Christa B. Allen in David Koma

Posted on November 01, 2012

Christa B., that’s a really cute dress on you.

Christa B. Allen attends the British Fashion Council Cocktail Party in West Hollywood, California in a David Koma dress paired with Chanel booties.

But Christa B., booties don’t go with everything, y’know.

I’m not loving the way the khaki color looks with the tone of her skin, but otherwise, she looks great! Minus the booties.

SO happy she wore it without that silly sheer thing over top of it.

    • Kristalbailey

LOVE the dress! Glad she wore it simple w/o that sheer overlay thing. Would have looked way better with nude pumps or orange sandals though, IMO.

Fall colors are a nice idea generally but in this case I think they look a little drab.  She’s young and beautiful, though, and I love Revenge, so she gets (another) pass.

    • MilaXX

yep, a classic scroll down fug. This was a really great look until you got to the booties.

    • JasmineAM

Just wondering, is the model sporting horns, or is that just baby hair?

      • DeborahJozayt

Now that you said it, I can’t unsee it. It’s like brown wig tape!

I don’t mind the booties, even though they’re probably not appropriate for the event/dress (hangs her head in shame).  I just cannot hate them.

      • raininmai

Yeah, I like the booties. I think they move the dress to a more youthful and fun territory.

WHY THE SHOES, WHYYYYY??? Great dress though.

I’ve been a huge fan of Christa’s stylish choices as of late – she’s certainly giving Ashley Madekwe some healthy competition on the Revenge red carpet. I love the David Koma dress but the Chanel boots shorten her limbs and are just unflattering to the silhouette she was trying to create. The addition of these Charlotte Olympia’s would have made my day! http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/318179

That is one scroll down fug!

    • kschwarting

The dress looks good on her, but based on that third photo she does not have a career as a model ahead of her.  Her posing skills need some work.

    • erinbinek

I love this dress on the model.  Not so much this version.

Conontinuing with my downer mood, I’m not loving the matchy orange lips much. Those shoes? Sooooo wrong for this.

      • mjude

i hate the shoes with the dress.  we are experiencing after effects from the full moon.  i am in a funk. :(

    • FashionShowAtLunch

Theoretically I can see a pair of booties working here. Not these ones, though.

    • nannypoo

I’m sure that model is a lovely woman, but her hair and makeup are just sad. Christa looks cute except for the shoes.

    • PastryGoddess

I knew you were going to say that even before I scrolled down.

    • l_c_ann

The fabric pattern is lovely in blue and white; orange and tan not so much.

From the orange-less side view, it’s loose shape wear and that could be the next thing after corsets as evening dresses.

The most interesting thing here?  The model in the background in the runway shot.

    • decormaven

Those booties killed that look. And a point off for the pale nail color, particularly with that strong lip shade.

    • anotherkate

Those particular booties go with NOTHING. I’m over the witch boots. I was never under them, actually.

    • kimmeister

I’m personally of the opinion that booties only work with pants.  She would’ve looked so much better with some coppery pumps.

    • Jepham

I don’t like the booties and the dress looks like it’s a size too small on her.

    • PrunellaV

Not crazy about the boots (maybe in another color?) but so glad she ditched the full-body lampshade.

Booties on many women tend to make ankles look fat. Kinda almost doing so in this case. This is why I do not own booties….

    • 5HT

The pattern on the dress triggers my trypophobia D:

    • EEKstl

I am seething with jealousy over her long torso, but other than that she looks pretty fabulous.  I even like the booties!

    • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

Alas, even Chanel booties don’t go with everything.

    • margaret meyers

Take off the designer mosquito netting and you have a really cute dress.

    • Contralto

Another cutie!  Do not like the shooties.

    • Trisha26

I was scrolling with trepidation intoning “Please TLo, please say you hate the booties.” YAY! Cute dress.

    • Introspective

Seriously- she looks run of the mill starlet to me. I dont know who she is and shes not making me care about her any more than I already dont in this yawnfest of a dress and the horrid shoe choice.

    • quiltrx

I would love this dress done in the colors on the model.  I’m probably just jealous because Fall colors make me look like a corpse.

    • MoHub

Love the dress; hate the booties.

    • http://www.facebook.com/sarchie14 Stephanie Archie

Ha, I hate booties, but when I looked at this picture I thought “Wow I really like them here.”

    • teensmom99

Wish we’d see more starlets in fund, slightly risky clothes like this.  Too bad she didn’t go with the right shoe/sandal.

    • http://twitter.com/maggie162 Maggie

Booties don’t go with anything. Why are women so intent all of a sudden on making their legs looks as short and squat as possible?

    • Allison Woods

I would kill for that dress.

Wonder how it would look on her in white?

Who is christa B allen & why do i care what she’s wearing?
