WERQ: Robert Pattinson in Gucci at Twilight Premiere

Posted on November 13, 2012

Gotta give it up for R Patz. This is a stunning look:

Robert Pattinson attends ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ World Premiere in a Gucci suit paired with Bally shoes.

A gorgeous, perfectly fitted suit in a highly unusual color that he’s pulling off like crazy. And his hair doesn’t look like ass! And he shaved some time in the previous 48 hours!

But you know what really stands out for us? It sounds funny, but it’s the shoes. There’ve been so many of those artfully scuffed shoes and boots on the boystars lately that it’s kind of refreshing to see a simple, classic pair of black dress shoes on the red carpet. They were the right choice. The suit’s doing enough work to capture your attention; he didn’t need some sort of goofy shoe to finish it off.

Yes, bitchy kittens; the jacket is separating quite a bit on the bottom, but that’s the style and besides, it wouldn’t gape so much if he didn’t have his hand in his pocket. We can’t hate. It’s too gorgeous a look for us to hate. You WERQ that green, boy. SNAPS of JEALOUSY.

Seriously, when are the design houses going to start gifting us? Gucci? Can you hear us? We have no shame.

  • Credit where credit is due. RPatz is WERQing it.

  • Sobaika

It’s amazing what some grooming can accomplish.

    • Kristin McNamara

First thought: “So he DOES own a razor!”
Second thought: “Okay. So THAT’S what people mean when they talk about his ‘good hair.’ ” Hadn’t seen it before now. But this looks great!

  • Mismarker

Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar.

  • poggi

Is it a sign of the apocalypse when R. Patz out-dresses his female co-stars?

    •  To be fair, they set the bar pretty low.    But, he does look fab.      Maybe now that the Shame of Twilight is passing, he’ll go back to being Cute Cedric?

      • i hope that hahahaa, but talking about his look….. OMG! he finally take a shower!!!! snaps for you R. Patz, naps for you.

  • Yeah, that suit is fabulous and for once, he’s working that prettyboy face of his properly. I never even realized he had green eyes. No complaints. Begrudging snaps up.

Robert looks fantastic!  I wouldn’t have guessed he’d be the one to bring color to the night.

  • Pants_are_a_must

Wow, someone actually took the time to make sure he looks proper and fashionable on the red carpet! True, he looks a bit miserable, but it IS a Twilight premiere, so I’m guessing that at that point, he was 75% deaf already from all the shrieks.

    • LauraWL

I looked at photos from the event (mostly bc TLO said the clothes was godawful and they hadn’t recapped anyone but K.Stew. yet) and he changed into some really grungy gross clothes immediately after the RC. *eyeroll* I think the guy isn’t even marginally attractive. But what do I know. I haven’t read a vampire novel since I was like 14.

      • Pants_are_a_must

I sincerely doubt anyone over the age of 15 who isn’t a Twi-Hard actually finds Robert Pattinson attractive anymore. 99% of the time he looks like he smells of unwashed B.O., and the 1% of the time he looks like this still doesn’t rock my boat. Oh well.

  • Another amazing suit!!

    • Love the pattern on the suit. Only for hipsters.

  • Judy_J

Great suit, and he looks like he’s bathed within recent memory.  That’s a step in the right direction.

  • agree, the dreamy green suits him

  • amaranth16

That really is a lovely shade of green.

  • Ok ……the picture of him taking a picture with a fan is really charming. He looks great.

  • pink_lady114

    He looked gorgeous tbh.

  • alyce1213

Everything works for me except the tie. I’m sure it isn’t, but it looks cheap, like a $10 tie that goes with a bus driver’s uniform (casting no aspersions on bus drivers’ uniforms). Black’s fine, but maybe it’s the fabric, or maybe a scootch too narrow.

  • lilibetp

Yeah, for once I noticed his pretty eyes and not the smashed-in nose.

  • godDAM boy cleans up good! I really had lost hope…

  • SewingSiren

Iridescent green is my favorite color.

  • allaboutthewalterbenjamins

I can’t look at his face but the stylist worked her/his butt off with the rest. Is it his personality rubbing off or is the material a tad stiff? I get that they did not want to overwork the look with going crazy on the tie but it might be interesting to see  a third color folowing the green and blue.

