    quite stunning

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Love it.  On her, it’s kind of mature, I guess.  And the lip color seems too much.  But the outfit and shoes are gorgeous and I would love to wear somethinig like that just once in my life.

    • Sobaika

I also love the outfit, and would cut bitches to wear it. But it’s not at all for her.

      • Lizzyisi

She just leaves me so completely cold that I have a hard time judging the outfit. I LOVE it on the model, but I think the earrings Biel chose are too literal, so they make the look matronly. Same with the pants length–it looks like she had to wear flats to keep them from being too short and flats for dressing up are often in mother-of-the-bride territory.

Like some other people have noted–I think she might have been okay with one of the pieces, paired with something simple–but this doesn’t suit her.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

It’s Liza Minelli’s, but I kinda love it on her.

  • jmorino08

    Girl, that’s not your look…

    • cooperalden

      it’s aging.

      • Kristin McNamara

First thought: “Thank you for bein a friend……”

        • kikisayshi

Me too! And we just had a Dorothy Zbornack moment last week with another ladystar – I blocked it out so can’t remember who it was.

  • http://www.facebook.com/AdriannaGrezak Adrianna Grężak

I think the two pieces together are rather matronly. I instantly thought of Joan Rivers when I saw this. Would’ve been cool if she wore one piece with something else

    • http://twitter.com/SamH4Prez Samantha

Agreed, I don’t mind the look but I think I would love the top with some black skinny jeans and fiercer shoes.

      • E. D.

        Exactly!

  • IAmJ

    Hottest 70-year-old I’ve ever seen.

  • clatie

Blanche Devereaux, you saucy little minx!

    • SophiaPehawkins

Girl, I thought the same thing. It’s so aging.

    • Kristin McNamara

Dammit. Wish I hadn’t just said “Thank you for bein a friend” up there before seeing this haha :)

    • kcarb1025

“I look like the mother of a Solid Gold dancer.” – Dorothy Zbornak (and my immediate first thought upon casting eyes on this horror show)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Vienna-Marriott/100001636120960 Vienna Marriott

    LOL!  No.

  • Sobaika

Nope. On someone with more fashion pedigree maybe. Or perhaps with the two items not paired together, maybe the top with tight leather pants. Hair and earrings are fairly traditional for something with edge. That makeup is very in and totally not suitable for Biel.

    Nope.

    • Mismarker

This reminds me of the studded ensemble she wore in Paris a while back.  It’s just too much.

    • poggi

Yes, the top with black leather pants would be a good start.  Also the jewelry just seems random and doesn’t really do anything for the outfit.

    • Introspective

this is the problem, more so than the aging quality of the outfit (which I agree is also quite the issue here). her people are desperately trying to make “jessica biel: fashionplate!” happen. alas, no team JB. she’s just not stylish enough to pull this stuff off.

she can only recreate runway looks that are ill suited to her look (remember the isabel marant studded bomber, top and pants all at once??) and cannot muster an independent fashion decision to save her life. Leave that shit to queen cate and those of her ilk, and just wear a pretty cocktail dress, mkay??

      • Sobaika

Does everyone remember when Vogue tried to make ‘Jessica Biel: Fashionplate’ happen?

  • Dagney

    LOVE her makeup.

  • http://twitter.com/Lily1129 Lily

I think her face/hair looks very pretty. But she needs to pack this up and send it to someone who WEARS clothes, not just wears them. She tries so hard to be fashionable, but she really doesn’t have the attitude to pull stuff like this off.

  • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Patricia Gillett

Loved this…20 years ago on Blanche Devereaux in that episode of the Golden Girls.

  • Beth G

Love the concept…. there’s no WAY that’s comfortable to sit down in though.

  • http://twitter.com/starrika starrika

This is FANTASTIC on her. So much more suited to her than the pretty princess look she tries.

  • http://twitter.com/TheRealSandraOh Sandra Oh

She looks like a miniature Bea Arthur which is not a bad thing if she was 60.  Send this getup to Christina Aguilera.  She’ll cut off the breasts area but she’ll make it work.

  • Emily Wilson

This looks about 15 years too old for her with the accessories and sleeve length

  • pattyw

I suppose I should congratulate her for not wearing the tunic as a dress, which is the route Stacy Kiebler took at the AMAs. That’s the only positive comment and I have to make about this ensemble. The bangs just make me cry.

