Bradley Cooper in Tom Ford

Posted on November 13, 2012

Now that the trend for tightly fitted suits has reached the realm of celebrity, we can see our new mantra when it comes to ripping on the boys is going to go from “Hem those pants” to “Let those pants out a little, for God’s sake.”

Bradley Cooper makes his way out of the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ in New York City in Tom Ford.

Having said that, it’s a really great look. We’re loving the grey, blue, and brown combo. The shoes are gorgeous. We’re not entirely sold on the wide tie, though. It’s a Tom Ford thing and generally, it looks better with the kind of wide lapels Tom Ford favors, but for some reason, it’s not really working for us here.

But let those thighs breathe a little, Bradley. We’re chafing just looking at you.

Those pants DO look awful tight, Bradley.  You should take them off.

      • Isabel

Don’t you want kids? Go one size up.

      • Sobaika

Right here and now, for our viewing pleasure.

      • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

My thinking exactly. Just take them off. You’ll get no complaints here.

    • WendyD

Do they have a side zipper? Strange things going on in the front. Definitely a size up.

      Or no pants at all.

      • kimmeister

You’re right, what the heck happened to the fly???

      • bellafigura1

      • Lisa_Cop

The zipper is all puckered. Tempted to watch Letterman just to see whether those tights pants split when he sits down.

    • bellafigura1

Boy, that is not your dress.  He hath not the physique for that suit/tie/collar combo.  He looks like Humpty Dumpty.

      • Clueless_Jock

Agreed. Tom Ford looks best on skinnier guys.

      • Derek_anny

He looks like Anthony Newly in Dr. Doolittle.

    • Little_Olive

The third picture portrays who I perceive him to be SO well.

Otherwise, that’s a very beautiful suit. Would have loved rounder pointed shoes.

    • Christina Diaz

he looks uncomfortable.  and from the irrational celebrity hate files, the longer he dated renee zellweger, the less attractive he became to me.

      • The Hilariest

He could lose the douchecanoe hair style, too. But first – ditch Squinty. She bugs.

      • MissAnnieRN

I have always found him to be kind of smarmy.  Not my cup of tea.  The suit however is gorg, but those pants, ugh.

    • Nicholas

The tie seriously adds 25 pounds. I have no idea why he would wear it.

Maybe it looks alright, if he bothered to button his jacket? Even though the knot is awful.

      • makeityourself

You can bet that Mr. Tom is miffed that Bradley didn’t button the jacket.  That kind of thing would really rile him.

    • Evan Hart

I can’t tell if it’s just his facial expressions, what the shirt/tie is doing to his neck, or what but it definitely looks like he’s sucking in his gut and tensing his abs.

Not that I’m complaining about the abs, but seriously…. he looks so uncomfortable!

    • sara

OMG I hate his hair so much.  What is the point of wearing a Tom Ford suit if your hair looks unwashed/like you’re a 19-year-old frat boy??

      • foodycatAlicia

19 year old frat boy/ auditioning for Wall Street remake

    • marlie

I love, love, love it (especially since I was shopping with the bf just this weekend and tried to get him to consider a plaid suit similar to this), but the pants are just a skosh too tight.

    • Markatha

I love the tight pants.  Yummy!

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

His face in every shot has me laughing out loud. Particularly number 3. I quite like the suit. Can we get a back shot just to see how tight it is? Please?

      • Mismarker

That 3rd picture is the best.  He looks douche-ier than a 10 pack of Summer’s Eve.

    • decormaven

Such gorgeous fabric, it’s a sin to see it so tightly fitted. One size up, and this would be snaps-worthy.

    • k_wilson

“We’re not entirely sold on the wide tie, though. It’s a Tom Brown thing
and generally, it looks better with the kind of wide lapels Tom Brown
favors, but for some reason, it’s not really working for us here.”

Do you mean Tom Ford instead of Thom Browne?

      • Tom and Lorenzo

Yes. We do that all the time.

        • k_wilson

Totally with you.  I accidentally call Martin Freeman, “Martin Sheen,” like, every other time I say his name.

      • MilaXX

nope Thom Browne is an American menswear designer.
ETA: Wait, now I’m confused. Is the suit Tom Ford and the accessories Thom Browne?

    • Gabriella M

A great look utterly ruined by his incredibly orange tan. Also, you forgot your ears, Mr. Cooper.
Also because all of his facial expressions say “douche.” It’s like he’s turning into Matthew McConaughey before our eyes.