  • What TLo said.

  • He does look really great in that green. And it’s nice what a little ivory soap and a Mach 3 can do for a man. He doesn’t do it for me, but now I at least wouldn’t fear being overcome by funk standing next to him.

  • Re. Spect.  He looks fantastic.

  • This level of grooming is close to the face he had as his character in Cronenberg’s film Cosmopolis, a/k/a the moment he established himself as a perfect blank cypher of a model to project masculine ideals on.  What a beautiful face, what a suave suit, what classy shoes….WTF RPatz? Between his style and Stewart’s clean hair, I feel the earth is shifting on its axis.

    • RebeccaKW

Right?  How did someone manage to wash both of them, for the same event?

I’ve never found him attractive, but gotta say, best he’s ever looked IMO.

  • That suit is awesome, and he’s pulling it off amazingly. Well done.

The suit guys, THE SUIT! Color, texture, fit… love it all.

  • mmc2315

Nope.  It’s not WERQing for me.  It’s the slight sheen on an awesome color (green).  The shirt and tie color look like a mismatch.

  • Lolo Andre

He literally asked Gucci for a green suit and they made him this one.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Wow. Way to win the breakup. This is a fantastic suit, and though he was never my cuppa even as Cedric Diggory (Oliver Wood for me, please), this is him at the height of his lookin-hot abilities. Incidentally, my husband would look irresistible in this suit so if you could just send it along when you’re done, Robert dear…

  • He looks great. He and Gosling are the ones who can pull off colourful suits.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

It’s always refreshing to see a man in a well fitted suit on the RC.  You go, little Twi-Light dude.

  • RPatz and KStew finally got their water turned on at their new place!
    I kid, I kid.
But seriously, how often do you see a man in an iridescent green suit and the first thing you notice is that he looks clean?

  • pugluv

WERQ!!!!! He looks panty dropping gorgeous.  I love the green houndstooth and the slim fit of the suit; long legs, lanky body and broad shoulders make that cut look great.  He is what Gucci wants to see representing their clothes.   When looking at the posted pictures here on TLO, he stood out as the star of last nights RC.  Boy looks like a hobo in everyday wear but he oozes charisma and style and brings it home on the RC.

  • estella_nyc

    Best he’s ever looked!

  • Annabelle Archer

Really? Huh. All I got was Gumby.  Thankfully sans neck beard, but Gumby none the less.  It appears I will be in the minority on this one.  I thought that between this and KStew’s hideous dirty bra debacle it was one of the worst “couples” pairings I’ve seen in quite some time.

    • JMB_edits

I’ll join you in the minority.  Maybe it’s the camera flashes, but the material looks like that oil-cloth, shiny, picnic tablecloth stuff.  And now that’s all I see.

  • Lisa Dugan

Looks great.  I read that he asked Gucci to make this for him.

  • leave_Blake_alone

This is the best he has ever looked, and quite possibly my favorite male red carpet look of the year. WERQ!

  • MilaXX

A male WERQ I can whole heartedly cosign. For once he doesn’t look like he smells.

  • He IS werqing it, and he does look showered, so big props on that. I think, now that I’ve seen him “clean,” that it’s his eyebrows that put me off. The color? The… overgrowth? Both? Not sure.

  • fallen_ikon

For once, I understand the appeal. Wow, what a difference some grooming and a nice suit makes..

    • Agreed! He looks so freaking handsome.

    • blackbeanie

Didn’t you see him at the Cosmopolis premiere in New-York in August?  Another Gucci suit in blue grey.  He was like a God and stunned everybody.  The day after he was as amazing in a more classic suit when he opened the stock market (I hope it’s the right name) in Wall Street with director Cronenberg.  All ladies there were staring at him and taking pics.
But, in his down time, he doesn’t care about fashion, he is his hobolicious self and that’s him!

  • Michael Owens

    Impeccable turnout.

  • Blond lady fan / reporter is on frames 1 & 3. Her face – approval?

  • Yum.

  • l_c_ann

Second only to a couple of his looks as Cedric Diggery.

  • siriuslover

Wow! He looks amazing. A total WERQ. I wonder how awkward it was sitting in the premier with KStew? Wonder what he thought of her granny pants dress?

