Keira Knightley at LAX

Posted on November 13, 2012

Let’s take a short break from the crack-on-display that is the Twilight red carpet and bow down to Miss Keira, who looks utterly exhausted and annoyed, yet still more put-together than any of those Twi-gals:

Keira Knightley goes through TSA as she prepares to depart LAX (Los Angeles International airport).

Mulberry Maxi Mabel Bag

That dress is adorable. Love the coat and tights too. Well done, exhausted ladystar.

We saw the first ads for Anna Karenina last night and that may just have to go on our holiday viewing list. It looks really good.

I strangely find her more pretty when she’s not completely caked in make up. Some of those shots were striking in a weird way. Also very very cute dress.

      • Jennifer Hofstetter

I totally agree. There are a ton of lady stars out there who I much prefer the look of when they’re just on the street or whatever. Katie Holmes and Emma Stone also come to mind. They have a natural beauty that isn’t always enhanced when they’re made up on the red carpet sometimes.

        • Funkykatt

          Yeah, she’s a natural beauty.

      • Chuck Barthelme

Completely agree. She’s also looking better as she ages and puts a bit of real person weight on.

        • berkeleygirl

Thank you!  Every time I catch a bit of Bend It Like Beckham – in which she looks glorious – I wonder if it would kill her to gain back a few pounds…

    • Jeremiah Capacillo

It looks a little 2007, but I’ll be damned if she does not look amazing.

    • nannypoo

You would be exhausted too if you had to haul that damn bag around all day.

      • lovelyivy

I usually roll my eyes when people complain about the size of ladies’ handbags- at any time I know mine has an absurd amount of stuff, and I don’t even have kids (tends to automatically double the size). That said, this thing is ridiculously large. It is larger than half of her body. I think if it fell over on her she’d be screwed.

        • DeborahJozayt

The other thing is because of its size, it completely loses its shape when hanging, like udders on some poor old cow. It’s beautiful in the promo shot, but when the belt inevitably gets loose, it’s nothing more than a leather sack.

          • Heather

Since she’s getting on the plane, she might be using it more as a carryon.

            • RebeccaKW

I agree.  You are so limited now in what you can take on the plane (although I’m sure first class is much less limited), I can see her using one big bag with essentials and magazines, ipad, etc.  Especially if it was an international flight.

            • Vienna Marriott

LOL; duh!  Heather nailed it.  She’s at an airport; it’s luggage.

    • Sobaika

Man, she is pretty. That’s a good travel outfit too.

I look like Gollum when I’m tired and leaving the airport.

      • Katie Wolf

Totally gorgeous and effortless too! Getting a strong Alexa Chung-vibe especially in the first pic.

    • Mismarker

I love Keira! I’ll be first in line to see Anna Karenina and am reading the book in preparation.  That being said, girl, curl up inside your comically large bag and take a well deserved nap!

    • RzYoung

Bless her, is she coming or going? Let’s hope she just got off the 11 hour flight. I really love the look and her hair at that length really suits her.

    • Kayceed

How happy am I to see an enormous bag deployed – of all places – at an airport? Because, yes, it is in fact luggage. Also, she looks perfectly comfortable and is not wearing sweats. Praise be.

    • Janet B

Too bad the bag isn’t as attractive in use as it is in the catalog photo.

    • jjfg

Can I just say I hate her?  In the most complimentary, I’m totally jealous kind of way?

      • padma sallah

My feelings exactly. And they would never tip into outright hate cause Miss Knightley is too flawless and you can do nothing but respect that flawlessness. And envy it like burning.

    • Kat Wright

Its a must see guys! Great film!

    • colin gaul

im sorry, did she murder alexis chung and steal her whole everything on the way to the airport?

      • Ceur

        She’s probably in the bag.

    • BrooklynBomber

      Ooh, I love that dress.

    • Pants_are_a_must

This all really works for her. Love the autumn chic of this outfit.

    • MilaXX

Love the look, it appears to be a perfect travel outfit. Anna Karenina looks pretty good too.

    • Kenisha Hill Phillips

One of the few times I wish I had no boobs. That dress is adorable.

      • Donna Tabor

Absolutely. That dress would look like ass on someone with a chest.

    • Little_Olive

That bag looks way better in the catalog picture than in her arm, which is not often the case with bags.

She looks really good. The dress might be a bit much for airplane traveling, but what the hell.

