It looks like those loops are actually growing out of her foot. Ick.

If the shoes weren’t the same color as her skin, they wouldn’t give that impression. Bad color choice on the designer’s part, IMO.

    • Oh ew. I wish you hadn’t planted that thought in my head. Terrible hair too btw.

      •  Those were the two things that jumped out at me too – terrible hair, terrible shoes. Nice enough dress although I don’t think red is her colour.

    • Candigirl1968

The shoes are awful, as is the bone straight hair.

  • Ugh, I despise hair curtains.

  • schadenfreudelicious

she has always been a favorite of mine, but she needs to push her hair out of her face…shoes are loathsome, she appears to have some flesh colored growth on the top of her feet….

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Uglies shoes EVER.  Hair is not doing her any favors.  The dress is cute and looks good on her – but there’s so much wrong you can hardley notice.

  • fugly shoes.

  • Nice enough dress. Not accessorized correctly. Needs jewelry and better shoes.

    • That, and change of hairstyle and some lipstick with color.

  • gabbilevy

Dress = not terrible. Everything else = pretty terrible.

  • marilyn

IK think she needs some makeup.  She is too underdone.  She also needs to do something with her hair.  She looks like she stayed too late at the beach and did not have time to do anything with it.  The shoes and the purse do nothing for the dress.  They go with the theme (other than the dress) of so understated that she should not be there.

    • kschwarting

Sadly, I think she’s wearing makeup, so this is a Girl, That’s Not Your Makeup.  It’s also not her hair–she needs a more natural, less processed look.  On the plus side, that red is nice on her.

      • 3boysful

Bingo.  Not sure that color goes with her coloring.  Curtain hair goes with nothing.  Dress a skosh too tight in the hips.  Red a great color.  Shoes, as perviously noted by all, are heinous. Needs jewelry.

        • Her hair was originally brown. Look at her pic from her early early Aussie movies.

          • 3boysful

I know.  I’m not sure she can’t be a blonde, but not this shade of blonde.

  • Sara__B

No, no! Over-ironed, center-part hair. Washed-out makeup. Weird and shiny nude shoes. A slightly-too-tight dress that needs two sleeves or no sleeves. The only thing that’s working is the red color.

  • librarygrrl64

The dress isn’t bad, but it would be more flattering if the shoulder strap were set further in, more on an angle, which wouldn’t make her/the dress look so square and boxy. I like the shape and design of the shoes, and I like a neutral/tan shoe with a red dress, but these are, of course, the dreaded patent Silly Putty shade. WHY??? The hair is doing her no favors, both the color and the flatness.

ETA Looks like I was the only one who thought the shoes were interesting. 😉 I think another color would work.

    • Pannyx

I like the shoes too. A different color would definitely be better (although, I’m not as offended by it as others appear to be)

  • Something’s wrong here, but I can’t pinpoint it. Around the shoulders? Definitely the shoes.

  • teensmom99

While I generally hate ironed hair, I think Toni looks better than ever.  And I like the shoes, too. As the great TLo say, not all beige shoes our bad-it’s only when stylists use them a s a safe fallback.

    • Pannyx

I think she looks pretty great myself.

      • I agree. Love the dress.

  • Mismarker

I can’t help but think of Muriel’s Wedding when I see Toni Collette.  What a great movie.  That being said, her hair looks like shit.

  • jw_ny

Great dress and color for her…overall looks pretty, but I’m not digging her over-straightened hair nor the color of her shoes.

  • The dress is gorgeous, and a great color for her.  The particular blonde is not the best, though. I prefer my Toni with darker hair.

  • alyce1213

I really like the dress on her, but her hair is not nice.
Saw “Hitchcock” last night.  It’s pleasant, clever, anecdotal.  Toni Collette is fine, Jessica Biel (as Vera Miles) is fine, Scarlett Johansson (as Janet Leigh) is okay, Anthony Hopkins is Anthony Hopkins good, and James D’Arcy is uncanny and brilliant as Anthony Perkins.  But Helen Mirren steals the movie, hands down.

