Jack Huston for GQ Magazine

Posted on November 07, 2012

We do so love being a little ahead of the curve, style-wise. Although we suppose you could make the argument that once it’s featured in GQ, a trend has passed into the mainstream. Okay, fine. We’re not ahead of the curve. We’re talking about tweed, kittens. You see, the other night, we were having a discussion about what pieces we wanted to boost our wardrobe with for February’s fashion week and we were both in agreement that we don’t really need to add much, but that we were sorely feeling the need. The need for tweed.

So here’s Boardwalk Empire hottie (at least when he has an entire face) Jack Huston, sporting the latest in tweeds for men. Tom will happily take that Michael Bastian coat off his hands and Lorenzo will be more than happy to sport the Burberry.

‘Boardwalk Empire’ star Jack Huston is featured in the latest issue of GQ magazine photographed by Frederike Helwig.

Coat, $1,375 by Michael Bastian. Cardigan, $675 by Zegna Sport. Henley, $125 by Gant Rugger. Pants, $90 by Banana Republic.

Suit, $2,750, and shirt, $500 by Prada. Sweater vest, $325 by Todd Snyder. Vintage boots by Knapp.

Sports jacket, $995 by Burberry London. Turtleneck, $295 by Polo Ralph Lauren. Pants, $525 by Michael Bastian. Boots, $925 by Giorgio Armani. Gloves by Club Monaco.

LOVE him! I don’t find him “hot”…very old Hollywood handsome. Love him in Boardwalk…that Guinness commercial cracks me up.

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

absolutely beautiful man, with a definite air of a clark gable, errol flynn hybrid.

      • MGMcD

Yes! I was trying to pinpoint who he reminded me of. Total Errol Flynn realness :)

        • margaret meyers

          A little young Orson Welles?

I’m getting a Withnail vibe from the tweed coat – which I love. He’s a very good looking man and I like the slightly different editorial.

Loving the clothes and the man (even that sad phantom mask couldn’t hide the handsome), but not loving the photos so much. It’s a bit of an awkward shoot, no? Somebody put his lovely mug in a film as the leading man please.

Yes, please put his whole face in a movie…

Heh.  I like to joke that only Terence Winter would take the most classically handsome actor in his cast and blow off half his face.  But it was a star-making turn for Huston so Winter’s an evil genius.

And Huston’s whole face is slated to be in two movies next year.

It reminds me of a “Come to Scotland!” Tourist brochure.

  • Cassi68

Oh my heavens! I was having such a bad day and then you put up a post of hottie Jack Huston. Thank you Uncle T and Lo! Half a face or a whole face, he’s dreamy!

  • alyce1213

The need for tweed, indeed.  Trends come and go, but tweed is eternal. That’s the good thing about classics.

I guess this means that when I sported my tweed kilt and and jacket ensemble I’d made, while I was in Paris this past Spring, that I was ahead of the curve. Cool!
The clothes are all great looking, he’s not much in the way of a print model, though.

The last photo is my favorite.

I love a nice tweed jacket.

  • Sara__B

Aw. Great clothes. Cute guy. I love that bicycle shot!

Once you guys are done taking all the clothes off him… pass him down to this end of the table, please?

    • DeborahJozayt

And don’t give us sloppy seconds!

  • sweetlilvoice

Love him, sexy and talented. He brings a lot of depth to his character in BE too. Heartbreaking.

  • kimmeister

    Rocking the sweater vest!

  • DeborahJozayt

There’s actually 2 tweed jackets on the Burberry website, plus a wool tweed jacket that hops on occasionally when it’s in stock. My husband has invested in one a few months ago and hasn’t regretted the decision. Just a helpful suggestion!

  • editrixie

Not sure about the pics in some ways, but PHWOAR that man is gorgeous. He’s the only reason I’m still enduring Boredwalk Empire.

Same. Well, and I watch for Arnold Rothstein. I find him so evilly delicious.

  • Judy_J

My son sent me a link to this article a few days ago…I was hoping you’d do a post on it!  I LOVE Jack Huston, he is an amazing actor, and the emotion he can convey with just half a face is just unbelievable.  He comes by his acting chops honestly, being of the Huston family.  Oh, and the clothes are nice, too.

  • Kate4queen

oh good I just ordered a tweed skirt-I’ll finally be in fashion again!!

  • Imasewsure

Had to look this honey up on Wikipedia since I haven’t seen his shows….. get this:

“Huston was born in London, the son of Lady Margot Lavinia Cholmondeley and Walter Anthony (Tony) Huston.[1] His paternal grandfather was director John Huston and his maternal grandfather was Hugh Cholmondeley, 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley.[1] Through his maternal grandfather, Huston is descended from David Sassoon, the Treasurer of Baghdad, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, who founded the Rothschild family international banking dynasty, and Robert Walpole, the first Prime Minister of Great Britain.[3][4] Huston is the nephew of actors Anjelica Huston and Danny Huston.”

Oh my god…. ME TOO!!! Um…. hot and fancy…. just how we like em!

    • Rand Ortega

& the grandson of the great director of such films as “The Maltese Falcon” & “Treasure Of The Sierra Madre” & “The African Queen”, John Huston. He also played the creepy, evil father to Faye Dunaway’s character in “Chinatown”.

Love this actor & his family is quite amazing.

      • not_Bridget

And great grandson of actor Walter Huston. Who won an Oscar for his role in Treasure of the Sierra Madre; catch him in Dodsworth next time it shows on TCM!

Jack is among the amazing cast of Parade’s End–the BBC series based on Ford Madox Ford’s novels–which will be showing up on HBO, probably early next year. (DVD’s already available for those with all-region players!)  His face is fully intact except for a moustache befitting his role as a bit of a cad & bounder. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead…

          Parade’s End–Day: Made.

    • http://howtofaint.tumblr.com/ How to Faint

Oh my god. If he’s related to Robert Walpole, that means he’s also related to Horace fucking Walpole

Excuse me, I have to go squeal and fan myself now.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

He is one GOOD. LOOKING. MAN. He looks great in these photos!

  • http://dentsdelait.tumblr.com/ Nancy Marion

LE. SIGH. Love the bicycle photo.

  • jw_ny

mmm…the Michael Bastian coat!  I think I actually started to salivate when I saw it.  ;)

These pieces are all quite classic…no worry about going out of style.

  • http://twitter.com/chylde chylde

Yum, drool … all over the tweed and the “Huston,” who’s of Hollywood royalty and British aristocracy.

  • MilaXX

I love him and I’m happy to see his character getting a love interest this season even though I can’t help but feeling it’s all going to go horribly wrong at any moment.

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

Most likely, considering the show in question.

God, he’s gorgeous. And I just love Richard Harrow.

  • quiltrx

Anyone in this bloodline is totally groovy with me. :)

  • http://twitter.com/SillyGrrlJen Silly Grrl

How did I not know he was a Huston? I can totally see it in his face now. Great pics!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

Yep, he’s gorgeous.  And talented.  And gorgeous.

  • librarygrrl64

Love the bicycle shot. Handsome guy.
