Maggie Grace in Emporio Armani

Posted on November 28, 2012

We’re showcasing this one to prove a point. SOME PEOPLE know how to show up to a film screening and not look like it’s a waste of their time.

Maggie Grace attends the screening of ‘Killing Them Softly’ in New York City in Emporio Armani.

Emporio Armani Spring 2013 Collection/Model: Marike Le Roux

Brad showed up looking stoned and homeless, Katharine showed up looking like it was a stop on the way home from Duane Reade after picking up some pads, but Miss Maggie knows the value of a camera and a step-and-repeat and she put the damn effort in. She looks great. Love the striped fabric at the hem, which takes it away from looking a bit too Christmas Angel Barbie. Killer shoes, too. Nicely done, girl. Put together without looking try-too-hard.

I love you guys for the Duane Reade reference.

      • Introspective

me too. i snorted at that comment because kath really did look incredibly *regular* for this screening. i mean just another girl on the subway- with her metro card in one hand and her starbucks in the next- level of regular.

        • eowyn_of_rohan

And Brad looked like the guy you make sure you change subway cars to avoid. (And I say that as a Pitt fan.)

        • Wendi126

It was the picking up of pads that cracked me up

    • Sarah Dickerson

I still can’t ever look at her without hearing “SHANNON!” in Sayid’s accent in my head.

      • H3ff

Funny. I always hear her screaming “BOONE!” in my head.

    • Introspective

so funny, I definitely thought this was too twee and too holiday until I saw the bottom striped section of the dress.

Rather than scroll down fug, this was a scroll down save, especially with those hot to death shoes. nice work maggie.

    • twocee

Killer shoes.  Best I’ve seen her look in a long time.

    • Janet B

She looks ready for fabulous evening after a quick stop at the screening.

    • formerlyAnon

The striped underskirt and the hair that actually looks like the stylist was paid as much as he/she was are what do it. She gets double props because I think that dress is harder to pull off than it might look at first glance.

Very nice shoes, but I’m not convinced 100% perfect – that dress doesn’t cry out for dress sandals to me, maybe for something more closed.

    • gsk241

I love it!  She looks like C-3PO’s sexy daughter, and I mean that as a compliment!

    • Nicholas

How is this not a WERQ? Can’t we have this one pre-Christmas miracle, Scrooges? :)

    • oatmealpie

But that striped underskirt looks weird.

    • Judy_J

Perfectly cute dress paired with great shoes.  Love it!

    • AuntieAnonny

I love 2/3rds of this dress. The midsection fanny pack chunk of fabric, not so much.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

I don’t even  like the dress that much – it’s a little student project to me – but it doesn’t matter ’cause she looks cute as a button. Fabulously put together.

    • claudemtl777

Could be a WERQ…she looks amazing

    • bertkeeter

Not loving dress, fabric, fit! Sorry!

      • snevhead

Yeah, what’s up with the fit? What is happening at the back of that dress that necessitates all that fabric under her arms? Also, the sash/waistband panel thing is MONSTROUSLY unflattering. Makes her look a small bit preggers, akch.

        • bertkeeter

I used to worship ARMANI! Nowadays his collections are contrived and matronly! What gives?

This is spectacularly cute.  Re Brad? He could have improved his look a little if he’d walked through a car wash on the way to the red carpet.

    • Sobaika

I don’t like the dress very much on its own, but she looks great. Love the makeup too, very bright and fresh.

    • Pants_are_a_must

The hip area looks really bizarre, though, as if the ghost of a belt with a really big buckle is haunting it.

      Otherwise, she looks cute.

    • Wendi126

I love the entire look and she looks great even if the dress reminds me of double sided ‘holiday’ wrapping paper

    • filmcricket

The fit in the bodice is wonky, she’s got a titscrepancy happening, and I don’t really care for the shoes or clutch with this (although the shoes on their own are pretty fun). Still, grading on a curve, she looks great.

      She is SO pretty

    • Contralto

eleganza!  I love the hint of gold in the strappies of the sandals.

    • Contralto

      oh, and TLO?

Apropos of absolutely nothing other than your stunning sex appeal, brilliant intellects, general fabulousness, and resistance to cheap flattery, will you please come style my mother-of-the-bride outfit when the time comes?

    • SophiaPehawkins

I like the way it looks from far away, but not close up.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I’m not in love with the dress, but she looks so pretty it works here.  Great job.

    • AnaRoW

Brad is past the point where it matters how he dresses at the premiere.  It’s not like anyone’s not going to hire him or notice him because his pants are too big. Katherine McPhee doesn’t bring much to the table anyway.

I do like this look on Maggie although I wish the dress looked a little less home-sewn.

    • DesigningWoman21

I am intrigued by white pantsuit coming into frame in the last photo….

      • Tamara Hogan

         Yes…

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I don’t like the shoes, but the rest of the look Is KILLER. The dress is a great color, I love the striped section, and her hair and makeup are flawless.

    • MzzPants

Mama always said, ‘It’s better to be overdressed than underdressed.’

    • http://twitter.com/gabyripples Gabriella

I’d go so far as to call this a WERQ for the venue. Love it. Love a good gold and silver combo. I wish the piece at the waist was a little higher, proportionally (for some reason it’s slightly reminding me of a fanny pack), but I love how this sort of hearkens to armor while remaining soft. WERQ!

    • DTLAFamilies

She needs a better bra, no? The girls look like they’re diving for her waist.

    • kimmeister

I think I saw her earrings at Kohl’s!

I wish the striped fabric were a little bit more prominent.  She looks cute though.

    • alyce1213

      Just fabulous.

    • Imasewsure

I don’t know who she is but I love her for adding some casual glamor to this frumpy event. Dress is really cute. Major points for her (and for the pant suit lady coming up behind her in the chorus line)

    • kschwarting

I’m not sure I love the shiny gold fabric on a shiny-haired blonde, but she looks very put together.

    • http://www.katymcdermott.com KatyMightHave

My GOD, she’s pushing those shoulders back, isn’t she? It’s like she just read a “7 Ways to Make Your Boobs Look Bigger in Photos” article, and all 7 were “Keep your shoulders back.”

    • MarissaLG

She and Selena Gomez (from 2 posts after this one) should have switched dresses.

    • decormaven

Add some polish to those fingernails, and we’d have a full-on WERQ. Double bonus points for elevating the look at a very plebian RC.

    • Trisha26

The outfit is a little strange but she does look lovely if seasonally-challenged.

    • mike__tv

Maybe I have no taste but…the dress grosses me out. of course she looks stunning as ever she’s maggie grace.

    • pulpytomato

Love the stripes. Fun shoes. Hate the fit of the top.

    • MilaXX

She looks cute and Im not ashamed to say I liked Taken 2
