she has mange.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GFMOZFM3WT3T56EZHVZFK7UXSI Ramon

    Aaaaand… she’s back.

  • maggiemaybe

    GAAAH!!

  • Roosevelt 85

This is the same (but shortened) version worn by Cameron Diaz in 2010…

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

    Yawn.
    She’s got GIANT feet.

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

      Well, she’s like 5’11. They’re proportional.

Also, “yawn” is exactly right. She looks pretty and all but ohmigod this is so boring.

    • alyce1213

She’s very tall. If her feet weren’t big, she’d tip over.

  • formerlyAnon

Ah. Perfectly Taylor Swift, fully retreated from recent tiny toe-dips into more grown woman glam.

    She looks lovely in this.

  • schadenfreudelicious

wake me up when she wears something remotely interesting…..

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Haters gonna’ hate but I still like it. That’s a pretty dress on a pretty girl and it looks modern and fresh.

    • In_Stitches

Pretty dress on a pretty girl, for sure, but modern and fresh?  She looks like Betty Draper at a Christmas Party.  The whole thing is as stale as a fart in an attic.

    • cooperalden

Agreed.  And why wouldn’t your repeat an Oscar de la Renta?  I repeat my American Apparels all the time!

  • Judy_J

She’s so predictably perfectly Taylor Swift.  Her name has become an adjective.

  • TAGinMO

Squarely within her wheelhouse,* but it’s hard to deny she looks very pretty. Hate the booms, though.

    * – OK, yeah, that may just be pretentious-speak for “Of course.”

  • Roosevelt 85

This is the same dress that Cameron Diaz wore in 2010 Oscars…albeit shortened

  • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

I love this dress, and I can’t stand her, and it’s making my head explode.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Just like a Christmas figurine. Everything is pretty and perfect, except for the eye-gouging bangs. It looks like she borrowed her mother’s shoes, though. If her mother sits on the board of three charitable organizations, lunches at a tea room with her society gal pals, and attends polo matches when she’s feeling wild.

  • karenbttc

A Midsummer’s Night Dream meets Of Course.

  • julnyes

The dress is seasonally appropriate, but not the shoes.

  • choco

From far away, it looks like locusts are attacking her. But I mean otherwise, pretty cute look?

  • Trisha26

She’s really in a gold/tulle dress rut, isn’t she? I like the shoes but they look too casual/matchy for this dress. She never looks like she’s having a good time.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_B3CIEK7XAS3YKAAKFJFMIIKC4I Nacogdoches

I love that beautiful dress…but it would look better on a sassy brunette!

  • http://twitter.com/starrika starrika

If she wore a bright shoe, I’d love this. As it stands, it’s merely pretty. I don’t hate her like so many BKs do – I think she looks fresh and very holiday.

  • ShayShay

That dress is gorge, but TS doesn’t know how to WERQ it.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_U5LTVYHX32MGMMXR33G7TOXVR4 Magdalena Monzerrat Ontiveros

At least shes’s not using the awful red lipstick!

  • leave_Blake_alone

I want to say “of course,” but this dress is so gorgeous I don’t even really mind.

  • http://twitter.com/juliafoxtrot Julia Fox

Can we start saying “of course” for her as well?

  • http://twitter.com/juliafoxtrot Julia Fox

Despite the boring, however, I do like that dress. She always looks pretty, just so…bland.

  • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

Every time I see headshots of Taylor she looks like she’s ready to kill some one. Maybe the twee look is a put on and she’s secretly a serial killer? She could pull it off. No one would see it coming.

  • Kirsten Henry

    yawn

  • Deb_Lynn

I think Dita Von Teese would make this dress a stunner. On her ivory silk skin, and contrasting jet black hair, that gold would POP. On this girl it looks like every other typically boring thing she wears.

  • kimmeister

This dress looks like a PR candy store challenge where a designer just glued toffee onto some mesh backing.

  • Lily-Rygh

    ::yawning::

  • http://twitter.com/riosramblings Michael Rios

I think Lea Michele and Taylor Swift need to just have an ‘OF COURSE’ contest to see who can wear something predictably in line with a certain aesthetic the most.

  • bertkeeter

OSCAR has designed nine million dresses just like this over the last few decades…..boring and cheap applique. Whats with those shoes n nail color…ewwww!

  • glennethph

    GoldLeaf Barbie.

  • StellaZafella

I’m mentally switching the two gold/sheer looks between Tina Fey from earlier today and here and – It seems to me – it would be a great trade giving each of them something they’re not showing with what they have: Tina would rock this look and seem young and fresh for it and Taylor would look more grown up in what Tina’s wearing.

  • decormaven

Gosh, with all the designers throwing frocks at her, you’d think she would pick something different. Break the gold/oatmeal streak, please.

  • http://twitter.com/mhleta Martha Hicks Leta

Shhh, don’t spoil it. I love this.

  • http://twitter.com/jelenawoehr jelenawoehr

She’s in “show some skin” withdrawal because of her good-girl image, and can only bring herself to wear flesh tones.