  • Mismarker

Looks like she’s not growing those bangs out anytime soon.  Too bad.

  • http://twitter.com/sebwfu Shannon Beamer

Wow, the old gal looks great.  No, seriously, this is pretty — but WAY too mature for her.  Also, she went too literal with the shoes.  Although I AM irrationally pleased that she finally brushed her hair (those bangs still give me hives, but baby steps).  Yay for hair brushing, Jess!

  • clairehj7

This could go youthful, but it is definitely matronly on her. And that lipstick. Yuck. What was she thinking?

  • tereliz

Way to dress like an old married woman, Jessie. Time to lock up the good china.

I do love those pants, though. With something less sparkly they’d be really chic! Is it me or is it a little too close to Thanksgiving to wear those sandals?

  • http://twitter.com/astrosexy єℓιzαвєтн。

SHE looks great. The clothes read ‘fancy pajamas’ to me, though.

  • Puck Thornton

The combination doesn’t work for me, it is too much. The trousers are pretty, but the sweater reminds me of a chain mail.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000393765005 Garcia Loca

“Palm Beach retiree” vibe, but I dig it.

  • another_laura

I think it’s a little aging.  Kind of for a Social Xray going to a museum opening night gala.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1832126583 Mary Lauer

Her hair and makeup look the best they have for a while. Even if the look is a “Of course!” for her.

  • sweet_potato

Jessica, just cause you got married doesn’t mean you’re 70.

  • http://twitter.com/democracydiva Democracy Diva

My Bubbie dressed more youthfully than this at 87 years old. She would have looked at this photo and snapped, “What’s that young skinny thing doing in that altecocker outfit?” And she would have been right.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

WTF? Those bangs are just absurd. They look like clip-ons. The outfit is so grand-dame, so Liza. The top is gorgeous but not for this athletic, curvy lady. Agh, I feel like my brain is exploding just looking at her.

The earrings are okay, I guess.

  • Angela Hardi

Blanche Devereaux dressed as disco ball (though her makeup and earrings look pretty)

  • decormaven

Jessica Pare could rock this, but not Jessica B. Not loving the jewelry choices, either.

  • annrr

Not your look,  pack it up and ship it to Betty White. And loose those booms.

  • filmcricket

Oh honey, no. If Blanche Devereaux would tackle you for your outfit, you’re doing it wrong. That top with a pair of black leather pants and some seriously killer heels could work for you, but this? Nein.

  • Isana Leshchinskaya

what in the name of all that is holy? no. just no. except for the earrings.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

Blanche! You look so beautiful, girl. Where’s Dorothy?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LI35AZLWSZEYRDZ4PUCBHUCZUI Jonathan

Kinda fabulous, Kinda terrible. Maybe it needed to be broken up or have a black smoking jacket/blazer over the top. Think it would also look great with black leather pants. Also I hate that hair on her. Just makes her face look weird to me

  • vinrouge15

Pants need to be a bit tighter on the bottom, a little bit of a higher heel, and not as dark a lipstick. But I dig the overall look!

  • mellorcr

NO NO NO NO NO!   Maybe it’s the length of the pants on her combined with wrong shoes and wrong jewelry, but this ages her several decades.  It doesn’t seem to do that to the model, but for all we know that model may be 11 years old.

  • Valdri8

It feels a little Liza to me.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Not working for me. Too aging. The sandals are cute but it’s NOVEMBER, for God’s sake. And I had that color lipstick in 1997.

  • afabulous50

All I can hear is “China Girl” by David Bowie playing in my head when I see this.

  • MilaXX

I can’t with this one. On someone more fashion capable, this could be a great look. On Jessica this is tragic. Bad hair, bad makeup and too small shoes.

  • Buffy

    love

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mary-Elizabeth-Poytinger-Baumer/1516981341 Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

    from the golden girls collection….

  • crash1212

UGH. The bangs are back…bad move. I really like this outfit – just not on her – hate the shoes with it…but I really dislike so MUCH toe exposure. Love the earrings.

  • mmc2315

Yep, aging. Is it the boxy cut?

  • renad

I would totally wear this. If I were over 60.

  • Jillaine13

Why does she always seem to miss by an inch, so close but not quite?  The outfit is pretty but change the shoes to pointy toed heels in a dark color and lengthen the pants.  Get a clutch in a color to have some pop and sweep those damn bangs to the side, like in her wedding picture.  Lose the white bracelets too.