    • merciblahblah

Thank you for scrubbing my brain clean of those dastardly shoes in the Elle Fanning post. This is BRILLIANT.

    • padma sallah

Girl looks good even when she’s exhausted. I am awed. I just wish she would mess up just once so I can start thinking she’s human. But I’d probably find her flawed and charming when she did. Sigh.

    • bertkeeter

Chic, natural and I love the fact that a movie star is flying in a dress, looking ….sort of like the ole days?

    • Isabel

I like how she made a spring dress into a fall dress.

      • kimmeister

Yes, although I must say I do adore the shoes worn by the model paired with that dress (yes, it’s matchy-matchy, but I like it.)

    • l_c_ann

Finally, a star who looks rich and dresses with style.

    • Ass Kicking Adviser

Chic as hell. Love that dress – covet that dresss. Also, I spy the coat that momma wants for Christmas.

      Irrational Celebrity Love List.

    • Rand Ortega

Re: Anna Karenina. Just watched the trailer. Haven’t been this excited about a costume drama since I saw a newly restored Dr. Zhivago @ a rival theater in Manhattan circa 1990.

Miss Kira looks wonderful. Colorfully perfect ensemble for an Autumn day.
That bag has “Cut a bitch & take me” written all over it.

      • lalagigi

Period costume drama, ANY period costume drama, I’m there.

    • algaechick

She saw Katie Holme’s bag and decided she had to up her. Katie (and her bag) are stuffed inside this Mulberry bag.

    • silaria

Better eye makeup and these shots could be an editorial. She’s just freaking gorgeous.

    • LuisaNL

she looks adorable. and the bag. I need it. badly.

    • Judy_J

Great travel look.  I miss the days when air travel meant dressing up.  We have home movies of my grandparents arriving in San Antonio for their annual Christmas visit, and my granddad is in a suit and tie, grandma in a traveling suit with white gloves and a hat.  Those were the days!

    • purpleprose78

I want everything there and I don’t usually say that. The dress, the bag, and the jacket. I love this look.

    • Vienna Marriott

I think she’s one of the most gorgeous women ever to live.

    • shirab

I like the little ribbon on the handle of what I assume is her suitcase (being carried by someone else). I picture her standing at the baggage carousel waiting for a glimpse of the green bag with the ribbon.
Alternately, I see her telling someone “It’s the green bag with the ribbon. I’ll be sitting over here while you wait for it.”

      • Snailstsichr

I always tie a ribbon on my bags! Now i admire her even more. She is obviously smart as well as beautiful, yes?

    • bellafigura1

Hate the bag, and boy, is that hard to achieve with me.

    • decormaven

Great sense of style; all the pieces work together. Thank you for that refreshing shot between the Twi-RC fiascos.

    • marlie

She looks adorable, but she needs a nap; shilling for this movie has only just begun!

    • PrunellaV

She looks great but if that purse were any bigger she’d fit in it.

    • TieDye64

      She looks lovely.

    • granddelusion

It looks like a really bad movie, but the design is sumptuous.

    • CeeQ

Poor Keira. She’s thinking about the nice hot cuppa tea and her fave TV shows waiting for her when she finally gets home. I can relate hon.

    • Zippypie

Despite her looking tired and maybe grumpy, she looks great.  Love this natural look much more than the severe red carpet looks she’s been going for lately.

    • rloliveira

      Ohhhhh, I want that bag.

    • Aidan B

      GAH I love her.

    • quiltrx

Bwa ha ha!!! She looks like I feel when I watch her act.

    • Sau-Chih Feng

I think a similarity between Keira and K-Stew (BEAR WITH ME, I HAVE A GOOD POINT, I PROMISE) is that they’re both Lady Stars who aren’t that comfortable with the red carpet. They always look happier, more comfortable in pictures of them just running around, wearing their “street clothes.” Keira has also stated that she hires a stylist, because she’s rubbish at dressing up. Keira however needs to wear gowns for so many public appearances because the public has branded her as the “Period Film Queen.” I personally maintain that she would look just as fabulous in modern clothes, cue Chanel commercial, the gorgeous beige motorbike suit. That’s a reason they both look off the red carpet, because their “casual” clothes reflect their personal style more.

    • Matt

Love the print. I always want to hold her down and force her to eat though…..that stark jawbone reeks of eating disorder.
