Hugh Jackman in Lanvin

Posted on December 07, 2012

Hugh Jackman attends the world premiere after party for ‘Les Miserables’ in London in Lanvin.

We’re tired of grey suits and REALLY tired of black shirts and ties. And truth be told, this looks a tiny bit boxy on him, but there is no doubt that the man can fill out a suit.

Like we said: woof.

But yes, okay: neckbeard is still no; no matter how thick and manly the neck.

I want to go to there.

  • He is yummy.

  • I can’t breathe…

  • Sobaika

… Lost all train of thought. Something about clothes?

  • Critique all you want. Hot is HOT, no matter the cut of the suit. >whew<

  • He can French my revolution any day.

    • ChiliP

       *Nerd alert!*

While I’m completely on board with what you are getting at, Les Mis (or at least the climax) takes place during the June Rebellion, not the French Revolution. Just a little history lesson for the day.

      *Resumes drooling*

      • D’oh! High school was a few years (and a few drinks) ago. Thanks for setting me straight!

        • ChiliP

You are most welcome! Cheers to European history, Hugh Jackman and booze!

    • I believe you mean he can June your rebellion. But yes. I concur.

  • Sara__B

I adore Hugh Jackman, but please! Hugh! Shave your neck! You are such a fabulously handsome man, and you sing and dance, too. It will only take a few minutes to go from scruffy to perfect.

    • ankali

The neckbeard issue makes me so happy I’m not a guy. I would feel so cheated: “Wait, I still have to shave every day? I GREW A BEARD SO I WOULDN’T HAVE TO DO THAT!”

      • Until society pressures men to remove all hair south of the eyelash, I will withhold my sympathies.

24601 is the number of times I want to do something naughty with Hugh Jackman.

    • Jen

      Solid, A+ musical theatre joke.

    • OrigamiRose

But would you bring him home every time?

  • WOOF. I have NO complaints here.

    • mellbell

Maybe it’s just me, but when someone looks at a picture and says, “Woof,” I don’t immediately get that it’s a compliment. Instead I think of the scene in “Home Alone” when Kevin looks at the picture of Buzz’s, shall we say, aesthetically challenged girlfriend and says, “Woof,” as in “What a dog.”

      • Yes, this. That is why I will look at this sexy man and say ME-OWWW.

      • It’s a gay man thing.

        • mellbell

          Good to know. Thanks, guys.

        • Kristin McNamara

Oh for real?! I never knew that! TBH, I never really understood the expression because, well….. the EXACT reason melbell described up there! haha! Say melbell, you about 25 years old? I think we MAY have grown up in the same decade, girl! 🙂

        •  Oops. I was just echoing what Daddys T and Lo said. I assumed that it was the male-directed version of the catcall.

      • kimmeister

The (straight) guy on the morning radio show I listen to always uses “woof” as a way to say something is ugly, so it always takes me a second too!

      • Tapetum

Now you see, I immediately flash on Young Frankenstein and Madeleine Kahn’s reaction to the monster, which is definitely a complimentary (or more accurately, overwhelmed) “woof”.

I dreamed a dream of Hugh Jackman.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

I join you in having NO complaints whatsoever.  Mrs. Jackman is a lucky, lucky woman.

      • ClevelandburbsBeth

I love my husband very much. That said, this is exactly what I thought when gazing upon these pictures “His wife is so lucky.”

  • Thank God I’m not the only one. Grad school has ruined me.

  • ccm800

For god’s sake shave and have that waist bought in! You have hips like my granny!!!

  • RebeccaKW

He is so fine.  The jacket is little off, but the pants seem to fit well.  Wish I could see the back view…

    • DeborahJozayt

Ya! Why can’t men on the red carpet show off their backsides?!?! That’s the best way to truly view…um…..clothes! Yes, that’s the ticket!

      • Janet B

Yes, please take off the jacket and turn around so we can judge the fit of those pants.

      • RebeccaKW

The ladies do that turn and look over the shoulder move.  Men could do something so we could form a fully complete opinion of the…clothing.

        • joything

I wonder If Jackman and a couple other RC males could be persuaded to do for step-and-repeats what the Hawkeye Initiative is doing for comic book heroines.

Of course, the RC ladies would have to return the favor by putting their hands in their pockets.

  • pax540

Maybe if we rename it “neck pubes” it will gross everyone out enough that men stop sporting them?

    • joything

“Neck pubes” just grossed me out even more than I was!

  • traceyishere

Aren’t the sleeves just a tad long? Where is his cuff?

  • bellafigura1

Mmn-mmn, no.  I love the suit but the collar and tie are distractingly teeny-tiny vs. he who is big-and-manly!

  • judybrowni

I’m officially done with beards and face scrags, no less neck beards.

Hugh, we want to see your pretty face!

  • decormaven

Nice suit, but he’s looking a wee bit road weary.

  • Janet B

He really needs to wear a more colorful tie/shirt combo.

  • SpillinTea

He looks so exhausted. Here Hugh, have a nap in my bed 😉

  • JulieTy

Jacket buttoned! Hands not in pockets! Pants the proper length!

  • When will guys learn that neckbeads make their necks look stumpy and dirty?
But Hugh Jackman occupies a special place in my heart for his singing and dancing ways. I want there to be a ridiculously flamboyant Wolverine musical starring him. I imagine a kickline of lumberjacks in the background of the extravagant opening song.

    •  Oh wow! I didn’t know I wanted that too until I read what you wrote… Someone needs to get on that, STAT!

    • Melvis Velour

I just died at the thought of that opening number…well, maybe not died but has anyone noticed how warm the room is?

  • Qitkat

Hugh, I haven’t heard from you yet. That invitation is still open.

  • Melvis Velour

Mah stars ‘n garters!  It he hot in here!

  • Hubba Hubba.

  • Synnamin

    yes, please!

  • Yeah, wish he’d shave… Agree on the “woof”

  • kimmeister

The deployment of the skinny tie was wasted here, since it’s black on black.

  • sk8tfan

Dammit, he’s wearing clothes. Make that stop.

  • New desktop background.

  • guest2visits

Bleery eyed and still handsome.  I don’t mind the neckbeard, he looks clean and very together.

  • kat89

    He looks exhausted.

  • barbarienne

I am overwhelmed that in the full-on face shot his ears look totally pointy. Hugh Jackman is a changeling! Which would explain a lot, actually. Song-and-dance man, Wolverine, hotness in all guises… Far more than a mere human can achieve.

  • Louise Bryan

Of course, that is far and away the best neck beard I have seen.  Maybe it’s just the neck … and what’s above the neck … and what’s below.  *sigh*

  • GorgeousThings

Um, I love me some Hugh Jackman, but these photos make him look like he has pink-eye.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Damn, he cleans up so well.

  • Oh Hugh…

I don’t dig beards on most guys but I will for Hugh

  • Patricia Gillett

Suit’s fine. Neckbeard is killing me.

  • Handsome! And what’s wrong with neck beards? He is a regular guy, not a polished fashionista. Or at least that is the impression I get from him. Woof, indeed!

  • I’ll take it to go.

  • Disappointing. The ladies all showed up in quasi-historical gear. Surely the boys can do better then the ultimate 2012 trend?
