    Overpriced potato sack.

    • poggi

But a very elegantly draped one.

      The dress is bad too.

  • schadenfreudelicious

her dress will go on and on……..

    • librarygrrl64

We are not worthy [bows down to schadenfreudelicious].

    She’s still slim. Envy

  • charlotte

More like a J. Mendel tablecloth. And honey, you’re standing on someone.

    • snevhead

Is it Mozart she’s standing on? Either that or Karl Lagerfeld.

  • http://twitter.com/carelessriver Cassie L

She is actually rocking that. Be still my heart.

  • In_Stitches

Fabulous dress…in a single still on a perfect specimen, styled to death, with a small bust.  In any  other situation, it’s a mess.

    • cooperalden

Best I have ever seen her look…she actually looks relaxed…and she never does

  • snevhead

I cannot ABIDE Celine Dion. Like, she gives me such a cramp. But even I have to admit that that’s a good look for her. The colour is a little, well, dun, but I love the cut of the dress. And it’s age-appropriate (is that a boring observation? I just feel like some women could admit to themselves what age they really are…)

    • http://profiles.google.com/awilsongirl Amy Wilson

I feel like I have found my soulmate. I start so many sentences with “I cannot abide…” and people look at me like I am insane. And I completely agree with everything else you said as well.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Add me to the ranks of those who, “cannot abide”. There are more of us than you know.

        • formerlyAnon

Amen, my brothers and sisters in loathing.

          • l_c_ann

I even find myself using “loathing” more as I get a bit older.

          • DeborahJozayt

It’s just a natural stage in one’s life. Better than using “vastness”.

          • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

            Esteemed Bitter Kittens,
I would like to be in your Cannot Abide Celine Dion non-fan club. I can pay my dues with cheap wine and snarky comments. I anxiously await your reply,

            Yrs in loathing, etc.,
            Major Bedhead

          • formerlyAnon

            Sir or Madame Bedhead:

Your offer to pay dues is unnecessary, but completely charming. Those steeped in a vastness of loathing for Ms. Dion welcome all who cannot abide her. Irrationally or not.

            Consider yourself a charter member.

            Sincerely,
            Ms. Anon

          • snevhead

Come the revolution, you can show your loyalty by reaching for a weapon, MajorBedhead (there might even be a promotion in it for you…)

        • bitchybitchybitchy

You know it’s been 15 years since “Titanic” and I swear that damn song is still lurking somewhere in the recesses of my brain, so I”ll just blame Celine for that. Pourqoui pas?

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

With apologies to Ms Dion, with regard to her performing skills, Ive never been able to see her as anything other than less than the sum of her parts.

      • snevhead

Why thank you, Miss Amy. Let’s go for cocktails.

    • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Agree. Like the dress, irrationally loathe the woman wearing it!

      • kikisayshi

         Me three.

  • BrooklynBomber

    Nice dress.

  • Teri Brinson

Project Runway draping challenge, top three but not the ‘winner’ because of the color.

  • Tatiana Luján

I like the shape of the dress and the color, though dull, suits her skin. The dress needs hemming.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Celine is on my Irrational Celebrity Hate List, and I’m usually not a fan of what she wears, but I kind of love this look. Love the dress, the color suits her, and the hair and makeup look great.

My one quibble is that she could have benefitted from wearing a (or a better) bra.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Fabric texture is interesting and jewels are well-chosen, echoing the subtle textural weave. The shape actually suits her long and lean figure, but her dress is the color of liverwurst and that I cannot condone.

  • Puck Thornton

I love that dress! If only she had hemmed the sucker and worn some nice support for those sad looking breasts.

  • shirab

Sad color, sad boobies, sad posture that makes it look like her left sleeve fell off her shoulder because she was listing to one side.

  • almondemy

I wish SWINTON was in this dress.  Or Cate Blanchett…

    • LesYeuxHiboux

I actually thought Heidi might be able to rock it, but then I doubted because of her boobies.

      • l_c_ann

If Heidi were to wear it, we’d be playing a guessing game as to where her boobies would be that night: gone south, easy riding, or Victoria’s secret perky.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Either the divine Tilda or Ms. Cate would elevate this dress.

  • Judy_J

She needs a better foundation garment under that dress, if you know what I mean.

  • aquamarine17

for me, neither the dress nor the makeup work for her. she needs to start all over again. maybe a nice fresh high updo would look good, too. (a black or a white dress perhaps, i can’t think of any colors for her, maybe a pale pale apricot dress)

  • nancylee61

Ugh. Looks like a dirty chamois.

  • B_C_J

Ms. Dion has an enviable figure and this dress hits all the right notes emphasizing it perfectly.  I actually like the low key color. It adds to the sophistication of the entire look.  My only criticism is the overly long hem.

  • patticake1601

I think she looks great but a bra would have been a good idea.

  • PastryGoddess

Where is the picture of her with the Bambi!

