      Shower curtain

      • Isabel

      • JasmineAM

        /Really/ dry skin.

      • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Is she wearing a belt UNDER her shower curtain? How is one supposed to keep up with these trends?

        • Merneith

You don’t wear a belt under your shower curtain? How do you keep up stockings? 😉

      • Alloy Jane

Spiderweb shower curtain. Halloween doesn’t want to leave just yet.

      • julesj

Exactly what I was thinking. LOL

      • lilazander

    • Jane Donuts

Weird and risky and glamorous and I love it.

      • gabbilevy

It looks stupid from the side, but the front works… probably on her and her alone.

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Is she all “TLo told me I could wear anything Dior and look good, so now I’m proving that statement was bull shit”?  This…is Dior?

      • Dixie Murphy Ross

My thoughts exactly. “Those words will come back to haunt us!”

    • nannypoo

      • Clueless_Jock

Yup. I think it’s awful. Cotillard looks best in girly dresses. This Dior caftan should be reserved for Andre Leon Talley.

    • SewingSiren

I LOVE it. Stunning work of sculptural art. I would have guessed it was a Balenciaga.

      • Kayceed

I read about a Balenciaga – I think from the early 60s – metallic body suit underneath a shear caftan-y dress – fabulous!

    • Missy Covington

Dear god, Ms. Cotillard! It appears as though you’ve just walked nude through a huge spider web! ACK!

    • MajorBedhead

      No. Not even on her.

    • Pants_are_a_must

A see-through cobweb plastic caftan. Yes, that’s EXACTLY what I think about when someone says “Dior” and “Marion Cotillard in designer dress”.

      • Corsetmaker

        It’s not plastic.

        • Pants_are_a_must

So what? It looks like plastic.

    • Deitra S.

It looks like a really fancy art smock.  Yikes.

    • ceceliadid

       Spider lunch.

    • Anathema_Device

So, yes, it does look like a shower curtain, but for some reason I still like it on her. Go figure.

    • Elissa Malcohn

Amazing what you can do with tarp and electrical tape.

      • bionicgyal1

I didn’t know Dior was doing Project Runway…

    • Janet B

Certainly it’s not a dress for everyone, but I like it.

    • Carla_Charlton

Like the whole thing, including the shoes.  Not a lot of people could pull this off, but she can.

    • alyce1213

Is a red carpet movie premiere a good venue for a garment as bizarre and editorial as this?  That is the question.
To my mind, no.  It draws too much attention to itself and away from the person wearing it. It takes over.
This belongs on a runway or in a magazine.
      And besides, it’s pretty ugly.

    • Sarah Souffriau

    • schadenfreudelicious

      bedazzled spiderweb/caftan/showercurtain?…i cant….

    • B_C_J

I applaud her for being fearless.  This is art and she knows it.  She is  breaking out of the mold of conventional dressing. In that sense, it’s fabulous. However, if you measure it by the standard of what is pretty and feminine, it fails. It makes a major statement and within that context I approve.
Ms. Cotillard better hope that China Chow is not around.  Ms. Chow will rip that gown right off her back. :)

    • facebook-724916801

I think I like it. I’d love to be able to see if/how it moves as she walks.  Her makeup and hair are perfect, too.

      • Corsetmaker

Click on the link under the model picture and then the dress is look 25 in the collection. If you click it there’s an option to see it in motion. I like it too.

    • Cindy Bartlett Zigler

Girl, that’s not your dress! ‘Shower curtain’ and ‘rain coat’ are both very apt descriptions of this horror! And no one had some hand cream/body lotion to rub on her elbows??  What are PA’s for, if not to carry every conceivable item for the person they’re hired to take care of?? Complete fail….

    • maria foulquie garcia

I like the idea, and it ALMOST looks good in the first picture, but at the end…no girl, just let it go. It’s not working. At all.

    • Magdalena Monzerrat Ontiveros

the problem is not her, the problem is Dior without Galliano!!!!

    • Ailsa Martin

I’d LOVE this if it was fitted in the front, like a dress with a cape. As it is, I just like it and find it unusual and intriguing and attractive. I bet it looked stunning in motion.

    • charlotte

She could wear it during her next pregnancy. There. I came up with a positive remark.

      • l_c_ann

She could wear it to shampoo and hose rinse a very large dog.  (Although your positive is better.)

        • Pennymac

She could wear it to paint her ceilings and still be well protected.

    • Lily-Rygh

      Ewwww.  No. Not at all.

    • susan6

If a Project Runway designer sent that down the runway, he or she would be roundly chastised.

    • LadyCelia

      That dress is tragic.

    • Tracy_Flick

      Halloween maternity shower curtain.

    • A B

What a freaky dress!  This would have made a good “In” or “Out”.  I’m still on the fence.

    • MilaXX

Not exactly loving this. I think I like the top of this, but the bottom looks like she wearing a ziplock freezer bag. Still, if anyone could make wearing a ziplock work, it’s Marion.

    • Imasewsure

Wedding dress for the Bride of the Fly! Weird – don’t hate it – but it’s weird

    • Nancer

      Scroll down fug.

    • unbornfawn

This is a great fabric and would have made killer simple little dress. This shower curtain thing is awful.

    • Alexandra Simons

That’s one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen.

    • elleg929

It looks like a rain slicker.

    • sarahk12

Even the runway model looks fat in this. If I were Marion, I’d fire my stylist for it alone.

    • Garcia Loca

I don’t know how in the hell she pulls it off, but she does.

    • Sara__B

An unusual and striking gown, but not at all flattering to this gorgeous woman. Maybe it’s stunning in person, but doesn’t photograph well? Or maybe it’s just not a dress to wear off the runway.