    • ecallaw1977

      Gorgeous man, CUT. YOUR. HAIR.

    • MilaXX

I really like this suit and would like it even more if it fit. The jacket looks too tight but the sleeves are a touch too long. The pants, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man with camel toe before. Just a tad more breathing room for the nuts and berries would be nice.
Good effort, though. I do approve of the male celebs who venture out into color and patterns.

    • PrunellaV

I’m getting a car salesman vibe.

    • vinrouge15

Love the shoes. Hate the tie.

    • Gus Casals

I like it, tight and all. it’s about time we had a comeback of men verging on inappropriate on the red carpet. And funny you mention the tie, I was going to single it out as a detail that I really liked.

    • margaret meyers

      Spandex and wool?

    • Paula Pertile

He looked cuter on Charlie Rose, in a black slipover sweater and blue shirt (couldn’t see the pants). Love the shoes.

    • Scott Hester-Johnson

      Boyfriend is packin’ a lunch!

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

      nice SANSABELT pants.

      • Pamela

I KNOW!!!  What IS it with the no-belt pants trend???  Hate it!

        • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

i don’t generally wear a belt with my pants.  but they must have the option to be belted.

    • Carla_Charlton

When I saw the second photo, I laughed out loud — my goodness, those pants look so uncomfortable and Bradley’s face says that, in fact, they are!  Who in the world let him go out looking like that?!?

      • Kristen @ Motherese

Same here. In that and the final photo, he looks like he is trying not to explode.

    • JasmineAM

He looks like he could be starring in Anchorman 2

    • MaryanneGirl

I don’t disagree with anything you said. I also agree with him taking those pants off as soon possible.  That man is a tasty, tasty treat.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

I saw him on Letterman last night. When he was sitting down his thighs looked big and meaty…I knew it had to be the pants.

    • Michelle Young

I love me some Brad, but I don’t think the plaid is for Brad.  Sorry.  Had to say it.

    • Tatiana Luján

no no no to that super-wide tie knot.

    • Kim Brightman

When is Jon Hamm going to start following this trend?

      • bellafigura1

That I’d love to see, especially given the recent um, crotch shots. He appears to love going commando and I’m not complaining.

    • Ass Kicking Adviser

I agree that the tighter pants aren’t really working with his more athletic build but I like the whole ensemble. Looks sharp and again, as with Pattinson, it’s nice to see someone being adventurous and adult.

    • another_laura

It’s the wide tie.  ick.  It makes his head look small, which I mean, really?  Movie star cum pinhead?

    • LesYeuxHiboux

He looks like he has the Pencil Skirt Problem: cannot move his legs far enough apart to walk comfortably. Hobbled by pants.

    • bertkeeter

He has very hot thighs! :)

    •!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Are slacks with a higher rise becoming a thing now?  Maybe it’s some kind of optical illusion because they’re so tight, but that zipper looks about a mile long.

    • MzzPants

I love a meaty man in tight pants…but not slim wool trousers.  Respect the prostate, BC.

    • librarygrrl64

I love me a windowpane plaid, but, yeah. Also, some grooming would be nice. The scruff on the face and the lady-flip on the hair aren’t working for me. That being said, I am REALLY looking forward to his new movie. They filmed parts of it on my friends’ street in Ridley Park (just outside Philly). I know you New Yorkers and Los Angelinos are probably jaded by this, but for the rest of us it’s kinda fun when we can recognize the locations. :-)

    • jmorino08

It seriously looks like he’s holding his breath in half those photos!

    • quiltrx

I’m having trouble focusing on the pants…that tie keeps making my eyes water, it’s so hiddy.

    • poohbah1

Douchemergency alert! This is not a drill!

    • jonnyf8

I think the problem with the pants is the waist is a little high.  I like the width of the tie though.  I think I’d actually give Bradley a WERQ and I don’t even like him.

    • Leah

The tie is tied poorly. His pants are too tight. And I wish he’d worn a belt…Also his face is not working…Shave. And a haircut. :S

    • RzYoung

I think i would prefer it without a blue shirt. I love the Rupert Bear-ness of it. Maybe a skinnier tie would have made him look like he has a neck.

    • Samantha Irene

Ug, that tie… it really makes him look like a pinhead

    • BeeBeauNYC

I do enjoy a snug inseam, but when your genitals are literally stretching the seam in the crotch, they might be a wee bit tight.

    • BradWatson

I’m breathing more than enough for me, him AND his thighs.