  • hughman

    Your hair is terrible, Muriel.

  • Now THERE’S an example of how to do a beige shoe!  Very nice.  And the dress is striking, well-fitted, and a good color for her.  I would have done something other than a clutch which color matched the shoes.
I hate her hair, though–I think she’s too mature to get away with that particular style.

  • ChiKat67

When did Toni morph into 90’s Rosanne Arquette?

  • annamiklo

I think she looks good here.  Sure, skin-colored shoes and clutch, but the dress is amazing on her, and vibrant.  I think her hair looks good too.  They always frump her up in movies.  It’s nice to see her looking rather sexy and glamorous.

  • TheLaurenJean

Man, the center part is NOT her friend.

  • decormaven

I could get behind the shoe if the color wasn’t so close to her skin tone. It just kind of melts away, and makes it look like there’s some type of growth on the top of her foot. I like the dress, but the hair style is not good. Too bad- she deserves a better look.

  • Kenisha Hill Phillips

I hate the asymmetrical dresses with the single sleeve. Looks like they didn’t have time to finish the dress…

  • The shoes are HIDDY, but the rest is decent.

  • Dot

Don’t hide behind your hair, honey!

  • I don’t like her hair but she is rocking that dress and the shoes are working for me. Black would have been a little too dramatic.

  • crash1212

Love the dress and she looks great in it. The hair isn’t making me mad, but those shoes are.

  • another_laura

Those shoes should never have seen the light of day or the light of flash photography.

  • unbornfawn

It’s a great dress and looks terrific on her. Better shoes, a little lip color, something better with the hair. She had the foundation for a WERQ.

  • BrooklynBomber

I miss her. Andm damn, she looks good.

  • imakeart

I cannot see her without thinking of Muriel.

  • She should sue and burn the shoes.

  • filmcricket

I was wondering when she was going to show up at one of these. Do we suppose that a blood-red dress & flesh-coloured accessories are a deliberate choice, given the movie she’s pimping? In any case, everything from her clavicle to her knees looks great. Everything else is a “go home, try again.”

  • Imasewsure

Aniston hair doesn’t even work for Aniston… gotta be a little Fanning to make this work unfortunately..

  • formerlyAnon

Shoes are ugly. Hair is underachieving. The idea of the dress is cute but I’m not loving it on her somehow.

  • Clearly, she’s had “work.”

  • julnyes

I like the red on her and the shoes would be fine if they didn’t match her skin color.

  • WTF is up with her hair? I can’t get past it.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Shoes are hiddy.  I’m not sure I love her as a blonde.  And are those colored contact lenses?  Where is Toni Collette?  And who is this person in her place?

  • RzYoung

RE: the shoes, they’re like a glamorous version of what the Guinness book of records ‘longest toe nails’  would look like.

  • I think she looks beautiful. Too bad about the shoes.

  • Judy_J

I hate that limp hair, and the shoes make me cringe.  I wish the dress was complete with two sleeves.  Guess I’m feeling especially bitchy today.

  • Beardslee

Why does everyone default to blonde??  It’s so samey.

  • Jillaine13

The color and fit of the dress are great and the clutch is fine; those are the positives.  NO to the afghan hair, the style and shade make her look exhausted and a little lip color would help pull her out of the doldrums.  No to the shoes period, both style and color.  If someone had been critically honest this could have been upgraded to an attagirl in 10 minutes tops.

  • EEKstl

Brilliant actress, but honey: Take that hair out of your face and burn those shoes.

  • amf0001

the reddish brown eyeliner gives her druggie eyes and the pin straight hair also suggests a working girl…

  • PrunellaV

Hate the Gwyneth Paltrow hair. Hate the cheap-looking putty shoes. She looks great in that dress, though.

  • Flat-ironed hair makes her look older. 8-(