  • teensmom99

I even like her usual look and can’t stand this.  Get rid of the bangs and bring back the curls and don’t wear hair that is dyed to match your dress.  We need some color here.

  • http://frockpaperscissors.blogspot.com/ kvlm

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Imasewsure

Would have looked great with some edgy (non-tan) shoes…. still hate the booms

  • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

That’s so Taylor, but she really looks good here.

  • RocknRollmom

I have to stop clicking on this woman’s pics as they just make me not like her more.  Do not ask for rationale explanation.  Maybe it  was the 18 year old high school boyfriend (Yes, he was a “Kennedy” but still—high school?!).  But I digress.  I don’t want to see her in any more pretty frocks.  I want to see this dress on Michelle Obamma.  I think the FLOTUS would look stunning in this and make everyone forget puny little Ms. Swift.

  • RocknRollmom

Oh and the shoes are all wrong.  Something more delicate and non platformy.

  • NCDFan

    Pretty shoes.

  • alyce1213

Gold again Tay?  I’d like this for her in a different color, and sideswept bangs maybe.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Is anyone else getting as totally bored with her as I am?

    • Snailstsichr

Getting? Some of us are beyond getting.  :)

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I really don’t think that notched neckline does anything for this dress.

  • marilyn

I like this.  The shape, the cut of the dress, the fabrics all work for her.  The shoes are great, because they don’t fight the dress for attention.

  • Jennifer Coleman

    ‘Have a SUPER Sparkly day!’

  • http://twitter.com/carnivaltenten Ten Ten

    O. Ver. HER!!!!!!!!

  • warnerave

gold xmas wrapper from the 99 cents store …

  • MilaXX

And of course Taylor comes along and proves my point. She is pretty high on my irrational hate list, but Diana Argon could wear everything Taylor has on, right down to the makeup and actually achieve, that sweet, demure look she tries for. I’d probably till roll my eyes at  grown woman being called “pretty fairy princess”, but I’d have to admit she looks good.

  • kikisayshi

    Of course . . .
Oh wait, is that just reserved for Lea Michele?

  • Jacqueline Wessel

I think she looks pretty good here…love the dress.

  • guest2visits

Love it – I think she looks beautiful, even if it’s something she’s done before.  With her frame and good looks she could easily
wear lots of different designers – that editorial she did recently was very cool.

  • demidaemon

    BLARGHHHHHH!

  • SewingSiren

I’m only slightly disappointed that the dress is not covered with golden butterflies, which was what I initally thought. Live golden butterflies, wouldn’t that be neat?

  • ojosazules

    Just precious.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NUZ2RGIDRXKK6ADHFPPCR6S3WI MariaM

Twee as fuck.  To quote TLo.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I like it. Though I wish her hair was up, bc that’s a whole lot of gold. And there’s something about her smile that annoys me.

  • barbarienne

JEEZUS, TAYLOR, WEAR A FUCKING COLOR. IT WON’T KILL YOU.

There needs be a TLo version of the A-Team, who will kidnap her, force her into a lovely blue gown, and throw her out of the van onto a red carpet.

  • crash1212

I think she looks beautiful. You don’t know how hard it was to type the previous sentence. I could do without the bangs, but I’ve come to accept that she’s gonna ‘bang’ forevermore.

    • formerlyAnon

She’s young. I would bet enormous sums that she thinks (or someone once told her) that the bangs help compensate for some flaw in her facial features that she hates & therefore she will hang on to them for dear life until convinced that she has options.

I know many young women who, bare face against bare face, are FAR more conventionally pretty than Taylor Swift. Every single one of them has one or more thing they *hate* about their features and which they have not yet grown out of thinking “ruins” their looks. I kept thinking that once they left high school behind they’d wise up, but so far it’s not looking like it.

  • FridaStaire

So mean! I think she looks gorgeous.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bob-Sponge/100000465550991 Bob Sponge

    So precious.

  • j_anson

Oh look, this time she matched her hair instead of her skin!

  • LuisaNL

god, she’s dull. pretty but dull. and I can’t stand the hair.

    • Claudia Fernandes

The hair reminds me that giant dolls that we push or get out the hair for doing differents hairdos…

  • Aurumgirl

It’s always the same thing with her, but yes, she does look beautiful because she’s a beautiful girl.  And the whole “little lady” look is her thing.  That’s extraordinary when you consider every other way she could have been marketed…but it’s also so boring.

  • TieDye64

At least she’s not sporting the bright red lipstick.

  • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

    BORED.

  • librarygrrl64

That’s a very pretty dress. Way to turn it into a lifeless, boring outfit. TS. :-/

  • http://hearmeintheharmony.wordpress.com/ Melanie

Can we start using “of course” for her now?  It’s always the same.

  • Sadie-Ann

If someone doesn’t stop those bangs soon she’s not going to have a face anymore. They are starting to get past booms and into parasitic space creature level.