  • BeeBeauNYC

For once he looks attractive. Crazy gorgeous suit.

  • j_anson

PSA: Nobody ever HAS to give it up for RPatz. Even if he comes and stands over your bed at night and really likes the way you smell.

(Um, he does look unusually good, though. So props, usually-skeevy guy!)

  • Lilithcat

And he shaved some time in the previous 48 hours!

Yeah, about 46 1/2 hours before.

    • formerlyAnon

I can’t help wishing that it had been within the previous 8 or 10. But I know I’m out of step with the mode.

      • unbornfawn

        I’m with you.

  • twocee

I have never understood how anyone of any age could find him attractive until now.  Maybe they’re all just happy it’s FINALLY over?

  • Lattis

    Mr. Green Jeans

  • formerlyAnon

That suit seems to be doing good things for his eyes. Or maybe it’s just that his hair is not overshadowing them (in a bad way).

Nice how the patterned suit and solid tie reverse the usual way of these things.

  • Jess5628

He has a defined jaw line! Praise be.

  • Shut my mouth, that’s a great damn suit and he looks great in it.  I didn’t know he had it in him.

  • That is a killer suit.  Love the pattern of the material and I’m relieved to see he only looks 25% blitzed.

  • kimmeister

Love the color and print of the suit.  Not convinced that the shirt goes with it.

  • Tracy_Flick

    He won the Masters!

  • He’s so gorgeous.  Too bad he’s half my age.  LOL.

  • BazoDee

I can’t believe I’m about to type/say this -but YUM! Man i run so hot and cold on this guy. The last time he looked good to me was that editorial photo thread just before the “break up” – he looks really really good here.

  • wow.  he’s CLEAN.

  • Even the judgmental blonde fan seems to like it!

  • LOVE. IT. That is a TREMENDOUS color suit, and he’s really pulling it off!

Amazing what a shower, a shave (well, a couple of days ago, anyway), and a hairbrush can do!

  • margaret meyers

He is one velvet collar away from looking like a Teddy Boy, circa 1958.

  • BitterOldQueen

I realize I’m alone here, but just…ick. The color, the fit, the shine, the gap, the hair, the squinty eyes–none of the parts are working for him. The shoes ARE good though…

    • Dot

You’re not alone. I don’t at all get the tween fixation on this guy.

    • nannypoo

I agree. He looks like an elf.

  • oohsparkley!

Boy cleans up niiiice! Love the color.

  • TieDye64

Wow, can you imagine seeing that suit up close and personal? It really is stunning.

  • Pete Campbell covets that suit.

  • The cut of these hipster suits reminds me of the Beatles in the early sixties.

  • B_C_J

The fit of this suit is terrific. The pants are hemmed at the proper length. The jacket is closed and yet the lapels are sitting quietly on his chest. The pants are slim but not skin tight.  It’s a home run.  I am not crazy about the fabric but for evening wear and for the venue, I am perfectly comfortable with the choice. His hair looks great now that it’s a bit shorter. He has done a very nice job.

  • granddelusion

The jacket gaps even when he has his hands out of his pocket. I don’t think that bottom button would fasten even if he wanted it too. I have to agree that the clothes look great, and looks mostly clean. Why does he still look douchey to me?

  • I do not like this man. I do not find him attractive and I do not like how he always looks like he is two seconds away from passing out. However, I love – I mean lu-uh-uhvvv – this suit on him. It’s fantastic. I agree about the shoes. I am wowed and wish that there were more men who could – or would at least try – to pull off these types of looks without being goofy and acting ridiculous (I’m talking to you Robert Downey Jr.).

  • Anathema_Device

He totally deserves the WERQ here. He looks great.  That is an amazing suit that would be hard for other male stars to pull off without looking clownish. Good to know he has it in him.

  • Zippypie

Wow, he looks great in that suit. Love the color. Still needs to shave but BRAVO for washing his hair!!!  Now would it kill him to smile?  But then again, he has to look at his gf dressed as a prostitute on the red carpet, so I don’t exactly blame his scowl.

  • SorayaS

You’re so right about the shoes- I’d almost forgotten how lovely polished dress shoes can look.

