Olivia Wilde in Rag & Bone

Posted on November 19, 2012

Miss Olivia, we love your sassypants.

Olivia Wilde walks to the gym in the West Village, New York City.

Rag & Bone Arrow Print Legging

No, really. We do. We kinda think you should’ve tucked them into your boots, but whatevs, hon. You look cute.

We have this thing about fedoras. We kind of hate them. Go ahead. Yell at us, fedora-lovers. It’s not a style declaration or anything on our parts. Just a taste thing. They’re not to ours.

Ooh, that coat! Love it! The hat’s too jammed forward, and looks too big. Getting a Dark Helmet vibe.

Maybe the hat being jammed forward relates in some way to the fact that she can’t even walk to the gym at sunrise without being mobbed by photographers…

“Say goodbye to your two best friends… and I DON’T mean your pals in the Winnebago!”

  • SapphoPoet

Cute. I really like her coat.

I have to say, I really like her fedora, but then, I’m a hat person (a good thing, too, as I’ll be wearing them for quite some time; I have some peach fuzz growing in, but still look like I’m suffering from male pattern baldness).

  • eowyn_of_rohan

Looks like we found Carmen Sandiego.

  • Tatiana Luján

I wish I could wear fedoras. They look kind of ridiculous in my city, where the temperature is around 25° all year long.

  • Sobaika

She has an innate chicness that is bringing this all together. Very few people could look this good in a fedora and patterned leggings.

  • StellaZafella

Whenever I see a picture of a beautiful woman in a Fedora I catch myself looking behind her thinking, “Where’s Woody Allen?”

  • crash1212

What a cute outfit. Love the coat and the sassypants! Even like the fedora, although I think it’s pushed forward just a tad. Also, totally diggin’ the fact that I’m sure that’s a “statement” bag, but love the very low-key-ness of it.

  • diced

Is that really a fedora? It looks too floppy to be a fedora.

I can’t judge people on what they wear to non-events, such as the gym.

    • 3boysful

Seriously.  She looks red-carpet-ready compared to my to-the-gym look.  Not to mention that I’m usually in a minivan.  Oh, the horror.

I mean, she is pulling off arrow printed pants and a fedora. Props where they are due.

  • j_anson

Oh man, that woman is quite thin and those pants are making her look all stumpy. No. Can’t get on board with those.

  • VioletFem

Even if you hate fedoras, you have to admit she really rocks this whole look (fedora included).

  • mmc2315

I wish I could see the detailing on the coat better.  I like the whole look.

  • MilaXX

I like everything except the bag which I assume is her own, since it’s
not front and center. Still what I can see of it makes it look like a
    supermarket recycling bag.

  • amywinns

Do you mean you don’t like this hat? Or hats with a shaped crown or band detail? Because this absolutely is not a fedora. (Characterized if nothing else than by a pronounced crease through the length of the crown, and almost always a much smaller brim.) Or are you just mentioning it as a tangential topic? … Because fedoras are starting to be associated with hipsters, so if this is a generally anti-hipster statement, I’m totally on board.

  • kimmeister

Her hat is my favorite thing about her look, but I’m a hat person.  I just debuted my new teal fedora yesterday.  It’s the only fedora I’ve ever tried on in my entire life that actually fit my huge dome, so it was *required* for me to purchase it.

    • MrsMaxPower

I, too, am blessed with a huge head and I love men’s hats.  I feel like they just look extra fancy on those of us rocking some extra head room.  The reason I tend to dig fedora’s, cabbie hats, newsboy hats is because women’s sizes will usually not fit, so I have to go more masculine and I think I look fantasticals….as I’m sure you do in your teal fedora. ;)

    Shoe polish.  Get some!

  • http://twitter.com/marared Jaime

I like fedoras when they fit correctly. Too-small fedoras on big fat manheads look douchey. This? This isn’t so bad, especially if she’s trying to be relatively incognito.

  • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

I think she looks fantastic, fedora and all.  That’s a great coat.

  • Mazenderan

I thought this was a pic of Steven Tyler when I glanced at the photo on the front page.

  • Tamara Hogan

    I WANT THAT COAT.

  • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

Are saggy baggy leggings a thing now?  Adore the coat though.

  • quiltrx

Love the coat and the leggings.  I like fedoras (this isn’t exactly one unless she’s severely manipulated it), mostly because I’m such a Film Noir nut.  But this looks like a sad, too big scarecrow’s hat.

  • JaneDC

I’d rather be pelted with fedoras that see one person in a newsboy cap!

    • lalahartma

      So true.

  • lalahartma

    That’s not a fedora!

  • silaria

I love a good fedora, but that is… not one.

  • Jackie4g

Fedoras are great! They make a polished look complete. I like them with suits as well as trench coats as well as sportswear. I think they are flattering to a variety of face shapes and bone structures. I think they are easier to wear than a  beret, for example, and they can do just as effective a job of covering up bad hair. Well I love anything 30s, so for me, defending a fedora is a matter of course.

  • PaulaBerman

    What about that awesome coat?
