Kristin Chenoweth in Rafael Cennamo

Posted on December 11, 2012

There was yet another awards ceremony for Country Music people, who strike us as the most insecure people in show business, since they seem to need an awards ceremony every 3 weeks or so.

Kristin Chenoweth attends the 2012 American Country Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada in a Rafael Cennamo dress paired with Martin Katz.

Anyway, we’re not super-crazy about the bust on this gown, but we gotta give it up for Miss Kristen, who generally does a pretty good job of marrying a country aesthetic with a Hollywood one. The dress is all glam, but the semi-big hair really takes it to a honky-tonk (in a good way) place. She looks cute. And considering how tiny she is, we’re impressed that the dress fits her so well and isn’t ridiculously long on her.

She looks positively statuesque here, even though she’s not!  I like that ring.

    • I *love* that ring.

    • Kathy_Marlow

I was just thinking that somehow she looks tall, when I know she’ s a little slip of a thing.

  • alyce1213

I’d wish she’d tone it down all over — her Texas hair, fake tan, heavy eye makeup. She could use a lighter touch.
The color is nice on her, albeit predictable for a blonde, but the dress is impossibly cheap looking, like athletic polyester.

The glitter nail polish doesn’t help either.

      • decormaven

I first thought there was a vitamin deficiency or some weird nail condition.

        • ecallaw1977

It looks to me like she just ripped off acrylic nails and still has the glue and general funkiness left from that.

          • Pinup Ghoul

Argh I just had flashbacks to having acrylics taken off. It’s one of the most unsettling feelings ever!

    • susan6

Well, a country music awards show isn’t the place to tone it down….it calls for big hair and plenty of slap.  That said, I agree….I do wonder what this woman would look like if styled in a completely different, more delicate manner.

  • Rand Ortega

Love Huh! She looks terrific. The jewelry, the genre appropriate hair, the dress, all on point. She’s barely knee high to a grasshopper, to borrow from Country parlance, but here she looks positively Sigourney Weaver sized. I covet that ring.

  • YoungSally

I just worry about those veins on her forehead…’s like she’s smiling too hard.

That said….the longer dress helps her bc her boobs don’t look like they  are up under her armpits (as they are often seen to be)

    • Anathema_Device

That’s a classic over-Botoxed smile. Nicole Kidman gets crazy eyes trying to smile with her eyes b/c her brows don’t move.

    • Kristin McNamara

That’s what I was thinkin (about her boobies)… she usually has babyheads. Tiny babyheads, as the case may be, but babyheads nonetheless. Glad to see a babyheadsless dress! (That was fun to write.)

      • YoungSally

They are actually pretty big babyheads (yeah that is fun to write)….which with her short waist and overall tiny frame equals a venerable fun house of weird proportions.

  • Marjean Fieldhouse

Love her but like Sarah Jessica and Gwynneth, she needs to give up the kohl-rimmed eyes and long hair with center part and leave those looks to the chillen

  • Anathema_Device

I think she looks great. Not a fan of the fake tan and super lined eyes. The dress is great on her, and a change from her short and shiny thing.

  • I will give her major hair props.  She knows not to let her hair hang down in front and distract from her decollete`.

  • nicole seligman

personal best for miss kristin! you work that honky-tonk glamour, glinda!

  • BrooklynBomber

I like the silhouette and it fits beautifully, but the Crayola color kills it.

  • jmorino08

    Um…. no.

  • kmk05

Am I alone in liking the bust? I think the whole colour is fabulous, the fit just right, and the ring is to die for. The makeup, tan and center part are too much, though, even if I love the hair cascade!

    • Tatiana Luján

I like everything, excepf for the tan.

  • A little boobicious, but otherwise a nice dress on her. Maybe a teensy bit long though- she looks like a teen having a very good day in mommy’s closet.

  • plinkiedoodle

I love the entire look here!

  • It’s pretty, but that blue is a tad bit too bright.

  • Prolixity Julien

I’d kill for the jewelry! Not her though, she’s adorable.

  • I love her, but she’s got those bad pseudo-Vulcan veins on her foreheads. It might be time for – dare I say it?  Bangs.

  • berkeleygirl

Not crazy about that bright a blue, but the gown is impeccably fitted… My eyes immediately went to the fit of the straps around the bust.  The bodice looks molded on her, in the best way – not tight.

  • That color is outstanding but let’s face it, a person with that much unbridled enthusiasm can pull off nearly anything.

  • quiltrx

I don’t much about her, except that she usually looks odd and kind of cheap to me.  The dress is doing her no favors in those departments.

  • librarygrrl64

That color is lovely on her, and the gown fits her quite well, but I hate the hair and the ring.

  • nannypoo

OK, I’m just gonna say it. I can’t stand this perky little bitch. When you smile so hard the veins in your forehead threaten to burst you should probably take a pill and lie down. And what is she doing at a country music award show anyway? Take the night off, Kristen. We can all use the break.

    • gsk241

I’m not a fan, either.  I swear, all I can ever see are those throbbing forehead veins, and this dress just sets them off perfectly.

  • I want her to help me be popular!

  • RzYoung

Love that colour on her but that’s the shittest 9 year olds nail varnish I’ve ever seen! Seriously, did she get it free with a Happy Meal or something?

  • Nice deployment of opals – underappreciated in my opinion.

  • Cheesely

    High school cap-and-gown material

  • miagain

I love that she always has a big smile… so tired of the bored look on starlets!

Looks really good for all the stated reasons.  Now, let’s do a post on her in her “Honey Boo Boo” drag from the show. Hilarious……

  • Judy_J

I love this gown from the back.  Not crazy about the overly-structured bust.  This color is gorgeous, and perfect for her.  She done good!

  • She’s adorbs.  Her personality is what makes her style work.

  • MilaXX

agree, she looks really cute and the color is great

  • golden_valley

Love the opal ring.   But gee, give the woman a cheeseburger.  A little meat on her bones would improve that boney, sinewy look around her neck and face.

  • I just dont like they wear a corset inside out. even the dress fits her well.

  • Tracy_Flick

She looks adorable, but I think the heavy black eyeliner is really aging her.

  • If Kristen rented out her tailor to 1/10 of the folks hitting the red carpet she would never have to sing another note or act another line. Brava!

  • bellafigura1

Omigosh, she is frightening-looking. The clothing and styling is so sharp, saturated and aggressive and then she amps it up further with that firecracker personality and that megawatt smile. Too show-bizzy, too shiny! I want to adjust the picture, soften the edges.

  • neofashionista

    I love this
    One of her best looks
she must have gotten a new stylist
i used to hate how she dressed

  • That opal ring! *I DIE*

  • pdquick

Is it just me, or is that not her original nose?

  • My God ….what’s with the giant vein in the middle of her forehead

  • ccm800

She scares the hell out of me.