  • decormaven

An appropriate foundation garment and a little lighter hand on the eyebrow pencil, and this would get snaps from me.

  • SewingSiren

Draped right of the bolt and pinned in place. Can’t wait to see the finished garment.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

SHE is ageless – in a strange way.  When she was young, I always thought she looked older than her age.  Now she’s older and she looks the same!  So I guess she’s just right now.  She looks amazing.  Don’t love the pictures of this dress – I think you need to see the bare arm side more to get the full effect – with the covered arm in front it all looks a bit shapeless.

  • http://twitter.com/lolacestmoi Veronika Kaufmann

My Boobs will go on Dion is actually wearing a nice gown. I like it.

  • formerlyAnon

I love the dress. The drape in the waist/bodice/arm achieves what almost NO-one’s lovely drapes achieve on a non-model person on the red carpet (even a very thin person) – the same elegance and ease as the carefully tweaked arrangement on the model.

I even like this dress on her, my most deeply irrational of all irrational celebrity hates. I admit, if I block out her face, I love the dress a lot more.

    • formerlyAnon

P.s.: points to the venue for a classier ‘mark’ than two strips of electrician’s tape.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1248212910 Jessie Melcher Brown

    She needs a (better) bra.

  • mom2ab

Even small girls need a lift after a couple babies- hoist those puppies up and its near perfect.

  • Stubenville

Why is she wrapped up in the drapes from her hotel suite?

  • crash1212

Just because your dress is slouchy, doesn’t mean you have to be.

  • Imasewsure

She usually looks so awful. This one isn’t bad considering (remember the backwards tuxedo?)

  • frannyprof

I actually really like this. I just want to know what the Bambi Awards are?

  • greyhoundgirl

I do like the dress on her–except that the bottom looks like she’s entered a potato sack race.

  • teensmom99

    Mais oui.

  • librarygrrl64

Horrible color and WHERE ARE HER FEET?!? but the shape isn’t bad on her. A little breastal support would have been nice, though.

  • marilyn

I like the dress.  She is lucky to be able to wear it well.  She does live concerts a lot, so she is used to going really heavy with makeup.  I think she is wearing too much for this event.  Over all, I wish I looked half as good as she does.

  • jw_ny

It’s an ok dress, except for the color…too drab and heavy, but I like the style on her.   Boobs need to go up a good few inches tho…

  • nannypoo

This is a pretty unattractive dress, but for some reason it looks great on her.

  • Jecca2244

makes her boobs look like they are at her hips…

  • Joanie Hunt

God help me, but I ALMOST went to see her while I was still living in Vegas (simply because friends told me she was kind to them when they were young performers). Thankfully, I got over that idea because I can’t stand her.

I do rather like the dress on her even if it probably only looks good if she remains in that position the entire she wears it.

  • sweet_potato

Not the best choice for her.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=790818401 Laurie Landry

    So saggy and droopy.

  • LilyPad

I really like the earth tone and relaxed silhouette of this dress paired with the diamonds. I think she looks pretty and very effortless here. Normally not a fan of her style but I think this look really flatters her

  • kikisayshi

    Dee-vah.

  • http://profiles.google.com/sauchih Sau-Chih Feng

Drab color ruining any otherwise beautiful dress.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I HATE HER I HATE HER I HATE HER.  I have this irrational hatred of her.  Plus what is wrong with that hair?  Bleached out and all dry, that’s what.  And that dress is drab.  Like she took all of the clothes from the insane asylum, ripped them apart, sewed them together to make a “gown” for a performance for all the other inmates.  UGH.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I recognize that it’s not OK to say “insane asylum.”  So let’s pretend this is 1945 OK?

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/ZNXSHUDVSV72SI6OSUOVPK7H2Y Ellen OD

Looks like she very late with her holiday shopping, put on a couple of bags from Sears, and tied them with a string.

  • RzYoung

She looks great, i usually don’t like her.

  • Claudia Fernandes

    Celine Dion? Really?

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

      THAT’s your comment? Really?

      • Claudia Fernandes

T-LO get my attention! even with an un-nice/stupid post! strong hug from a portuguese fan (lame, but true)

  • Verascity

Wow… guess I’m in the minority? I think this looks great.

  • EEKstl

As I instantly harken back to that backwards pant suit she wore to the Oscars eons ago, this is a step up.  I actually like this.  Her face is scaring me a bit, tho…

  • VicksieDo

I don’t get the Celine hate….she’s a phenomenal singer.  Strange yes, but who’s “normal.”  This dress is a sad color but a well fitting nicely cut dress.

  • Trisha26

The entire look is droopy…her skin even resembles the fabric.

  • carpediva

I do wish it was hemmed correctly (and on the model it seems just hair too short), but I actually think this is fierce as shit. Imagine it on someone we love (like Cate B.), who could innately zhuzh it up, and I think we might be bowing down.