She’s really pretty in the close ups but I wish there could be an intervention where all her loved ones sit in a room and read their letters and cry when telling her how much they all hate her bangs.  Justin must be sitting next to her, holding her hand, as she cries with disbelief and hurt at the confrontation.  A van will be waiting outside to take her to the most fabulous hair stylist in all of the country, her bag already packed.  She begs to keep them and agrees to have them shortened and thinned out.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

OMG. That second paragraph is spot on. I too, would like to join in the intervention. Those bangs are not for her.

  • nancylee61

I like it. Love the clothes, and the earrings look great with the outfit!!

  • SophiaPehawkins

I hate it so much. I hate the bangs. I hate the lip color (on her). I hate how mature it is. I’m pretty sure Blanche Devereaux wore a variety of that outfit a handle of times.

  • http://twitter.com/bfnh bfnh.

beaded bedazzled bedraggled jammies and this gets the whiteboard? no way she sits in this thing.

  • thesixthbeatle

I dont dig it, it reminds me of chain mail.

  • merciblahblah

What in the Bea Arthur hell is this???? The shirt with something different  wouldn’t be so bad, but these two pieces together on her? Not so much. I do think her makeup looks really pretty, especially that lipstick, but that’s about it.

  • SewingSiren

    Space age fabulous!

  • PastryGoddess

A 70 year old park avenue socialite would look great in that outfit.  Biel is not yet 30

And do her shoes have a TOE-SEPARATOR on them?

  • MissMariRose

    And then there’s Maude ….

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1084970904 Alex Simons

    Blanche.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Bad Bad Bad. It’s too over the top. It’s like a stage costume or something.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I love it. I think it all looks great (and kinda Julie Christie 60s) on her.

  • http://twitter.com/flo_whytingale Florence Whytingale

did she just get hitched and decide to fast-forward the next 65 years? horrible! everything about this is ageing.

  • A B

Beautiful–I wish she’d worn it as a mini dress though.

  • Kate4queen

    I actually like this!

  • TSkot

I had no idea she was so old!

  • stubbornthoughts

    No.

Mind you, there’s something there, but not in this cut, shape, or form. No.

  • charlotte

Those pajamas must be uncomfortable to sleep in.

  • bertkeeter

Oscar designed that look for overweight Palm Beach matrons…not her!

  • Scarlet39

Love it on the runway, hate it on JB.

  • MaryanneGirl

My granny wore that with 1970s realness and worked the shit out of it.  Mrs. Timberlake is NOT making this top made exclusively of pop tabs work. No, ma’am.  No.

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Old lady disco pajamas. The flattened out booms don’t help either. And who picked out her accessories to match exactly, and that terrible lipstick. Bad, all around. Maybe Cate Blanchett or Le Swinton or someone with a fashion PhD could make it work, but this is sad.

  • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

Those are some booms if I ever saw them.

I’m not sold on the look. She can pull it off, but I just wish the top had been more tailored.

  • j_anson

That lip color is not the friend she thinks it is.

  • Joyce VG

    Ugh.

  • http://twitter.com/AShinyOConnor A Shiny O’Connor

She looks like one of the Golden Girls.

  • B_C_J

The earrings are the wrong choice for this outfit.  It’s definitely a golden girls outfit.  Perfect for dinner and drinks at the country club. She has aged herself at least 30 years with this ensemble.
The bangs are not doing her any favors.

  • nannypoo

Justin Timberlake’s mother looks great here. I thought she was growing those damn bangs out.

  • Meghan Gerhart

    What the fuck? NO.

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

This is so Liza, I thought for a moment that Justin was gay. Jenna Marbles would not be happy.

  • kittenwithaquip

On Barbara Bush this would be edgy. On Jessica Biel it just looks like Hot Grandma on a Princess Cruise.

  • allcapsERINN

Hey Jessica, I love you, but my grandmother wants her outfit back now.

  • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

I love it in a retro way–someone upthread said J. Pare from Mad Men could pull this off and I agree. The accessories are all wrong but I like her bangs for once.

As it is so referential, I don’t think she quite grasps that which is why there is a disconnect. She “puts on the clothes” they give her; she doesn’t *wear* them.

  • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

Not terrible, but this could have been Phyllis Diller’s outfit, may she rest in peace.

