Matt Bomer at LAX

Posted on November 05, 2012

We don’t care how trendy they are…

Matt Bomer arrives at LAX Airport.

Some men should simply stay away from beards. Talk about hiding your light under a bushel. Matt, honey, that’s a face that should never be covered up.

But hey, we love your outfit. Except for maybe the hat, which looks a little douchey.

I thought you’d bust him for the hat – it looks too small!!

    • BazoDee

He is normally so good at hats – i wonder if it is his hubby’s -because it does look too small.

  • pattyw

Is it just me, or does he look like Mark Ruffalo?

    • VioletFem

Well now that you mention it, kind of.

    • Kristin McNamara

      I see a graying, shorter-haired Ashton Kutcher.

    • turtleemily

      I saw Johnny Depp.

      • VegMom

Not to COMPLETELY out myself as ancient, but I’m getting all kinds of Robby Benson up in here.

  • SophiaPehawkins

I don’t like men that fight the hot.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

That’s right.  Don’t fight the hot!

    • Le_Sigh

Amen sister.  Its more work to fight it.  He can still be comfy and look good.

  • He is beautiful but I guess even beauty gets tired of the same face everyday. The hat makes his forehead look huge. I love him

  • BazoDee

Yikes -I love me some Bomer but goodness I hope that’s for a part. From the neck down however – he is such a hottie. Do we have a back shot of those jeans?

  • JasmineAM

Matt Bomer: you are probably THE hottest man on Earth. Please don’t…don’t do this to yourself.

  • I love the beard. HELLO PAPA BOMER!

    •  AMEN, Brother!

    • Vitantonio D’Ambrosio

       Tell them about it!

  • tereliz

Yikes. He looks like some kind of vessen from Grimm. That is one grizzled looking beard, short as it is.

  • I blame Brad Pitt.

  • PeggyOC

    Well, he’s definitely incognito.

  • poggi

    NOOOOO.  (breathe).  NOOOOOOOOOOO.

  • MissMariRose

I wish he would hide his light under my bushel.

  • ecallaw1977

It makes him look like Eric Dane.

    • filmcricket

My exact thought. And, I mean, there’s nothing wrong with looking like Eric Dane, unless you have the ability to look like Matt Bomer instead.

  • I think he does it because he has to be to clean shaven for White Collar. Not that I’m saying it looks good, because it doesn’t, but  think that’s the reason behind it. And hey, maybe his boyfriend digs the beard.

    • BerlinerNYC

I assumed the same, that he’s just on a break between seasons, and in his off time he doesn’t have to be “Matt Bomer in White Collar” pretty, just Matt Bomer hot. Also, he’s not as immediately recognizable this way.

  • The more facial hair he has the more he looks like Eric Dane.

  • Nicholas

Okay, imagine this were a movie or TV role. What would it be? It doesn’t fit the last stint as a Marvel supervillain scientist.

  • msdamselfly

    He looks gorgeous

  • thecitysleeps

I think the bear was for a movie part.  But he looks pretty.  I love his scarf!

    • homespunner

I know “bear” was a typo, but it made me laugh.

  • kirkyo

Sorry, I like the beard AND the hat. LOVE the coat.

  • Lolo Andre

Still waiting for a Kristen Stewart Balenciaga look post

  • I can forgive the hat due to the airplane travel. Sleeping in a chair is bound to screw up even the best ‘dos.

  • unbornfawn

The beard doesn’t suit him. At least it isn’t a face full of stubble.

  • alyce1213

Actually, the guy behind him is wearing pretty much the same thing with really nice tan bucks and without the douchey hat and superfluous scarf.
So I vote for the guy behind him’s outfit.

  • Shhh! He’s in disguise! Don’t spoil it!

  • Agreed Uncles. Agreed.

  • Friend I shared this with reminded me something about the facial hair – it’s no shave November (Movember, it might be called?).  No clue if he’s doing it or not, but if he’s not doing that, he needs a shave.  Stat.

  • As one of the millions of fur bearing, and fur loving folk out there, I must respectfully disagree. my only issue here is that his beard is not especially well tended, as it ought to be.

    • B_C_J

You are completely correct. He just has to clean up the beard a bit – comb it and maybe trim it down

    • DCSheehan

      J’agree. Fur forever!

  • Judy_S

I am guessing that a substantial beard like that is for a role–the man is an actor, and not all roles require the same degree of hotness. So I think he should be given a pass!

