They (she and the dress) are so over the top.  But I think they kinda go together.  I like it.  I can’t believe I’m saying that.

  • I think this is badass and magical.

    • gabbilevy

I don’t know a thing about this girl, but I’m very into her RC style.

    • Yes.

  • hughman

Honey, step away from the dark roots.

    • DeborahJozayt

Her hair isn’t even the same color of blonde. Her bangs are a totally ashy blonde compared to the Marilyn Monroe chunk underneath. The dress is beautiful except the undergarment is making like her breasts have never seen sunlight.

    • bellafigura1

Wow, I LOVE her hair.  The patchwork colors make it super cool.

  • Riahanna lookalike but not that edgy!!! Hate the foundation color on her face!

  • A. W.

I want to love it since that red is so gorge, but something is off. Her bra is slightly too light… it’s a small error that really detracts from this look. Completely wrong hair too.

    •  I don’t think that’s her bra. The runway model seems to be sporting the same thing.

    •  I think the dress has a built in bustier, which means, unless you completely reconstruct the top, inside and out, you’re stuck with the fit as is.

  • Lisa Kramp

It’s a gorgeous dress and a gorgeous color and it washes your face right out, honey. The hair looks nasty, too.

  • katchwa

Shame the nude under bit can’t be a little more seamlessly matched. Bodice is gorgeous but I’d like the skirt less meringuey, or the styling more dramatic.

  • Sobaika

I wish the undershirt matched her skin tone more closely, but I am not mad at this.

  • MilaXX

It’s like a trashy prom. Still it’s the MTV awards so a little bit of tackiness is okay.

  • susan6

Whoever this chick is (I have no clue), she would look much better with the black hair she was born with.

  • unbornfawn

At first I thought it was a bad wig sliding off of her head. Gawd, that hair is awful. Somewhere under there is a pretty girl, trying to get out.

  • This. I love this.

  • dress is amazing, hair looks like Cruella De Vil.

  • PastryGoddess

I still can’t get over that chicken fried hair, but her outfit is fantastic

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

It’s a beautiful dress, but that hair — horrible!!!  And did she put her makeup on with a trowel?!!

  • lilibetp

I wouldn’t ordinarily picture Rita Ora in Marchesa, but since it’s red it’s OTT enough, and she looks really happy to be wearing it.  I think this is the best I’ve ever seen her look.

  • Angela Hardi

    Holiday Barbie dress!

    • margaret meyers

  • Imasewsure

Awesomely fun and unexpected. Love the Cruella hair this time but will tire of it real damn quick

    • mmc2315

Yep.  I think the hair is on purpose.  Just that splash of cray-cray.

  • Lilithcat

Folies Bergere on top, Jezebel* on the bottom.

    * “You know you can’t wear red to the Olympus Ball.”

    • I was going to make a Belle Watling comment but your Jezebel quote just blew that out of the water. Brava!

  • wwilson008

I love the first and last photos. Can’t you just hear her saying, “look at me in mah party dress!” It’s kind of endearing and a nice change from the sullen moody faces you see from the younger celebs (looking at you emma roberts and kstew!)

  • It’s no use honey. Nolan isn’t going to make another Batman movie. You can’t play Harley Quin.

  • amaranth16

Dig the dress.  Sorta makes me wonder how Olivia Wilde would look in it – VERY different, but she’s done well with a lot of those huge dramatic looks before.

  • Trisha26

The gown is really stunning. Seems more like an Oscar/Grammy gown than MTV though.

  • alyce1213

Hate the dress.  Typical Marchesa – this time red crap falls from the sky and lands on someone wearing a gigantic red skirt.
Alright, maybe the skirt’s not so bad, but I just can’t stand Marchesa.
And those roots have got to go.

  • formerlyAnon

Her sincerely happy looking megawatt smile enables me to view the dark roots with only a tiny shudder and adumbrated flinch.

When her posture is right, this looks marvelous!  Wish she’d do the pulled taffy blonde old school (all the way to the scalp) because otherwise her hair is one of my favorite things about her look.

She needs a better makeup artist, I get that she doesn’t want a subtle look, but something about this one is just a teensy tad off – maybe it worked when her hair was dark & they haven’t changed it? Seems unlikely, but . . .

    Overall, thumbs up!

  • crash1212

Next time Georgina says that a PR entry looks “too fussy” or “has too much going on” I will laugh even louder than I do now.

  • Puck Thornton

This is not a MTV Awards gown. Also, I would have liked it better if the undergarment was closer to her skin colour. And she should have worn her hair up, because of the collar.