  • DesertDweller79

Hmmm.  It’s… okay.  Well, it looks pretty good on the model, at least.  I’m not loving the look on Ms. Biel.  Maybe the top with something else would have worked better?

  • MrsMaxPower

If it didn’t say Jessica Biel I would have bet money that it was Paulina Porizkova.  PP is a beautiful woman, no doubt, but she’s got at least 20 years on JB.  Sister, get over the bangs…they do not help you.

  • Carly Warnock

She always chooses the wrong lip colour. Kind of a mania with her.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/VKJQ42RUJXFMD4RFKYETDDDV6E M

Casino Night at the retirement hotel.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L6FKGKUXWF6QSWWYAHJZYKKI3E Adrian

Well…see, this is hard. Because I think she looks pretty great, but there are a few “despites.” Despite the fact that it is making her look thicker than she is, despite that it kind of looks like she’s wearing Lady Gaga’s pajamas, despite the fact that she’s sporting booms, despite the fact that she’s apparently wearing kitten-heeled sandals in November and her makeup makes her look kind of cold and lifeless…she still looks pretty amazing. Which is weird, but whatever.

  • BrooklynBomber

I kind of love it. I’m not sure it works so well on her, but the 15 year old model looks great. Points for hair & make up, though.

  • unbornfawn

    She looks good for 45.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

It’s an ok enough outfit, but it’s SOOOOO matronly on her.

  • http://angryfemur.tumblr.com Andrea Lane

    Sparkly pajamas! Terrible lipstick! Booms!

  • margaret meyers

She looks great here. That is a really beautiful pants set that will look great on lots of women.

  • quiltrx

Love the top, don’t care for the pants, hate what’s going on from the neck up, except the earrings.  That is all.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

Nope. She can change up her look and she still is not interesting.

  • TLJezebel

Why does everyone think she is so gorgeous?  I find her very mannish and I hate those bangs.

  • kikisayshi

    Nononononono! wtf?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=664429801 Kate Clausen

I think if she took the top and paired it with black skinny pants and black heeled sandals…and ditched the dated matchy earrings…it would be cool.

  • lalahartma

    What happened?

  • Fordzo

This belongs to a much older woman who is going on a cruise and wants to “dress” for dinner.

  • marilyn

That will be great to keep for when she is in her ’40′s.

  • lrober03

    not bad.  hate the shoes.

  • ojosazules

    She’s a married lady now.
My grandmother would have cut a bitch for this outfit.

  • lacy Betters

I actually really love this outfit.

On her? I’m still undecided. I can’t say definitively that it’s a “not her [outfit]” situation, or a even “WERQ” for that matter. I think what bothers me most is the heaviness of the hair and makeup styling. Since the outfit gives the appearance of being heavy or “chain mail” (as one post put it), the hair (particularly the bangs) and makeup (deep beery lipstick) should have been lighter or more delicate to balance the heaviness.
Don’t get me wrong, I love bangs. And in Jessica’s case I don’t think it’s the bangs themselves but they way they are styled looking heavy and severe. That combined with the dark lip makes the look not as appealing.

And saying it looks similar to “chain mail” isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I
recall a Fall/Winter 2012 YSL dress Nina Garcia wore on Project Runway this past season and
also had an appearance of being heavy. But it was spectacular.
But as I said before, I absolutely love this outfit from Oscar. Their S/S 2013 was amazing. But I seem to like every collection they produce, so I could be partial on my opinion of Jessica’s outfit. ;)

  • http://twitter.com/pennilane pennilane

i think she looks awful. the model looks young and interesting in this, but Biel looks like my grandmother. also, she is so bad at lipstick.

  • librarygrrl64

It’s a bit matronly, but kudos to her for taking the chance. She looks good in silver, which surprises me a bit. But I am SO sick of those bangs.

  • http://www.facebook.com/iris.liu4 Iris Liu

The sandals paired with the outfit make her look like an, albeit fabulous, grandma.

Hate this new trendy lip color, but maybe I just haven’t seen it on the right girl yet.

  • guest2visits

Looks fantastic on her.  Like it better on Biel than the model.

  • vonmiwi culvero

She looks stunning! Something different than an evening gown works fine.

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

WHOA. NO. NO NO NO NO NO.

  • LeifBallard

NO NO NO NO NO…thats all the effort i have to say on this look

  • Tatiana Luján

the shirt, hairdo and makeup make her look 62. That said, I love the pants and the sandals.
