Missoni for Lindex Collection

Posted on November 01, 2012

Darlings, we’re just putting up these pictures, an ad campaign for Swedish fashion chain Lindex and their Missoni collection, because we ADORE Carmen and we love the clothes here.

Missoni for Lindex collection featuring models Carmen Dell’Orefice and Emily Didonato photographed by Giampaolo Sgura.

Miss Lady is not only showing up a model a third her age, she’s showing up models less than 1/10th her age. Fabulosa ad infinitum, bitches. Let that be your motto.

This campaign showed up here in Finland about a month ago!

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

This is a site, not a race. We post things we see and like whenever we feel like posting them. If you’re looking for fashion news, this isn’t the site for it. L

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NUZ2RGIDRXKK6ADHFPPCR6S3WI MariaM

It’s not where you Finnish, it’s where you start.

      • Stefanos Mantyla

         Haha! Good one! (^_^)

  • SapphoPoet

    (The clothes aren’t bad, either.)

    • MilaXX

I think I like some of the pieces better than the Target promotion, especially the footwear.

  • Pants_are_a_must

Oh my god I loooooove Carmen Dell’Orefice, and she is ROCKING this campaign.

    • Melvis Velour

      Fucking GODDESS!!!

      • TieDye64

        Amen to that!

  • Andrew Schroeder

Yeah, all I can look at is that grand dame. Faaaaaaaabulous, dahling.

  • tereliz

ha! In the last snap, the model looks like she’s taking your words personally!

    • DeborahJozayt

But she’s trying her hardest! Her cheekbones just aren’t up to snuff!

    • kimmeister

Or she’s looking in the mirror and wondering why her torso looks 10,000 miles long they way they styled her outfit.

  • http://www.facebook.com/seelebrennt Christina Diaz

that woman is the most divine thing to ever walk the earth

  • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

She’s so beautiful. The clothes are very pretty but man, the background is so busy.

    I want that wrap dress.

    • kimmeister

It’s hard to focus on the clothes when they’re so hard to distinguish from the background!

  • http://aldonsusi.blogspot.com/ Susi R

I love it! Do they ship to the US!?!

    • MilaXX

According to the site they deliver to  Sweden, Norway and the EU countries, but I bet  you could find pieces on ebay if you’re willing to pay the prices.

      • http://aldonsusi.blogspot.com/ Susi R

    • jenuwefa

Much like the Stella McCartney collection for H&M, we were told that what was on the racks the day the sale started was it, so basically you snooze, you lose.   Ebay will be your best bet.

      • http://aldonsusi.blogspot.com/ Susi R

  • jilly_d

I’ve never been a big Missoni fan, but Carmen is giving primo face here and I WANT those flower print pants.

  • http://twitter.com/tangodiva Tanya Wade

Carmen doesn’t need to keep her mouth perpetually open to model, young whippersnapper.

She just glows, flashes her all-knowing eyes, poses and gives you FACE.

    Even her decolletage looks fierce.

    • greyhoundgirl

YES!  I was just thinking that about her decolletage!  Beautiful!

  • Judy_J

Oh, Carmen!  You are that to which I aspire!

  • hughman

AH! SEIZURE ALERT! But how j’adore Carmen. Even her name is perfection.

    • tereliz

Really? I think she’s just divine, too, but her last name makes me see the word ORIFICE, which I cannot unsee. 😉

  • notdorothygale

My eyes are dancing…I want Carmen’s coat especially!

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Oh she is gorgeous. And the kids are cute. And the Missoni is recognisably Missoni, which I guess is what you want.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Ah, Carmen. And classic Missoni styling as well. Great clothes, on one of the greatest model ladies ever. Oh, there was another model in the shoot? Hmm. I didn’t notice.

    • Rand Ortega

Didn’t see your post before I wrote, Kiltdntiltd. Sorry! Great minds, etc., eh?

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Bears repeating, anyway. Yay for Carmen!

  • Rand Ortega

    That is all.

  • gabbilevy

  • jenuwefa

About a month ago here in teh Czech Republic as well.  Had no idea it was going to be so popular and didn’t turn up til about 1pm the day the collection went on sale – found nothing for me, but my 11 year old snagged a terrific pair of black pants with the Missoni pattern (black on black)…

  • kimmeister

What would Lindex be equivalent to in the US?  Target?  Kohl’s?  Macy’s?

    • jenuwefa

It’s like another version of H&M.

  • MilaXX

Carmen is indeed fierce, but I’m melting at the site of that cute baby.

  • http://twitter.com/heatherb84 heather b

In pic # 4, it looks like the other model is stepping on Carmen’s foot. In fact her whole leg looks odd.

    • http://www.lindamerrill.com Linda Merrill

Weird. Looks like a bad photoshop job. That said, great spread and Carmen is amazing.

  • Isana Leshchinskaya

i saw carmen a couple weeks ago sitting at a cafe and went weak in the knees. she is fabulosity. a luminous otherworldly creature! goddess! even more beautiful and breathtaking and a presence in person, if that is possible.

  • nannypoo

Here we have the most beautiful woman in the world with her mouth-breathing young friend. One looks elegant and the other looks like she’s not too bright. Pay attention, Dear. You could learn something.

    • kimmeister

I recently learned from my dental hygienist that mouth-breathing makes your gums more sensitive.  There must be an epidemic of bleeding gums amongst young models!

  • decormaven

Carmen is the essence of style. Her eyes in the first shot is what Tyra kept trying to explain to the hamsters- that’s “smize.”