    • Corsetmaker

Why all the plastic comments?? It’s either chiffon or organza with sequins and the underdress looks to be sequinned too. I love the way the underdress sparkles through the chiffon. It’s very subtle.

It’s really pretty when you click the link and watch the moving version.

    • LesYeuxHiboux

This garment is weird as hell, but damned if she isn’t making it work. I can’t really explain most of it…she’s just magical? I like the point of the shoes echoing the angular shapes in the pattern, and the simple soft hair swept up out of the way. The shower hair was a misstep…actually now that I look at her head I’m not so sure it’s working. Her makeup if pretty but the hair is giving her conehead. I can’t handle all this before noon.

    • snarkykitten

I guess she’s trying to prove to you boys that she wasn’t born to wear [all] Dior

    • MoHub

      Please! No more see-through dresses!

    • leave_Blake_alone

      the fuck?!?

    • jen wetherden

it looks like the ‘protection’ that they wear in the love scene in ‘Naked Gun’. Massive body-size shiny condom

    • Vera

At least she’s wearing it better than the model.

    • frannyprof

I love it from the front. Not so much from the side. Perfect for if you’re expecting.

    • marilyn

Yikes.  Are we seeing her underwear there?

    •!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Oh, that’s a bad miss from Dior.

    • MinAgain

Dr. Miranda Jones, from the original Star Trek.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

OK, Dior is just screwing with our heads now.

    • judybrowni

      Spiderweb schmatta mumu.

Who would wear this? Pregnant spiders?

      • Pennymac

OMG I’m laughing so hard I can’t catch my breath!

    • Jacqueline Wessel

This would be better if it weren’t so shiny and stiff.

    • Annabelle Archer

jeezus.  is this going to be the new “she could make a burlap sack look good” standard?

      • meowing

        Designer burka?

    • tereliz

Huh. The words “cloisonné caftan” spring to mind…

    • PastryGoddess

      is that…plastic?  WTF-ery indeed

      • Corsetmaker

Noooo, it’s chiffon or organza with black sequins. Looks like the underdress is sequinned too and is glinting through.

    • NurseEllen

Jesus, Mary, and Oprah, this is just hideous.  Was she on drugs?  Was her stylist on drugs?  Is the whole house of Dior on drugs?

    • Melanie Suzanne

    • Corsetmaker

This is actually really pretty when you click the link and see it moving. I’ll bet it’s one for in person. And of course it isn’t plastic, it’s chiffon or maybe organza with black sequins and the underdress seems to be sequinned too so it sparkles through the top sheer.

    • Judy_J

      Designer rain poncho.

    • Nazzzy

    • Michelle Wilson

I love it. She looks beautiful.

    • crash1212

I think she found the second ugliest Christian Dior dress.

    • marlie

It’s kind of another Dior FAIL. Looks like a plastic tablecloth.

    • Zippypie

      Shower curtain.  Yuck.

    • JauntyJohn

It’s the new “Kiss of the Spider Woman” maternity line!

    • cleverlady

OH, NO!  this may be the ugliest dress I have EVER seen on a red carpet or any venue!  Good grief.  what could she have been thinking?

    • lucasuk82

Oliver, darling, I think Lisa needs another martini.

    • lrhoff

Love this — her figure would normally be lost if it weren’t the see-thru shower curtain….sorry golden_valley commenter.

    • stacey avelar

Between this and the mullet dress the other day I have to ask….Did Dior hire Stella McCartney?

    • Qitkat

Even the fabulous Miss Marion cannot save this bizarre Dior. And I wanted to like it. So unusual.

    • quiltrx

I actually dug this until I saw how loose and baggy it is in the back.  If this were a sheath that fit over an underdress, I think it would look really cool on someone like her.

    • Khaleesi1031

      cray cray!

    • Robert Wilson

Was there a project runway shower curtain episode I missed?

    • decormaven

I’m getting a 50’s movie sci-fi/thriller vibe from this. Attack of the Puppet People. It’s the undergarment’s plastic sheen glinting through the cobwebs.

    • guest2visits

Maybe if this were cut completely differently – clingy and form fitting… it might work.
As is; it’s totally creepy. She looks like she just walked off a sci-fi movie set…  she’s a giant insect in the pupal stage.

    • RzYoung

      oooo i love this!

    • pookiesmom

      Shapeless veiny grocery bag.

    • pugluv

I can’t say I like the dress but somehow she is making it work.

    • Colin Murphy

If she put the belt over the dress I think this dress would be alot better because as it is it has NO form

    • lesmaha

what an odd dress….I can’t figure out what’s going on!!

    • PeaceBang

“Kiss of The Spider Woman’s Frumpy Sister.”

    • Lauren Lynch Fox

It looks like a hair dresser cape…..

    • Trisha26

Good lord that’s an ugly dress.

    • formerlyAnon

I like it, even though it reminds me of something Phyllis Diller might have worn on stage.

    • ccm800

    • Bob Sponge

Can we give her an “of course” for wearing Dior?

    • littlemac8

      Epic fail!

    • Nikki

She took of the shoes mid carpet!

    • Gabby Barnes

This dress would not be so bad if there was less material and it was more slim-fitting. It gives off a vibe of being sexy because of the see-through illusion. Her hair and makeup is fabulous and the dress is way more glamorous than a shower curtain.

    • librarygrrl64

This is ridiculous. Dior is just fucking with us now, right?

    • kathrineb

Nobody was ever going to look good in that dress.

    • Jeff Warhurst

Dior bores the shit out of me lately.