  • ojosazules

Not many people could pull this off. She does. Love it.

  • StephanieLovesTLo

head to toe hiddy. out. too dynasty for me.

  • belfebe

The dress is gorgeous.  Bad hair and bad makeup.  Otherwise, it would have been perfect.

  • Allison Woods

I cannot abide with that frippery on the illusion netting. It looks like some kind of a lumpy rash to me.

  • The red satin is hurting my eyes. The whole thing is hurting my eyes. Cute girl but she looks like she is playing dress up with her grandma’s old ball gown.

  • VicksieDo

A big fat princess gown like that needs hair with roots done! ick.

  • theblondette

Noooooo. Look, I know I always post about boobs here and I do occasionally think about other things, buuuut let’s be honest: her rack looks weird here, am I right? Squooshed, yet unsupported. So strange.

  • Gorgeous dress, but that two-tone hair is a little too trailer park.

  • joything

I still have no idea who Rita Ora is.  But I’m starting to like her.  A lot.  She can carry a dress like that?  Respect, with a big ol’ grin.

  • bionicgyal1

What do you mean you’re not Scarlet O’Hara? So whose curtains are those?

  • I’d say it’s too much, but there are very few occasions where Marchesa isn’t too much.   What the hell, she’s pulling it off and looks like she’s having fun.  Good for her.

  • bertkeeter

  • The deep red lip is getting old, but I supposed with this gown, it couldn’t be avoided.

  • marilyn

What is with the 2 inch roots?  She either needs to commit to this hair color, and touch it up, or change it.   I bet she is surprised how much she likes this big poufy dress!

  • oohsparkley!

    I love it.

  • jmorino08

The lining in the bodice makes her boobs look both saggy and perky at the same time. The distance between where her neck ends are her boobs appear to start does not appear to be possible given the rest of her body, but there it is. But then again, she looks like she’s having fun and that is a killer dress, even if it’s a little much for what I’m guessing is the VMA equivalent.

  • Kind of a a bit much, but she looks pleased as punch wearing it, so I can’t fault her there.

  • Seriously, though, who IS this chick?

  • Terri Devich

But, doesn’t she look happy?  That makes a world of difference – much better than the soup puss mugs so many display. IN!

  • the dress is spectacular. the hair doesnt work… if only she went for brown or black.

  • wow.  i actually love this.  *off to take own temperature*

  • sockandaphone

that first picture isn’t flattering at all but she looks pretty darn cute. Maybe she just needs to learn how to pose. It’s a bit too christmas gift for my taste (plus im no marchesa fan) but she’s working it.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

She dresses so cray, that this dress seems right in her wheelhouse. It helps that she obviously feels like a fabulous red velvet cupcake in it. That said, the liner is much too light. Were it a better match for her skin I’d be on board with the dress.

The hair and super-matchy lipstick, on the other hand…

  • PantherontheRunway

Don’t know her, but she’s one to watch for on the RC

  • Love that smile!

  • THIS is whiteboard material? this is way more interesting than half the posts which get a full write up.

but fareal tho, how much are they paying T-Lo to keep on featuring this chick? this is like her third outfit in a couple weeks and she came outta nowhere

  • TieDye64

The dress is kind of kick-ass on her somehow, but the blonde locks gotta’ go.

  • RzYoung

Marchesa is a crime against humanity

    • margaret meyers

This dress crosses the line from fabulous into hysterical territory. This is costume, not clothing.

  • decormaven

This gal is getting on the fashion radar. She needs a top-line hair stylist and MUA, stat. And if her clothing stylist is wrangling Marchesa, she/he needs to get her some A-list jewelry hookups. This level of styling demands statement pieces.

  • Gabby Barnes

The dress is gorgeous. The taffeta material at the bottom may be a bit excessive but it works so well with her hair and makeup

  • quiltrx

I still hate her hair.  I understand she’s a singer but I have no clue about her.  It’s quite a dress, and I like it (I typically am one of the few who like Marchesa gowns).

  • guest2visits

It’s a big bold dress, but I think she looks goofy in it.  I don’t like the way the harsh hair and lips and possibly skin-tone clash, and the
way the bodice is leaping out from underneath – it should have been altered in color and fit for the wearer.

  • kategs

She looks as if she is having a terrific time.  They do go together, she and the dress.

  • librarygrrl64

She loves the shiny, doesn’t she? I think this is way too much gown for her.

  • up with pod people

Fucking glorious. Would absolutely wear. Kind of want to be her.