  • wow! he actually designed his suit.  ”Reps for the Italian label — confirm that RPattz picked out the fabric for the made to order
two-button Monaco suit, which he paired with a pale grey dress shirt and
    black satin tie.”  http://popstyle.ew.com/2012/11/13/breaking-dawn-2-premiere-robert-pattinson-designed-his-suit-kellan-lutz-talked-underwear/

  • Toto Maya

Still gross from the neck up, looks unwashed. He’d better not be making that gorge suit smell bad.

nah, he looks good. props to the greenpeace workers who washed his hair.

  • I loved this unreservedly at first, but then I thought leprechaun for a split second and now it’s all I can see.

    ETA: I still LOVE it.

  • librarygrrl64

Great suit, it fits him well, and he’s groomed. What more can we ask for?

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Really?   A WERQ because his hair is SORTOF groomed?  And because his chin is SORTOF shaved?  Humpf.

    • How did you miss the three paragraphs on his suit and shoes?

      • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I concur with the rest.  Perhaps it’s my irrational hatred getting in the way.

  • Best I have ever seen him look. Well done, RPattz.

  • up with pod people

He looks like the King of the aliens from V.

  • AnnPopovic

I’m in total agreement. He’s yucky, the story’s yucky THEIR story’s yucky and it’s all forgiven with the lasting memory of this SUIT.  It’s YUMMY!  I really just can’t stand him but if I saw him walk by I would find an excuse to reach out and touch that fabric. “Excuse me, did you drop that … uhhh…garbage can, there?” with my hand on his arm.
‘Cause I would SO want to touch that fabric!

  • quiltrx

So the BOY gets to wear a color???  What kind of alternate universe was this RC in????

And see…he took it back to the Cedric side of things, and looks pretty cute.

  • Oh god look at that pattern on the suit as well.

And he looks clean! And polished! And groomed!

He looks amazing no doubt about that

  • DesertDweller79

Best he’s ever looked!  I love the color on him.

This has been a very surprising Twilight red carpet so far.

  • pookiesmom

I find him super gross, but that suit is awesome.

  • I wonder if a shaven face for the premier was a contractual obligation.

  • poohbah1

No, goddamit, with GREEN, then you can wear BROWN shoes. BLACK shoes with WHITE, GREY AND BLACK.

    • Why?

      • poohbah1

It’s one of the core rules of style for a man. Black, white and grey suits get black shoes; any other colour, it’s brown shoes. The exceptions: regimental dress (scarlet tunics get black shoes) and Scottish formal (green kilts get black shoes too). Beau Brummel himself invented these rules.

        Of course, it’s all nonsense.

        •  Exactly: it’s all nonsense. And it hasn’t been a rule for some time now.

  • It pains me to say so, but he looks good. And I want that green suit.

  • RzYoung

  • guest2visits

Such a different fabric; and he werqs it perfectly. Bonus points for this one, Robert.

  • Jeebus, it’s amazing what a shower and shave can do.  The color of the suit is really bringing out the color of his eyes.  He should def. give this photo to anyone who works for him as a stylist and say, “more of this, please.”

  • LinXGUA

    Wow he looks spectacular!

  • Damn. He walked around undermining his sexpot image, badmouthing his franchise and all round not giving a shit for years, because they couldn’t fire him anyway. But now that sweet freedom is in sight, the boy is putting in the work.

  • warnerave

    i covet that suit!

  • TSkot

Overall look is great, but I hate those skinny ties and shirt collars.

  • Trisha26

He looks like a smarmy leprechaun.

  • well, i know it’s kinda late to comment, but i just read something interesting in Entertainment Weekly:

“I designed it myself,” Pattinson crowed when complimented on his slick Gucci ensemble. “I had a dream about an emerald green houndstooth suit, so I got one made.” Reps for the Italian label — which created costumes worn by the actor in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis— confirm that RPattz picked out the fabric for the made to order two-button Monaco suit, which he paired with a pale grey dress shirt and black satin tie.

  • Matt

For truth: You gave him work b/c he shaved the neckbeard?

  • Cedric… where is your Hufflepuff pride.. running around in a Slytherine green suit *scoff* even if you do look awfully man-pretty in it.

  • incubusman421

Gucci and Bally AT THE SAME DAMN TIME?!