  • golden_valley

Carmen is fierce, but in a scary sort of way.  And the pattern of the clothes reminds me of the zig zag afghans my grandma made in the ’60’s.

    • Melvis Velour

I still treasure the one my Grandma made – it was fought over after she passed on but I was bigger, meaner and faster than everyone else to get my claws on it…

  • Dagney

I would love to see advertisers take a note on this ad.  Carmen’s presence adds a whole new level of depth because she IS so much visibly older.  It’s like a whole new “section” of the beauty spectrum lit up the entire page.

  • http://twitter.com/sillytwigg twigg

I wish they used a different (less busy) background.

  • mmc2315

Oh!  Thanks for this post!  Carmen makes me smile, and the clothes are cute.

  • EEKstl

Gawd, she’s fabulous.  They even left in some wrinkles, God love ’em!

  • choco

4th pic down, totally looks like Emily is stepping on Carmen’s foot to not get shown up by a model 4x her age.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

    I LOVE that wrap dress.

  • greyhoundgirl

Carmen is so gorgeous.  Makes me wonder what Dita Von Teese will look like at her age.  Probably gorgeous, too.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mary-Elizabeth-Poytinger-Baumer/1516981341 Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

seriously, look at her face.  bitch can WORK.

  • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

Perfection. I will buy every damn piece in this spread if given the chance.

  • SpcilK

    I just inhaled.

  • yybb

Noone can compete with toddlers. It is just not possible.

    Lady Carmen is divine although.

  • guest2visits

Everyone looks very pretty… and the ad makes me feel I’m missing something Missoni in my closet.

  • understateddiva

Wow, such a look of confidence.  She steals every frame.  (no offense to the other model, who has a lovely smile)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Julie-Chase/731391326 Julie Chase

She became one of my favorite people ever after watching the HBO documentary about aging models. She looks tremendous. The clothes are really eye catching too, I sometimes find Missoni a bit much but these are great. Love Carmen’s final dress.

  • http://www.lifeinspice.com/ rose88

Oooh Miss Carmen – cheekbones for days!

  • Trisha26

Love her, hate the Missoni print.

  • jmorino08

  • Monabel

Why is the whippersnapper stepping on Miss Carmen’s foot?

  • http://twitter.com/MEGM3G meg sewell

Bad photoshopping on the feet in that 4th shot.

  • http://twitter.com/MEGM3G meg sewell

Yikes. Bad photoshop work on those feet in the 4th shot.

  • quiltrx

The clothes are pretty cool–I really like the color pallettes.

And Carmen…what can you say?  Perfection.  She could make women in white gloves want to buy tomato-juice popsicles.

  • Sarah Thomas

It all looks like an old EPCOT ride.

  • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

    Generations of beauty.

    • Vera L-

      hi Vera :)

  • MoHub

This just shows why Project Runway needs an over-60 challenge. Carmen looks totally snazzy without looking like mutton dressed as lamb. One can be older and age-appropriate and still look sharp. I’d love to see that challenge, and Joan Rivers should guest judge it.

  • Jessi03

I want all the clothes!  Gorgeous!

  • sweetlilvoice

The first pic and the closeup of the two models look amazing. Younger model looks very genuine in those photos. Miss Lady will and can kick anyone’s butt. Does she know Helen Mirren? And if so, could I hang out with them?

  • belfebe

Now, this is a sweet collection reminiscent of the 70’s.  The designers could have used something like this in the “Disco” challenge last night at Project Runway.  This is how it’s done.

  • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

My heart went pitter patter over the wrap dress where she is holding the little girls hand. I think I will have a little girl now so I can have that dress for her also.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3KCDEX4FOTCFHZP6WLKSOOKUVM Danielle

It’s almost not fair for the other models to be in the same shots as Carmen.  That’s why there have to be at least a few pics where she’s not in them.

  • rmp6y5

I just don’t understand the fascination here.  It all hurts my eyes and looks a bit like Grandma crocheted it (exception: the butterfly top and floral pants–at least something new and different!)  Also, who on earth looks good in horizontal wavy stripes?  These make even the 00 models look a little pregnant.  Perhaps this just isn’t my taste.

  • kolokOlchik

    oh yes!  fabulous!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/73BKSVYJFI73JCJAZSDUAY75IY Laurel

Carmen is undeniably awesome, to outclass peers younger than her in an industry all about youth is no mean feat.  And her face, she knows it.

But I hate the background these pictures are taken on, I can barely see the clothes.  And when I looked back at the pictures of Miss Emily, her mouth is open in every picture giving her a beaver-y look.  In most of the pictures she has the same facial expression which is akin to “Hm, what?  You took the picture?  Well, good thing I’m gorgeous because I wasn’t paying attention…”

And it did look at first like she was stepping on Carmen’s foot in the one photo, her whole pose in that seems ass awkward.

  • WittyCism

Always been a Missoni fan.  But how *does* one dress print-on-print without looking like she put her clothes on in the dark?  Or is all attitude?

  • UptownNippy

What a wonderful group of photos. Cheers to Carmen!

  • bringbackbeatles

She is so stunning! I cannot believe her age because she sure doesn’t look near it, yet doesn’t look like she’s trying too hard. She looks younger, but still comes across as, not only accepting her age, but celebrating it. Like a lot of the collection, but the first thing that jumped out to me was her face. Fierce!

  • Cathy S

I had to look at this post just to see Madame Carmen. My god, but she’s gorgeous. The clothes are kind of cool but I wish they hadn’t put them on that background that look just like the clothes. My eyes hurt.