    • rainey13

The beard was actually for 2 roles – Space Station 76 and Winter’s Tale. There were a couple of pics from the set of Winter’s Tale posted on the net last week – he’s an immigrant on Ellis Island, looked very period.

      • Judy_S

After I wrote my comment I went to IMDB and looked up Winter’s Tale. He’s in fact playing the hero’s (youngish) father so when someone wrote “Papa Bomer” they hit it.
But the reaction to the beard here strikes me as a bit odd. I think he looks beautiful.

  • Qitkat

Love this guy, bearded, shaven, hatted, hatless, shirted, shirtless, panted, pantsl….

  • PrunellaV

I don’t know. For some reason I’m imagining lederhosen with this look, not jeans.

  • jmorino08

If the hat fit him, it wouldn’t look bad. As a person with a giant forehead, I am all too familiar with that effect. Don’t hide your face under a shrub Matt, darling, but maybe tone down the five-head. You could rent out ad space to political candidates on that thing!

  • TSkot

Like most men, he’s even better with a beard.  WERQ that scruff!

  • I *love* a good beard and sir, that is *NOT* a good beard! (hint, if the stache and beard do NOT touch, then shave off the fungus, er, beard and wait til you grow up and try again, if not…accept the lousy genetics and move on) and even we pale non-stars can afford ‘just for Men’ have one of your minions pick some…screw it, just have them shave that mess off. Have a nice flight!

  • j_anson

    Oh my GOD.

  • crash1212

I would think it’s a great way to slip through the world un-detected…unless, of course, you’re in an airport. Love his outfit, don’t hate the beard.

  • MilaXX

He’s always worn the hats, if he shaves all is forgiven.

  • Rand Ortega

Can’t get any more incognito than that! Ew.

  • He needs the beard for his role in a movie (two movies actually: Space Station 76 and Winter’s Tale, which he is filming now), so that’s why he has it for some time, not because he tries to hide. 😀

  • homespunner

That’s a lot of crap to remove at the security checkpoint–I think he looks good–I just wouldn’t want to be standing behind him. On second thought, yes, I would.

  • jw_ny

I like the beard.  With the hat, jacket, glasses, jeans, raggedy shoes, and scarf…he’s kind of a hot little hipster.    😉

  • Zippypie

Hate the beard.  Otherwise, he looks fine, though it’s the scarf for me that makes it a little douchey.

  • drdirection

It is November, which is “grow your beard” month.  Although that is clearly more than five days worth.

  • Matt Bailer

Whether you like the beard or not, can we at least give dapper Matt credit for knowing what’s really important?  NO NECKBEARD!

  • Matt had just finished being in NYC to film a movie, then #Sandy, then a 6 hour flight home, then 3 autograph stalkers with a half dozen pix each for him to sign, and he did without rancor, the whomever asked him questions about Jackie Collins Superman remarks.  I’d say he looks pretty damn fine & you need to back off.

  • Frank Li

    He ruined his great face.

  • poohbah1

Sunglasses indoors? What a hipster douchebag.

  • quiltrx

UGH!  I had to look him up on IMDb just to see if he was who I thought he was.  “Hipster Douche” is not a good look anyway, but especially not if you were beautiful without it!

  • Dear god, I usually love beards on men, but his is a face that doesn’t need a beard.

    Other than that, cute, though.

  • formerlyAnon

Getting off the plane or on? Because if he’s getting off the plane, he gets bonus points for looking so very un-disheveled. Though that might be the difference between business/first class and coach.

  • formerlyAnon

P.s. I lean anti-beard by personal inclination, but I think he looks just fine in this. Some men can pull it off, I think he’s one of them.

  • RzYoung

I always love a beard, i have no problem with the beard.

  • Dale Sullivan

The bears is for two roles he just completed. I’d love him no matter what; it’s just hair. Get a life!

    • “I’d love him no matter what…”
      “Get a life!”

  • Good Lord. All these comments here and no one is enough of a fan of Matt’s to know that the beard is for a part. He’s filming “Winter’s Tale,” and that’s what the beard’s for. Everyone can calm down, he’s not purposely hiding the hot.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

I heartily agree with Uncles T and Lo-that face should never, ever be covered up. And Matt, dear, ditch that hat.

  • He looks so good in hats, usually, but that one….

  • I love that jacket! Want one for my hubby…

  • i appreciate the grey in the beard.  says the woman that’s got a man getting more and more grey in his as well.  🙂
